Nusrat Jahan urges the Centre to build a National Highway in North 24 Parganas

Thank you Mr Speaker Sir. Sir, my Parliamentary Constituency is a very important area in terms of national security, adjacent to the Bangladesh border. There are a lot of BSF camps situated over there, and also it is the gateway of Sundarbans. So, Sir, better communications, increase of import-export and promotion of tourism in Sundarbans are very important. Also important is construction of a national highway from Barasat to Hemnagar via Berachampa, Basirhat, Hasnabad and Hingalganj which is more than a 100-km distance. These areas are very backward and construction of a national highway will contribute to economic development and growth. Sir, I request the Government through you to kindly accept my proposal and make sure that we have a national highway in that area. Thank you.
