The Bengal Global Business Summits have been a big success story for the State. The book, Let’s Unite to Grow Together, published by the Trinamool Congress Government on the occasion of its sixth anniversary, has published data proving the success of the summits.

Combining the 2015 and 2016 summits, Rs 1,87,441.63 crore worth investment is being implemented – Rs 1,08,837 crore of the investment committed to in 2015 and Rs 78,604.63 crore of the amount committed to in 2016. This makes up 38 per cent of the investments promised combining the two years.

At the 2017 Bengal Global Business Summit, investment proposals worth Rs 2,35,290.03 crore came to the State Government. This was despite the draconian policy of demonetisation implemented by the Central Government.

Japan, Italy, Poland and Germany were partner countries. Besides from these countries, big business delegations also came from South Africa, Russia and China.

Companies in the sectors of cement, footwear, chemicals, spirits, fertilisers, etc. are already following up on their investment decisions presented at the 2017 summit. Among the companies are Mahindra and Mahindra, Matix Fertilisers Limited, OCL Cement, Farida Group, ITC, Future Group, Exide Limited, Globus Spirits, etc.

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সরকারের ষষ্ঠ বর্ষপূর্তিতে রাজ্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে প্রকাশিত বইয়ে বেঙ্গল গ্লোবাল বিজনেস সামিটের শিল্পায়নের প্রস্তাব ও বাস্তবায়নের বিস্তারিত তথ্য উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। ২০১৫ সালের ৮ এবং ৯ জানুয়ারি মিলনমেলায় বিশ্ববঙ্গ গ্লোবাল সামিট হয়েছিল। যেখানে ২০টি দেশ অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল। হাজির হয়েছিলেন দেশের বিভিন্ন শিল্পসংস্থার প্রধানরা। শিল্প বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব জমা পড়েছিল ২ লক্ষ ৪৩ হাজার ১০০ কোটি টাকার। তার মধ্যে ১ লক্ষ ৮ হাজার ৮৩৭ কোটি টাকার শিল্পস্থাপনের প্রস্তাব এখন বাস্তবায়নের পথে।

পরের বছর ১৬ এবং ১৭ জানুয়ারি মিলনমেলা প্রাঙ্গণে অনুরূপ শিল্প সম্মেলন হয়। সেই সম্মেলনে হাজির হয়েছিলেন ২৬টি দেশের প্রতিনিধিরা। সেই শিল্প সম্মেলনে ২ লক্ষ ৫০ হাজার ২৫৩ কোটি ৭৪ লক্ষ টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব দেওয়া হয়। যার মধ্যে ৭৮ হাজার ৬০৪ কোটি ৬৩ লক্ষ টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব বাস্তবায়নের পথে।

এবছরের বেঙ্গল গ্লোবাল বিজনেস সামিটে বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব এসেছে ২ লক্ষ ৩৫ হাজার ২৯০ কোটি ৩ লক্ষ টাকা। এবারের সম্মেলনে জাপান, ইতালি, পোলান্ড, জার্মানি পার্টনার দেশ ছিল। রাশিয়া, দক্ষিণ কোরিয়া, চীন থেকে বড় বাণিজ্য প্রতিনিধিদল এসেছিল। এবারের প্রস্তাব নিয়ে এখনও সেভাবে না এগোলেও ২০১৫ এবং ২০১৬ সালে বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাবের মধ্যে প্রায় ৪০ শতাংশ বাস্তবায়িত হতে চলেছে। বাস্তবায়িত হওয়া শিল্পসংস্থাগুলির মধ্যে সিমেন্ট, জুতো, কেমিকেলস, স্পিরিট, ফার্টিলাইজার প্রভৃতি সেক্টর রয়েছে।

Another feather has been added to the cap of Bengal as the State has recently been declared the country’s number one in 100-Days’ Work, in the aspect of convergence and livelihood augmentation, for financial year 2015-16.

This was conveyed to the State Government by the Union Ministry of Rural Development on June 2. The fact was announced to by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a Facebook post.

This is not the first time though. Bengal has consistently performed very well in the 100-Days’ Work Scheme, formally known as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Another achievement, along with being overall number one, is that the districts of Nadia and Cooch Behar have won awards under different categories for performing especially well.

The way Mamata Banerjee and her Government has driven the scheme forward in the State and, as a result, brought a huge change to the rural landscape of Bengal has been acknowledged as exemplary across the country.

১০০ দিনের কাজে আর একবার সাফল্য অর্জন করল রাজ্য। ২০১৫-১৬ অর্থবর্ষে ১০০ দিনের কাজের খাতে বরাদ্দ অর্থসম্পদের যথোপযুক্ত ব্যবহার ও সম্পদ বৃদ্ধির হিসাবে দেশের সব রাজ্যকে পিছনে ফেলে এক নম্বরে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। শুক্রবার এ বিষয়ে ঘোষণা করেছে কেন্দ্রীয় গ্রামোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রক।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল সরকার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকে বরাবরই ১০০ দিনের কাজের খাতে বরাদ্দ অর্থ যথোপযুক্ত ব্যবহার করায় শীর্ষস্থানে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। আবারও এই ঐতিহ্য বজায় রাখা সম্ভব হয়েছে।

এই উপলক্ষে রাজ্যবাসীকে শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এদিন ফেসবুকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী লেখেন, “আর একবার আমরা এক নম্বরে”।

To ensure better connectivity between different points in tourist spots, the Bengal  Transport department has decided to introduce a set of new buses in Darjeeling, Dooars and Murshidabad.

Suvendu Adhjikari, the state Transport minister, said in the Assembly: “Decision has been taken to buy a total number of 270 buses. Out of these buses, eight will be plying in Darjeeling and four each in Dooars and Murshidabad.”

The 270 buses will be operated by the West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC), South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) and North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC). The 270 buses include air-conditioned mini-buses, air-conditioned deluxe buses, 10 CNG buses and four electric buses. Mainly mini-buses that can easily ply on the hilly terrain will be bought for Darjeeling.

Thousands of people visit the places round the year and with several steps taken by the state government in the past six years, these locations have become immensely popular among people from different states and even abroad. The footfall has increased in all the these places and at the same time, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken different measures to ensure an overall development of the Hills.

Thus, beside tourists, common people of the area will also be immensely benefitted with the decision to introduce the additional fleet of buses. It may be mentioned that most of the buses will be having all modern arrangements to avoid any untoward incident in the bus. There will be panic button using which a passenger can alert policemen or concerned authorities if he or she falls in any untoward situation while travelling or if there is any emergency situation in the bus. There will also be CCTV cameras inside the buses. Notably, the buses will be GPS-enabled. Thus tracking of the realtime location of the buses will be an added advantage.

 

পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলির জন্য চালু হবে আরও ২৭০ টি নতুন বাস

যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা আরও উন্নত করার জন্য বিভিন্ন পর্যটন কেন্দ্র যেমন দার্জিলিং, ডুয়ার্স ও মুর্শিদাবাদের জন্য বেশ কিছু নতুন বাস নামানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য পরিবহণ দপ্তর।

বুধবার বিধানসভায় পরিবহণ মন্ত্রী জানান, সব মিলিয়ে ২৭০ টি নতুন বাস চালু হবে। এর মধ্যে ৮ টি বাস চলবে দার্জিলিং-এ, ৪টি ডুয়ার্স ও ৪টি মুর্শিদাবাদে চালানো হবে।

২৭০ টি বাসের মধ্যে বেশ কয়েকটি শীততাপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত মিনি বাস, শীততাপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত ডিলাক্স বাস ও ১০ টি CNG বাস এবং ৪ টি ইলেকট্রিক বাস রয়েছে। পাহাড়ি এলাকায় মিনি বাস সহজেই চলাচল করতে পারে।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ক্ষমতায় আসার পর পাহাড়ের অনেক উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্প নিয়েছেন এর ফলে পর্যটকদের সংখ্যাও বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। শুরু থেকেই পাহাড়ের সার্বিক উন্নয়নের ওপর জোর দিয়েছে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত সরকার। এই নতুন সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে পর্যটকদের পাশাপাশি এলাকার সাধারণ মানুষও অনেক উপকৃত হবেন।

উল্লেখ্য, দুর্ঘটনা এড়ানোর জন্য বাসগুলির আধুনিকিকরণও করা হয়েছে। যাত্রীদের সুরক্ষার জন্য একটা করে প্যানিক বাটন থাকবে। সিসিটিভি ক্যামেরাও থাকবে বাসগুলিতে। বাসগুলিতে জিপিএস ও বসানো হবে।

The Bengal Department of Forests manages 11,879 sq km of forests in the State, which is 13.38% of the total geographical area.

Some of the notable achievements between 2011 and 2017 are:

 

 

 

  • The forest cover of the State has been on the increase – it has gone up by 3810 sq km, or 4.29%, which is the highest in the country. Incidentally, the forestry management in Bengal is 150 years old; the Directorate of Forests came out with a commemorative volume, 150 years of Forestry – 1864-2014 in December 2014.

 

  • Between 2011 and 2017, the department has afforested 72,697 ha of forest area, besides doing extensive soil and moisture conservation work. It has also created a production capacity of 2 crore planting stock through modern nurseries, thereby replacing almost the entire capacity of conventional nurseries.

 

  • Under the Joint Forest Management initiative, the Directorate has distributed Rs 114.03 crore of Forest Protection Committee (FPC) shares to members of these committees during the period of 2011 to 2017, and has come out with the most progressive Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) notification in the country.

 

  • Inspired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Sabujshree programme was launched with effect from May 27, 2011 to provide a sapling to every new born child in the State to inculcate emotional bonding between the child and nature and also to provide an incentive of economic benefit for the future. It is being implemented at the block level throughout the State. Up to March 2017, more than 2 lakh seedlings were distributed.

 

  • Forestry intervention programmes worth Rs 534 crore have been sanctioned for the Clean Ganga project for the State, which was launched towards the end of 2016.

 

  • The Wildlife Wing of the Forest Directorate manages a network of 4,692 sq km of protected areas, or 5.28% of the geographical area of the State, up from 4.56% prior to 2013. Emphasising the importance of conservation, two new wildlife sanctuaries have been created – West Sunderbans Wildlife Sanctuary in 2013, over an area of 556 sq km in South 24 Parganas district for protection of the keystone species of the Sunderbans, and Pakhibitan Wildlife Sanctuary, over the 14.09 sq km water body in Gajaldobha in Jalpaiguri district in North Bengal, for protection of aquatic and migratory birds.

 

  • The biggest success story is the conservation of rhinoceros and elephant habitats. The rhinoceros population has reached 255 (2015 estimate) and the elephant population has reached 708 (2014 estimate), the highest in the last few decades. Camera trap technology introduced in recent years has showed a healthy population of tigers in the wild. For the first time in the State, a census of crocodiles was done in 2012.

 

  • The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)-assisted West Bengal Forest and Biodiversity Conservation Project (WBFBCP) commenced on August 24, 2012 with an outlay of Rs 406 crore. The Project Management Unit (PMU) of the project is implementing the project in 600 JFMCs. Till financial year 2016-17, the total plantation raised is 12,358 ha of forest and 934 ha under social forestry. Under this project, the Forest Directorate has expanded and renovated the West Bengal Forest School in Dow Hill in Kurseong town, and the West Bengal State Forest Training Institute in Hijli was inaugurated on February 11, 2016 with the intention of creating infrastructure facilities for human resource development.

 

  • The West Bengal Forest Development Corporation Limited (WBFDCL) has achieved new heights of physical and financial parameters. Online booking of eco-tourism facilities under WBFDCL was started in 2014. E-auction of forest produce, a major initiative, was started in 2017.

 

  • The West Bengal Zoo Authority (WBZA) was institutionalised in April 2012 with the transfer of the management of 11 zoos of the State. It started modernisation of animal housings at Alipore Zoo and transformed Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Darjeeling, considered the best zoological parks in the country. Rebuilding of Bengal Natural History Museum in Darjeeling was completed and Bengal Safari, Siliguri was inaugurated on January 21, 2016. New enclosures for the conservation and breeding of red panda and snow leopard were commissioned in Topkey Dara in Darjeeling district. The Sunderbans Wild Animals Park and Tiger Rescue Centre was commissioned in Jharkhali in South 24 Parganas.

 

  • The West Bengal State Forest Development Agency (WBSFDA) was institutionalised in 2014. Along with others, it is implementing the plantation programme of West Bengal Pollution Control Board and the MPLAD (Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme) funding programme in the forestry sector. Online reservation and payment gateway for 20 eco-tourism centres in the State was started in May 2015. Eco-tourism units have been commissioned in Takdha, Pokhriatar and Chimney in Darjeeling district.

 

  • The West Bengal Wasteland Development Corporation Ltd. (WBWDCL), has, over the last few years, taken up landscaping works for Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Raghunathpur Power Station, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Howrah Road and Bridge Corporation, Department of Technical Education, Kolkata Municipal Development Authority (KMDA), Land Port Authority, Swami Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan (Salt lake Stadium), Coal India Complex office in Rajarhat and the Coast Guard. It has also contributed towards the development of Eco Park in Rajarhat as well as the Harinalaya Park inside, and conducted the livelihood generation programme under Paschimanchal Unnayan Parishad in Garbeta in Paschim Medinipur distirct.

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Bengal Government has taken numerous steps for a greener environment in the last six years.

Here are the most important achievements:

 

 

POLLUTION CONTROL/REGULATION

  • From May 2011 to May 2017, Air Quality Monitoring Systems have been installed at 80 places.

 

  • Water Quality Monitoring Systems have been installed at 102 points in the rivers Ganga, Damodar, Ichhamati, Rupnarayan, Tista and Mahananda for monitoring on a regular basis.

 

  • Forty projects have been completed under Rain Water Harvesting Structure at 40 educational institutions in Bankura, Purulia, Birbhum and Paschim Medinipur districts. In addition, 90 Wetland Ecological Conservation Projects have been completed in the wetlands of Kolkata, Howrah, Bidhannagar, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur and Cooch Behar with a financial involvement of Rs 29 crore.

 

  • Online Industrial Clearance System has since being introduced to make the process of giving permission for setting up industries simple, speedy and flawless.

 

  • In 2010, the Haldia, Howrah and Asansol had been declared as Critically Polluting Areas. But things are now in control and as a result, lots of industries have come up in these places – oil installation, gas installation, port activities and ferro-alloy manufacturing in Haldia, expansion of coal mines in Asansol and steel manufacturing in Howrah. In addition, twenty green (that is, non-polluting) buses have been introduced in the Durgapur-Asansol industrial area using coal bed methane as fuel.

 

  • Thirty-nine industries under the ‘Grossly Polluting Industries’ category in the Ganga river basin have installed Online Effluent Quality Monitoring Systems.

 

CLIMATE CHANGE

  • In order to achieve climate change mitigation, two hundred solar photovoltaic cells have been installed in educational institutions and health centres.

 

  • In collaboration with the Forest Department, intensive plantation has been done in the Durgapur-Asansol and Paschim Medinipur industrial areas with a financial involvement of Rs 10 crore.

 

  • One demonstrative model for Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting System has been installed in each of the 20 districts (except in the recently constituted districts of Kalimpong and Jhargram) to show their mitigative impact on climate change in the wetlands. Five other such fully functional units have been formally installed in the districts of Bankura, Hooghly and Purba Medinipur.

 

  • A mass-scale rooftop rainwater harvesting project has been started in Darjeeling Municipal Corporation to provide water to poorer sections of the hilly town to benefit an estimated 3,200 families directly and indirectly. A total of Rs 23.121 crore has been granted by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under the National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC) in 2016.

 

  • The project, Enhancing Adaptive Capacity and Increasing Resilience of Small and Marginal Farmers of Purulia and Bankura District, facilitated by DRCSC (Development Research Communication and Service Centre), had been sanctioned US$ 2.5 million (approx. Rs 15 crore) under the first Adaptation Fund Project of India in 2015.

 

  • State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC) had been prepared in 2012 and follow-up actions with regard to adaptation/implementation are going on.

 

  • A vulnerability assessment project in the context of climate change has been started in 2016 for Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts at a cost of Rs 2.16 crore as part of the National Mission for Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE), under the Department of Science & Technology.

 

  • West Bengal is the first State in India to implement the project of ‘Downscaling of Global Climate Change Model (GCM)’ to district-level projections in 2017 through the expertise of IIT Bombay.

 

ENVIRONMENT CLEARANCE STATUS

  • From May 2011 to May 2017, the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) has given environmental clearance to 230 industrial, thermal power, mining, infrastructure and building construction, and township and area development projects.

 

INTEGRATED COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT PROJECT (ICZMP) (A WORLD BANK-funded project):

  • 100% electrification of Sagar Island.

 

  • Construction of Nat Mandir at Sagar Island as part of the ‘Eco-Tourism Project in Sagar Island’ project.

 

  • Laying of 11.33 km sewer line and a 6.7 MLD sewage treatment plant as part of the ‘Sanitary Sewerage Scheme for Digha’ project for providing efficient municipal/public health services. Treated effluents will be discharged into the sea, which in turn will reduce coastal pollution.

 

  • Under the ‘Beachfront Development in Digha’ project, beach beautification Phase-I for improving facilities and reducing the pollution level has been completed, which includes two watch towers, an open-air theatre, rehabilitation of 219 hawkers through temporary and permanent kiosks.

 

  • Under the ‘Multipurpose Cyclone Shelter in Five Coastal Blocks’ project, 25 multipurpose cyclone shelters have been constructed.

 

EAST KOLKATA WETLAND MANAGEMENT

  • From May 2011 to May 2017, the State Department of Environment has done 15.575 km of canal desiltation, 6 km of road renovation, plantation of 6,000 seedlings and excavation of a bheri (fish cultivation farm) in the East Kolkata Wetland.

Going by statistics for the last six years, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Bengal has indeed come a long way since the dark days of the Left Front. Be it general production or manufacturing, in all areas of industry, indices of production have shown significant improvement.

The manufacturing index for financial year 2011-12 was 0.94 per cent, which rose to 6.6 per cent during 2016-17 (April-January period). In general industrial production, corresponding figures were 2.14 per cent 6.97 per cent, respectively. During 2015-16, when the percentage increase in industrial production in India was 7.3, that for Bengal was 10.6.

These data have been have been published in the book, Let’s Unite to Grow Together, published by the Trinamool Congress Government to commemorate its sixth anniversary.

Among the projects being currently implemented in the State by big companies include a Rs 40,000 crore project by public sector unit SAIL, Rs 6,600 crore by Matix Fertilisers, Rs 4,600 by Aditya Birla Group, Rs 4,000 crore by ITC (Integrated Food Park and Infotech Park), Rs 700 crore each by OCL Cement and JSW Cement, Rs 700 crore by Exide, Rs 378 crore by Coca-Cola, Rs 350 crore by PepsiCo and Rs 250 crore by Amul Diary.

The Left Front Government had, till March 31, 2011, set up 89 industrial clusters. This number has shot up to 343 (till March 31, 2017) during the six-year tenure of the Trinamool Congress Government. Besides industrial clusters, Mamata Banerjee led initiatives to set up some unique clusters like Rural Haat, Urban Haat and Karma Tirtha. Till March 31, 2017, 31 such haats or markets have been established.

অতীতের তুলনায় শিল্পোৎপাদনের সূচক অনেকটাই বেড়েছে। তা জেনারেল প্রোডাকশন বা ম্যানুফাকচারিং ক্ষেত্র যাই হোক না কেন, সব ক্ষেত্রে শিল্পোৎপাদনের সূচক বেড়েছে। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ক্ষমতায় আসার পর ২০১১-১২ সালে ম্যানুফাকচারিংয়ের সূচক ছিল ০.৯৪ শতাংশ। সেখানে ২০১৬-১৭ সালে (এপ্রিল-জানুয়ারি পর্যন্ত) তা বেড়ে হয়েছে ৬.৬ শতাংশ। জেনারেল ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল প্রোডাকশনের ক্ষেত্রে ২০১১-১২ সালের সূচক ছিল ২.১৪ শতাংশ। ২০১৬-১৭ সালে (এপ্রিল-জানুয়ারি পর্যন্ত) তা বেড়ে হয়েছে ৬.৯৭ শতাংশ। গোটা দেশে ২০১৫-১৬ সালে যেখানে শিল্পোৎপাদনের বৃদ্ধি ৭.৩ শতাংশ, সেখানে রাজ্যের বৃদ্ধি হল ১০.৬ শতাংশ।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ষষ্ঠ বর্ষপূর্তিতে প্রকাশিত বই, ‘লেট’স ইউনাইট টু গ্রো টুগেদার’-এ তথ্য সহকারে শিল্পোৎপাদনের সূচকের মাধ্যমে রাজ্যের শিল্পে অগ্রগতির কথা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।

নবান্ন সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, পেপসিকো ইন্ডিয়া ৩৫০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করে ফুডপার্ক তৈরি করছে। ম্যাটিক্স ফার্টিলাইজার ৬৬০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করেছে। তাদের সংস্থার প্রথম পর্যায়ের কাজ শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে। ওসিএল সিমেন্ট ৭০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করেছে। জেএসডব্লু সংস্থা ৭০০ কোটি টাকা দিয়ে সিমেন্ট কারখানা তৈরি করেছে। যা মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ইতিমধ্যে উদ্বোধন করেছেন। আমূল ডেয়ারি ২৫০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করেছে। আদিত্য বিড়লা গ্রুপ ৪৬০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করেছে। অন্যতম সেরা জুতোর কোম্পানি ফরিদা গ্রুপ গয়েশপুরে জুতোর কারখানা তৈরি করেছে। সেইল ৪০ হাজার কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করছে। আইটিসি চার হাজার কোটি টাকা খরচ করে ইন্টিগ্রেটেড ফুড পার্ক এবং ইনফোটেক পার্ক তৈরি করছে। কোকাকোলা ৩৭৮ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করছে। হলদিয়ায় ৭০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করেছে এক্সাইড। ইতিমধ্যে যার উদ্বোধন করেছেন মমতা।

শিল্পের প্রসারে ২০১১ সালের ৩১ মার্চ পযর্ন্ত ৪৯টি ক্লাস্টার তৈরি হয়েছিল। এ বছরের ৩১ মার্চ পর্যন্ত সেই সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৩৪৩টি। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ক্ষমতায় আসার পর রুরাল হাট, আরবান হাট বা কর্মতীর্থ তৈরির পরিকল্পনা করেন। এ বছর ৩১ মার্চ পর্যন্ত ১৬টি এ ধরনের হাট তৈরি হয়েছে।

On the invitation of the United Nations, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is going to the Netherlands. She is the first Chief Minister from India to be invited to a United Nations summit, and therefore, this is indeed something to be proud of for Bengal.

The occasion for which Mamata Banerjee is going to The Hague is the United Nations’ Public Service Day celebrations on June 22 and 23. This international day celebrates public servants’ contribution to sustainable development.

The theme of the 2017 UN Public Service Forum is ‘The Future is Now: Accelerating Public Service Innovation for Agenda 2030’. Five hundred dignitaries from around the world are going to grace the occasion.

The Mamata Banerjee Government’s Kanyashree Scheme has garnered international acclaim, and has been awarded by the United Nations. Other public service schemes like Sabuj Sathi and Yuvashree have also received a lot of praise for their effectiveness in addressing pressing social concerns.

This invitation is yet another recognition of the fact that the twin agendas of development and governance of Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress Government have ushered in a reign of hope and happiness.

বিশ্ব দরবারে সম্মানিত মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জের আমন্ত্রণে নেদারল্যান্ডসের হেগে বক্তব্য রাখার জন্য আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়েছে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে যা কার্যত নজিরবিহীন।

সম্প্রতি রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জের এই সম্মান বাংলার কাছে অন্যতম। দেশের অন্য কোনও মুখ্যমন্ত্রী যা আগে পাননি। ফলত আন্তর্জাতিক মঞ্চের এই আমন্ত্রণ একদিকে যেমন বাংলার কাছে সম্মানের আর একদিকে বাঙালির গর্বের বিষয়ও বটে। অন্যান্য রাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এযাবৎ যা করতে পারেননি তা গত ছয় বছরে বাংলায় করে দেখিয়েছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

ক্ষমতায় আসার পরই একাধিক জনসেবামূলক প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করে সেগুলিকে কার্যকর করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। যার তালিকায় রয়েছে কন্যাশ্রী, সবুজ সাথী, যুবশ্রীর মতো প্রকল্পগুলি। কয়েক বছরের মধ্যেই যা সাফল্যের শিখরে পৌঁছয়। ইতিমধ্যেই কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্প আন্তর্জাতিক মঞ্চে যথার্থ মানব উন্নয়নের নিরিখে বিশেষ স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে। জনগণের স্বার্থে তাঁর উদ্যোগে গৃহীত একগুচ্ছ অভিনব প্রকল্পর সুবিধা পেয়েছে বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীর মানুষ, যা আজ সারা পৃথিবীর কাছে দৃষ্টান্তস্বরূপ।

আগামী ২২ ও ২৩ জুন ওয়ার্ল্ড অডিটোরিয়ামে রাষ্ট্রসঙ্ঘে ‘পাবলিক সার্ভিস ডে, ২০১৭’ অনুষ্ঠানটি হবে। অনুষ্ঠানটির ফোকাল থিম ‘দ্য ফিউচার ইজ নাও’। আর্থ-সামাজিক ক্ষেত্রে স্বীকৃতির জন্য এই অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জ।

গোটা পৃথিবী থেকে মোট ৫০০ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যাক্তি এই অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দেবেন। আলোচনার বিষয়বস্তু হল নাগরিকদের কীভাবে সরকার সুবিধা প্রদান করে। বৃহৎ রাষ্ট্রগুলির নানাবিধ সমস্যা মেটানোর জায়গা হচ্ছে হেগ। এ ছাড়াও ইতিহাসের পাতা ঘাঁটলে দেখা যায়, বিভিন্ন সময় বহু ঐতিহাসিক আন্তর্জাতিক চুক্তি সাক্ষরিত হয়েছে এখানে। এবার সেই মঞ্চেই বক্তব্য রাখবেন রাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। আর সেই দিকেই তাকিয়ে আজ তামাম ভারতের মানুষ।

State Govt to set up a Light Hub in Chandannagar in Hooghly district. This was announced during administrative review meeting for Hooghly district held in Tarakeswar.

Chandannagar is famous for its lighting displays, especially during Jagaddhatri Puja. The technicians provide their expertise at Durga Pujas in Kolkata and other places. A few have spread their wings to Durga Pujas outside Bengal too.

Mamata Banerjee’s initiative is meant to give a structured boost to this industry. After the Mishti Hubs, Muslin Hub and similar clusters comes Light Hub. These hubs have given a huge boost to traditional small-scale industries. They provide a steady source of income for the families and also help in preserving the crafts.

 

লাইট হাব তৈরী হবে চন্দননগরে

হুগলী জেলার চন্দননগরে লাইট হাব তৈরী করবে রাজ্য সরকার। বৃহস্পতিবার তারকেশ্বরে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে একথা ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

আলোর জন্য বিখ্যাত চন্দননগর। জগধাত্রী পুজোর সময় চন্দননগরের আলোকসজ্জার সারা দেশ বিদেশে সুখ্যাতি রয়েছে।

মিষ্টি হাব, মসলিন হাবের পর অনুরূপ ক্লাস্টার স্বরুপ আলোর হাব তৈরীর সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় রাজ্যসরকার। নিঃসন্দেহে এতি এক অভিনব উদ্যোগ। এর মাধ্যমে এক শ্রেণীর লোকের কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ হবে।

The Bengal Government is going to set up a Silk Hub in Serampore in Hooghly district. This was announced recently by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Like her other innovative hubs which have opened up new horizons in the world of traditional crafts and trades, like the Mishti Hubs, Muslin Hub, etc., the Silk Hub is also expected to bring in new opportunities to silk craftsmen.

The hub would draw skilled craftsmen from across Bengal. It would enable sharing of skills and other ideas, including marketing ideas. The Silk Hub would become a centre of innovation and is expected to become a major base for export of silk in the future.

The hub would provide a steady source of income for many families and also help in preserving their craftsmanship.

 

শীঘ্রই শ্রীরামপুরে তৈরী হবে সিল্ক হাব

রাজ্য সরকার খুব শীঘ্রই হুগলী জেলার শ্রীরামপুরে তৈরী করতে চলেছে সিল্ক হাব। কিছুদিন আগেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই ঘোষণা করেন।

তাঁর অন্যান্য উদ্যোগগুলো যেমন মিষ্টি হাব, মসলিন হাব যেগুলো পারম্পরিক শিল্পে দিয়েছে এক নতুন মাত্রা, তেমনই আশা করা যায় এই সিল্ক হাব তৈরি হলে সিল্ক তাঁতিরা পাবে এক নতুন সুযোগ।

এই হাবে রাজ্যের সকল প্রশিক্ষিত সিল্কের তাঁতিরা যোগ দেবেন। এর মাধ্যমে তাঁতিদের মধ্যে নানারকম ভাবনার আদান প্রদানের পাশাপাশি বিপণনের ব্যাপারেও নিত্যনতুন চিন্তা ভাবনার আদান প্রদান হবে। এ

ই সিল্ক হাব তৈরী হলে এটি সিল্ক সংক্রান্ত নতুন ধ্যানধারণার অন্যতম কেন্দ্র হবে ও ভবিষ্যতে সিল্ক রপ্তানির অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কেন্দ্র হতে চলেছে।এই হাব অনেক পরিবারের রোজগারের পথ খুলে দেবে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today expressed shock over the Central Government’s recent reply to an RTI query regarding Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

“I am shocked to see this unilateral decision of the Central Government without evidence. Netaji is a great son of the soil. Our state, the country and the whole world are proud of him,” she said.

“Any matter involving a person of his stature does not deserve to be handled in such a casual manner. I have drawn the attention of Hon’ble Prime Minister to this matter and has sought the considered stand of Central Government in this regard,” the CM wrote on her Facebook page.

Bengal Government had declassified all files related to Netaji in September, 2015.

নেতাজিকে নিয়ে কেন্দ্রের আরটিআই এর উত্তরে বিষ্ময় প্রকাশ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের

নেতাজি সুভাষ চন্দ্র বসুর মৃত্যুরহস্য সংক্রান্ত এক আরটিআই প্রশ্নে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের জবাবে দিয়েছে তাতে বিষ্ময় প্রকাশ করলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তিনি বলেন, “নেতাজির মৃত্যুরহস্যের ব্যাপারে কোনও প্রমাণ ছাড়া কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার যেভাবে একতরফা জবাব দিয়েছে তাতে আমি বিস্মিত। নেতাজি এদেশের এক কৃতি সন্তান। আমাদের রাজ্য, আমাদের দেশ তথা সারা বিশ্ব তাঁকে নিয়ে গর্ব অনুভব করে।”

তিনি ফেসবুকে লেখেন, “তাঁর মতো মর্যাদাপূর্ণ কোনও ব্যাক্তির কোনও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যাপার এত দায়িত্বজ্ঞ্যানহীনভাবে দেখা উচিত নয়। আমি এই ব্যাপারে মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করেছি; কেন্দ্র এই ব্যাপারে তাদের অবস্থান স্পষ্ট করুক”।
