Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday appealed to everyone, specially the younger generation to assist the elderly, physically challenged, pregnant women, labourers, farmers and workers in bank queues.

He wrote: “I urge everyone, especially the younger generation and all brothers and sisters of our state, to do our bit in assisting the elderly, the physically challenged, pregnant women, labourers, farmers, workers and all those who are very worried and do not know how to fill bank forms and physically lack the strength to stand in long queues.

Please reach out and help them. Let us help each other irrespective of caste, creed, religion and political affinity. Try and make drinking water arrangements outside ATMs and bank branches with the consent and approval central/state/local authorities. There’s no bigger religion in the world than HUMANITY.

Let’s rise up and do our bit for a better tomorrow.”

 

মানুষের পাশে থাকার আবেদন অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের

রবিবার অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সবার কাছে বিশেষভাবে তরুণ প্রজন্মকে মানুষের পাশে থাকার আবেদন জানান। বৃদ্ধ, শারীরিকভাবে প্রতিবন্ধী, গর্ভবতী নারী ব্যাংক লাইনে দাঁড়িয়ে কৃষক ও শ্রমিকদের সহায়তা করার আবেদন জানান তরুণ প্রজন্মকে।

তিনি বলেন, “আমি সকলকে আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি, বিশেষ করে রাজ্যের যুবসমাজকে, যে তারা যেন জাতি, ধর্ম, রাজনৈতিক মতভেদ অগ্রাহ্য করে বয়স্কদের, প্রতিবন্ধিদের, গর্ভবতী মহিলাদের, শ্রমিকদের, চাষীদের এবং বাকি সকলকে যাদের লম্বা লাইনে দাঁড়ানোর ক্ষমতা নেই কিংবা যাদের ব্যাঙ্ক ফর্ম ভরার পদ্ধতি জানা নেই, উপযুক্ত সাহায্য করে। ওদেরকে এটিএম-র এবং ব্যঙ্কের বাইরে, উপযুক্ত প্রশাসনিক সম্মতি নিয়ে, পানীয় জলের সুব্যাবস্থা রাখার আর্জি জানাচ্ছি। পৃথিবীতে মনুষ্যত্বের চেয়ে বড় আর কোনো ধর্ম নেই।

চলুন আমরা সবাই মিলে এক সুন্দরতর ভবিষ্যত গড়ার চেষ্টা করি।”

On Sunday, Trinamool Chairperson and Bengal Chief Minister said Mamata Banerjee said she spoke to the President of India on the issue of demonetisation and he has kindly consented to meet her and leaders of other Opposition parties on November 16 or 17.

Mamata Banerjee gave a call for a “joint movement” by Opposition parties against the Centre to give people some respite from the ongoing “financial anarchy” that has been caused due to the decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.

She later tweeted: “The Hon President was kind enough to take my call now. I briefed him about how common people are suffering because of demonetization. I thank him for agreeing to meet reps of political parties on Nov 16 or 17 where we will brief him in detail on the grim situation.”

She also spoke to leaders of various parties and requested them to accompany her to meet the President.

In another tweet Mamata Banerjee stated: “This is not an ego battle. I humbly appeal again to the Govt at the Centre. Save the common people from more suffering,and the country from financial catastrophe, by withdrawing this hasty decision. 1st pl put a proper action plan in place.Breathing space for people. Today I spoke with several political leaders regarding a joint movement and to meet Rashtrapati Ji together. Let us all fight this together to give relief to common citizens, the poor and stop this financial anarchy.”

 

নোট বাতিল নিয়ে রাষ্ট্রপতির সাথে কথা বললেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নোট নিয়ে তাঁর তীব্র প্রতিবাদ এবার তিনি ভারতের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে ছড়িয়ে দিতে চান। তিনি চান দেশ জুড়ে বিরোধী ঐক্য গড়ে তুলতে। তাই এবার কোমর বেঁধে ময়দানে নামলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। তাঁর প্রতিবাদে সামিল হতে সব বিরোধী দলের কাছে আবেদনও জানিয়েছেন তিনি। সমস্ত দলের প্রতিনিধিদের নিয়ে তিনি রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখার্জির সঙ্গেও দেখা করতে চেয়ে রবিবার রাষ্ট্রপতিকে ফোনও করেন। সময় পেয়েছেন। আগামী বুধবার দুপুর দেড়টায় মমতা ব্যানার্জি যাবেন রাষ্ট্রপতির কাছে। মমতার সঙ্গে ফোনে কথা হয়েছে বেশ কয়েকজন বিরোধী নেতার।

মমতা ব্যানার্জি রবিবার টুইট করে জানিয়েছেন, ব্যাঙ্ক ও এ টি এমের সামনে টাকা তোলার জন্য যাঁরা লাইন দিয়েছেন, তাঁদের অপমান করা হচ্ছে। তিনি এদিন বিনম্রচিত্তে কেন্দ্রের কাছে নোট বাতিলের বিষয়টি পুনর্বিবেচনার করার আবেদন জানিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেছেন, এটা কোনও ইগোর লড়াই নয়। সাধারণ মানুষকে স্বস্তি দিতে সব দলের একসঙ্গে নামা উচিত। তিনি অর্থনৈতিক নৈরাজ্য বন্ধ করার ডাক দিয়েছেন। তিনি জানিয়েছেন, অর্থনৈতিক বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টিকারী হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত প্রত্যাহার করা উচিত। আগে সঠিক পরিকল্পনা করা উচিত ছিল। যেখানে সাধারণ মানুষ স্বস্তি পেত। সাধারণ ও গরিব মানুষকে হয়রানি থেকে মুক্তি দিতে অর্থনৈতিক নৈরাজ্য বন্ধ হওয়া উচিত।

নোট বাতিল নিয়ে মানুষের হয়রানি দেখতে শনিবার রাজপথে নেমেছিলেন মমতা ব্যানার্জি। শরৎ বোস রোড, ভবানীপুর আশুতোষ মুখার্জি রোডে বেসরকারি ব্যাঙ্কে যান। এ টি এমের অবস্থাও দেখেন। নোট বাতিলের ঘোষণার দিন মমতা ব্যানার্জিই প্রথম প্রতিবাদের সুর চড়িয়ে বলেন, এই সরকারকে বরখাস্ত করা উচিত। তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্ত। অনেক মানুষ আত্মহত্যা করতে পারেন। গরিব মানুষ টাকা রাখবে কোথায়?‌

শনিবার নবান্নে মিডিয়াকে বলেন, সাধারণ মানুষের হয়রানি চোখে দেখে এলাম। অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে। কেন ব্যাঙ্ক, এ টি এমে টাকা থাকবে না?‌ লাইন দিয়ে সাধারণ মানুষকে কেন শূন্য হাতে ফিরে যেতে হচ্ছে?‌ ২০০০ টাকা নিয়ে মানুষ কী করবে?‌ দোকানদার নিচ্ছে না। ভাঙাতে পারছে না। ১০০ টাকা বেশি পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না। আমি আবার রাজপথে নামব।‌‌‌

Calling the government anti-poor, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted that a few money launderers are profiting due to the ‘black decision’ of demonetisation.

Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said she is ready to with all Opposition parties to save the country. “We are ready to work with Congress, SP, BSP and other Opposition parties to save the country,” she said in a press conference in Kolkata.

Demanding immediate withdrawal of the ‘draconian’ decision to demonetise Rs 500/1000 notes, she said the government’s move without proper planning was dangerous. “I personally visited several banks today to listen to tales of hardship of common people. More than two lakh ATMs are closed, money is not available; people are facing lot of problems,” said Banerjee.

Calling the government anti-poor, the chief minister asserted that a few money launderers are profiting due to this ‘black decision’. “Only 1 % people hold black money; why are the other 99% being harassed for this,” said the CM adding that it is a betrayal with people.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the common people were facing hardships because of government’s decision.”A sudden midnight decision was taken. But few people in the ruling party knew about it,” she said.

Trinamool Congress has already given a notice in the Rajya Sabha for a discussion on the demonetisation issue on November 16, the opening day of winter session of Parliament. Leader of the party in Lok Sabha Sudip Bandopadhyay has said the party would bring an adjournment motion in the house on the same day.

Mamata Banerjee has also penned a poem on the demonetisation issue.

Expressing her solidarity with thousands of those affected by the “hasty and arbitrary decision” of the Centre, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written a poem.

It was she who first reacted shortly after Prime Minister announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes and said that this would create chaos all over the country and common people would be at the receiving end.

Her prediction has come true. Throughout the country, lakhs of common people were seen standing in long queues trying desperately to exchange their notes.

In this backdrop, she writes that intolerance and autocracy have tarnished the image of “rajdharma”.

Without naming the PM, the poetry lashes out at him and his effort to shield his close aides. The earning of common people has been termed as black money while those in the helm of affairs have come out clean.

The hasty and unplanned decisions have “broken” the hearts of common people. She questioned how the autocrats can hide their shame by punishing common people.

She maintained that people were criticising him for shielding the “sinners”. She remarked that those who have been “put under stress” will turn their back by offering you “three talaq”.

৫০০ ও ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিলের যে সিদ্ধান্ত কেন্দ্র নিয়েছে তার প্রতিবাদে কলম ধরলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। অর্থনৈতিক অরাজকতার কারণে অগণিত নিপীড়িত সাধারণ মানুষের জন্য প্রতিবাদ হিসেবে কবিতা লিখলেন বাংলার অগ্নিকন্যা।

৫০০ ও ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিলের প্রতিবাদে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ই প্রথম তোপ দাগেন যে এই ঘোষণার ফলে দেশব্যাপী সাধারণ মানুষকে প্রচুর অসুবিধের মধ্যে পড়তে হবে। মানুষ ঘন্টার পর ঘন্টা কষ্ট করে লাইন দিচ্ছেন শুধু মাত্র কিছু টাকার নোট বদলানোর উদ্দেশ্যে। তিনি এও বলেন আজ রাজধর্ম ঢেকে গেছে অসহিষ্ণুতা ও স্বৈরাচারে।

প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নাম না করে তিনি বলেন, নিজের কাছের লোকেরা যাদের প্রচুর কালো অর্থ রয়েছে তাদেরকে আড়াল করে সাধারণ মানুষের কষ্টার্জিত টাকাকে কালো টাকা বলা হচ্ছে।

কেন্দ্রের এই অপরিকল্পিত ও হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত দেশের মানুষকে খুব বেদনা দিয়েছে। তিনি আরও বলেন এই স্বৈরাচারীরা কি করে সাধারণ মানুষকে শাস্তি দিয়ে নিজেদের লজ্জা ঢাকতে পারেন?

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় লিখেছে, সাধারণ মানুষ প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উদ্দেশ্যে বলছে যে তিনি আসল অপরাধীদের আড়াল করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, আজ প্রধান মন্ত্রী যাদের কষ্টের মধ্যে ফেলেছেন সেই জনগণই প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে উপযুক্ত সময়ে তিন তালাক দিয়ে দেবে।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the Phase II of Mother’s Wax Museum in New Town today. She has opened Phase II of the museum by pressing the remote button from the dais of 22nd Kolkata International Film Festival scheduled to be held at Netaji Indoor Stadium.

Exactly two years ago, on November 10, 2014 she had inaugurated Mother’s Wax Museum by pressing the remote button at the 20th KIFF held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. Over the past two years, the Wax Museum has become an important tourist destination with the footfall touching 3.25 lakh.

There will be a Hollywood section where the wax statues of great stars of recent past will be kept. The visitors will be able to go to the new arena after visiting the existing museum.

There will be a zone where there will be statues of great personalities of Bengal in the 19th and 20th century. There will also be a children’s section where there will be statues of Harry Potter and Mr Bean among others that are very popular among children.

There will be a zone for “Alien” like characters created by famous film director Steven Spielberg in series of films like Close Encounters of the Third Kind or ET.

There will be a scary zone or screaming zone where a visitor can suddenly find a ghostly figure appearing beside them. There will be special light effects and the ambience will be artificially created for the zone. The visitor can also have a wax casting of their hands.

মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামের দ্বিতীয় পর্যায়ের উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় নিউটাউনে মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামের দ্বিতীয় পর্যায়ের উদ্বোধন করেন। ২২তম কলকাতা আন্তর্জার্তিক চলচ্চিত্র উত্সবের মঞ্চ থেকে বোতাম টিপে তিনি এই উদ্বোধন করেন।

ঠিক দুবছর আগে ২০১৪ সালের ১০ই নভেম্বর নেতাজি ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়ামে ২০তম কলকাতা আন্তর্জার্তিক চলচ্চিত্র উত্সবের মঞ্চ থেকে বোতাম টিপে তিনি প্রথম পর্যায়ের সূচনা করেন। দুবছরের মধ্যেই মিউজিয়ামটি খুবই জনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠেছে। সোয়া তিন লক্ষ মানুষ এখনো পর্যন্ত মিউজিয়ামে গেছেন।

এই নতুন অংশটিতে হলিউড তারকাদের মূর্তি থাকবে। প্রথম পর্যায়ের অংশ থেকে এই দ্বিতীয় ভাগে প্রবেশ করা যাবে। ঊনবিংশ ও বিংশ শতাব্দীর বাংলার বিখ্যাত মনিষীদের মূর্তিও থাকবে এই পর্যায়ে।

শিশুদের জন্য থাকবে তাদের মধ্যে জনপ্রিয় চরিত্রদের মূর্তি, যেমন- মিস্টার বিন, হ্যারি পটার। পাশাপাশি স্পিলবার্গের বিখ্যাত ETর চরিত্রদেরও মূর্তি থাকবে।

The Trinamool Congress on Thursday gave a notice in the Rajya Sabha to suspend business on November 16 and discuss the demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes.

“Today (Thursday) we gave a notice in the Rajya Sabha to discuss the issue suspending business under Rule 267 on November 16,” Leader of the party in Rajya Sabha, Derek O’Brien said.

He said it was vital that the black money hoarders and the corrupt were punished, but it must not be done by inconveniencing the common people and the poor. He added that there must be a proper action plan for implementation of such an extensive move which directly affects millions, especially the middle class and the poor.

Hitting out at the Centre over the decision, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier said the demonetisation has resulted in a “complete disaster and chaos” and had urged the Modi government to rescind the “hasty decision”.

“Please save people from this disaster. Roads are closed, markets shut, patients not being admitted to private hospitals, millions affected. Chaos everywhere,” Mamata Banerjee had said on Wednesday.

 

৫০০, ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে রাজ্যসভায় নোটিস দিল তৃণমূল

৫০০, ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে আগামী ১৬ নভেম্বর রাজ্যসভায় আলোচনা চেয়ে নোটিস দিয়েছে তৃণমূল সংসদীয় দল৷

রাজ্যসভায় তৃণমূলের দলনেতা ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েন জানান আজ (বৃহস্পতিবার) ২৬৭ নম্বর ধারা অনুযায়ী অন্য কাজ ফেলে রাজ্যসভায় ‘নোট-ব্যান’-এর মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনার জন্য নোটিস দেওয়া হয়েছে৷

তিনি বলেন, “কালো টাকার মালিকদের শাস্তি পাওয়া উচিত কিন্তু সাধারণ মানুষ ও গরিবকে হয়রান করে নয়। আগে থেকেই সঠিক পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া উচিত ছিল৷ ভুল পরিকল্পনার মাশুল দিয়েছেন মধ্যবিত্ত ও গরিব মানুষ৷ কালো টাকা উদ্ধারে কোনও কাজই করেনি কেন্দ্র৷”

আগেই কেন্দ্রের এই সিদ্ধান্তে তীব্র ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, “মোদী সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্ত ‘হঠকারী’, এটা সম্পূর্ণরূপে একটি বিপর্যয়”।

বুধবার তিনি সোশ্যাল নেটওয়ার্কিং সাইটে বলেন, “এই বিপর্যয় থেকে সাধারণ মানুষকে বাঁচান। রাস্তা অবরুদ্ধ। বাজার বন্ধ। বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে রোগীদের ভর্তি নেওয়া হচ্ছে না। চারদিকে বিশৃঙ্খল পরিস্থিতি”।

Raising her pitch against Centre on demonetisation of Rs 500, Rs 1,000 notes, Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee called upon all opposition parties to unite and fight against the ‘political and financial anarchy’.

“May I appeal to all political parties in the Opposition to work together boldly against the anti-poor government at the Centre. Let us fight this political and financial anarchy together. We will be with you all,” Mamata Banerjee said in a statement on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Trinamool has given a notice in Rajya Sabha to discuss the issue on November 16.

Earlier, Didi tweeted: “I enquired from all sections of society about present financial chaos. The feeling is that black money was to be brought back from outside as per the electoral assurance. But now the government has made the common people feel helpless and penniless. Is it right?”

She also shared an example of how the demonitisation is affecting the marginalised section: “There are millions of real stories across cities, towns,villages about #NoteBan affecting the marginalised. Here is only one example. Tea garden owners have expressed difficulty to pay wages on time. This could lead to frustration among poor workers, most of whom are tribals. Desperation? Starvation?”

 

আর্থিক অরাজকতার প্রতিবাদে বিরোধী ঐক্যের ডাক মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের

কালো টাকার বিরুদ্ধে অভিযানের নামে পাঁচশো, হাজারের নোট বাতিল করে রাজনৈতিক, আর্থিক অরাজকতার সৃষ্টি করেছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। বিপুল সমস্যায় পড়েছেন গরিব মানুষ। কেন্দ্রের এই গরিব বিরোধী সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে সব বিরোধীদলকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ আন্দোলনে যোগ দেওয়ার ডাক দিলেন তৃণমূল নেত্রী তথা বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

বৃহস্পতিবার এই নিয়ে একাধিক টুইট করলেন তিনি। সব রাজনৈতিক দলকে সাহস করে আন্দোলনে যোগ দিতে বললেন। এই অর্থনৈতিক বিশৃঙ্খলার জন্য কে কীভাবে দুর্ভোগে পড়েছেন, সমাজের সব শ্রেণীর মানুষকে তা জানানোর কথাও লেখেন তিনি। লোকসভা নির্বাচনে বি জে পির প্রতিশ্রুতির কথা উল্লেখ করে টুইট করেন, কথা ছিল বিদেশে জমা করা কালো টাকা দেশে ফিরিয়ে আনা হবে। কিন্তু এখন দেখা যাচ্ছে দেশের সাধারণ, গরিব মানুষকেই অসহায়, কপর্দকশূণ্য বোধ করতে বাধ্য করা হচ্ছে। এই নোট বাতিলের জন্য শহরে, নগরে, গ্রামে কীভাবে সাধারণ মানুষ অসুবিধার মুখে পড়েছেন, তার একাধিক উদাহরণ পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। যেমন হাতে নগদ টাকা না থাকার জন্য চা বাগানের মালিকরা সময়ে মজুরি দিতে পারবেন না বলে জানিয়েছেন। এতে তো নিরাশা নেমে আসবে গরিব শ্রমিকদের মধ্যে। এর মধ্যে অনেকেই আদিবাসী। তাঁরা হয় অনাহারে কাটাতে বাধ্য হবেন, নয়ত মরিয়া হয়ে উঠবেন।

এর আগে নবান্ন থেকে একদফা বি জে পির বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দেগে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “মানুষকে ব্ল্যাক মানি ফিরিয়ে দেওয়ার কথা বলেছিলেন, উল্টে লক্ষ্মীর ঝাঁপি কেড়ে নিলেন। একদিনে ক্ষতি হয়ে গেল ২৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা।” বি জে পি–র নাম না করে তিনি বলেন, “উত্তরপ্রদেশে ওরা হারবেই। তার জন্য নির্বাচনে কোনও টাকা খরচ করতে হবে না। মানুষ এটা ভালভাবে নেয়নি। ওদের জামানত বাজেয়াপ্ত হবে”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “খুচরো না থাকায় সমস্যায় পড়েছেন মানুষ। আমার বাড়ির বাজার করা যায়নি। বললাম মুড়ি, আলুভাজা করো। চা–শ্রমিকরা দৈনিক মজুরি পাচ্ছেন না। মালিকেরা রাজ্য সরকারকে চিঠি দিয়েছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এই চিঠি পেয়ে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে বলেন, একজন শ্রমিকও যদি অনাহারে থাকেন, বা কারও কিছু হয়, কাউকে ছেড়ে কথা বলব না। মুখ্য সচিব বাসুদেব ব্যানার্জিকে তিনি নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন অবিলম্বে যেন ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়। সেইমতো মুখ্য সচিব এদিনই কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থ মন্ত্রককে চিঠি লিখে ব্যবস্থা নিতে বলেছেন। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান, রাজ্যে চা–শ্রমিকের সংখ্যা আড়াই লক্ষ। প্রতিবেশী রাজ্য অসমে চা–শ্রমিকের সংখ্যা ৫ লক্ষ। মালিকেরা ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে দিনে ১০ হাজার টাকার বেশি তুলতে না পারায় তাঁদের মজুরি দিতে পারছেন না।”

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এদিন বলেন, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে একদিনে ২৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা ক্ষতি হয়ে গেছে। দেশে অর্থনৈতিক অরাজকতা তৈরি চলছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নাম না করে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কটাক্ষ, “সবাইকে ভিখিরি বানিয়ে দিয়েছেন। নিজে জাপান চলে গেছেন।”

তাঁর কথায়, “ব্ল্যাক মানি যত খুশি ধরো। কিন্তু তার জন্য গ্রামবাংলা, গরিব, মধ্যবিত্ত মানুষ কেন ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবেন?‌ ব্যাঙ্কে তো কর্মী নেই। কোনও কোনও ব্যাঙ্কে তো একজন কর্মী রয়েছেন। এতবড় প্রক্রিয়া সামলানো যায়?‌ পোস্ট অফিস তো সাইন বোর্ড হয়ে গেছে। এ রাজ্যে ৭০০–৮০০ গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতে ব্যাঙ্কের শাখা নেই। মুষ্টিমেয় ধনী ছাড়া সবাই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। কেউ খুশি নন। যদি এটা সত্যিই হত, আগে থেকে কেন ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়নি?‌ ব্যাঙ্কে কেন ১০০ টাকার নোট রাখা হয়নি?‌ কেন এ টি এম থেকে টাকা পাওয়া যাবে না?‌ সংসার খরচ চালাতে যাঁরা ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে টাকা তুলেছেন তাঁদের কাছে ৫০০, ১০০০ টাকার নোট রয়েছে। এখন কী করা যাবে?‌ মানুষের কাছে শুধু ৫০০, ১০০০ টাকার নোট রয়েছে। কেউ অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লে বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসা করাতে যেতে পারবে না। এ সব কি বোঝা উচিত ছিল না?‌ কেন ১০০ টাকা নোটের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়নি?‌ আমার বাড়িতে বাজার করা যায়নি। দলের তহবিলের যে অর্থ রয়েছে তার জন্য নিয়মিত কর দেওয়া হয়। কিন্তু সাধারণ মানুষের কী হবে?‌ ক্রমশ মানুষকে ভিখিরি করে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “কিছুদিন আগে ক্রেডিট কার্ড, ডেবিট কার্ড নিয়ে তো কেলেঙ্কারি হল। তার কী হল?‌ কেউ জানে কি?‌ সংসদের অধিবেশনে এ নিয়ে প্রশ্ন উঠবে। নতুন নোট ছাপতে তো কয়েক কোটি টাকা খরচ হবে। এ ব্যাপারে আমি প্রথম সরব হয়েছিলাম। এখন একে একে সবাই সরব হচ্ছেন।”

The 22nd edition of Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) was inaugurated today in the presence of a galaxy of stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Sanjay Dutt, Parineeti Chopra and host of stars from the Bengali film industry.

Hundreds of people from different parts of the state made a beeline for the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Friday afternoon to witness the inauguration of the week-long film festival. The ceremony was presided over by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “I extend my heartiest greetings to all delegates present here today. This is a festival of the people, by the people, for the people. Nowhere in the world so many people come together for a film festival. We show films in every neighourhood.  Cinema speaks a language that no other medium can”.

The programme began with a performance by Pandit Tanmoy Bose and folk artistes of Lok Prasar Prakalpa. Shah Rukh Khan enthralled the audience by delivering a speech in Bangla.

Shri Amitabh Bachchan spoke at length about the portrayal of women’s issues in Indian cinema. During the course of his speech, he congratulated the CM for naming a flyover in Kolkata as “Maa” and praised Bengal’s Kanyashree Prakalpa.

155 films from 65 countries will be screened across 105 screens at 13 venues in Kolkata. A Bengali film ‘The Song of Life’ will kick off proceedings at the cine fiesta. This is the first time that a Bengali movie has been selected as the opening film.

 

 

শুরু হল ২২ তম আন্তর্জাতিক কলকাতা চলচ্চিত্র উ९সব

আজ থেকে শুরু হল ২২তম আন্তর্জাতিক কলকাতা চলচ্চিত্র উ९সব। ৬৫ দেশের ১৫৫টি ছবি নিয়ে শুরু হচ্ছে এই চলচ্চিত্র উ९সব। দেখানো হবে ১৩ টি পর্দায়।

আজ নেতাজী ইনডোরে এই উ९সবের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান ছিল। উপস্থিত ছিলেন অমিতাভ বচ্চন, শাহরুখ খান সহ বিশিষ্ট অভিনেতা অভিনেত্রীরা।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের চিন্তার পথ ধরেই এগিয়েছে এই উ९সবের সুর।এবার চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবের থিম হল ‘সিনেমার সবাই, সবার সিনেমা’। আক্ষরিক অর্থে ২২ তম চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবে যেন বৈচিত্র্যের সমাহার।

চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবের ছবি দেখানো হবে নন্দন–১, নন্দন–২, নন্দন–৩ ছাড়াও শিশির মঞ্চ, রবীন্দ্রসদন, রক্সি, নজরুল তীর্থ, নবীনা, স্টার থিয়েটার, কার্নিভাল সিনেমা, মিত্রা ও সিটি সেন্টার–১ এর আইনক্সে। ইতিমধ্যেই রবীন্দ্র সদন ও নন্দন চত্বর সবুজায়ন কড়া হচ্ছে ও আরও জায়গা বাড়ানো হচ্ছে। উ९সব চলবে ১৮ নভেম্বর পর্যন্ত।‌‌‌‌

Like past years, the Bengal Government honoured today the Best Durga Pujas with Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2016. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave away the prizes to the Puja Committees at a programme in Nazrul Manch.

Dubai Bong Connection and Hong Kong Bengali Association along with Bangladesh Society for Puja and Culture in Sydney got Biswa Banga Sharad Samman 2016 for organising the best Durga puja overseas. This year, Durga pujas organised in foreign countries were included in the list of awardees.

This is the fourth year of the awards. Durga Puja committees participating from other states and foreign countries were also honoured.

Altogether 173 community puja committees coming from the district got prizes under three categories- best puja, best pandal and best idol.

Noted vocalist Pandit Ajay Chakraborty, Dwijen Mukhopadhyay and actress Madhabi Mukhopadhyay were on the dais. State Ministers, dignitaries, the Director General of Police and the Kolkata Commissioner of Police were also present in the function. Jit Ganguly sang a song penned by Mamata Banerjee.

বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান (২০১৬) পুরস্কার প্রদান করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

প্রতি বছরের ন্যায় এবারেও বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান প্রদান করল রাজ্য সরকার। মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উপস্থিতিতে বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান ও কলকাতা পুলিশ আয়োজিত প্রতিযোগিতার পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। নজরুল মঞ্চে হয়এই অনুষ্ঠান।কলকাতা ছাড়াও দেশের ও বিদেশের নানা পুজোরসেরাগুলিকে সম্মাননা প্রদান করা হল এবছর।

এটি এই পুরস্কার বিতরণের চতুর্থ বর্ষ। শুধু কলকাতাই নয়, জেলা, অন্য রাজ্য ও বিদেশের পুজো কমিটিগুলিকে পুরস্কার দিল রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্য ও বিদেশ থেকে আসা পুজো কমিটির কর্মকর্তাদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। লন্ডন, হংকং, দুবাই, বাংলাদেশ ও সিডনি থেকে পুজোকর্তারা এসেছিলেন পুরস্কার নিতে। এছাড়া রাজ্য থেকেও পুজো কমিটির কর্মকর্তাদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেওয়া হয়। ১৯টি জেলার ১৭৩টি কমিটি সেরা পুজো, সেরা প্যান্ডেল এবং সেরা প্রতিমার পুরস্কার পেয়েছে।

Bengal Government will set up a committee to prepare a comprehensive plan for the development of Posta in Burrabazar, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Monday. She said this while inaugurating a Jagadhatri Puja function organised by Posta traders on Monday evening.

The committee will include the Kolkata Mayor, Trinamool MP Sudip Bandopadhyay, the commissioner of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), Kolkata’s Commissioner of Police, local MLA and 10 traders who will be selected by the local trading community. The committee will meet to prepare the master plan and submit a report within three months.

“You sit and discuss the issues and come up with a master plan to carry out comprehensive development of Burrabazar,” she said, adding “there should be proper parking places and amenities for the workers”.

She said lorries are parked in the narrow lanes and by-lanes making it difficult for other vehicles and pedestrians to enter the area. “These problems need to be addressed and only a proper planning can accomplish this,” she pointed out. “It is the place where you do business and so you need to put in efforts to beautify the area,” she added.

“There are many old buildings which have not been repaired for several years. KMC has declared them dangerous and dilapidated and given notices to the owners. But despite that people continue to reside in them, risking their lives. The owners and the tenants should sit together to resolve the matter,” she maintained.

 

পোস্তার উন্নয়নে কমিটি গঠন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

সোমবার পোস্তায় জগদ্ধাত্রী পুজোর উদ্বোধন করতে গিয়ে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, কাজ করজে আমাদের কেউ রুখতে পারবে না। কাজ নিয়ে আমি কারও সঙ্গে আপস করব না। ভিড়ে ঠাসা পোস্তায় জগদ্ধাত্রী পুজোর অনুষ্ঠানের মঞ্চে দাঁড়িয়ে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, পোস্তাকে ঢেলে সাজাতে হবে। পোস্তার উন্নয়ন করতে হবে। এদিন তিনি ১০ জনের একটি কমিটি গঠন করার কথা ঘোষণা করেন।

মঞ্চে দাঁড়িয়ে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এদিন ট্রেডার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের কর্তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, আপনারা কাদের কমিটিতে রাখবেন, তাদের নাম পাঠান। নগরপাল রাজীব কুমারের কাছে নামের তালিকা জমা দিতে হবে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, আলোচনার সময় কোনও ঝড়গাঝাটি যেন না হয়। ভিন্ন প্রস্তাব থাকতেই পারে। মাথায় রাখতে হবে পোস্তাকে আমরা আরও ভালো করব। পোস্তায় বড় মার্কেটের প্রয়োজন। আপনারা যদি সহযোগিতা করেন, তা হলেই এ কাজ সম্ভব। সরকার আপনাদের পাশে আছে। আপনারা সবসময় আমাদের সাহায্য করেন। যখন আলুর দাম বাড়ে, তখন আপনাদের সঙ্গে আমরা আলোচনা করি।

তিনি আরও বলেন, তিন মাসের মধ্যে কমিটি করতে হবে। ট্রেডার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সদস্যদের উদ্দেশ্যে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, কাজ দ্রুত আরম্ভ করুন। সম্প্রতি অঙ্গ প্রতিস্থাপনের সময় যে গ্রিন করিডর তৈরি করা হয়েছিল, সে ব্যাপারে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী স্বাস্থ্যদপ্তরের কাজের প্রশংসা করেন। গোটা পোস্তা জুড়ে মোট ৪৫টি সি সি ক্যামেরা বসানো হচ্ছে।
