West Bengal Government is celebrating ‘Subhas Utasav’ to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The festival is being organised by the Department of Youth Affairs, Govt of West Bengal. The festivities began on 22nd January and will also continue today.
The official function of the State government to observe Netaji’s birth anniversary took place at Darjeeling Mall today at 12 noon. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said: “Netaji’s birthday is as important for us just like Independence Day or Republic Day.”
“The birth anniversary of Netaji is observed every year but nobody knows about his death. This is a tragedy,” she said
The Chief Minister said, “Netaji was a leader of the country and a true leader does not discriminate but works for all. Netaji had a very clear vision for the country, he conceived the Planning Commission.” She also paid her respects to those who served in the Indian National Army.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the State Government had declassified all Netaji Files in possession with the government. She announced that the Government has allotted Rs 10 lakh for the renovation of the house where Netaji stayed in the Hills.
Celebrations in the past took place in Kolkata but on the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the official celebration of Netaji’s birth anniversary is held in Darjeeling since 2014.
Many programmes and competitions including processions, exhibitions on the life and work of Subhas Chandra, quizzes on him, debates, sit & draw competition, essay writing and other events are being organised across the State to mark Netaji’s 120th birth anniversary.
দেশের ভবিষ্যতের ব্যাপারে নেতাজীর পরিকল্পনা ছিল সুস্পষ্ট: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়
নেতাজী সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর ১২০তম জন্মবার্ষিকী রাজ্যজুড়ে পালিত হচ্ছে ‘সুভাষ উ९সব’। রাজ্য যুবকল্যান দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে গতকাল শুরু হয়েছে এই উ९সব।
অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, স্বাধীনতা দিবস, প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের মত নেতাজীর জন্মদিনও আমাদের কাছে সমান গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
তিনি বলেন, “আমরা প্রতি বছর নেতাজীর জন্মদিন পালন করি কিন্তু তাঁর মৃত্যুদিন সম্পর্কে কোন তথ্য আমাদের জানা নেই। এটা একটা ট্রাজেডি”।
তিনি আরও বলেন, “নেতাজী দেশের নেতা ছিলেন। প্রকৃত নেতা কখনো বিভেদ করে না। কোনো বিভেদকারী দেশের নেতা হতে পারে না।নেতাজী দূরদর্শী ছিলেন। দেশের ভবিষ্যতের ব্যাপারে নেতাজীর পরিকল্পনা ছিল সুস্পষ্ট। তিনি প্ল্যানিং কমিশনের পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন”। আজাদ হিন্দ বাহিনীর সেনানীদের প্রতিও শ্রদ্ধা জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও জানান, নেতাজী পাহাড়ে যে বাড়িতে থাকতেন তা সংস্কারের জন্য রাজ্য সরকার ১০ লক্ষ টাকা বরাদ্দ করেছে এবং নেতাজীর ফাইলও প্রকাশ করেছে রাজ্য সরকার।
এর আগে সরকারি অনুষ্ঠান হত কলকাতায়; মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্যোগে ২০১৪ সাল থেকে নেতাজীর জন্মবার্ষিকী দার্জিলিঙে পালন করা হয়। নেতাজীর জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে সারা রাজ্যজুড়ে বসে আঁকো, প্রবন্ধ লেখার প্রতিযোগিতা, পদযাত্রা, প্রদর্শনী, ক্যুইজ ও বিতর্কসভার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
