Mamata Banerjee reaches Tripura for 9th August rally
With an aim to expand the base of the party, Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee has arrived in Tripura where she is scheduled to address a public rally on Tuesday at the Astabal ground.
During her 21 July speech, Mamata Banerjee had said the next target for Trinamool Congress was Tripura. The Assembly polls in Tripura are scheduled in 2018. Trinamool Congress is currently the main Opposition party in the state.
‘Poriborton’ and ‘Maa Mati Manush’ were the terms were the slogans to bring a change of guard in West Bengal in 2011. Similar slogans have already managed to get a major space in the political scenario of Tripura.
A huge turnout at Vivekananda Stadium commonly known as Astabal Math in Agartala is expected by the leaders of Trinamool Congress in Tripura.
The Trinamool Congress Chairperson left Kolkata on Monday afternoon and she will return the next day evening after addressing the rally.

তৃণমূলকে জাতীয় স্তরে আরও বিস্তার করার লক্ষ্যে ত্রিপুরা সফরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আগামী মঙ্গলবার আগরতলার আস্তাবল মাঠে তিনি একটি জনসভা করবেন।
২১ শে জুলাইয়ের বক্তব্যে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন যে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের পরবর্তী লক্ষ্য ত্রিপুরা। আগামী ২০১৮ সালে ত্রিপুরায় বিধানসভা নির্বাচন। বর্তমানে রাজ্যে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসই প্রধান বিরোধী দল।
পশ্চিমবঙ্গে পরিবর্তনের জন্য ২০১১ সালে ‘পরিবর্তন’ এবং ‘মা-মাটি-মানুষ’ ছিল স্লোগান। ত্রিপুরার রাজনৈতিক পরিস্থিতিতে পরিবর্তন আনতে একই স্লোগান ইতিমধ্যেই বৃহৎ ভূমিকা নিয়েছে।
তৃণমূলের দলনেত্রী সোমবার বিকেলে কলকাতা থেকে ত্রিপুরার উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা হন। পরের দিন জনসমাবেশে বক্তৃতা দেওয়ার পর সন্ধ্যেবেলায় তিনি ফিরে আসবেন।
