Bangla Govt to launch mobile app for job seekers
Bangla Government will soon roll out a mobile app for job seekers. The State Government is revamping the State Employment Bank portal. The new app and the portal will provide information regarding jobs in the state and abroad as well. Employers will also be able to pick candidates from the Employment Bank.
The State Employment Bank was launched a few years ago, with the inspiration of Bangla Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Recently, the State Labour Department has decided to revamp the portal to keep pace with the changing times.
Those enrolled to the Yuvashree scheme and the West Bengals Society for Skill Development will be included in the revamped portal. The new app will be available in both Android and iOS stores. The Labour Department has already asked WEBEL to create the app.
The revamped portal and the app will contain names of 50 lakh job-seekers and around 20 lakh companies. The job-seekers will be able to post their bio-data along with their pictures.
The new features of the revamped job portal will include e-mock tests, virtual career corners and vocational training facilities. A grievance redressal system will also be in place besides online police verification and lists of skilled and unskilled workers.
All job seekers, from electricians to plumbers, TV-AC-Fridge mechanics and from other professions, will have their contact information updated on the portal. Online payment gates will also be in place, wherever necessary.
