The Birth Anniversary of Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated with due respect in every part of Bengal on the auspicious Pochishe Boisakh.

Like every year the State Information & Cultural Affairs department held a function at Cathedral Road to mark Kobiguru’s birth anniversary. The function was graced by the Chief Minister along with artistes, singers, intellectuals, dignitaries from various embassies.

The CM said: “People of Bengal consider Rabindra Jayanti as a special day in the year. Our life is incomplete without it. Tagore is evergreen, timeless. He is bishwa kobi. He is bishwa sera.”

The Chief Minister also said, “Our day starts with Rabindranath. His lines stay with us through our daily work. Our day ends with his words. As long as we exist, Rabindranath will continue to live in our hearts. This life is meaningless without him.”

The celebration of Rabindranath’s birth anniversary will continue for 15 days (Kobi Pokkho) from May 10-24, 2017. Cultural programmes will be held at Rabindra Sadan auditorium and complex, Sishir Mancha and Bangla Academy. An exhibition on ‘Tagore and his thoughts on nationalism’ will be held at Gaganendra Pradarshanshahla.

The Wildlife Division of the Forest Department has initiated ‘Forest Bathing’ on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti. Forest bathing describes the practice of paying a short, leisurely visit to a forest for health benefits. Rabindra Sangeet will be played in the forest during the Forest Bathing programme.

আজ ২৫ শে বৈশাখ। কবিগুরু রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের জন্মদিন। এই উপলক্ষে সারা বাংলা জুড়ে আজ পালিত হচ্ছে রবীন্দ্রজয়ন্তী।

প্রতি বছরের মত এবছরও রবীন্দ্র সদন সংলগ্ন ক্যাথিড্রাল রোড মঞ্চে বিকেল ৫টায় একটি অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি উৎসব। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সহ বিভিন্ন শিল্পীরা, গায়ক-গায়িকা, বুদ্ধিজীবী সহ অনেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন অনুষ্ঠানে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “সাধারণ নাগরিক রবীন্দ্র জয়ন্তী দিনটিকে একটি বিশেষ দিন হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করেন। এটা ছাড়া আমাদের জীবন পূর্ণ হয় না। রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর চিরকালের, চিরদিনের। তিনি বিশ্ব কবি, তিনি বিশ্বসেরা”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর বিশ্বকবি, আমাদের প্রাণের কবি, আমরা যতদিন বাঁচব এই নাম আমাদের হৃদয়ে লেখা থাকবে”।

আগামী ১০-২৪ মে ১৫ দিন ধরে কবিপক্ষের অনুষ্ঠান হবে রবীন্দ্রসদন প্রেক্ষাগৃহ, রবীন্দ্রসদন মুক্তমঞ্চ, শিশির মঞ্চ ও বাংলা অ্যাকাডেমির সভাঘরে।

রবীন্দ্রনাথের স্বদেশভাবনার ওপর একটি প্রদর্শনীও হবে। আগামী ৯-১৫ মে গগনেন্দ্র প্রদর্শশালায় হবে এই অনুষ্ঠান।

Today afternoon, Patha Chatterjee, the State Education Minister addressed a press conference at Nabanna.

In it, he criticised the Centre over the difference in the standard of questions set for Bengali-medium students, vis-à-vis the English questions.

“The manner in which the Centre is attacking Bengal and its talents, and acting against the interests of the students of the State, is condemnable”.

He said, “They (the Centre) said there will be one exam but the Bengali question paper is much more difficult than the English paper”.

So, “students of ICSE and CBSE boards are at a position of advantage over Bengali boards” since the “exam is conducted in English”.

He further said, “The Centre tried to do the same thing for the engineering entrance exam but we opposed the move. In the name of one exam, how could they have two different question papers for different languages?”

“This is the Centre’s tactic to deprive Bengal and neglect the talent of the State. Bengal cannot be deprived like this”.

He stated, “We will not bow down to this. We are writing to the CBSE on this issue. We will lodge a strong protest”.

NEET ইস্যুতে কেন্দ্রের কড়া সমালোচনা রাজ্য সরকারের। আজ দুপুরে রাজ্যের শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় নবান্নে এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলন করে বলেন বাংলার মেধাকে আটকে দিতেই কেন্দ্র এই কৌশল নিয়েছে।

তিনি বলেন, “কেন্দ্র যেভাবে বাংলার মেধা ও বাংলার ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ওপর আক্রমণ করছে এককথায় তা নিয়ে নিন্দার কোন ভাষা নেই। বলা হল অভিন্ন পরীক্ষা হবে কিন্তু দুরকম প্রশ্নপত্র হল” তিনি আরও বলেন, “ইংলিশের চেয়ে বাংলার প্রশ্নপত্র অনেক বেশি কঠিন”।

“ICSE/CBSE বোর্ডের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা অনেক বেশি সুবিধা পাবে বঞ্চিত হবে বাংলা বোর্ডের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা। একই কায়দায় ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং করারও চেষ্টা করেছিল, আমরা চিঠি দিয়ে বলেছিলাম এই সিদ্ধান্ত ভুল, আমরা মানব না। অভিন্ন প্রশ্নপত্রের নামে দু ধরনের প্রশ্নপত্র করে তা যে কাজ করলেন তা নিঃসন্দেহে বাংলাকে বঞ্চিত করার কৌশল,” বলেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী।

“বাংলাকে বঞ্চিত করার কৌশল ঠিক করেছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। এভাবে বাংলার মেধাকে আটকে রাখা যাবে না। বাংলাকে বঞ্চিত করা যাবে না। আমরা এই কৌশলের কাছে মাথা নত করব না। আমরা CBSE বোর্ডকে চিঠি দেব। এর তীব্র প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছি।”

This is news to rejoice for food lovers: ‘Pochishe Boishakh’ (Baisakh 25, or May 9) onwards – which is Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary – for three days, West Bengal Fisheries Development Corporation, under the State Fisheries Department, has laid out a veritable feast for all and sundry.

On these three days, Rabindranath Tagore’s favourite foods would be available for savouring at Nalban Food Park in Kolkata, and considering the food connoisseur that he was, it’s going to be something to remember.

The festival has been named ‘Janmadiner Khaowadawa’ (Birthday Feast). The price of each dish ranges from Rs 60 to Rs 100. The plates and bowls to be served in would also be similar to those used during Tagore’s time, but they would be of clay.

Most of the delicacies have been selected from the book, Amish O Niramish Randhan (Non-vegetarian and Vegetarian Food) by Prajnasundari Devi, a niece of Rabindranath Tagore, published in 1900. Other sources for the foods include old recipes from Thakurbari.

Tagore had a particular habit which has made Thakurbari cuisine what it is: wherever he went for a feast, he would carry back the menu with him; then he would instruct his home chefs to rustle up the same dishes, with additions of his own, thus creating new dishes.

Since fish was a particular favourite of Rabindranath Tagore, the cuisine at Thakurbari had a larger proportion of fish dishes, and hence, so would the feast at Nalban. Different types of kebabs were another of his favourites. The Nobel laureate was also fond of cuisines from Spain, England and Turkey.

Some of the food items are as follows: jackfruit fish (catla fish with jackfruit), spicy boal fish, pulao sprinkled with fish cubes, soured mourola fish and pnuti fish, shoal fish with unripe mango, potoler dolma (stuffed potol) with ardh or boal fish, fried chapila fish, prawns in poppy seed-and-onion paste, prawns in methi leaves and home-made curd.

রবির প্রিয় পদ নিয়ে কবিপ্রণাম

খাদ্যপ্রেমীদের জন্য নতুন আকর্ষণ – রবি ঠাকুরের পছন্দের খাবারে এবার আম-বাঙালিও কবজি ডোবানোর সুযোগ পাবে। ২৫শে বৈশাখ থেকে পরপর তিনদিন রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তরের অধীন ফিশারিজ ডেভেলপমেন্ট কর্পোরেশন এই উৎসবের আয়োজন করছে।

কলকাতার নলবন ফুড পার্কে আইয়োজিত হবে এই উৎসব। উৎসবের নাম দেওয়া হয়েছে ‘জন্মদিনের খাওয়াদাওয়া’। তিনদিন ব্যাপী এই উৎসবে গানবাজনা সহ থাকছে এলাহি আসর, ঠিক যেমন ঠাকুরবাড়িতে হত।

শুধু ঠাকুরবাড়ির রান্নাই নয়, সেখানে যে পাত্রে এইসব খাবার পরিবেশন করা হত সেইসব পাত্রও থাকছে এখানে। তবে সেগুলি মাটির। প্রতিটি ডিশের মূল্য ৬০ টাকা থেকে ১০০ টাকা।

বেশিরভাগ রান্নাই নেওয়া হয়েছে কবির ভাইজি প্রজ্ঞাসুন্দরীদেবীর বই ‘আমিষ ও নিরামিষ রন্ধন’ থেকে। বাকি রান্নার পদগুলি ঠাকুরবাড়ির পুরনো রেসিপি থেকে নেওয়া।

রবি ঠাকুরের পছন্দের খাবার ছিল জ্যাকফ্রুট ফিশ, বোয়াল মাছের ঝোল, মাছের কিউব দেওয়া পোলাও, মৌরলা কিংবা পুঁটি মাছের টক, আম দিয়ে তৈরী শোল মাছের পদ, পটলের দোলমায় আড় বা বোয়াল মাছের পুর। আমপোড়া শরবতও তাঁর খুব প্রিয় ছিল। গরমের দুপুরে জমিদারির কাজ দেখভালের ফাঁকে ফাঁকে এই শরবত ছিল কবির এনার্জি বুস্টার।

কাবাব তো বটেই, টার্কি, লন্ডন বা স্পেনের বিভিন্ন খাবারও ভালবাসতেন রবীন্দ্রনাথ। তবে তাঁর সবচেয়ে পছন্দের পদ ছিল মাছ।

Bringing back peace in Jangalmahal is the biggest success story of the Maa Mati Manush Government. Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in Jangalmahal is a thing of the past. The Bengal Government, under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has been able to spread the light of development in the the vast area, once infamous for being a hub of extremist activities.

The Bengal Chief Minister, who has visited the area comprising the districts of Bankura, Purulia and Jhargam districts more than hundred times since 2011, has given the area a new ray of hope.

From providing rice at Rs 2/kg to the tribal people and the poor to setting up new schools, colleges, super-speciality hospitals and stadiums, the Bengal Government under Mamata Banerjee has taken all the necessary steps to enable the people of Jangalmahal to lead a peaceful and violence-free life, and hence provided the relief from which they were deprived.

The tribal people have received benefits like forest patta, kendu industry workers have received benefits, students have received bicycles under Sabuj Sathi and scholarships under Kanyashree. The youth of the area now take part in the annual Jangalmahal Cup, initiated by Mamata Banerjee.

Numerous water supply projects and rural road projects have given a boost to the villages in the interiors of Jangalmahal. Tourism has been given a special impetus. As a result of so many measures taken, the locals are thriving.

In fact, after years of hardship, Jangalmahal is smiling again. The Bengal Chief Minister has rightly claimed that bringing back peace in the Jangalmahal region is the biggest success story of the Maa Mati Manush Government.

 

 

জঙ্গলমহলে শান্তি ফিরিয়ে আনাই মা মাটি মানুষের সরকারের সব থেকে বড় সাফল্য

মা মাটি মানুষ সরকারের সাফল্যের মুকুটে সবচেয়ে বড় পালকটি হল জঙ্গলমহলে শান্তি ফিরিয়ে আনা। নক্সাল হিংসার ফলে জঙ্গলমহল জুড়ে ছিল অশান্তির বাতাবরণ। অশান্ত জঙ্গলমহল আজ হাসছে। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে আজ জঙ্গলমহল আজ উন্নয়নে সামিল হয়েছে।

২০১১ তে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বাঁকুড়া, ঝাড়গ্রাম ও পুরুলিয়া জেলায় শতাধিক বার গেছেন ও জঙ্গলমহলবাসীদের দিয়েছেন উন্নয়নের দিশা। ২টাকা কিলো দরে চাল প্রদান, নতুন স্কুল-কলেজ-বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল থেকে স্টেডিয়াম – শান্তির পরিবেশ তৈরী করতে সরকার নিয়েছেন সব পদক্ষেপ। এতদিন যে মানুষরা বঞ্চিত ছিল তারা পেয়েছেন উন্নয়নের আস্বাদ।

আদিবাসীরা পেয়েছেন জঙ্গলের পাট্টা, কেন্দু শিল্পের সঙ্গে জড়িতেরা পেয়েছেন সুবিধা, সবুজ সাথী প্রকল্পে পড়ুয়ারা পেয়েছে সাইকেল, কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পে মেয়েরা পেয়েছে স্কলারশিপ। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উদ্যোগে বার্ষিক জঙ্গলমহল কাপে অংশ নেয় স্থানীয় যুবরা।

Trinamool Youth Congress President Abhishek Banerjee today took part in a padayatra in Pujali, South 24 Parganas, while campaigning for the municipal polls of the Pujali Municipality. The four km padayatra which started from Pujali Oriental More and continued till Chhoto Battala on the Sunday morning saw thousands of people walking along with the fiery youth icon.

Abhishek Banerjee said that Trinamool will win in all the 16 wards of the Pujali Municipality. He said that the opposition will be washed out. Trinamool has no fear, the more Trinamool will be threatened, it will be more strong, he said.

Abhishek Banerjee said that Pujali did not see and development during the Left rule. 80% of the water supply project has been completed in the area, he said. He stressed on the development of the area and said that the Hindutwa factor will not work here. He asked all party workers to work united against the combined opposition force.

বিরোধীরা দাঁত ফোটাতে পারবে না: অভিষেক ব্যানার্জি

বিরোধীরা দাঁত ফোটাতে পারবেন না পূজালি পুরসভায়। এবারও তৃণমূলই জিতবে। ২০ মে পূজালিতে তৃণমূলের বিজয় মিছিল বেরোবে। রবিবার পূজালির ওরিয়েন্টাল মোড় থেকে প্রায় ৪ কিমি পায়ে হেঁটে ছোট বটতলা পর্যন্ত মহামিছিল করেন সাংসদ অভিষেক ব্যানার্জি। তার পর ছোট বটতলাতেই তিনি সভা করেন। সেই সভাতেই তিনি এই ঘোষণা করেন।

এদিন সভায় তিনি বিরোধীদের বিরুদ্ধে রীতিমতো তোপ দাগেন। বলেন, ‘‌পূজালির ১৬টি আসনেই জিতবে তৃণমূল। বিরোধীদের কোনও অস্তিত্বই থাকবে না। তারা দাঁত ফোটাতে পারবে না।’‌ তৃণমূল সাংসদ সাফ জানিয়ে দিলেন, এবারও বিরোধীশূন্য করেই পূজালিতে ঘাসফুল ফুটবে। তিনি সিবিআই দিয়ে তৃণমূলকে ভয় দেখানোর জবাবে বলেন, ‘‌যতই ভয় দেখান না কেন, তৃণমূল ভয় পায় না। এখানে ভয় দেখিয়ে তৃণমূলকে হারানো যাবে না। তূণমূলকে ধমকালে–‌চমকালে তৃণমূলের শক্তি আরও বাড়বে।’‌

তাঁর অভিযোগ, ‘‌বাম আমলে পূজালির কোনও উন্নয়নই হয়নি। তৃণমূল এসে এখানে জলপ্রকল্পের কাজ ৮০ শতাংশ শেষ করেছে। পূজালির মানুষ উন্নয়ন চান। আর এখানে সেই উন্নয়নই হয়েছে। প্রচুর টাকার উন্নয়নের কাজ হয়েছে এই পুরসভায়। তাই কোনও হিন্দুত্ব তত্ত্ব এখানে চলবে না। মানুষ তৃণমূলকেই ভোট দিয়ে জেতাবেন।’ তিনি এদিনও ঐক্যবদ্ধ লড়াইয়ের ওপর জোর দেন। বলেন, ‘ঐক্যবদ্ধভাবে লড়াই করে এই পুরসভার প্রতিটি আসনেই জিততে হবে।’ এদিন তিনি অভিযোগ করে বলেন, ‘এখানে বিরোধীদের গোপন আঁতাত তৈরি হয়েছে। সামনে যা–ই দেখাক না কেন, ভেতরে ভেতরে সিপিএম, কংগ্রেস ও বিজেপি আঁতাত করে লড়াইয়ে নেমেছে।’

এদিন তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিলেন বজবজের বিধায়ক অশোক দেব, শওকত মোল্লা, গৌতম দাশগুপ্ত প্রমুখ।

Sonar Kella Udyan, a theme park dedicated to one of Satyajit Ray’s masterpieces, Sonar Kella has been recently inaugurated in Newtown in Kolkata.

Scenes from the film have been recreated at the park. The famous desert scene where Feluda, his nephew, Topshe and writer-friend Jatayu are crossing the desert on camel-back has been recreated with the help of models.

Then, there are models of cacti, associated with Jayatu’s famous question to Feluda on whether camels eat cacti after segregating thorns. There are date palm trees, wall paintings depicting some scenes from the film and many more things.

The desert of Rajasthan has been created impeccably.

 

সত্যজিৎ রায়ের ‘সোনার কেল্লার’ আদলে থিম পার্ক নিউটাউনে

জোয় শহরের বিভিন্ন মণ্ডপে নানা থিম দেখে অভ্যস্ত মানুষ। তবে সে তো মাত্র চার দিনের দৃষ্টিসুখ। বছরভরই তেমন থিমের আনন্দ মিলবে নিউ টাউনে। সৌজন্যে, নিউ টাউন কলকাতা ডেভলপমেন্ট অথরিটি (এনকেডিএ)।

সংস্থাটি ওই অঞ্চলের সব ক’টি উদ্যানে সৌন্দর্যায়নের প্রকল্প হাতে নিয়েছে। বাগানগুলোকে মানুষের চোখে আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতেই এই থিমের ভাবনা। শিশু অথবা বয়স্কদের পার্কগুলিকে এক এক রকম থিমে সাজিয়ে তোলার কাজ শুরুও হয়েছে।

শনিবার বিকেলে তেমনই একটি থিম-পার্কের সূচনা করলেন রাজ্যের পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী ফিরহাদ হাকিম। নিউটাউনের বিএ ব্লকের পার্কের থিম হিসেবে বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে বিখ্যাত ছবি ‘সোনার কেল্লা’। সত্যজিৎ রায় পরিচালিত ওই ছবির কিছু দৃশ্য হাজির হয়েছে উদ্যানে।

পাঁচিলের গায়ে ফুটে উঠেছে সিনেমার নানা কিংবদন্তি হয়ে যাওয়া দৃশ্য। ছবিতে, ভাস্কর্যে পার্ক জুড়ে বিখ্যাত ফেলু-তোপসে-জটায়ু ত্রয়ীর দেখা মিলছে। ‘সোনার কেল্লা’র সেই রাজস্থানি মরুভূমির আবহ জীবন্ত করে তুলতে সওয়ারি-সহ উটের মূর্তিও বসেছে। শুধু চলচ্চিত্রের অনুকরণেই ভাস্কর্য বা ছবি নয়, পার্কে বসার জন্য মানানসই প্যাগোডাও থাকছে।

আশা করাই যায়, নিউ টাউনের পাশাপাশি শহরের অন্যান্য এলাকার মানুষের কাছেও পার্কগুলির আকর্ষণ বাড়াবে থিমের ব্যবহার।

In a sharp attack on the BJP, Bengal Chief Minister called them a party of rioters. She said they do not do any work and only make tall speeches and create divisions within people.

She slammed a BJP leader who had made insulting personal remarks about her: “How dare they question who my parents are, what is my religion? How arrogant of them. One BJP leader asked a few days ago if I am a male, a female or a transgender. How do they get the audacity?”

She reminded the BJP that religion stands for peace and love and not for hatred. “We worship Maa Durga and Maa Kali. We celebrate Eid too. We go to churches as well during Christmas. I am a Hindu. I perform Chandi path. We have Kali Puja at home. But that does not stop me from attending Eid celebration. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda are true Hindus, not them.”

She also warned the BJP that “if anyone tries to defame Bengal I will stand up to them; this is my matribhoomi and my karmbhoomi”. Regarding repeated incidents across the country of mobs beating up people on suspicions of possessing beef, the Chief Minister said, “Who are they to decide whether a person will eat goat’s meat or buffalo’s meat or beef or vegetables? Why does an actor have to give a clarification for the meat he ate? They want to control what a person will eat, wear, read or write. Binash kaale buddhi naash (loss of wisdom during times of destruction).”

 

বিজেপি দাঙ্গাবাজের দলঃ মালদায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

এদিন মালদার জনসভা থেকে আরও একবার বিজেপিকে কড়া ভাষায় আক্রমণ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, “বিজেপি দাঙ্গাবাজের দল। ওরা কোন কাজ করে না, শুধু ভাষণ দেয় আর মানুষের মধ্যে বিভেদ সৃষ্টি করে”।

তিনি বলেন, “আমার মা কে, বাবা কে, আমার ধর্ম কি এইসব প্রশ্ন করছে। একজন বিজেপি নেতা জিজ্ঞেস করছেন আমি মেয়ে, ছেলে না হিজরা। কত আস্পর্ধা ওদের?”

তার কথায়, “ধর্ম মানে শান্তি, ধর্ম মানে ভালোবাসা। ধর্ম মানে হিংসা নয়। আমি মা দুর্গা, মা কালীকে যেমন পুজো করি, ঈদ যেমন পালন করি, বড়দিনে চার্চেও যাই। আমি চণ্ডী পাঠ করি, আমার বাড়িতে কালী পুজো হয়। কই কোন মুসলিম বন্ধু তো আমায় বলেন না কেন আমি ঈদে যাই?”

তিনি হুঁশিয়ারি দেন, “বাংলাকে যদি কেউ বদনাম করে আমি তা মেনে নেব না। কারণ বাংলা আমার মাতৃভূমি, কর্মভূমি। মানুষ ছাগল, মোষ না গরুর মাংস খাবে না লাউ বা কুমড়ো খাবে সেটা ওরা ঠিক করার কে? একজন অভিনেত্রীকে কৈফিয়ত দিতে হচ্ছে সে কিসের মাংস খেয়েছে, কেন তাকে কৈফিয়ত দিতে হবে ? মানুষ কি খাবে, কি পড়বে, কি লিখবে, কি পরবে সেটা ওরা ঠিক করার কে? বিনাশকালে বুদ্ধিনাশ”।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted the BJP for running false propaganda on social media. She said that BJP runs propaganda campaigns by spending crores of rupees using fake profiles and fake photographs.

She said: “A few weeks ago, a Union Minister spread the false news that ‘mangal aarti’ has been stopped in Dakshineswar. They spread pictures of Bangladesh saying violence is being spread in Bengal. Will they pay if I file a defamation suit? During Ganga Sagar Mela, they spread false news of stampede using fake images.”

When she asked the students present at the rally whether Saraswati Puja was banned in Bengal, they gave a resounding ‘no’ for an answer. She advised the students, youths and the intellectuals to counter the BJP’s false online propaganda.

সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় বিজেপি যে কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার চালাচ্ছে তার নিন্দা করে এদিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন বিজেপি সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় কোটি কোটি টাকা খরচ হচ্ছে। তার মধ্যে বেশিরভাগই বেনামী অ্যাকাউন্ট।

তিনি বলেন, “কয়েক সপ্তাহ আগে একজন কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী বললেন দক্ষিণেশ্বরের মঙ্গল আরতি নাকি বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। বাংলাদেশের ছবি দেখিয়ে বাংলায় দাঙ্গা লাগানোর চেষ্টা করছে। গঙ্গাসাগর মেলার সময় ওরা মানুষের পদপিষ্ট হওয়ার মিথ্যে খবর ছড়িয়েছিল”।

যখন তিনি ছাত্রছাত্রীদের প্রশ্ন করেন বাংলার সরস্বতী পুজো নিয়ে ওরা যে মিথ্যে প্রচার চালাচ্ছে তা সত্যি কিনা, ছাত্রছাত্রীরা উত্তর দেয় ‘না’। তিনি ছাত্র-যুব সকলের কাছে আবেদন করেন ডিজিটাল মিডিয়ায় বিজেপির কুৎসার বিরুদ্ধে সরব হতে।

Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided to introduce a mobile app which will provide information related to the KMC-run health centers and their various services.

The Android app is scheduled for launch on May 5. Trial runs are in process now.

The app will provide a detailed information on the civic body’s health services including where and how to get treatment for various diseases like malaria, dengue and tuberculosis, where blood tests can be done free of cost, etc. In case a person falls ill, the app can help in locating the required services.

Importantly, the app will also fix accountability of the employees of KMC’s Health Department as senior officials will now be able to monitor the functioning of the Health employees.

Once the app is introduced, it would be easier for KMC to provide better healthcare services to the people.

নতুন মোবাইল অ্যাপ আনতে চলেছে কলকাতা মিউনিসিপাল কর্পোরেশনের স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগ। এর মাধ্যমে জানা যাবে কলকাতা মিউনিসিপাল কর্পোরেশন চালিত স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র গুলির খোঁজ খবর। পাশাপাশি এও জানা যাবে সেখানে কি কি ধরনের স্বাস্থ্য বিষয়ক পরিষেবা পাওয়া যাবে।

আগামী ৫ই মে উদ্বোধন হবে এই এপ্লিকেশনের। অ্যাপটি পাওয়া যাবে অ্যানড্রয়েড ফোনের প্লে-স্টোরে।

প্লে স্টোর থেকে ডাউনলোড করার পর ম্যালেরিয়া, ডেঙ্গু, টিউবারকিউলোসিস সহ বিভিন্ন চিকিৎসার তথ্য পাওয়া যাবে। কোথায় এই সব রোগের জন্য বিনামূল্যে রক্ত পরীক্ষা করানো হয় সেই সম্পর্কিত তথ্যও থাকবে এখানে।কেউ হঠাৎ অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লে কোথায় চিকিৎসার পরিষেবা পাওয়া যাবে তাও দেওয়া থাকবে এখানে।

এই অ্যাপ চালু হয়ে গেলে সাধারণ মানুষকে আরও ভালো পরিষেবা দেওয়া সম্ভবপর হবে।

With an eye to frame an organic farming policy in Bengal, the State Agriculture Department and the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department have started organic farming activities in across the State.

The increasing demand for organic vegetables, especially among urban residents, has convinced the State Government to formulate the organic farming policy.

The Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department has asked the rural agricultural farms to begin organic farming and assured them of technical assistance in promotion and marketing as well. The department will supply greenhouses and pack houses along with organic fertilizers. It will also provide cars to ferry those farm products to the markets.

The department is also taking up organic farming at its own farms.

The Agriculture Department, on the other hand, has set a target to prepare 32 organic villages across Bengal — especially in the districts of North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah and Hooghly. It has set up 120 clusters, of 50 acres each, where organic farming is taking place. Around 194 farmhouses under the department are also farming organic vegetables separately.

On top of that, under Swanirbhar Krishi Prakalpa, the department is collaborating with private agencies on organic farming.

জৈব চাষের জন্য নতুন নীতি বানানোর উদ্যোগ রাজ্য সরকারের। রাজ্য কৃষি দপ্তর, খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ দপ্তর ও উদ্যানপালন দপ্তর ইতিমধ্যেই গ্রামীণ এলাকায় জৈব চাষে জোর দিচ্ছে।

খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ ও উদ্যানপালন মন্ত্রী বলেন, শহরাঞ্চলে জৈব শাক-সবজি সম্বন্ধে মানুষের আগ্রহ বাড়ছে, সাথে বাড়ছে চাহিদা। তাই সরকারের এই উদ্যোগ।

ইতিমধ্যেই গ্রামীণ কৃষি কেন্দ্রগুলিকে নির্দেশ জৈব চাষ শুরু করার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে; রাজ্য সরকার তাদের সবরকম সাহায্য করবে বলে জানিয়েছেন খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ ও উদ্যানপালন মন্ত্রী।

কৃষি দপ্তর উত্তর ২৪ পরগণা, দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগণা, হাওড়া ও হুগলী জেলায় ৩২টি জৈব গ্রাম তৈরির লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণ করেছে।

কৃষি দপ্তর ৫০ একর আয়তনের ১২০ টি ক্লাস্টার তৈরি করেছে যেখানে জৈব চাষ করা হবে। রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় কৃষি দপ্তরের আনুমানিক ১৯৪টি খামারে এই চাষ করা হবে। এখানেই শেষ নয়, স্বনির্ভর কৃষি প্রকল্পের আওতায় বেসরকারি সংস্থার সঙ্গে যৌথ উদ্যোগেও জৈব চাষ করা হচ্ছে।

কৃষিমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আমরা নিজেরা ও পাশাপাশি বেসরকারি সংস্থার সহযোগিতায় কাজ শুরু করেছি। এই কাজের পর্যবেক্ষণ করার পরেই জৈবিক চাষের নীতির খসড়া তৈরি করা হবে।”
