Across Bengal, Subhas Utsab was celebrated to commemorate the 121st birth anniversary of one of the bravest sons of the soil, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. His patriotism has an abiding influence on Indians even today.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led the celebrations, organised by the State Youth Affairs and Sports Department. The celebrations started yesterday and would continued for the whole of today.

The celebrations were being held across 341 blocks, 118 municipalities, six municipal corporations, the 144 wards under the jurisdiction of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), the GTA-administered regions and all the district capitals.

Among the programmes organised on this occasion were street marches, exhibitions on the life and work of Netaji, quiz shows based on the person, debates, sit-and-draw competitions, essay-writing competitions and various other cultural competitions and programmes.

A special programme was organised at Maidan by the State Government. The Chief Minister garlanded the statue of the great leader, after which she gave a speech.

 

Salient points from her speech

  • We feel pride in speaking of qualities like patriotism, self-respect, dedication, determination, devotion and unity.
  • It is a well-known fact that Netaji wanted to free the country and unite the people of India. He is a national leader.
  • Though we know the birthday of Netaji, till date, his fate is unknown. India has become independent, but it is a matter of shame for us that we do not know the full life story of such a national leader.
  • Netaji worked taking everyone along. He created the Indian National Army, led the Azad Hind Fauj, whose motto was ‘Jai Hind’.
  • Netaji was far-sighted. He thought of not only making India independent, but thought of her development as an independent country too – he created the Planning Commission; yet it is a matter of shame that the Planning Commission has been abolished.
  • My appeal to the youth is to hold your heads high. Fight for your rights with confidence. It is the youth who will build up the future India and spread the message of unity and communal harmony.
  • We follow the paths shown by great leaders. That is why we want that national leaders remain above controversy. The leader of a country is the leader of everyone.
  • The whole country wants an end to the mystery of what happened to Netaji in the end. I think this should be solved.
  • Even today Netaji has not got his due. The Bengal Government has given January 23 and January 12 as holidays, but the Centre has not. Can’t we give them even this much respect?
  • The person who taught Bengal to fight, rousing the attention of the whole world, remains a marvel to the world. Netaji will live forever though his ‘Jai Hind’ slogan.

 

রাজ্য জুড়ে পালন হচ্ছে সুভাষ উৎসব

নেতাজী সুভাষ চন্দ্র বসুর ১২১তম জন্ম বার্ষিকী উপলক্ষ্যে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত হচ্ছে সুভাষ উৎসব। উৎসব শুরু হয়েছে গতকাল থেকে। চলবে আজ পর্যন্ত।

এই উৎসব পালিত হচ্ছে রাজ্যের ৩৪১টি ব্লক, ১১৮টি পৌরসভা, ৬টি কর্পোরেশন, কলকাতা পৌর সংস্থার অধীনে ১৪৪টি ওয়ার্ড এবং জি.টি.এ. সহ রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলা সদরে।উৎসব ঘিরে আয়োজিত হয়েছে পদযাত্রা, সুভাষ চন্দ্রের জীবন ও কর্মবিষয়ক প্রদর্শনী, সুভাষ চন্দ্র বিষয়ক ক্যুইজ, বিতর্ক, বসে আঁকো, প্রবন্ধ রচনা সহ অন্যান্য সাংস্কৃতিক প্রতিযোগিতা ও অনুষ্ঠান।

এদিন নেতাজির জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে ময়দানে এক বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে রাজ্য সরকার।সেখানে নেতাজির মূর্তিতে মাল্যদান করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।অনুষ্ঠানের পর বক্তব্য রাখেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

 

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ

  • দেশভক্তি, দেশকে ভালোবাসা , আত্মমর্যাদা, ডেডিকেশন, ডিটারমিনেশন, ডিভোশন, ইউনিটি এই সব কথা বলে আমরা গর্ববোধ করি।
  • নেতাজি সুভাষ চন্দ্র বোস স্বদেশের মুক্তির জন্য সমগ্র ভারতবাসীকে এক করেছিলেন, সেকথা কারো অজানা নয়। উনি আমাদের জাতীয় নেতা।
  • নেতাজির জন্মদিন জানলেও আজ পর্যন্ত তাঁর ভবিষ্যৎ আমাদের অজানা।ভারতবর্ষ স্বাধীন হয়েছে ঠিকই কিন্তু একজন দেশনেতার জীবনের এই রহস্য আজ আমাদের লজ্জা।
  • নেতাজি সবাইকে নিয়ে কাজ করেছিলেন। ইন্ডিয়ান ন্যাশনাল আর্মি তৈরি করেছিলেন। আজাদ হিন্দ বাহিনীর নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছিলেন। যার স্লোগান ছিল জয় হিন্দ।
  • শুধু স্বদেশকে মুক্ত করা নয় তার উন্নয়নের কথা ভেবে নেতাজি প্ল্যানিং কমিশন তৈরি করেছিলেন। অথচ দুঃখের বিষয় সেই প্ল্যানিং কমিশন তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • যুব সমাজের প্রতি আমার আবেদন মাথা উঁচু করে চলুন। আত্মবিশ্বাসের সঙ্গে লড়াই করুন। যুব সমাজই আগামীদিনে ভারতবর্ষকে গড়ে তুলবে এবং সারা দেশে একতা সংহতি ও সম্প্রীতির বার্তা দেবে।
  • আমরা মনিষীদের কথাগুলোকে পাথেয় করেই পথ চলি। আমরা চাই দেশের মনিষীরা সমস্ত বিতর্কের উর্দ্ধে থাকুক। দেশের নেতা সবার নেতা।
  • নেতাজির অন্তিম সময়ে কি হল তা দেশবাসী যানতে চায়, আমার মনে হয় এটা প্রকাশ্যে আসা উচিত।
  • আজও নেতাজি তাঁর প্রাপ্য মর্যাদা পায়নি। রাজ্য ২৩ জানুয়ারি ছুটি ঘোষণা করলেও আজও ২৩ জানুয়ারি ও ১২ জানুয়ারি জাতীয় ছুটি হিসেবে ঘোষণা হয়নি। আমরা কি তাদের এটুকু সম্মান দিতে পারিনা?
  • সমগ্র পৃথিবীকে আলোড়ন করে বাংলাকে যে লড়াই শিখিয়ে গেছেন তা সমগ্র পৃথিবীর মানুষের কাছে একটা বিস্ময় হয়ে আছে, থাকবে। নেতাজি বেঁচে থাকবেন ‘জয় হিন্দ’ স্লোগানের মাধ্যমে।

State Youth Affairs Department, in association with Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), has decided to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in a big way.
The anniversaries fall on January 12 and January 23, respectively. In the memory of Swami Vivekananda, January 12 is celebrated as Youth Day.

The celebrations would be named as Vivek Utsav and Subhas Utsav. KMC has decided to allot a total of Rs 50,000 for celebrating the two anniversaries through official functions – Rs 20,000 for Vivek Utsav and Rs 30,000 for Subhas Utsav.

The celebration would be taking place in all the 144 wards under the jurisdiction of the KMC.

রাজ্য সরকার স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ ও নেতাজী সুভাষ উৎসব পালন করবে প্রতি ওয়ার্ডে

জানুয়ারি মাসের ১২ তারিখ স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ ও ২৩ তারিখ নেতাজী সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর জন্মদিন।
রাজ্য সরকারের যুবকল্যাণ দপ্তরের খরচে কলকাতা পুরসভার সবকটি ওয়ার্ডেই ওই দুই মনিষীর জন্মদিন কেন্দ্রিক বিবেক উৎসব এবং সুভাষ উৎসব পালন করা হবে।
এর জন্য ১৪৪টি ওয়ার্ডের প্রতিটির জন্য রাজ্য সরকারের সংশ্লিষ্ট দপ্তর মোট ৫০হাজার টাকা করে দিচ্ছে। এর মধ্যে বিবেক উৎসবের জন্য ওয়ার্ড পিছু ২০ হাজার ও সুভাষ উৎসবে ওয়ার্ড পিছু ৩০ হাজার টাকা করে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today expressed shock over the Central Government’s recent reply to an RTI query regarding Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

“I am shocked to see this unilateral decision of the Central Government without evidence. Netaji is a great son of the soil. Our state, the country and the whole world are proud of him,” she said.

“Any matter involving a person of his stature does not deserve to be handled in such a casual manner. I have drawn the attention of Hon’ble Prime Minister to this matter and has sought the considered stand of Central Government in this regard,” the CM wrote on her Facebook page.

Bengal Government had declassified all files related to Netaji in September, 2015.

নেতাজিকে নিয়ে কেন্দ্রের আরটিআই এর উত্তরে বিষ্ময় প্রকাশ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের

নেতাজি সুভাষ চন্দ্র বসুর মৃত্যুরহস্য সংক্রান্ত এক আরটিআই প্রশ্নে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের জবাবে দিয়েছে তাতে বিষ্ময় প্রকাশ করলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তিনি বলেন, “নেতাজির মৃত্যুরহস্যের ব্যাপারে কোনও প্রমাণ ছাড়া কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার যেভাবে একতরফা জবাব দিয়েছে তাতে আমি বিস্মিত। নেতাজি এদেশের এক কৃতি সন্তান। আমাদের রাজ্য, আমাদের দেশ তথা সারা বিশ্ব তাঁকে নিয়ে গর্ব অনুভব করে।”

তিনি ফেসবুকে লেখেন, “তাঁর মতো মর্যাদাপূর্ণ কোনও ব্যাক্তির কোনও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যাপার এত দায়িত্বজ্ঞ্যানহীনভাবে দেখা উচিত নয়। আমি এই ব্যাপারে মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করেছি; কেন্দ্র এই ব্যাপারে তাদের অবস্থান স্পষ্ট করুক”।

West Bengal Government is celebrating ‘Subhas Utasav’ to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The festival is being organised by the Department of Youth Affairs, Govt of West Bengal. The festivities began on 22nd January and will also continue today.

The official function of the State government to observe Netaji’s birth anniversary took place at Darjeeling Mall today at 12 noon. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said: “Netaji’s birthday is as important for us just like Independence Day or Republic Day.”

“The birth anniversary of Netaji is observed every year but nobody knows about his death. This is a tragedy,” she said

The Chief Minister said, “Netaji was a leader of the country and a true leader does not discriminate but works for all. Netaji had a very clear vision for the country, he conceived the Planning Commission.” She also paid her respects to those who served in the Indian National Army.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the State Government had declassified all Netaji Files in possession with the government. She announced that the Government has allotted Rs 10 lakh for the renovation of the house where Netaji stayed in the Hills.

Celebrations in the past took place in Kolkata but on the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the official celebration of Netaji’s birth anniversary is held in Darjeeling since 2014.

Many programmes and competitions including processions, exhibitions on the life and work of Subhas Chandra, quizzes on him, debates, sit & draw competition, essay writing and other events are being organised across the State to mark Netaji’s 120th birth anniversary.

 

দেশের ভবিষ্যতের ব্যাপারে নেতাজীর পরিকল্পনা ছিল সুস্পষ্ট: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নেতাজী সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর ১২০তম জন্মবার্ষিকী রাজ্যজুড়ে পালিত হচ্ছে ‘সুভাষ উ९সব’। রাজ্য যুবকল্যান দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে গতকাল শুরু হয়েছে এই উ९সব।

অনুষ্ঠানে  বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, স্বাধীনতা দিবস, প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের মত নেতাজীর জন্মদিনও আমাদের কাছে সমান গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

তিনি বলেন, “আমরা প্রতি বছর নেতাজীর জন্মদিন পালন করি কিন্তু তাঁর মৃত্যুদিন সম্পর্কে কোন তথ্য আমাদের জানা নেই। এটা একটা ট্রাজেডি”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “নেতাজী দেশের নেতা ছিলেন। প্রকৃত নেতা কখনো বিভেদ করে না। কোনো বিভেদকারী দেশের নেতা হতে পারে না।নেতাজী দূরদর্শী ছিলেন। দেশের ভবিষ্যতের ব্যাপারে নেতাজীর পরিকল্পনা ছিল সুস্পষ্ট। তিনি প্ল্যানিং কমিশনের পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন”। আজাদ হিন্দ বাহিনীর সেনানীদের প্রতিও শ্রদ্ধা জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও জানান, নেতাজী পাহাড়ে যে বাড়িতে থাকতেন তা সংস্কারের জন্য রাজ্য সরকার ১০ লক্ষ টাকা বরাদ্দ করেছে এবং নেতাজীর ফাইলও প্রকাশ করেছে রাজ্য সরকার।

এর আগে সরকারি অনুষ্ঠান হত কলকাতায়; মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্যোগে ২০১৪ সাল থেকে নেতাজীর জন্মবার্ষিকী দার্জিলিঙে পালন করা হয়। নেতাজীর জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে সারা রাজ্যজুড়ে বসে আঁকো, প্রবন্ধ লেখার প্রতিযোগিতা, পদযাত্রা, প্রদর্শনী, ক্যুইজ ও বিতর্কসভার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।

Following declassification of 50 files on 29 March 2016 relating to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, it has been revealed that a file (Number 12 (226)/56PM) was destroyed on 6 March, 1972, “certain documents” of another file (Number 23(156)51PM) was also destroyed, and another file (Number 2(381)60-66PM) was not traceable.

All India Trinamool Congress demands a probe into the Netaji files that have been reported destroyed and/or untraceable during the Congress regime.

“We are deeply disappointed by this misdeed on the part of the then Central Government led by Congress Party in destroying files that would reveal the truth about our greatest national hero, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and condemn the irresponsibility of such acts,” said Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Chief Whip, Rajya Sabha.

“It is incumbent upon the Government of India to constitute a high-powered committee in public interest and unearth the true nature and contents of the Netaji files, and also to ascertain the names of the persons who failed in the safekeeping of the files,” he added.

It is also reported that the Central government led by the Congress party filed a review petition in the Delhi High Court to avoid the publication of the book ‘A History of the Indian National Army, 1942-45’, the draft of which was prepared by the Historical Division of the Defence Ministry of the Government in 1949-50.

All India Trinamool Congress also urges upon the Central Government to publish the book without further delay.

 

কং-আমলে নষ্ট হয়ে যাওয়া নেতাজির ফাইলের তদন্ত চাইল তৃণমূল

২৯শে মার্চ ২০১৬ তারিখে নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসু সংক্রান্ত ৫০টি নথি প্রকাশের পর জানা গেছে যে ১৯৭২ সালের ৬ই মার্চ একটি ফাইল (Number 12 (226)/56PM) নষ্ট হয়ে যায়, ওপর একটি ফাইলের (Number 23(156)51PM) কিছু অংশ নষ্ট করা হয় এবং আরও একটি ফাইল (Number 2(381)60-66PM) পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না।

কংগ্রেসের শাসনকালে নেতাজির যেসব ফাইলগুলি নষ্ট হয়েছে সেগুলির তদন্ত দাবি করল সর্ব ভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস।

“দেশনায়ক নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসু সংক্রান্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সব নথি যেভাবে কংগ্রেস আমলে নষ্ট করা হয়েছে তা অত্যন্ত হতাশাজনক। এই দায়িত্বজ্ঞানহীন কাজের আমরা তীব্র নিন্দা করছি,”  বলেছেন রাজ্যসভার তৃণমূলের মুখ্য সচেতক সুখেন্দু শেখর রায়।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “জনস্বার্থের খাতিরে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের উচিত অবিলম্বে একটি high-powered কমিটি গঠন করে নেতাজি সংক্রান্ত ফাইলগুলির সত্য উদঘাটন করা ও যারা এই নথিগুলি রক্ষণাবেক্ষণে ব্যর্থ হয়েছেন তাদের নাম জনসমক্ষে আনা”।

১৯৪৯-৫০ সালে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের প্রতিরক্ষা দপ্তর ‘A History of the Indian National Army, 1942-45’ শীর্ষক একটি বই প্রকাশ করার উদ্যোগ নেয়। পরবর্তীতে কংগ্রেস পরিচালিত সরকার এই বইটির প্রকাশনার বিরুদ্ধে দিল্লি হাইকোর্টে একটি রিভিউ পিটিশন দাখিল করে।

সর্ব ভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কাছে বইটি যথাশীঘ্র প্রকাশ করার আর্জি জানাচ্ছে।

Today is the 119th birth anniversary of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, one of the greatest freedom fighters India has produced.

The West Bengal Government celebrates his birth anniversary with much fanfare. Three-day celebrations of ‘Subhas Utsav’ is being held in every corner of the State.

This is the third year in a row that the official celebrations by the West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee are being held at the Mall in Darjeeling. The Chief Minister inaugurated the programmes at 12 pm.

Incidentally, the West Bengal Government last year became the only State Government to declassify is the only State Government to declassify all files related to Netaji.

On her Twitter page, WB CM wrote:

The salient points of the Chief Minister’s speech are as follows:

  • The country deserves to know what happened to Netaji, who fought for the independence of our country.
  • 75 yrs ago Netaji left the country but we still don’t know what happened to him after that; people deserve to know the truth.
  • We want to see the files which would bring to light the details of Netaji after he left this country.
  • Netaji must be given the title of ‘Leader of the Nation,’ he deserves this honour.
  • The truth about Netaji must come out through documentation and proof.
  • It is our responsibility towards the youth and the future generations to share with them the truth about Netaji.
  • The national anthem, the national song and the slogan, ‘Jai Hind’ all came from Bengal. We are proud of our heritage.
  • We congratulate all the people of Darjeeling who work hard to develop the region. That should be our only aim.
  • We have spent Rs 131 crore already for the Tamang, Sherpa, Lepcha, Bhutia and Mangar Development Boards.
  • Two more development boards – for the Limbu and Khanbu-Rai communities – will soon be formed.
  • Netaji was a true leader of the nation. A true leader does not need to reiterate that he is a leader.

 

নেতাজির শেষ জীবনের সত্যতা প্রকাশ্যে আসা উচিতঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী 

ভারতবর্ষের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামীদের মধ্যে অন্যতম মহান নেতা নেতাজি সুভাষ চন্দ্র বসু আজ ১১৯তম জন্মবার্ষিকী।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার নেতাজির জন্মদিবস আড়ম্বরে পালন করে থাকে। এই উপলক্ষে তিনদিন-ব্যাপী ‘সুভাষ উতৎব’ সারা রাজ্যে পালন করা হচ্ছে।

এই নিয়ে তৃতীয়বার পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় নেতাজির জন্মবার্ষিকী দার্জিলিং-এর ম্যালে উদ্ঘোধন করলেন। দুপুর ১২-টায় এই অনুষ্ঠানের উদ্বোধন হয়েছে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ একমাত্র রাজ্য যারা কিনা নেতাজি সংক্রান্ত যাবতীয় গোপন ফাইল প্রকাশ করেছে।

 

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ভাষনের প্রধাণ বক্তব্যঃ

  • নেতাজি দেশের জন্য লড়েছিলেন
  • নেতাজি ৭৫ বছর আগে দেশ ছেড়ে চলে গিয়েছিলেন, আর ফেরেননি
  • দেশের মানুষের নেতাজির শেষ জীবন সম্বন্ধে জানার অধিকার আছে
  • সুভাষ চন্দ্র বসু বেঁচে আছেন কিনা সেই ফাইল আমরা চাই
  • নেতাজি সুভাষ চন্দ্র বসু হলেন জাতির নেতা, দেশের নেতা
  • সম্মানের সঙ্গে নেতাজি বেঁচে থাকবেন সবার মনে
  • রটিয়ে দেওয়া হল তিনি মারা গিয়েছে বিমান দুর্ঘটনায়, তাহলে আজও কেন ডি এন এ টেস্ট কেন করা হয়নি?
  • আমাদের উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ গুলি খুব ভালো কাজ করছে
  • জয় হিন্দ স্লোগান দিয়েছিলেন নেতাজি
  • আপনারা গরিবদের জন্য কাজ করুন, জনতার জন্য কাজ করুন, দার্জিলিংএর জন্য কাজ করুন
  • নেতাজির সঙ্গে অন্যায় হয়েছিল, অবিচার হয়েছিল আমরা এর সুবিচার চাই, এর কৈফিয়ত চাই
  • নেতাজির সঙ্গে রাশিয়ায় কি হয়েছিল তা আমরা জানতে চাই
  • তামাং, লেপচা, শেরপা, ভুটিয়া এবং মাঙ্গার বোর্ড তৈরির জন্য আমরা ১৩১ কোটি টাকা খরচ করেছি

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee has reached north Bengal for a four-day visit.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate ‘Bengal Safari’ Park today on her way up to Darjeeling.

On January 22, she will be present at the foundation day celebration of the Sherpa Cultural Board and the prize distribution ceremony of the Himal Terai Dooars Sports Festival. Both the programmes will be held at St Joseph’s School in Singamari, Darjeeling.

On January 23, the Chief Minister will attend the 119th birth anniversary programme of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Darjeeling Chowrastha, like previous years. The programme is organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.

She will then leave for Sukna on January 24 to flag off a bicycle rally of students. The Chief Minister will return to Kolkata on the same day.

২১ শে জানুয়ারি পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় উত্তরবঙ্গ পরিদর্শনে যাচ্ছেন।

২১ শে জানুয়ারি বেঙ্গল সাফারি পার্ক উদ্বোধন করবেন  মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সেখান থেকে তিনি দার্জিলিং এর উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা হবেন।

২২ শে জানুয়ারি শেরপা পর্ষদ বোর্ড-এর প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবসের অনুষ্ঠান এবং হিমাল-তরাই-ডুয়ার্স ক্রীড়া উত্সবের পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থাকবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ২ টি অনুষ্ঠানই হবে দার্জিলিং-এর শিঙ্গামারির সেন্ট জোসেফ স্কুলে।

গত বছরের মত এ বছরও ২৩ শে জানুয়ারি তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি দপ্তর আয়োজিত নেতাজির জন্মবার্ষিকী অনুষ্ঠানে দার্জিলিং এর চৌরাস্তায় উপস্থিত থাকবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এর পর তিনি শুকনার উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দেবেন। ২৪ শে জানুয়ারি শুকনায় একটি বাইসাইকেল র‍্যালির পতাকা উত্তোলন করবেন তিনি।

একই দিনে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কলকাতায় ফিরবেন।

While attending a special programme organised by the Netaji Research Bureau to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s “Great Escape” (Maha Nishkraman), West Bengal Chief Minister reiterated her demand that the truth about last days of Netaji must come out.

The Netaji Mystery

Calling Netaji “Leader of the Nation”, WB CM said it is a matter of national shame that we know the date of birth of Netaji but not the date of his death. She wondered if Netaji died in 1945 why did snooping on Bose family continue after independence. She also said some light must be shed on whether he visited Russia after his disappearance.

WB CM also iterated the demand of DNA test on the ashes at Renkoji temple. She said Netaji was a popular figure globally and the next generation must know the full truth about him.

The Great Escape

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated an exhibition to mark 75 years of Netaji’s ‘Great Escape’ at Netaji Bhavan, the residence from where in 1941 he had escaped house confinement.

She also unveiled a marble plaque in front of the entrance of Netaji Bhavan to commemorate the route Netaji’s nephew Sisir Bose had taken to drive him out.

After the declassification of Netaji files, Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government today made public, the files of the cabinet meetings that were held during 1938-47, which was the crucial pre-independence era.

Reiterating the fact that she believes in transparency, the Chief Minister said: “Just talking about Digital India is not enough. It must be followed by action. Digitisation of files is one such step taken by us. We hope the stand taken by our government regarding declassification of files will be adopted by other governments also.”

A total of 401 files have been declassified today and in future the government plans to declassify files of post-independence era, WB CM said.

“In this age of internet and social media, we believe in transparency. That is why we declassified files. People must know the truth,” she added.

After the Netaji files, West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday indicated that the Bengal government would make public next week the minutes of the cabinet meetings from 1938-47 — the crucial pre-Independence decade.

Ruing that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s contribution and legacy haven’t been assessed properly, Mamata Banerjee told the state assembly that the Centre should follow the state’s example and open up the files it has on the freedom fighter.

“We have declassified 64 Netaji files. The immense contribution of Netaji has not been evaluated properly. We feel that the Centre should follow us and declassify the files,” the Chief Minister said.

She added that her government would also digitise files of cabinet decisions taken by the British administration between 1937 and 1947.
