Dr Santanu Sen makes a Special Mention on the bad state of Chittaranjan National Cancer Research Institute

Sir, thank you very much for giving me this scope. My Special Mention is about one particular Central Government cancer institute in our state of West Bengal. I am really sorry to draw your kind attention to one particular unfortunate fact.
The Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute is a Central Government cancer hospital situated at Hazra in Kolkata, with its second campus in New Town. Though during the visit of our Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare a few months back, it was promised that many rectifications will be done for the smooth running of the institute, nothing significant has been done. Till date, patients are refused admission, given long due dates for operations, refused anti-cancer medicines even and are sent to other Government and private institutions for required investigations. Though the State Government can play an important role, it is not involved. Hence, these things must be taken care of.
