The state government has further proposed to set up six more super specialty hospitals from the funds of the state government in Bongaon, Kalna, Asansol, Srirampur, Arambagh and Basirhat.
While placing the health budget at the Assembly, Minister of State for Health Mrs Chandrima Bhattacharya said that six more super-specialty hospitals will be set up in these districts.
An estimated Rs 300 crore will be spent to set up six super specialty hospitals in these districts. They will have all facilities, including critical care unit, intensive care unit, and other facilities.
Mrs Bhattacharya said the Trinamool government has been successful in setting up such hospitals, whereas the LF government did not even bother to set them up in districts. The state government has also decided to provide one third of the amount for medical treatment claimed by the families under the State Illness Assistance Fund having a monthly income of Rs 6,000.
