Mimi Chakraborty speaks on respecting women

FULL TRANSCRIPT
Thank you, Sir. Yesterday I was present when this massacre was going on. I just want to say one little thing. When I first came to this Parliament, everybody respected me, everybody welcomed me with open heart and that was what I was learning. But yesterday when I was present here, I had been called the youngest MP, this, that.
But all I want to say is that, Sir, this is a learning process and what happened yesterday cannot be a part of my learning process which I, as a woman, am learning every day. Quite apart from any political difference which we may have, and we fight on that, this should be unanimous, we should fight for it totally. Nobody can stand in the Parliament and tell a woman, and a Speaker at that, to look into his eyes and talk. You might be very rhythmic in your couplets or anything such, but what you said was not a parliamentary thing to do. All women right here are expecting a response from you.
