Satabdi Roy‘s Supplementary Question on the reasons for students under PMKVY scheme being placed only from 2015-16 to 2021-22
Under the PMKVY scheme, placements were tracked in the short-term training component only in its first three versions implemented from financial year 2015-16 to financial year 2021-22. Will the Minister clarify the reason for the same? Is it because the Government could only achieve overall placement rate of 43 per cent from 2015 till 2024 which is way below the expected rate? What steps has the Government taken to improve its performance in the placement rate? SHRI SUKANTA MAJUMDAR: The placement as mentioned by the hon. Member is 43 per cent and it is quite good. From PMKVY 4.0, a compulsory on-job training was introduced and hence the placement is delinked from PMKVY 4.0. The Government and the Ministry is taking several steps such as introduction of new courses like drone technology, green hydrogen and so on. These kinds of courses have been introduced by the Government to make our workforce ready for the future India.
