Maize cultivators to get subsidised machinery from Bangla Govt
With manifold increase in maize cultivation in Bangla, the State Government will help farmers get machineries at a subsidised rate for the husking of corn.
Cultivation of maize is happening on a much larger scale in many districts now, including both in the northern and southern districts. From around 3.52 lakh metric tonnes in the financial year 2010-11, cultivation has gone up to 13.34 lakh metric tonnes in 2017-18.
In such a situation, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya has developed a machine that will ensure easy husking of corn out of maize. It will be of great help to maize cultivators. The State Government will help farmers get these machines at a subsidised rate.
