Shanta Chhetri demands that National Defence Academy be set up in Darjeeling

Hon’ble Sir, the brave Gorkha soldiers have fought in several wars, including both World Wars and the Falkland Wars. Known as some of the most skilled and fiercest warriors in the world, the Gorkhas have impressed and terrified their enemies at war.
The legend of Gorkha warriors is known throughout the world. There is no denying their status at the first among the equal. Therefore keeping the illustrious background of the Gorkha people, I urge the Hon’ble Minister of Defence to set up a national defence academy in Darjeeling Hills.
This will be the most remarkable way to pay our deepest respect to the brave Gorkha soldiers. Thank you.
