Thank you, Sir. In association with the speech delivered by Md Nadimul Haque, I am grateful that you have given me the opportunity to speak.

Sir, extensive damage was caused on November 9, 2019 by the Cyclone Bulbul, which landed in West Bengal with a speed of 120 km per hour. The cyclonic storm damaged the two districts of North and South 24 Parganas, two districts of Paschim and Purba Midnapore, Howrah and Hooghly. The number of lives lost is five.

Sir, agricultural damage was caused in 13,3,243 hectares. Vegetables, pulses, mustard, flowers, electricity, road, cattle in the tune of Rs 13,000 crore overall. It’s a devastating situation. Our Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has already appealed to the Central Government and has placed her demands regarding the catastrophic devastation of our state by the Cyclone Bulbul.

I urge upon the government, through you, is that the Central Government should come forward with all possible help to mitigate the sufferings of the people of the affected areas.

Sir, I have placed a Calling Attention Motion as well, if you allow.
