Bangla CM forms cells to ensure smooth flow of essential commodities
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has set up eight cells, each headed by senior IAS officers, to ensure smooth supply of essential commodities and services across Bangla during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The details are as follows (name of cell and headed by):
Perishable commodities: Sunil Gupta (agriculture secretary) and Prabhat Mishra (environment secretary)
Essential and civil supplies: S. Kishore (fisheries secretary)
Civic services: Subrata Gupta (municipal affairs secretary)
Restrictions and exemptions during lockdown: Manoj Pant (food secretary)
Supply of masks, hand sanitisers and protective gears: Rajesh Pandey (MSME Department secretary)
Transport of essential services: Narayan Nigam (transport secretary)
Donations to West Bengal Emergency Relief Fund: HK Dwivedi (finance secretary)
Supply of power and allied services: Santanu Basu (chairman and managing director of WBSEDCL)
