Sukhendu Sekhar Roy speaks on the 75th anniversary of Azad Hind Government
Sir, my Zero Hour is all about a different issue which concerns the entire nation.
Sir, we understand that a museum on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Fauj will be inaugurated at the Red Fort premises. This year our nation is celebrating the 75th anniversary i.e. Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of Azad Hind Government, which was the first free government of united India.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as the head of state of the provisional Government of India had hoisted the tricolour on the October 21, 1943 at Singapore. That government was recognised by 11 nations across the world. The Azad Hind Fauj captured Moirang in Manipur and half of Nagaland from British forces and Col Shaukat Ali Malik hoisted the national flag on April 14 at Moirang.
Sir, the Azad Hind Fauj wanted to march upto Delhi and hoist the flag at Red Fort. The slogan raised was ‘Chalo Delhi’. Now on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Azad Hind Government, a befitting tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and the soldiers and martyrs of Azad Hind Fauj, would be to inaugurate the Netaji and Azad Hind Fauj museum at Red Fort on October 21, this year.
I would request the government, through you, that the museum should be inaugurated only on October 21, 2018 and not on any other day, otherwise it will be irrelevant.
This is my humble submission to you and to the government.
