Asit Mal speaks about dues owed by Centre to the Govt of West Bengal

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Hon’ble Speaker Sir, I would like to say that the State Government of West Bengal is buying at Rs 1,800 per quintal from different organisations for the benefit of the farmers. In this  case, Rs 1,200 crore is due from the central government. In the ICDS scheme and midday meal scheme, there is a due of Rs 850 crore from central government.

I would request through you Sir, the central government to release whatever dues it owes to the West Bengal Government as soon as possible. The Food Corporation of India has the keys of the PEG godown. As a result, much corruption occurs there.

I would request that the GOI handover the keys to the West Bengal Public Distribution System, Department of Food and Supplies to stop corruption.

Thank you, Sir, for giving me the opportunity.
