Saugata Roy requests Speaker to hold reception for Nobel Laureate Dr Abhijit Banerjee

Sir, you must be aware that this year Professor Abhijit Binayak Banerjee, along with two other people, received the Nobel Prize in Economics. He studied in Presidency College, Kolkata; I also studied there. Then he studied at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. His research is called Randomized Control Trial. This is the best system to study the condition of poor people. He also met the Prime Minister when he came to Delhi.
Sir, I propose that the Parliament organise a reception for this great son of India. In the past, we had a reception for Nobel Laureate Md Yunus from Bangladesh. Sir, please give Professor Abhijit Banerjee a reception so that we can recognise his work for the poor.
