Totally Thames Festival in London celebrates Durga Puja
A special exhibition celebrating the Bengali culture and the annual Durga Puja festivities has been inaugurated at the National Theatre, Riverside Walkway, London as part of the Totally Thames Festival 2018.
The exhibition, called Bengal’s Durga Puja, which consists of 16 panels of photographs, provides a rare insight into the outpouring of creativity, artistic innovations and cultural celebration of Bangla’s traditions during Durga Puja. The panels will be on display till September 30.
A delegation from the State Government consisting of the Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports, the State Home Secretary and the Principal Secretary, Tourism were present at the inauguration of the event.
This visit is the result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the British Council and the Bangla Government on July 6 this year.
The exhibition has been put together by the State Department of Tourism in collaboration with the British Council, as a part of the latter’s 70th anniversary celebrations in India.
