Who is responsible for the deaths in the hands of Central Forces, AITMC State President and MP Subrata Bakshi raises question

- The Central Forces, who are actually CISF, are deployed to protect industrial areas. People are being killed by their indiscriminate firing during the polls. Every death is sad, but someone must take the responsibility of these deaths.
- In 2008 Panchayat Elections, the time for polling in Jangalmahal was from 7 am to 3 pm as there was the fear of Maoist attack. In 2013, there has been a festival of democracy in Jangalmahal. When everybody feared that there will be disturbances, not only did the people of Jangalmahal vote with unforeseen enthusiasm, they voted beyond the scheduled hours, 7 am to 5 pm. At many places, polling continued all the night, ending at dawn.
- The State Government always wanted to go for a one-day or two-day poll since elections in Bengal have always been a high-voltage affair. The Left-Congress-BJP backed by the State Election Commission along with Supreme Court orders prolonged the process in to a month-long affair and by calling in Central Forces.
