Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged Gangasagar pilgrims not to believe whatever the saffron brigade was saying in order to ensure a safe and secured pilgrimage.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Vivek Chetna Utsav that was held at Babughat where hundreds of pilgrims have gathered to march ahead towards Gangasagar to take the holy dip, the Chief Minister said: “Gangasagar Mela is such a major event in which around 30 lakh people from different parts of the country visit and the administration has to be vigilant round-the-clock to ensure safe and secured journey of the devotees. Right at this time, they are planning to take out a rath… Actually, they have no work apart from creating trouble and to do politics in everything.”

The Bengal CM She further said: “When so many people from so many states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand are here, what is the need to organise another programme and create a divide if you have love for the Hindu religion.” She also raised the question adding that there are some who want to create problems intentionally as they do not want any good to take place.

“In case anything odd takes place at the Gangasagar Mela, those who are conspiring will be held responsible,” she maintained. In the same breath, she urged the pilgrims from other states to consider Bengal as their home and let the administration know if they are facing any problem instead of listening to those who would try to create problems. “We don’t allow any big programme at the time of Gangasagar as we need to maintain a proper vigil to ensure safety and security of around 30 lakh people. I would request all to not do anything that would lead to an atmosphere of discord,” The Bengal CM said adding that it is the first priority to give protection to the lakhs of pilgrims visiting the event. Drawing a relevance to matches at Eden Gardens, she said since there cannot be 10 matches taking place at the ground, similarly, “No major event can be held during Gangasagar Mela.”

She further added that there was nothing in Sagar Island earlier. “We went to the place 10 days ago and found massive development including setting up of shelters for the pilgrims, proper illumination, good roads, etc.” She also slammed the Centre for not extending any financial support unlike the Kumbha Mela for organising such a big fair. Banerjee said: “We are giving our best in making better arrangements for the pilgrims without anyone’s support. The Centre didn’t give us anything. It is the state government that undertook all the development work in Sagar Island.”

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এদিন এখানে বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের সূচনা করেন। বিবেকানন্দের ১৫৫তম জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে রাজ্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে ১০–১২ জানুয়ারি রাজ্যব্যাপী উৎসব পালন করা হবে। সহযোগিতায় রামকৃষ্ণ মঠ ও মিশন। বক্তব্য পেশ করতে গিয়ে মমতা ব্যানার্জি বলেন, বাধ্য হচ্ছি বিজেপি–র কথা বলতে। ওরা আগুন লাগাতে জানে, নেভাতে জানে না। দাঙ্গা করতে জানে। শুধু আমাদের পেছনে লাগে, দুষ্টুমি করে ও চক্রান্ত করে। গঙ্গাসাগরের সময়ও চক্রান্ত করার পরিকল্পনা করছে। রামকৃষ্ণ ও বিবেকানন্দের আদর্শের কথা তিনি তুলে ধরেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কেন্দ্রের কাছে দাবি করেন, নেতাজি ও বিবেকানন্দের জন্মদিনে কেন জাতীয় ছুটি ঘোষণা করা হচ্ছে না? কেন্দ্রকে আক্রমণ করে মমতা বলেন, কুম্ভমেলার জন্য কেন্দ্র প্রচুর টাকা দেয়। গঙ্গাসাগরের জন্য কোনও টাকা দেয় না। তিনি বলেন, আমি ইতিমধ্যেই সব ব্যবস্থা ঠিক আছে কিনা তা দেখতে সাগরে গিয়েছিলাম। আগে খুব খারাপ অবস্থা ছিল। এখন সাগরে যাওয়ার কোনও অসুবিধা নেই। .

The State Government has decided to double the power supply to Sagar Island during the Ganga Sagar Mela from 8.9 million units (MU) to 16 MU per day. The annual fair will be held from January 10-16 this time.

Millions of people from across the country, most of whom are pilgrims, and some, tourists, as well as many foreign tourists, descend on to Sagar Island in the Sundarbans every year. Doubling the load capacity will result in a smooth power situation during the seven days of the fair, which centres around the ashram of Kapil Muni on the island. Power cuts will be a thing of the past.

The Power Department will also arrange six generators to meet any emergency situation. As many as 10 centres will be set up inside the Sagar Mela where a total of 50 Power Department officials will be deployed. They would oversee the entire situation, as well as attend to any complaint that may arise within two to three minutes. There will be an additional deployment of 300 contractual staff. Various electrical apparatuses including high and low-tension wires have also been repaired.

গঙ্গা সাগর মেলায় দ্বিগুন বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করবে রাজ্য সরকার

 

রাজ্য সরকার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে গঙ্গাসাগর মেলা চলাকালীন স্বাগর দ্বীপে বিদ্যুৎ যোগান দ্বিগুন করবে। সাধারণত সাগরে ৮.৯ MU বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করা হয়; মেলার সময় বিদ্যুৎ যোগান বাড়িয়ে ১৬ MU করা হবে। এই মেলা সাগর দ্বীপে কপিল মুনির আশ্রমে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ১০-১৬ই জানুয়ারি।

সারা দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষ – তীর্থযাত্রী, অন্য রাজ্যের পর্যটক, বিদেশী পর্যটক – এই মেলায় আসেন প্রতি বছর। বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ দ্বিগুন করার ফলে কোনওরকম বিদ্যুতের ঘাটতি হবে না।

বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তর ৬টি জেনারেটরের ব্যবস্থা রাখবে। মেলার অন্তর্গত ১০টি জায়গায় অন্তত ৫০ জন বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তরের কর্মী সবসময় উপস্থিত থাকবেন। এছাড়া ৩০০ চুক্তিভিত্তিক কর্মী ওখানে থাকবেন। সাগর দ্বীপের বৈদ্যুতিক পরিকাঠামো ইতিমধ্যেই সংস্কার করা হয়েছে।

Calcutta University today honouredchief minister Mamata Banerjee with D.Litt. for her special contribution in social service.

The university also appreciated her good work in literature. The decision was taken at the university Syndicate — highest executive body — in its meeting on October 25.

A CU alumnus, the CM had consented to the proposal and returned to her alma mater at the university’s convocation programme at Nazrul Mancha today.

Highlights of her speech:

  • I am honoured to be present here today. I was a student of University of Calcutta. I love CU very much.
  • Teachers play an important role in shaping our lives.
  • There are a lot of opportunities at CU. There are several scholarships too.
  • My life is one of struggle. I have had to bear a lot of insults throughout my life. Even when someone honours me, I am insulted for that.
  • Humanism does not have any caste or creed. Let a new civilization, a new culture be born.
  • University of Calcutta has been witness to a lot of movements. This has been the cradle of revolutions. CU is famous all over the world. CU is our pride.
  • The honour that you have given me today, the recognition of my work till date, I will cherish it all my life.
  • The students present here today are the future citizens of the country. They will shape the future.
  • We have achieved No 1 rank in NREGA through convergence, Kanyashree has been adjudged the best in the world.
  • Netaji, Swami Ji are our inspiration. Students and youths must learn from them. We must focus on character-building of students.
  • School drop-out rate among girls has come down because of Kanyashree. Institutional delivery rate has increased from 65% to 95%.
  • Intolerance is rising in the country. This is worrying. There are attempts to rewrite history. We must conserve our history. We must promote tolerance.
  • Bengal is incomplete with University of Calcutta.

 

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে সাম্মানিক ডিলিট দিল কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে সাম্মানিক ডিলিট দিচ্ছে কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। নজরুল মঞ্চে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাবর্তনে এই সম্মান জানানো হল।

সমাজসেবা, সাহিত্য ও শিল্প ক্ষেত্রে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর অবদানের ভিত্তিতে সিন্ডিকেটের বৈঠকে তাঁকে সাম্মানিক ডিলিট দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়।

  • আজ এখানে এসে আমি ধন্য, আমি কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে খুব ভালোবাসি। আমি এখানকারই ছাত্রী।
  • আমাদের গড়ে তোলে শিক্ষক শিক্ষিকারা।
  • এখন অনেক সুযোগ, অনেক স্কলারশিপের সুবিধা রয়েছে।
  • আমার জীবনটা অসম্মানের, অবহেলার, সংগ্রামের। কেউ যদি আমায় সম্মানিত করেন তা নিয়েও আমায় কম অসম্মানিত হতে হয় না।
  • মানুষের মধ্যে সৃষ্টি হোক নতুন সভ্যতার, নতুন মানবিকতার। মানবিকতার কোন জাত –ধর্ম-বর্ণ নেই।
  • কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আন্দোলনের প্রাণকেন্দ্র। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অনেক কিছুর সাক্ষী। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আমাদের গর্ব। সারা পৃথিবী জুড়ে কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নাম।
  • আজকে আপনারা যে সম্মান আমায় দিয়েছেন, আমার কাজকে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছেন, এর থেকে বড় সম্মান আমি আর কিছু চাই না জীবনে।
  • আমাদের যে সমস্ত ছাত্রছাত্রীরা এখানে পড়াশোনা করেন, তারাই তো নব প্রজন্ম, নতুনকে পথ দেখায়।
  • আমরা ১০০ দিনের কাজে কনভারজেন্স করে ১ নম্বর হয়ে গেছি, কন্যাশ্রী বিশ্বের মুকুট ছিনিয়ে নিয়েছে।
  • নেতাজী, স্বামীজি আমাদের প্রেরণা। ছাত্র যৌবনকে পথ দেখাতে হবে। জ্ঞান অর্জনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সমাজ, চরিত্র গঠন, নতুন ভাবে এগিয়ে যাওয়া আরও বড় কাজ।
  • কন্যাশ্রীর ফলে ড্রপআউট রেট কমে গেছে, ইন্সটিটুশ্যানাল ডেলিভারি ছিল ৬৫% এখন ৯৫%।
  • আজ দেশে অসহিষ্ণুতা খুব বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে।  সকলে এটা নিয়ে খুব চিন্তিত। ইতিহাস যেন বিকৃত না হয়, আমরা যেন সহিষ্ণুতা রক্ষা করি।
  • কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাদ দিয়ে বাংলাকে ভাবা যায় না ।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated Vivek Chetana Utsab at a function held at Ganga Sagar Mela Camp, Babughat.

Vivek Chetana Utsab is being observed across the State on the occasion of 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The festival is being organised in all 341 blocks, 118 municipalities, 6 corporations, Kolkata Municipal corporation, GTA, and all district headquarters of the State.

As part of the festival, padyatras will be held across the State. There will be symposiums, exhibitions, quiz, debates on Swami Vivekananda’s life. Football matches will also be organised. There will sit-and-draw competitions, along with essay-writing competitions and cultural events.

 

 

বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

 

আজ বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের শুভ সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বাবুঘাটে গঙ্গাসাগর মেলা ক্যাম্প থেকে আজ এই উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করেন তিনি।

স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের ১৫৫ তম জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষ্যে রাজ্যব্যাপী এই উৎসবের আয়োজন করেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তর।

রাজ্যের ৩৪১টি ব্লক, ১১৮টি পুরসভা, ৬টি কর্পোরেশন, কলকাতা পৌর সংস্থার অধীন ১৪৪টি ওয়ার্ড এবং জিটিএ সহ রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলাসদরে এই উৎসব আয়োজিত হবে।

এই উৎসবে থাকবে পদযাত্রা, বিবেকানন্দের জীবন ও কর্ম বিষয়ক প্রদর্শনী, ছাত্র-যুবদের চরিত্র গঠন বিষয়ক আলোচনা, বিবেকানন্দ বিষয়ক ক্যুইজ, বিতর্ক, প্রদর্শনী ফুটবল ম্যাচ, বসে আঁকো, প্রবন্ধ রচনা সহ অন্যান্য সাংস্কৃতিক প্রতিযোগিতা ও অনুষ্ঠান।

As a result of the Safe Drive Save Life programme, initiated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the number of road accidents in the state has come down sharply.

Now, the government is taking newer measures to further reduce accidents and deaths. The work for installation of cameras at accident-prone points is being completed at a rapid pace. More traffic police personnel are being provided motorbikes so that there are no loopholes in surveillance activities on city roads and highways.

Alongside undertaking various ways – through social media, posters, awareness weeks, etc. – to make people understand the need for following traffic rules, strong actions also being taken against anyone not following rules. These measures have ensured in reducing accidents and thus making for safe travel.

Another measure related to breaking traffic rules, which has been decided to be taken by the State Police, is the issuing of electronic chalans or e-chalans in lieu of the fines paid. This would ensure the process of taking fines is resolved quickly and would also save paper.

The process would be resolved through a software loaded on to the mobile phones of the traffic police personnel. They would fill up an online form and send the chalan to the mobile number of the rule-breaker, who can then pay online as well. It has been decided to start this system in ten districts by the middle of 2018, and among them, in Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, North 24 Parganas and Nadia, first. It must be mentioned here that Kolkata Police already has this measure in place.

In 2016 the number of accidents in Bengal was 13,580 and number of fatalities was 6,544. In 2017, the number came down to 11,705 accidents and 5,625 fatalities.

In December 2016, there were 1,110 accidents which led to 562 people getting injured, which in December 2017 reduced to 921 accidents and 462 injured.

The Safe Drive Save Life programme was started in Kolkata in 2016, and is now being extended across state. Its effectiveness was recently acknowledged by the Supreme Court too.

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্যোগে কমছে দুর্ঘটনা, নতুন প্রকল্প নিচ্ছে ট্রাফিক বিভাগ

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের চালু করা ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’ প্রকল্পের জন্যই, শেষ হওয়া বছরে দুর্ঘটনায় মৃতের সংখ্যা একধাক্কায় অনেকটা নেমে গেল। শুধু তাই নয়, আহতের সংখ্যাও নেমে এসেছে অনেকটাই।

২০১৬ সালের জুলাই মাসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ প্রকল্পের সূচনা করেন। হাইওয়ে থেকে শুরু করে বিভিন্ন রাস্তায় কীভাবে দুর্ঘটনা কমানো যায়, তা নিয়ে একাধিক সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। বেপরোয়া যানকে বাগে আনতে বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বসানো হয় সিসিটিভি। এছাড়াও স্পিড রেডার গান কিনে তা দিয়ে নজরদারি শুরু হয় বিভিন্ন জায়গায়। পাশাপাশি হাইওয়েতে বিশেষ চেকিংয়ের ব্যবস্থাও চালু হয়। যা রাজ্য পুলিস এলাকায় এতদিন ছিলই না। নির্দিষ্ট গতির চেয়ে বেশি জোরে গাড়ি চালালে চালকদের বিরুদ্ধে মোটা অঙ্কের জরিমানা করা শুরু করে ট্রাফিক বিভাগ।

এতে একদিকে গাড়ির গতি যেমন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে, তেমনি দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যাও ধীরে ধীরে কমতে শুরু করে। ট্রাফিক বিভাগ সূত্রে খবর, ২০১৬ সালে গোটা রাজ্যে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা ছিল ১৩,৫৮০টি। যার মধ্যে মৃত্যু হয় ৬৫৪৪ জনের। সেখানে ২০১৭ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত দুর্ঘটনা ঘটেছে ১১,৭০৫টি। মৃতের সংখ্যা কমে হয়েছে ৫৬২৫।

সবচেয়ে উল্লেখযোগ্য বিষয় হল, বর্ষশেষ ও বর্ষবরণের রাতে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা কমে যাওয়া। ২০১৬ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাসে দুর্ঘটনায় সংখ্যা ছিল ১১১০। হতাহত ছিল ৫৬২ জন। সেখানে ২০১৭ সালে তা কমে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৯২১টি। হতাহত হন ৪৬৩ জন। ২০১৭ সালে মৃতের সংখ্যা এক হাজারের বেশি কমেছে।

চলতি বছরে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা যাতে আরও কমিয়ে ফেলা যায়, সেজন্য নতুন উদ্যমে কাজ শুরু করে দিয়েছেন তাঁরা। বিভিন্ন জায়গায় সচেতনতামূলক প্রচারের পাশাপাশি আইন ভঙ্গকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে কড়া ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া শুরু হয়েছে। এরইসঙ্গে যে সমস্ত জেলায় এখনও ক্যামেরা বসানোর কাজ শেষ করা যায়নি, সেখানে তা দ্রুত সেরে ফেলার কাজ শুরু হয়েছে।

The mahant of Kapil Muni Ashram on Sagar Island has recently praised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee profusely for the work she has done in the making of adequate arrangements for the people visiting Sagar Mela and for making Sagar Island a popular tourist destination all through the year.

He said she has done so much on her own initiative that there cannot be any more demands.

The Kapil Muni Ashram has been entirely renovated. The road from Kochuberia to Sagar Island is being four-laned. Tourist cottages with all facilities have been built on the island. Many other facilities are also being set up.

During the six-and-a-half years of the Trinamool Congress Government, Sagar Island has seen unprecedented development.

সাগরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কাজে খুশি মহন্ত

আলোয় ভাসছে সৈকত। কপিলমুলি আশ্রম ঘিরে রাজ্য সরকারের সুবিশাল কর্মযজ্ঞ প্রায় শেষ পর্যায়ে। কচুবেড়িয়া থেকে প্রায় তিরিশ কিলোমিটার ফোর লেনের কাজ চলছে। থাকার জন্য তৈরী হয়েছে বহুমুখী অনেক কটেজ। অন্য নানারকম ব্যবস্থা। পুণ্যস্নানে আসা লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষের জন্যই এসব তৈরী হয়েছে। এই সাগর আমাদের চেনা নয়। সাড়ে ছয় বছরে বাংলার তথা দেশের পবিত্র এই তীর্থক্ষেত্রকে সত্যিই বদলে দিয়েছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

একসময় গঙ্গাসাগর বিখ্যাত ছিল শুধুমাত্র সাগরমেলার জন্য। এখন হয়ে উঠেছে পর্যটনের অন্যতম ঠিকানা। সারা বছরই প্রচুর মানুষ আসেন বেড়াতে। সমুদ্রতটের রূপই বদলে গিয়েছে কপিলমুনির দেশে।

কুম্ভ মেলার মতোই সাগর মেলার বিশালতা। তাই, প্রয়োজনীয় সব পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করতে নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। মহন্ত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন। তিনি বলেন ‘মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় খুব সৎ মানুষ। না চাইতেই উনি সাগরের জন্য যা করছেন, তার পর আর কিছু চাওয়ার নেই।’

The grand Uttar Banga Utsav (North Bengal Festival), organised by the Bengal Government, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri.

The festival is a brainchild of the Chief Minister, conceived to promote the rich culture of the region. The North Bengal Development Department is the nodal department for organising the festival.

As a part of the festival, cultural programmes will be arranged for two days in each district of north Bengal.

 

Salient points of her speech

  • Festivals are a celebration of togetherness. Durga Pujo, Kali Pujo, Eid, Christmas, New Year, Nabanna – the list of festivals is endless
  • We will observe Swami Vivekananda’s birthday as Vivek Utsab, Netaji’s birthday as Subhas Utsab
  • Nana bhasha, nana mot, nana poridhan, bibidher majhe dekho milan mohan (we are different but there is unity in diversity)
  • Our Govt will provide all support and cooperation to GTA and development boards for the development of the Hills. Hills will prosper if tourism flourishes
  • A new road project connecting India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan is being built in north Bengal
  • A new road connecting north and south Bengal will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3000 crore
  • We have started a Safari Park near Siliguri. A big tourism project is coming up at Gajoldoba (which I named Bhorer Aalo)
  • Cooch Behar has been declared as a Heritage Town. An airport is coming up at Malda and Balurghat
  • Airport at Cooch Behar has been developed. Flight operations will start soon
  • We have returned land to farmers at Kawakhali

আজ উত্তরবঙ্গ উৎসব উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

তিন দিনের সফরে উত্তরবঙ্গে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। আজ শিলিগুড়ির কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা স্টেডিয়ামে বার্ষিক উত্তরবঙ্গ উৎসবের শুভ সূচনা করলেন তিনি।

এই অঞ্চলের সংস্কৃতিকে জনসাধারণ এবং পর্যটকদের কাছে তুলে ধরতে এই উৎসবের সূচনা। পুরোটাই মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর মস্তিষ্কপ্রসূত। উত্তরবঙ্গ উন্নয়ন দপ্তরের তত্ত্বাবধানে হবে এই উৎসব।

উত্তরবঙ্গের প্রতিটি জেলায় দুদিন ব্যাপী সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে।

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ 

  • উৎসব মানুষকে একত্রিত করে। দুর্গা পুজো, কালী পুজো, ঈদ, বড় দিন, নিউ ইয়ার, নবান্ন – উৎসবের কোন শেষ নেই।
  • বিবেকানন্দের জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে বিবেক উৎসব ও নেতাজীর জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে সুভাষ উৎসব পালন করা হবে।
  • নানা ভাষা, নানা মত, নানা পরিধান, বিবিধের মাঝে দেখ মিলন মহান।
  • পাহাড়ের উন্নয়নের জন্য জিটিএ এবং বিভিন্ন বোর্ডকে আমাদের সরকার সব রকম সহযোগিতা করবে।
  • বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল, ভুটানের সাথে যোগাযোগের জন্য একটি নতুন রাস্তা তৈরি করা হচ্ছে।
  • দক্ষিণবঙ্গ ও উত্তরবঙ্গকে সংযুক্ত করার জন্য ৩০০০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে আরও একটি রাস্তা তৈরি করা হচ্ছে।
  • শিলিগুড়ির কাছে একটি নতুন সাফারি পার্ক তৈরি করা হয়েছে। গাজোলডোবায় একটি ট্যুরিজম প্রজেক্ট (যার নাম দিয়েছি ভোরের আলো) চালু হচ্ছে, সেখানে ভবিষ্যতে অনেক পর্যটক আসবেন।
  • কোচবিহার একটি হেরিটেজ টাউন। মালদা ও বালুরঘাটে বিমানবন্দর চালু হচ্ছে।
  • কোচবিহারের বিমানবন্দরের উন্নয়ন করা হয়েছে। শীঘ্রই সেখানে বিমান পরিষেবা শুরু হবে।
  • কাওয়াখালিতে কৃষকদের আমরা জমি ফিরিয়ে দিয়েছি।
  • আমরা কৃষিজমির খাজনা মুকুব করে দিয়েছি। বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কৃষকদের আমরা ক্ষতিপূরণ দিয়েছি।
  • চা বাগানের কর্মীদের উন্নয়নের জন্য একটি মন্ত্রীগোষ্ঠী গঠন করা হয়েছে। ১০০ কোটি টাকা দেওয়া হয়েছে। একটি টি ডিরেক্টরেট তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
  • আগামী বছর থেকে উত্তরবঙ্গ উৎসবে সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান সহ যাত্রাও দেখানো হবে।
  • উত্তরবঙ্গকে আগে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হত না। এখন আমি প্রায়ই এখানে আসি। উত্তরবঙ্গ এখন সবসময় আমার নজরে আছে। আমি সব সময় এখানকার মানুষের পাশে আছি। এখানে পাহাড়, নদী, জঙ্গল – কি নেই?
  • রাজবংশী আকাদেমি ও কামতাপুরি আকাদেমি গঠন করা হয়েছে। নেপালি, উর্দু, হিন্দি, গুরুমুখী ভাষাকে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • কাজের গতি কখনো থেমে থাকে না। কাজ চলছে, চলবে।

Bengal government has bagged the first prize from the Centre for implementing the e-tendering process.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made the announcement on Friday. She said: “Yesterday the Bengal government was awarded with the first prize for ensuring e-tendering. The state government has become the best in the country by ensuring e-tendering of 53,000 projects worth Rs 36,000 crore and the Ministry of Finance has given the award.”

The Chief Minister congratulated the state Finance department and the state Information Technology department for their efforts, which made it possible for the state government to bag the award.

Soon after coming to power, the Mamata Banerjee government has started taking all necessary steps to ensure e-governance and at the same time, the e-tendering process and the e-Integrated Finance Management System (eIFMS) were introduced. Before the e-tendering process had started, the entire process of tendering used to take place manually that had left many options for lack of transparency.

Besides making the process to participate in the tendering process easier, the Mamata Banerjee government has also ensured transparency by introducing e-tendering.

 

টেন্ডারে স্বচ্ছতা এনে সেরা বাংলা

দেশের মধ্যে ই-টেন্ডারিংয়ে সেরা হয়েছে রাজ্য। ৫৩ হাজারের বেশি ই-টেন্ডারিং করে প্রায় ৩৬ হাজার কোটি টাকার কাজ হয়েছে। তা যে স্বচ্ছ প্রশাসন চালানোর স্বীকৃতি সেটাও স্পষ্ট।

ই-গভর্ন্যান্স ও ই-ট্যাক্সেশন-এর ক্ষেত্রেও রাজ্য সেরা হয়েছিল। অর্থ দপ্তর ও তথ্য প্রযুক্তি দপ্তর যৌথ ভাবে কাজ করেছে। এজন্য ওই দুই দপ্তরকে অভিনন্দনও জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই ই-গভর্ন্যান্সের ওপর জোর দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। অর্থ দপ্তরে চালু হয়েছে e-Integrated Finance Management System (eIFMS)।

The Bengal Government’s Irrigation Department, in collaboration with Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), has chalked out a plan to beautify the banks of a stretch on the Bagjola Canal that passes through New Town.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants the stretch to be developed which is situated close to the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, the showpiece convention centre of the State Government.

The banks of Bagjola Canal have already been beautified and lights have been installed and meticulous gardening has been done. The State Government is carrying out dredging operation in some parts of the Bagjola Canal and the embankments are being repaired or reconstructed.

As part of the beautification project, among other things, fountains will be installed along the banks of the canal, nets will be installed on both the two banks to prevent people from throwing garbage in the canal and the floating garbage will be cleaned.

বাগজোলা খালপাড়ের সৌন্দর্যায়ন করবে সেচ দপ্তর

হিডকোর সঙ্গে যৌথ উদ্যোগে নিউটাউনের বাগজোলা খালপাড়ের সৌন্দর্যায়ন করবে রাজ্য সেচ দপ্তর।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ঐকান্তিক ইচ্ছায় নব নির্মিত বিশ্ব বাংলা কনভেনশন সেন্টারের অনতিদূরে অবস্থিত এই বাগজোলা খালপাড়ের সৌন্দর্যায়ন করার উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের।

বাগজোলা খালের দুপাশে ইতিমধ্যেই বসানো হয়েছে নতুন আলোস্তম্ভ, সাজানো হয়েছে বাগান। রাজ্য সরকার বাগজোলা খালে ড্রেজিং করছে এবং বিভিন্ন বাঁধগুলোর সংস্কারও করা হচ্ছে।

এই খালের দুপাশে বসানো হবে ফোয়ারাও। দুই পাড় জাল দিয়ে ঘেরা হবে যাতে এই খালে কেউ ময়লা ফেলতে না পারেন। নিয়মিত ভাসমান ময়লা পরিষ্কারও করা হবে।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during the inauguration programme of Mati Utsav on January 2 announced bravery awards for 57 Kanyashree clubs in Purba Bardhaman district that helped stop around 116 child marriages in the last five months.

She also handed over appreciation certificates to 10 such clubs.

According to district administration officials, the Kanyashree beneficiaries played a crucial role in combating child marriage in the district.

Clubs have been formed in 781 schools in the district. The members, who are all girls, act as the eyes and ears of the district administration and alert the authorities whenever a child marriage is about to happen. They also help the officials counsel the parents of minors against child marriages.

১১৬টি নাবালিকা বিয়ে আটকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রশংসা পেল কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব

পূর্ব বর্ধমানে মাটি উৎসব উদ্বোধনের মঞ্চে জেলায় পাঁচ মাসে ১১৬টি নাবালিকা বিয়ে আটকানোর জন্য কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাবের সদস্যদের প্রশংসা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, “কত সাহস নিয়ে কন্যাশ্রীর মেয়েরা বাল্যবিবাহ রুখেছে। ওদের প্রতি আমার ভালবাসা ও আশীর্বাদ রইল। পুলিশকে ওদের সাহসিকতার জন্য পুরস্কার দিতে বলব।”

আগে পড়াশোনা, পরে বিয়ে— পুরুলিয়ার রেখা কালিন্দী, বীণা কালিন্দী, আফসানা খাতুনদের এই লড়াই এখন ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে রাজ্যে। এই সব মেয়েদের হাত আরও শক্ত করছে স্কুলে-স্কুলে গড়ে ওঠা ‘কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব’। সহপাঠীরা সবাই স্কুলে আসছে কি না, নিয়মিত খোঁজ রাখে পূর্ব বর্ধমানের কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব। কেউ টানা দিন কয়েক না এলেই বাড়িতে হাজির হয় তারা।

এই কাজের জন্য এ দিন দশটি কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাবের সভানেত্রীর হাতে শংসাপত্র তুলে দেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা আধিকারিক বলেন, “আমাদের চোখ ও কান হচ্ছে কন্যাশ্রী মেয়েরা। সহপাঠীর বিয়ে রোখার পাশাপাশি, কন্যাশ্রীরা সংশ্লিষ্ট অভিভাবকদের কাউন্সেলিংও করছে।”

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর অনুপ্রেরণায় ২০১৩ সালের ১লা অক্টোবর এই প্রকল্প চালু হয়। এই প্রকল্পের উদ্দেশ্য বাল্যবিবাহ রোধ করা। রাজ্যের প্রতি অঞ্চলের প্রায় ১৫,৫০০ প্রতিষ্ঠান–প্রথা বহির্ভূত বিদ্যালয়, মাদ্রাসা, কলেজ, মুক্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং বিশ্ব বিদ্যালয় বৃত্তিমূলক প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র, শিল্প প্রশিক্ষণ, এমনকি ক্রীড়া প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রের প্রায় ৪০লক্ষ কিশোরীকে এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে আনা হয়েছে।

৫০০০-এরও বেশী মেয়েকে আত্মরক্ষার প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছে। রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জে জনপরিষেবা দিবস উপলক্ষে এক অনুষ্ঠানে বাংলার প্রকল্প ‘কন্যাশ্রী’ প্রথম পুরস্কার পায়। ৬৩টি দেশের ৫৫২ প্রকল্পকে হারিয়ে সেরার শিরোপা পায় কন্যাশ্রী। এর ফলে অসাধারন ভাবে কমেছে স্কুলছুটের হার। এখন স্কুল ও কলেজের গণ্ডী পেরিয়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়েও পাড়ি দিয়েছে কন্যাশ্রী।
