New IT Parks in north Bengal
A new information technology (IT) park in Siliguri – the third in the region – is coming up soon. It will be located on Mirik Road and is likely to be inaugurated in August. Out of 32 modalities, 25 have been provisionally booked.
It may be mentioned in this connection that Bengal is getting a huge response from the private sector in terms of occupying spaces by IT firms in the newly-developed IT parks, many of which are located in smaller cities.
Big IT companies are already creating huge employment opportunities in the State. The Industries Minister, Dr Amit Mitra has recently said that in addition to the 35,000 people already employed in Bengal, TCS will hire around 20,000 more for its new campus’
