Bangla CM inaugurates Sampriti Flyover

Bangla Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the State’s longest flyover. About 7 km long, this flyover will connect Batanagar with Jinjira Bazar in Maheshtala Vidhan Sabha constituency. A journey, which earlier would take almost an hour, can now be completed in an hour.

The CM inaugurated this flyover via remote-control from Maidan. Abhishek Banerjee, under whose Lok Sabha constituency this flyover is located, was present at Batanagar for the inauguration.

The Budge Budge Trunk Road below the flyover will be maintained by KMDA. Taratala Industrial Estate, CESC Thermal Power Station at Budge Budge, and a public-sector oil company’s depot will be among the beneficiaries of this flyover.

Earlier the Kamalgazi flyover brought Narendrapur, Rajpur, Baruipur on fast track. It is expected that the people of Budge Budge, Bata, Maheshtala, Pujali will be immensely benefited with the construction of this flyover. Nearly 10 lakh people will benefit.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “We have allocated Rs 18,000 crore infrastructural projects. Several other flyovers like Maa flyover and Kamalgazi flyover have already come up. When I was the Railway Minister I also started East-West Metro project”

Two wheelers and four-wheelers and trucks carrying vegetables will be exempted from toll tax, the CM announced. She said, Swami Vivekananda always preached about universal brotherhood. Keeping those ideals in mind, the flyover has been named Sampriti (Harmony) Flyover.

Abhishek Banerjee said, “The earlier government would only blow their trumpet, even for laying a brick. We silently complete the task we undertake. Today we have inaugurated this flyover, tomorrow we will begin the work on the road. I am sure the work will be completed within a month.”
