Lok Sabha MP Mitali Bag’s Zero Hour mention on punishing the BJP minister who insulted Raja Ram Mohan Roy
Namashkar, Honourable Chairperson Madam. Thank you for letting me speak. Raja Rammohan Roy has a special place in the history of the country. He was a social reformer who spent his entire life fighting for women’s rights. He was one of the first social reformers who spoke strongly against harsh social customs like Sati, child marriage etc. Bengali women worship him. In fact, after years of tireless struggle, he became famous and respected as the father of modern India. It is a matter of pride that he was born in Arambagh, Thanakul, Radhanagar areas and I represent this constituency. But, sadly, the BJP has never respected him. A BJP minister called him a foreigner. He called him a Britisher. I strongly protest against him. BJP means misogynist, BJP means anti-Bangla, BJP means anti-wisdom. Therefore, I strongly protest against the comment made by the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister about Raja Rammohan Roy and demand punishment for that minister.
