Trinamool Congress on Monday hit the streets protesting against the central government’s decision to link Aadhaar card with the midday meals programme in schools.

Trinamool’s women activists led by Chandrima Bhattacharya took out a rally in central Kolkata, demanding the immediate rollback of the move dubbing it “anti-people.” Belting out slogans and displaying posters on themselves, they said students will starve due to the linking.

“To make Aadhar cards for children, one has to start when they are still in the womb? Do people now have to carry out ultra sonography to determine the sex of the infant so they can apply for an Aadhar card? Does it mean, the Centre is trying to legalise foetal sex determination,” Bhattacharya questioned.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had on Saturday termed as shocking the central government’s decision. “Now even infants (0-5 years) will need Aadhar cards? Aadhaar card for mid-day meals and ICDS? Shocking! 100 Days’ Work also not spared,” she had tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will continue to give midday meal to students in its schools, Mayor Sovan Chatterjee said.

 

মিডডে মিলে আধার বাধ্যতামূলক করার প্রতিবাদে পথে নামলো তৃণমূল

মিড ডে মিলের জন্য আধার কার্ড বাধ্যতামূলক, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্তের প্রতিবাদে আজ পথে নামলো মহিলা তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। সুবোধ মল্লিক স্কয়্যার থেকে রানি রাসমনি অ্যাভিনিউ পর্যন্ত মিছিলটির নেতৃত্ব দেন তৃণমূল মহিলা কংগ্রেসের সভানেত্রী চন্দ্রিমা ভট্টাচার্য।

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার ঘোষণা করেছে, মিড ডে মিল পাওয়ার জন্য স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের আধার কার্ড থাকতে হবে। এই সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে আগেই ক্ষোভ উগরে দিয়েছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বলেছিলেন, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্ত অবিশ্বাস্য। গরিব, খেটে খাওয়া মানুষ, আমাদের প্রিয় শিশুদের অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত করা হচ্ছে।”

মিছিল থেকে এবিষয়ে কথা বলতে গিয়ে চন্দ্রিমা ভট্টাচার্য  বলেন, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার মিড ডে মিলের জন্য আধার কার্ড বাধ্যতামূলক করেছে। সেখানে বয়সসীমা দিয়েছে শূন্য থেকে শুরু। আমরা শূন্য বছরের মানে বুঝতে পারলাম না। তাহলে কি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার চাইছে মায়ের গর্ভে থাকার সময়ই শিশুর আধার কার্ড করতে হবে? আধারকার্ড করতে গেলে ছেলে না মেয়ে জানতে হবে। তাহলে কি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার চাইছে মায়ের গর্ভে থাকাকালীন শিশুর লিঙ্গ নির্ধারণ করা হোক? তার মানে BJP পরিচালিত সরকার বেআইনি কাজকে সমর্থন জানাচ্ছে।”

After dealing with private hospitals, next on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s radar are private educational institutions.

“There are a lot of good private schools, colleges and universities but some of them charge so much in terms of fees and donations. Those who can pay up, I have nothing to say but I believe there should be some control without interfering in their autonomy,” Mamata Banerjee said at the state Assembly on Friday.

She said that after the ongoing board exams were over, she would convene a meeting. “Madhyamik exams are on. Then there will be the higher secondary (exams), followed by the ICSE and the CBSE. After the board exams, I will ask the education minister to call authorities of the private educational institutions. They provide education to youngsters who are our future. I will ask authorities of these educational institutions to chalk out a plan so that we can formulate a policy based on that,” she said.

 

বেসরকারি হাসপাতালের পর এবার বেসরকারি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে নজর মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

স্বাস্থ্যের পর এবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নজর বেনিয়মে চলা বেসরকারি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে। বেসরকারি হাসপাতালের যথেচ্ছাচার নিয়ন্ত্রণে বিল পেশের মঞ্চ থেকেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় জানিয়ে দিলেন এ কথা।

শুক্রবার স্বাস্থ্য-বিল নিয়ে বক্তব্য রাখতে উঠে শিক্ষার প্রসঙ্গ টেনে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “এখনও মনে করি, অনেক প্রাইভেট স্কুল খুব ভাল। তবে কেউ কেউ এত বেশি চার্জ নেয়, এত বেশি ডোনেশন নেয়, কোথাও একটা নিয়ন্ত্রণ থাকা দরকার।” পরীক্ষা-মরশুম মিটলেই তিনি বেসরকারি স্কুল-কলেজের কর্তাদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করবেন। তাঁদের পরামর্শ নিয়েই নির্দিষ্ট নীতি তৈরি করতে চান তিনি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কথায়, “এতে ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের ভাল হবে। ভাল ভাল ছেলে মেয়ে তৈরি হবে। মাধ্যমিক শেষ হয়েছে। উচ্চমাধ্যমিক, সিবিএসই, আইসিএসই রয়েছে। পরীক্ষা শেষ হয়ে গেলেই স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে এ ব্যাপারে কথা বলব। ওঁদের বলব, আপনারাই বলুন, কী করা উচিত। দেখতে হবে, কারও যেন অসুবিধা না হয়।” স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করেই নির্দিষ্ট নীতি তৈরি করার কথা বলেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এছাড়া ইংরেজি মাধ্যম স্কুলে বাংলা বা নেপালির মতো আঞ্চলিক ভাষাকে পাঠ্য বিষয়ের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করায় জোর দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ওই সমস্ত স্কুলে যাতে বাংলা বা আঞ্চলিক ভাষা পড়ানো হয়, সেদিকে নজর দেবে প্রশাসন।

Expressing her concern over fatal road accidents, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said in the Assembly that stringent rules will be introduced to check rash driving especially motorcycle racing that leads to most accidents.

The Chief Minister said: “Illegal bike racing is coming up as a major problem in the state as it is claiming countless lives. It is fine when people use two-wheelers for their work but the government will confiscate bikes of those who will race. At the same time, stringent rules will also be in place.”

The Chief Minister had launched the state-wide “Safe Drive Save Life” campaign, a few months ago. It had helped in reducing the number of road accidents.

 

পথ দুর্ঘটনা কমাতে আরও কঠোর আইনের ভাবনা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

শুধু স্বাস্থ্য বা শিক্ষা নয়, বেনিয়মের মেরুদণ্ডে আঘাত হানতে বাইক-দৌরাত্মেও রাশ টেনেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি জানিয়েছেন, বেপরোয়া যান চলাচল ও বাইক-রেসিং বন্ধ করা হবেই।

নিত্য-নৈমিত্তিক মর্মান্তিক পথ-দুর্ঘটনার ব্যাপারে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। শুক্রবার বিধানসভায় তিনি জানান, বেপরোয়া যান চলাচল – বিশেষ করে বাইক-রেসিং, যা বেশির ভাগ সময় দুর্ঘটনা ডেকে আনে – রুখতে আরও কড়া আইন আনতে চলেছে রাজ্য সরকার।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বেআইনি বাইক-রেসিং এই মুহূর্তে রাজ্যের একটি বিরাট সমস্যা কারণ এতে অনেক প্রাণহানি ঘটছে। কাজকর্মের জন্য মানুষ বাইক ব্যবহার করতেই পারেন। কিন্তু যারা রেস করবে তাঁদের বাইক বাজেয়াপ্ত করবে রাজ্য সরকার। এ ছাড়াও আরও কড়া আইন আনা হবে।”

কয়েক মাস আগেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী “সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ” প্রচার শুরু করেন যার ফলে রাজ্যে পথ-দুর্ঘটনা অনেক কমেছে।

More than 360 poets and elocutionists will participate in the three-day ‘Kobita Utsab’, organised by the Paschimbanga Kobita Academy. The festival will begin on Friday with a rally in which eminent poets and elocutionist would voice their views. The rally would start around 4 pm from near the statue of Rabindranath Tagore and will end at Nandan after passing through the Kolkata Information Centre.

It may be mentioned that the setting up of the Kobita Academy – a first-of-its-kind institution in the country which promotes poetry and acts as a forum for poets all over the state – was the brainchild of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. ‘Kobita Utsab’ will be held at Rabindra Sadan, Sisir Mancha and auditorium of Bangla Academy. This is the first time that such a major endeavour has been taken to organise a festival exclusively for poets and elocutionists.

Poet Nirendranath Chakraborty will inaugurate the Kobita Utsab on Friday at Rabidndra Sadan. Fellow poet Monindra Gupta will be felicitated with ‘Jibanananda Samman” and elocutionist Pradip Ghosh will be awarded the ‘Kazi Sabyasachi Samman’. Besides recitation of poems, there will be seminars on poetry which will be held at the festival.

 

আজ উদ্বোধন হবে কবিতা উ९সবের

আজ থেকে রবীন্দ্রসদনে শুরু হচ্ছে কবিতা উ९সব। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ কবিতা অ্যাকাডেমি আয়োজিত তিন দিনের এই কবিতা উ९সবে ৩৬০ জনেরও বেশি শিল্পী অংশগ্রহণ করবে।

আজ বিকেল চারটেয় রবীন্দ্র সদন চত্বরে রবীন্দ্রনাথের মূর্তির সামনে থেকে কবি শিল্পীদের একটি মিছিল শুরু হবে শেষ হবে নন্দনে। মিছিলের ব্যানারে থাকবে সুভাষ মুখোপাধ্যায়ের কবিতার পঙক্তি– একটু পা চালিয়ে ভাই।

উল্লেখ্য, কবিতা অ্যাকাডেমি গঠন করার অভিনব চিন্তাধারা মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের। কবিতার প্রসারে এমন এক অ্যাকাডেমি বানানোর উদ্যোগ দেশে নজিরবিহীন।

রবীন্দ্র সদন ছাড়াও শিশির মঞ্চ ও বাংলা অ্যাকাডেমি অডিটোরিয়ামে হবে এই ‘কবিতা উ९সব’। তিনদিন ব্যাপী এই উ९সবের উদ্বোধন করবেন নীরেন্দ্রনাথ চক্রবর্তী। আজ এই উ९সবসন্ধ্যায় ‘জীবনানন্দ সম্মান’ পাবেন কবি মণীন্দ্র গুপ্ত, ‘কাজি সব্যসাচী সম্মান’ পাবেন আবৃত্তিকার প্রদীপ ঘোষ।

Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohu on Thursday extended an invitation to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to visit his country for exploring business possibilities in manufacturing and other key sectors of the two countries.

The Ambassador, heading a five-member delegation including Chinese Consul-Genral in Kolkata Ma Zhanwu, called on Banerjee at the state secretariat Nabanna.

“Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to India and the Consul-General of China in Kolkata had a meeting with me at the state secretariat today (Thursday).

“He extended an invitation to us to visit China to explore Bengal-China business possibilities in manufacturing and other key sectors,” Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

Zhaohu and Banerjee had elaborate discussions about the business possibilities in many areas.

 

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সাথে দেখা করলেন চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত

বৃহস্পতিবার নবান্নে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সঙ্গে দেখা করলেন চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত লিও জং হুই। পাঁচ সদস্যের এক চীনা প্রতিনিধি দল এদিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন। এ রাজ্যে বিনিয়োগ করতে আগ্রহী চীন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তাঁর ফেসবুক পেজে লেখেন, “আজ (বৃহস্পতিবার) নবান্নে চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত লিও জং হুই আমার সঙ্গে দেখা করেন। বাংলা-চীনের বাণিজ্য সম্পর্ক আরও দৃঢ় করার জন্য উনি আমায় চীন সফরে যাওয়ার আমন্ত্রণ জানান”।

বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বিনিয়োগের সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে এদিন বিস্তারিত আলোচনা হয় তাদের মধ্যে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today reiterated that there is no place for intolerance or riots in the State. Nobody has the right to incite people against each other, the Chief Minister said. She was speaking at a function of Bharat Sevasram Sangha.

“Everyone has the freedom of choice – which religion they want to follow, what they eat, what they wear. Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai, apas mein rehna bhai bhai. This is our motto,” she said adding that Ramakrishna Paramhansa taught us about Sarva Dharma Samannay and that there is no bigger Hindu than him.

Mamata Banerjee also said that true service does not discriminate on the basis of caste, creed or community. The CM commended Bharat Sevasram Sangha for their social work, specially during rescue operations after any disaster.

 

বাংলায় অসহিষ্ণুতা ও দাঙ্গার কোন জায়গা নেইঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

বাংলায় অসহিষ্ণুতার কোন স্থান নেই, দাঙ্গার কোন জায়গা নেই। মানুষে মানুষে দাঙ্গা লাগানো চলবে না, ভারত সেবাশ্রম সংঘের অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে আজ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী একথা বলেন।

তিনি বলেন, “মানুষ কি করবে সেটা তার পছন্দ, কোন ধর্ম অনুসরণ করবে, কি খাবে, কি পরবে সেটা তাদের পছন্দ, হিন্দু-মুসলমান-শিখ সকলে ভাই ভাই”।  তিনি আরও বলেন, “রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংস আমাদের সর্বধর্ম সমন্বয়ের শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন। তাঁর চেয়ে বড় হিন্দু কেউ নয়”।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, সেবার কোনও জাত হয় না, এটাই প্রকৃত ধর্ম। যে কোনও বিপর্যয়ের পর উদ্ধারকাজে সবসময় ভারত সেবাশ্রম সঙ্ঘকে দেখা যায় বলে এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রশংসাও করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

The state government has allocated a fund of Rs 300 crore to provide financial assistance to those who have lost their jobs due to demonetisation in other states and have come back home. The scheme to provide financial assistance has been named “Samarthan”.

It may be mentioned that state Finance Minister Amit Mitra had announced the unique step of providing financial assistance to “stand beside the skilled workers” while presenting the Budget in the Assembly on February 10. Bengal is the only State in the country to take such a step for demonetisation-hit workers.

On Monday, the state government has decided to allocate Rs 300 crore for the scheme initially in nine districts. Under the scheme, Rs 50,000 each will be given to 50,000 such workers to start their own business so that they can earn their livelihood and don’t have to suffer after losing their jobs due to the hasty decision of the Central government to demonetise high value notes.

 

নোটবন্দির ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কর্মীদের পাশে দাঁড়াল রাজ্য সরকার

নোটবন্দীর ফলে ভিন রাজ্যে কর্মচ্যুতদের নতুন ব্যবসা শুরু করার জন্য  আর্থিক সাহায্য দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল রাজ্য সরকার। এই প্রকল্পের নাম ‘সমর্থন’।

উল্লেখ্য, গত ১০ই ফেব্রুয়ারি বাজেট পেশ করার সময়ই অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র নোটবাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদানের কথা ঘোষণা করেছিলেন।

এই প্রকল্পের জন্য ৯টি জেলা বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে। সোমবার ৯ টি জেলায় এই প্রকল্পে ৩০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় রাজ্য সরকার। এই প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের স্বনিযুক্তিকরণের জন্য মাথাপিছু ৫০ হাজার টাকা করে আর্থিক সহায়তা দেবে সরকার যাতে তারা তাদের নিজেদের ব্যবসা শুরু করতে পারেন। প্রতিটি জেলায় এই ধরনের কর্মহীনদের শনাক্ত করতে একটি কমিটিও গঠন করা হয়েছে।

From toy train to ropeway, from water ATMs to making the region plastic-free, numerous projects are being launched to make Digha more attractive to tourists. Digha Sankarpur Development Authority is taking up 39 schemes at a cost of Rs 50 crore.

Neglected during the Left Front regime, the Mamata Banerjee Government has brought about large-scale developments to the region. The district and local administrations have also done a lot.

Now, Digha Sankarpur Development Authority has initiated a project to run a toy train from Digha to Udaypur, near the border with Odisha. The train would run along the casuarina tree-lined coastline of Digha and New Digha.

A ropeway is also being planned from Digha to Sankarpur, which would enable tourists to view the beautiful coastline from up above.

New initiatives are also being planned to keep Digha clean, recruitments for which are being planned. Digha has been declared a plastic-free zone, so tourist cars would be checked before they enter Digha to ensure that no such material is being taken inside the resort town. The control on plastic waster would improve the sewage system of the area.

To improve the garbage collection system, garbage trucks running on hydraulic system would be introduced.

All these measure would ensure that Digha becomes a much more attractive place for tourists.

দিঘার পর্যটনে নতুন চমকঃ টয়ট্রেন, রোপওয়ে

পর্যটকদের কাছে আরও আরও আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতে টয় ট্রেন থেকে রোপওয়ে, ওয়াটার এটিএম মেশিন থেকে প্ল্যাস্টিক ব্যবহার রোধ সহ একগুচ্ছ নতুন পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করেছে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। মোট ৫০ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে ৩৯ টা নতুন প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে পর্ষদ।

বাম আমলে অবহেলিত পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার সৈকত শহর দিঘাকে ক্ষমতায় এসেই বিশ্ব পর্যটন মানচিত্রে তুলে আনার কথা ঘোষণা করেছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এর জন্য ২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই নানা প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে সরকার থেকে জেলা প্রশাসন, স্থানীয় প্রশাসন থেকে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। সেজে উঠেছে দিঘা।

এবার পর্যটকদের কাছে নতুন আকর্ষণ হতে চলেছে টয় ট্রেন। সমুদ্র উপকুলের ঝাউ বনের ভিতর দিয়ে নিউ দিঘার পিকনিক স্পট ধরে প্রতিবেশী রাজ্য উরিশার সীমান্তবর্তী উদয়পুর অবধি টয় ট্রেন চালানোর প্রাথমিক পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। জানা গেছে আগামী সপ্তাহের মধ্যেই সেই কাজ শুরু হয়ে যাবে।

শুধু টয় ট্রেন নয়, পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণের আরও একটা নতুন ডেস্টিনেশন হতে চলেছে রোপওয়ে। দিঘা থেকে শংকরপুর অবধি প্রায় চার কিমি এলাকায় সমুদ্রের ওপর দিয়ে যাবে এই রোপওয়ে। ফলে এবার আর সমুদ্রে স্নান করে কিংবা টয় ট্রেনের ভিতরে বসে ঝাউ বনের মধ্যে যেতে যেতে সমুদ্র দেখার আনন্দ নয়, সঙ্গে জুড়তে চলেছে আকাশের ওপর থেকেও সমুদ্র দেখার আনন্দ।

এমন ৩৯টি প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান সাংসদ শিশির অধিকারী জানিয়েছেন সব মিলিয়ে প্রায় ৫০ কোটি টাকার প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

দিঘাকে সাজানোর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এখানকার পরিবেশকে আরও পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন করে পর্যটকদের উপহার দেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। দিঘায় ঢোকার আগেই পর্যটকদের গাড়ি পরীক্ষা করবে এই কর্মীরা। কারণ প্ল্যাস্টিকের ব্যবহার নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে প্ল্যাস্টিক মুক্ত হলে দিঘার জল নিকাশি ব্যবস্থা আরও বেশি আবর্জনামুক্ত হবে বলে জানান দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান সাংসদ শিশির অধিকারী। দিঘাকে পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখতে হাইড্রোলিক সিস্টেমের আবর্জনা বহনকারী গাড়ি কেনার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today reacted on the unfortunate and tragic death of an Indian engineer in Kansas, USA.

She posted on Twitter, “The world is one big family. People from different countries live in different nations. We must all understand this.”

She added, “Saddened and shocked at incident of Indian engineer in Kansas USA who was an unfortunate victim. We don’t support the politics of hate.”

আজ টুইটারে তিনি বলেন, পৃথিবীটা এক বিরাট যৌথপরিবারের মত। পৃথিবী জুড়েই নানা মানুষ নানা দেশে থাকেন। আমেরিকার কানসাসে ভারতীয় ইঞ্জিনিয়ারের সাথে যে দুর্ভাগ্যজনক ঘটনা ঘটেছে তাতে আমরা স্তম্ভিত ও মর্মাহত। আমরা ঘৃণার রাজনীতি সমর্থন করি না।

Ever since she became Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee’s aim has been to make Bengal an ideal destination for tourists. She has taken various measures towards this goal.

One of them being taken up now is the construction of Tourist Amenity Centres besides the national highways crisscrossing the State. West Bengal Tourism Corporation Limited is in talks with the various petrol pump owners who have facilities on the national highways, to use vacant land around their setups to build Tourist Amenity Centres, in collaboration with private organisations.

Each Tourist Amenity Centre would be equipped with a cafeteria, a restaurant with an in-house kitchen, a small medicine shop and a stationery store. Ramps would be built for wheelchair-bound people. Each centre would also have a special room where mothers would have the privacy to breast-feed their children.

Bengal is quickly becoming a hot destination for tourists, both Indian and international. A massive advertising campaign is already on, where Bengal has been dubbed as the “Sweetest Part of India”. Shah Rukh Khan has been appointed as the State’s brand ambassador.

Bengal is unique in the sense that it is the only State which stretches from the high mountains to the sea. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is aiming to make the State with such a diversity of ecosystems the number one in the country in terms of tourist visits, from the current number five.

 

 

জাতীয় সড়কের ধারে তৈরি হচ্ছে ‘সুবন্দোবস্ত সেন্টার’

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের লক্ষ্য, পর্যটনে বাংলা আগামী দিনে দেশের মধ্যে এক নম্বর স্থান দখল করবে। এই লক্ষ্যে এগিয়ে চলেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন লিমিটেড। এবার পর্যটক টানতে নয়া উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করল পর্যটন দপ্তর। দেশ ও বিদেশের পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণ করতে তৈরি করছে ‘ট্যুরিস্ট অ্যামিনিটি সেন্টার’ বা ‘পর্যটক সুবন্দোবস্ত সেন্টার’।

মূলত বাংলার পর্যটনে সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে আগ্রহ বাড়াতে এই পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে পর্যটন বিভাগ। এর আগেই পর্যটন বিভাগ সারা বিশ্বের কাছে বাংলার পর্যটনকে তুলে ধরতে শাহরুখ খানকে বিজ্ঞাপনে ব্যবহার করেছে। পর্যটন দপ্তরের ট্যাগ লাইন ‘বেঙ্গল – দ্য সুইটেস্ট পার্ট অফ ইন্ডিয়া’ ইতিমধ্যেই যথেষ্ট সাড়া ফেলেছে দেশে ও বিদেশের পর্যটকদের কাছে।

এবার রাজ্যের মধ্যে দিয়ে যাওয়া জাতীয় সড়কের ওপর ‘সুবন্দোবস্ত সেন্টার’ তৈরি করে দেশ ও বিদেশের পর্যটকদের চমক দিতে চলেছে পর্যটন দপ্তর। দেশি ও বিদেশি পর্যটকদের কাছে ঝঞ্ঝাট মুক্ত ও নিশ্চিত যাত্রা তুলে ধরতে পর্যটন বিভাগ এই পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে।

পর্যটকদের জন্য ‘সুবন্দোবস্ত সেন্টার’ গুলোর পরিকাঠামো কেমন হবে? প্রত্যেক ট্যুরিস্ট অ্যামিনিটি সেন্টারে থাকছে একটি করে ক্যাফেটেরিয়া, একটি রান্নাঘর সহ রেস্টুরেন্ট, ছোট ওষুধের দোকান এবং নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় ও অপরিহার্য জিনিসের একটি করে দোকান। প্রতিবন্ধীদের প্রবেশের জন্য থাকবে আলাদা ঢালু রাস্তা। শিশুদের স্তন দুগ্ধ পান করানোর জন্য মহিলাদের জন্য থাকবে আলাদা ঘর। এ ছাড়াও মহিলা ও পুরুষদের জন্য থাকবে আলাদা শৌচালয়। এই সমস্ত সুযোগ-সুবিধার বাইরেও প্রত্যেক সুবন্দোবস্ত সেন্টারের মধ্যে থাকবে বিনা খরচে ওয়াইফাই ব্যবস্থা। সেন্টারের বাইরে থাকবে গাড়ি পার্কিঙের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত জায়গা।

কলকাতা থেকে বকখালি পর্যন্ত দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনায় ৪টি পর্যটকদের জন্য সুবন্দোবস্ত সেন্টার তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। বাকি ৩টে তৈরি হচ্ছে কলকাতা থেকে দিঘা রুটে।
