Trinamool Congress Government has created 90 lakh jobs till now

As per the latest report on job creation available from Nabanna, during the seven years of the Trinamool Congress Government – from 2011 to 2018 – over 90 lakh jobs have been created in Bengal. The number covers both Government and private sectors.

During the presentation of the 2017-18 Budget in the Assembly on January 31, Dr Mitra mentioned that during financial year 2018-19, 13 lakh jobs would be created.

According to the report, the maximum number of jobs has been created in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector. Various forms of assistance are being extended by the Government, from loans to stipends to job fairs. As a result of the annual Bengal Global Business Summits, substantial gains in employment is happening, along with the signing of numerous memoranda of understanding (MoU), which are an indication of the employment potential of Bengal.

In Ease of Doing Business, as determined by one other than the World Bank, Bengal is number one in the country. In the fintech (financial technology) and information technology (IT) sectors, Bengal is gradually becoming the top destination.

In 100 Days’ Work, Bengal is number one in the number of person-days generated (implying that the most number of people have got work under this Central scheme, but run by the States). For the financial year ended March 31, 2018, 30.98 crore person-days were created. A total of 74.41 crore people from 49.93 lakh families have got work, as a result.

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the State is gradually turning around from the dark days of the Left Front.
