Saugata Roy asks a Question on endangered languages

FULL TRANSCRIPT
Sir, I thank the minister for giving a detailed reply to the question. I am very happy that two Universities in West Bengal, Visva Bharati, which is a Central University, and Jadavpur University, which is a State University, are included in that list.
Sir, the most endangered language in India is Sanskrit language. It was our traditional, classical language and now, because of lack of use, Sanskrit is slowly dying. It is not even compulsory in schools all over the country.
I want to ask the minister, what steps has the government taken to promote Sanskrit language. Is the government planning to provide assistance, including financial assistance, to any other university as well?
