Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on August 29 said IT major Infosys will invest Rs 100 crore in the state and set up a 50-acre campus in Rajarhat, near Kolkata.

The Chief Minister clarified that Infosys will not get the SEZ status, as per the state’s policy; but will be eligible for other benefits. She said that this will create thousands of jobs in the state.

The IT sector in Bengal has witnessed a steady progress in the last six years. The State Government has operationalised 12 new IT parks out of the 18 planned; six of them are already fully occupied. Two greenfield electronics manufacturing clusters (EMC) are coming up in Naihati and Falta. The expenditure for IT parks grew by 1501% till 2016-17.

ইনফোসিস রাজ্যে লগ্নি করতে আসছে বলে জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। মঙ্গলবার নবান্নে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, বিশেষ অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলের (সেজ) তকমা ছাড়াই তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি সংস্থাটি রাজারহাটে ক্যাম্পাস তৈরি করতে রাজি হয়েছে। এ ব্যাপারে রাজ্যকে চিঠি পাঠিয়েছেন সংস্থার অন্যতম কর্তা রামনাথ কামাথ।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এ দিন বলেন, “সেজ দেওয়া হবে না। অন্য সব সুবিধা দেবে রাজ্য। ইনফোসিস জানিয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ দেশের অন্যতম সেরা শিল্পবান্ধব রাজ্য।“

প্রাথমিক ভাবে ৫০ একর জমিতে ১০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করবে বলে জানিয়েছে সংস্থাটি। রাজ্য সরকারের তরফে জানানো হয়েছে, তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি ইনসেনটিভ প্রকল্পে যে সব সুবিধা রয়েছে, তা ইনফোসিস।

গত ৬ বছরে আইটি সেক্টরের অভূতপূর্ব উন্নতি হয়েছে। রাজ্য সরকার ১৮টির মধ্যে ১২টি নতুন আইটি পার্ক চালু করেছে। নৈহাটি ও ফলতাতে আরও ২টি নতুন গ্রিনফিল্ড ইলেক্ট্রনিক্স ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং ক্লাস্টার তৈরি হচ্ছে। ২০১৬-১৭ অর্থবর্ষে আইটি পার্কের অধীনে ব্যয় বেড়েছে ১৫০১ শতাংশ।

The North 24 Parganas district administration is making special arrangements to make more women join the 100 Days’ Work Scheme and thus become self-reliant. From August 19, every woman joining 100 Days’ Work would be handed ‘hygiene kits’. This is part of a programme named ODF Plus.

North 24 Parganas was declared an ODF (open-defecation free) district on September 29, 2016.

The district administration reasons that since the views of women are crucial for health and financial issues of their families, giving them lessons on these issues would help in percolating the views down to every member of the family.

The hygiene kit, among other things, would contain information on health issues and on insect-borne diseases. From August 19, women engaged in 100 Days’ Work in the district would have access to temporary toilets too. Usage of proper toilets would help prevent the spread of pollution and diseases.

১০০ দিনের কাজের প্রকল্পে গ্রামীণ এলাকার মহিলাদের কর্মসংস্থান এবং সু-স্বাস্থ্যের লক্ষ্যে বিশেষ সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি নিচ্ছে উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা জেলা প্রশাসন। আগামী ১৯ আগস্ট জেলাজুড়ে যতজন মহিলা ১০০ দিনের প্রকল্পে কাজ করবেন, তাঁদের প্রত্যেককে একটি করে ‘হাইজিন-কিট’ দেওয়া হবে। প্রশাসনের কর্তাদের দাবি, যেহেতু পরিবারের স্বাস্থ্য ও আর্থিক বিষয়ে মহিলাদের ভূমিকা বিশেষ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, তাই তাঁদের উপরেই এবার বিশেষ নজর দেওয়া হচ্ছে। যাতে তাঁরা বাড়ির শিশু ও অন্যান্য সদস্যদের সচেতন করতে পারেন।

জেলা প্রশাসন সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, ২০১৬ সালের ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা জেলাকে ওডিএফ জেলা তথা নির্মল জেলা ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। বর্তমানে জেলাজুড়ে ওডিএফ প্লাস কর্মসূচি চলছে। সেই কর্মসূচিতেই ১০০ দিনের কাজের প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে গ্রামীণ মহিলাদের অংশগ্রহণ করানোর পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে। এই জেলার ২২টি ব্লকে ১০০ দিনের কাজের প্রকল্পে পুরুষ ও মহিলা মিলিয়ে প্রায় সাত লক্ষ জবকার্ড দেওয়া হয়েছে। তবে এই কর্মসূচিতে কেবলমাত্র মহিলাদেরই নেওয়া হবে।

উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার জেলাশাসক অন্তরা আচার্য বলেন, মহিলাদের কর্মসংস্থান ও স্বাস্থ্য বিধান—এই দু’টি কর্মসূচি একসঙ্গে হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে। আজ, শুক্রবার জেলার প্রতিটি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতে মহিলারা ১০০ দিনের এই প্রকল্পে কাজের জন্য নিজেদের নাম নথিভুক্ত করবেন। অর্থাৎ নিজের কাজ নিজেই চাইবেন। এই কর্মসূচির নাম দেওয়া হয়েছে, ‘রোজগার দিবস’। আগামী ১৯ আগস্ট প্রতিটি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতে তাঁরা ১০০ দিনের কাজের প্রকল্পে কাজ করবেন। এতে তাঁরা টাকার পাশাপাশি প্রত্যেকেই একটি করে হাইজিন-কিট পাবেন। সেখানে স্বাস্থ্য বিধান সম্পর্কিত বিভিন্ন প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিস থাকবে। সেই সঙ্গে তাঁদের স্বাস্থ্য এবং ওডিএফ সম্পর্কে সচেতন করা হবে। পতঙ্গ বাহিত রোগ সম্পর্কেও তাঁদের অবগত করা হবে। কারণ, পরিবারে মা হল শিশুদের প্রাথমিক শিক্ষক। তাই মায়েদের সচেতন করা জরুরি। তিনি বলেন, আমরা আরও একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ করছি। যেখানে মহিলারা ১০০ দিনের কাজের প্রকল্পে কাজ করবেন, সেখানে অস্থায়ী টয়লেটও তৈরি করা হবে। যাতে দূষণ ও রোগ না ছড়ায়। এটাও ওডিএফ প্লাসের একটি অভিনব সিদ্ধান্ত।

After the jute and handloom industries, it is now the turn of the beekeepers to benefit from the Bengal Government’s people-centric policies. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has, over the last six years, done a lot for promoting the traditional livelihood avenues in order to save and sustain the heritage of the state.

Apiculture is an age-old method of earning a livelihood in the state. Bees also play a vital role in conserving nature as they are the essential elements in the pollination and through it, the reproduction of plants.

Every year, the third Saturday of August is celebrated as World Honey Bee Day. To celebrate the occasion, the State Department of Food Processing Industries and Horticulture held an awareness programme about the crucial role honey bees play in maintaining the balance of nature, and also an exhibition.

The State Government has chalked up plans to make the women-based self-help groups and those involved in the 100 Days’ Work Scheme take to apiculture as a viable source of income. The government is also taking steps to stop the sale of fake honey.

Bengal is the second-highest honey-producing state in the country. Opportunities exist for the state to export honey and products made from honey.

 

মৌ -পালনের নয়া উদ্যোগ সরকারের

পাট ,তাঁত শিল্পের পর এবার রাজ্যে মৌ -পালনের বিষয়ে নয়া উদ্যোগ নিল রাজ্য সরকার। মানবজাতি রক্ষার্থে একান্ত প্রয়োজনীয় মৌমাছি সংরক্ষণ।

প্রতি বছর আগেস্টর তৃতীয় সপ্তাহের শনিবার পালিত হয় ‘ বিশ্ব মৌমাছি দিবস ‘। তাই এই দিনটি উপলক্ষে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্প এবং উদ্যান পালন দফতরের উদ্যোগে একটি সচেতনতামূলক অনুষ্ঠান ও প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করা হয়। মূলত , মৌমাছি সংরক্ষনের মাধ্যমে মানবজাতির ওপর প্রভাব সম্পর্কে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিই ছিল এই অনুষ্ঠানের মুল উদ্দেশ্য।
এইদিন অনুষ্ঠানে গ্রামীণ উন্নয়ন ও পঞ্চায়েত মন্ত্রী সুব্রত মুখোপাধ্যায় রাজ্যে স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর মহিলাদের ও ১০০ দিনের কর্মীদের মৌপালনের উদ্যোগে সামিল করার প্রস্তাব রাখেন। এছাড়াও তিনি জানান ‘ মৌচাষ বৃদ্ধি ও তার সংরক্ষণ নিঃসন্দেহে একটি সচেতনমূলক কাজ ।

আমাদের রাজ্যে মধু চাষের সুযোগ অনেক বেশি। মৌচাক থেকে শুধু মধু সংগ্রহই নয় উৎকৃষ্ট মানের শাক -সবজি ও ফল পাওয়ার জন্য পরাগ সংযোগেও মুখ্য ভূমিকা পালন করে মৌমাছি। তবে অনেক সময় দেখা যায় কৃষকরা মৌমাছির বিষয়ে ভুল ধারণার বর্শবর্তী হয়ে পরাগ সংযোগে বাধা সৃষ্টি করে। তবে এই ধারণা থেকে বেরিয়ে আসার জন্যই বিভিন্ন জেলা ও ব্লক স্তরে সচেতনতা দিবস ,প্রশিক্ষণ শিবির ও সমীক্ষার ব্যবস্থা করা হবে।

মধু উৎপাদনে দেশে দ্বিতীয় এই রাজ্য। মধু ছাড়াও মধুজাত দ্রব্য থেকে উৎপাদিত দ্রব্য থেকে রফতানির সুযোগ আছেই এই রাজ্য।

The sports infrastructure in Bengal during the last six years, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has improved significantly.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports has undertaken a lot of programmes on the education, health, employment and holistic mental and physical development of students and the youth.

 
Development of playgrounds: Financial assistance given to 331 institutions/ organisations

Setting up of multi-gyms: Financial assistance given to 2,244 institutions / organisations

Construction of mini indoor games facilities: Financial assistance given to 635 institutions/ organisations

Tournaments: Organisation of Annual Youth Festivals and Jangalmahal Cup, and financial assistance to police authorities for conducting the Sunderban Cup and Himal-Tarai Dooars Sports Festival.

Mountaineering and adventure sports: Encouraging the youth to take up mountaineering and adventure sports activities under the aegis of the West Bengal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Foundation (WBMASF). During the last six years, 18 mountaineers from the state have conquered Mt Everest (compare this to only 4 from 1947 to May 2011). Stringent rules have been framed to select the climbers for Mt Everest and other 8000 metres above peaks. Through the department, rock climbing courses, coastal trekking, mountaineering expeditions, mountaineering courses at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling, assistance to mountaineering clubs, etc. are organised. Radhanath Sikdar and Tenzing Norgay Adventure Awards and Chhanda Gayen Bravery Award have been introduced, and are given every year.

Bangla Yuba Kendra: To create a healthy socio-cultural ambience, a three-tier organisation (block-level, district-level and state-level) named Bangla Yuba Kendra has been set up to coordinate the different programmes of this department.

Budgetary allocation: The Plan Expenditure has increased by multiple times in the last six years – from Rs 5.52 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 185.3 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Youth Services and from Rs 29.29 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 237.21 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Sports.

Building of stadiums and sports complexes: Stadiums in Nayagram (Jhargram district), Salboni (Paschim Medinipur district), Memari and Bhatar (Purba Bardhaman district), Onda (Bankura district), Islampur (Uttar Dinajpur) and Uluberia (Howrah district), Archery Academy in Jhargram district, swimming pools in Baruipur and Canning (South 24 Parganas district), sports academy (including stadium) in Khatra (Bankura district), sports complexes (including stadiums) in Barrackpore and Naihati (North 24 Parganas district), and sports complex at Tala Park in Kolkata.

Renovation and modernisation of sports infrastructure: Flood lighting and renovation of the Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting grounds in Kolkata, flood lighting of Kanchenjungha Stadium in Siliguri, renovation of Lebong Stadium in Darjeeling, the indoor stadium at Rajbati Stadium Complex in Cooch Behar, Howrah Municipal Corporation Stadium, Eastern Ground in Chinsura, the swimming pool in Barijhati (both in Hooghly district) and Jhargram Stadium, upgradation and renovations of Bolpur and Suri Stadiums (Birbhum district), Ranaghat, Shantipur, Krishnagar,Kalyani and Nabadwip Stadiums (Nadia district), and Spandan Sports Ground at Kalna Aghorenath Park Stadium (Purba Bardhaman), construction of Balurghat Indoor Sports Complex (Dakshin Dinajpur district), construction and renovation of stadiums in Diamond Harbour Sports Complex and Kultali Dr BR Ambedkar College (South 24 Parganas district), renovation of Aurobindo Stadium (Purba Medinipur district), construction of Rakhal Memorial Sports Complex (Purba Medinipur district) and indoor stadium and sports hostel in Purulia and Kashipore Stadium (Purulia district), and the development of DSA Stadium, Brindabani Park and Satya Chowdhuri Indoor Stadium in Malda.

Management and monitoring of sporting activities: Management and monitoring of sporting activities in the districts to achieve the goals of district and sub-divisional sports councils.

Awards: Khel Samman to 89 present sportspersons, Banglar Gourab awards to 114 retired sportspersons, Kriraguru Sammans to 34 eminent coaches and Lifetime Achievement Awards to eight eminent sports personalities.

FIFA Under-17 World Cup: Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) has been upgraded and beautified for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup matches to be held there.

 

 

ছ’বছরে ক্রীড়াক্ষেত্রে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নতি বাংলার

২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন এসেছে বাংলার ক্রীড়ার চিত্রপটে। শুধু খেলোয়াড়দের সম্বর্ধনা দেওয়া নয়, গড়ে উঠছে খেলোয়াড় তৈরি হবার পরিকাঠামো। খুলে গেছে আরও নতুন খেলার দিক।

জেলার খেলাধুলোর পরিচালন ও নজরদারিতে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর গুরুত্ব দিয়েছে এবং লক্ষ্য অর্জনে জেলা ও মহকুমা স্পোর্টস কাউন্সিলগুলিকে পুনর্গঠন ও কার্যকরী করে তুলেছে।

অতীত এবং বর্তমান কৃতী ক্রীড়া ব্যাক্তিত্বদের কৃতিত্ব অর্জনের স্বীকৃতি জানানো রাজ্যের যুব কল্যাণ এবং এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগের পরিকল্পনায় রয়েছে। ‘খেল সম্মান’ দ্বারা ৮৯ জন বর্তমান খেলোয়াড়, ‘বাংলার গৌরব’ সম্মানে ১১৪ জন অতীত খেলোয়াড়, ‘ক্রীড়াগুরু’ সম্মানে ৩৪ জন প্রখ্যাত কোচ এবং ‘লাইফটাইম অ্যাচিভমেন্ট অ্যাওয়ার্ডে’ ৮ জন প্রখ্যাত ব্যাক্তিত্বকে এই সময়কালের ভিতর সম্মাননা জ্ঞাপন করা হয়েছে।

রাজ্যের ৮৩৬৩ ক্লাবকে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগ খেলাধুলা এবং স্থায়ী সম্পদের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে। রাজ্য পর্যায়ের স্পোর্টস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনগুলিকে প্রত্যেক খেলাধুলোর জন্যও ৫লক্ষ টাকা হারে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর সুন্দরবন কাপ, হিমাল-তরাই ডুয়ার্স ক্রীড়া উৎসব আয়োজনের জন্যও পুলিশ কর্তৃপক্ষকে আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে.

এই বছরে ফিফা অনূর্ধ্ব-১৭ বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজিত হবে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে। তাই, আন্তর্জাতিক মানের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় রেখে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গন এবং তার সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার উন্নয়ন ও সৌন্দর্যায়ণ হয়েছে। আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতা পর্যায়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গতি রেখে সম্পূর্ণ শ্রীবৃদ্ধিসাধন, খেলার মাঠ, আলোর ব্যবস্থা, অভ্যাসের জায়গা সহায়ক সুবিধার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।

আর্থিক কর্মসম্পাদন যা ২০১০-১১ সালে ছিল ২৯.২৯ কোটি টাকা, তা আজ ২০১৬-১৭ সালে বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩৭.২১ কোটি টাকা।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today held a meeting with political parties from the Hills to end the ongoing impasse in the Darjeeling Hills and restore normalcy in the region.

Four major political parties (GJM, JAP, GNLF and TMC) were present at the meeting.

 

Here is what the Chief Minister said after the meeting:

Today’s meeting was positive and cordial. A dialogue process has been initiated to restore normalcy in the Hills and bring back peace in the region.

Dialogue is a continuous process. Regular interaction will continue. We will meet again on September 12 in Uttarkanya at 3 PM.

We are all in favour of restoring peace and normalcy in the Hills. We requested them (the Hill parties) to withdraw the bandh, as common people are suffering. Tea, tourism, transport sectors have been hampered.

Let them take their time. They have their own political considerations. Government is bound by its constitutional mandate. But the process of dialogue should continue.

We thank the representatives of all the Hill parties who were present today. We want peace and progress in the Hills.

 

 

পাহাড়ের স্বাভাবিক পরিস্থিতি ফিরিয়ে আনতে আলোচনা প্রক্রিয়া চলবে: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

 

পাহাড়ে শান্তি শৃঙ্খলা ফিরিয়ে আনার জন্য বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দলগুলির প্রতিনিধিদের সঙ্গে আজ নবান্নে বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

পাহাড়ের ৪ টি বড় রাজনৈতিক দল (GJM, JAP, GNLF and TMC) আজকের এই বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিল।

 

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

আজকের এই বৈঠক ইতিবাচক হয়েছে। আজকের এই বৈঠকের মাধ্যমে একটি আলোচনা প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়েছে। পাহাড়ের সমস্যার সমাধান করতে এবং স্বাভাবিক পরিস্থিতি ফিরিয়ে আনতে আজকের এই বৈঠক।

এখন থেকে নিয়মিত আলোচনা হবে। আগামী ১২ সেপ্টেম্বর বেলা ৩ টেয় উত্তরকন্যায় বৈঠক হবে।

আমারা চাই পাহাড়ে শান্তি ফিরে আসুক, সমস্যার সমাধান হোক। বনধ তুলে নেওয়ার জন্য আমরা ওদের (পাহাড়ের দলগুলিকে) অনুরোধ করেছি। চা বাগান বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে; পর্যটন, পরিবহণ সব কিছুর ক্ষতি হচ্ছে।

পাহাড় নিয়ে আলোচনা শুরু হল, বৈঠক হয়েছে মানেই আলোচনার পথ এগিয়েছে। এবার ওদের (পাহাড়ের দলগুলি) নিজেদের আলোচনা করতে দিন, ওদের কিছু সেট আপ রয়েছে। তবে নিয়মিত আলোচনা হবে।

পাহাড়ের সব রাজনৈতিক দলের প্রতিনিধিদের আমার ধন্যবাদ। পাহাড়ের ভাই-বোন ভালো থাকুক, শান্তিতে থাকুক। পাহাড়ের উন্নয়ন হোক।

The health indicators for children in Bengal are improving rapidly under the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government, according to information gathered from the State Health Ministry. The Chief Minister also holds the health portfolio.

The infant mortality rate (the number of infants dying per thousand births) has gone down to 26, from 33 in 2011. The percentage of institutional delivery has risen from 65 per cent to a huge 92 per cent.

These improvements have been the result of a massive thrust on the health infrastructural front. The State Government has set up 307 sick newborn stabilisation units (SNSU), the number of which was zero before the Trinamool Congress Government came to power. Another big improvement has been in the number of sick newborn care units (SNCU), which has increased from six to 67 under the Trinamool Congress Government.

Then, in some remote places, Waiting Huts have been built for mothers to deliver children in. These huts are equipped with proper equipment along with housing doctors and nurses on a permanent basis.

Mother and Child Hubs (MCH) have come up in many hospitals. Plans for 16 more are in the pipeline. Facilities for treatment of children are available in 561 hospitals.

রাজ্যে শিশুমৃত্যুর হার ক্রমশ কমছে। এক বিধায়কের প্রশ্নের জবাবে স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী এদিন বিধানসভায় একথা জানান।

২০১১ সালে এই সংখ্যা ছিল ৩৩। বর্তমানে তা কমে হয়েছে ২৬। প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক প্রসবের হার ৬৫ শতাংশথেকে বেড়ে হয়েছে ৯২ শতাংশ। এছাড়াও ৩০৭টি সিক নিউ বর্ন স্টেবিলাইজেশন ইউনিট তৈরি করা হয়েছে। যা ২০১১ সালের আগে একটিও ছিল না।

সিক নিউ বর্ন কেয়ার ইউনিট ছ’টি থেকে বাড়িয়ে করা হয়েছে ৬৭টি। মা ও নবজাতকের জন্য ওয়েটিং হাব তৈরি করা হয়েছে। ১৬টি মাদার চাইল্ড হাব তৈরিরও পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে।

আর এক বিধায়কের প্রশ্নের জবাবে স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, ৫৬১টি হাসপাতালে শিশু চিকিৎসা হয়। শুধুমাত্র শিশুদের চিকিৎসার জন্য রয়েছে বিসি রায় হাসপাতাল।

Since 2011, when the Trinamool Congress Government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came to power, the production of pulses and oil seeds has increased significantly. This was announced by the Agriculture Minister recently. He gave the following data.

In 2010-11, the production of oil seeds was 1.76 lakh metric tonnes, which touched 3.36 lakh metric tonnes in 2016-17; the production numbers for oil seeds were 7.03 lakh metric tonnes and 9.12 lakh metric tonnes, metric tonnes respectively. As a result of this huge increase, in three to four years, the State Government would not have to import any pulses.

The area under pulse production has increased from 1.97 lakh hectares in 2010-11 to 3.5 lakh hectares in 2016-17. The area under oil seed production has also witnessed a significant increase, from 6.7 lakh hectares to 9.12 lakh hectares.

Currently, the State Government holds 86 crore 84 lakh 113 thousand hectares of land, of which 15,923 hectares in under cultivation.

Bengal is number one in rice production in the country at present. In 2016-17, 1 crore 60 lakh 70 thousand metric tonnes were produced.

 

ডাল ও তৈলবীজ উৎপাদন উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে বেড়েছে বাংলায়

২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস রাজ্যের শাসনভার গ্রহণ করার পর থেকে এ রাজ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে বেড়েছে ডাল ও তৈলবীজ উৎপাদন।

২০১০-১১ তে ডালের উৎপাদন হয়েছিল ১.৭৬ লক্ষ মেট্রিক টন, যা ২০১৬-১৭ তে বেড়ে হয়েছে ৩.৩৬ লক্ষ মেট্রিক টন।পাশাপাশি তৈল বীজের উৎপাদন ২০১৬-১৭ তে হয়েছে ৯.১২ লক্ষ মেট্রিক টন যা ২০১০-১১ তে ছিল ৭.০৩ লক্ষ মেট্রিক টন।

আগামী ৩ থেকে ৪ বছরের মধ্যেই রাজ্যকে আর কোনও ডাল আমদানি করতে হবে না। ২০১০-১১ সালে যেখানে ১.৯৭ লক্ষ হেক্টর জমিতে ডাল উৎপাদন করা হত, সেই চাষের জমি ২০১৬-১৭ সালে বাড়িয়ে ৩.৫ লক্ষ হেক্টর করা হয়েছে। ২০১০-১১ সাল পর্যন্ত তৈল বীজ উৎপাদন করা হত ৬.৭ লক্ষ হেক্টর জমিতে যা ২০১৬-১৭ সালে করা হয় ৯.১২ লক্ষ হেক্টর জমিতে।

এই মুহূর্তে রাজ্যে ৮৬,৮৪,১১৩ হেক্টর জমি আছে যার মধ্যে ১৫,৯২৩ হেক্টর জমিকে চাষের জমিতে রুপান্তরিত করা যায়। ধান উৎপাদনে এই মুহূর্তে দেশের মধ্যে প্রথম বাংলা। ২০১৬-১৭ সালে ধানের উৎপাদন হয়েছে রাজ্যে ১ কোটি ৬০ লক্ষ ৭০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন।

A rally to commemorate the foundation day of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad was held at Mayo Road in Kolkata today. Like every year, Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee addressed the students on the occasion.

Mamata Banerjee said youths and students are the future of the country and they have to lead the fight for ‘poriborton’ (change) at Centre in 2019. She also advised them to be active on social media to counter the ‘fake narrative’ of BJP.

 

Highlights of Mamata Banerjee’s speech:

The students are the future of the country. You will be the architects of the nation’s future. You will shape the society. Students must focus on building bonds with people. Leaders of the future will emerge from among the student community.

Becoming a political activist does not make anyone bad. My political career started as a student activist.

Life is not just about education. You have to become good human beings. Swami Vivekananda had said development of character is the most important thing in life.

28 August is a historic day for us. We renew our pledge today to serve the people, to live up to the ideals we fight for.

Students must use social media wisely. Some political parties have turned Facebook into ‘Fakebook’ using money power.

We have struggled for 34 years against the Left. And now the Leftists have bowed down before the Right-Wing. Ram had fought Ravan, not Rahim. ‘Fake’ Ram has come from Delhi and ‘Bam’ (Left) have joined them.

Trinamool-led Bengal Government took a stand in favour of right to privacy and the Supreme Court gave a verdict in favour of that right.

From birth to death, the Centre wants to impose Aadhaar on everything. They will have access to your personal details – what you say, what you do, where you go, what you eat – by linking Aadhaar with phone. What will happen if the data is hacked? What about individual right to privacy?

Some leaders give only bhashan not ration. Where is the achhe din? People cannot even have sweets, thanks to the burden of taxes. We are doing all the work – from building toilets to digitisation – and they are taking all the credit.

The youth and students will have to bring ‘poriborton’ in 2019. You will have to make ‘New India’ by infusing fresh blood.

They have started ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ project and the budget for entire country is Rs 100 crore. That means roughly Rs 2.5 crore per State. What is the use? In Bengal, we have ‘Kanyashree’ scheme and have allotted Rs 5000 crore for it.

They are trying to incite violence between Hindus and Muslims in Bengal over Durga Puja. Do not fall prey to their incitement. In our culture, bishorjon never happens on Ekadoshi. Why is the BJP so insistent on having bishorjon on that day? They could not handle the situation in Panchkula. If Ganapati Visarjan and Muharram fall on the same day, can they manage? Let them set their own house in order. Manage Panchkula and Uttar Pradesh first.

In Panchkula, they could not handle one incident. More than 30 people lost their lives. If some incident happens in BJP-ruled State, Army is immediately called in. But no help is offered to non-BJP States.

Trinamool is ‘naram-garam’. In the service of people, we are ‘naram’ but if someone crosses our path, we are ‘garam’.

Our slogan is ‘BJP Hatao, Desh Bachao’. Bengal will show the way.

 

২০১৯ এর লড়াই পরিবর্তন নিয়ে আসুকঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় তৃণমূলের ছাত্র পরিষদের সভায়

আজ তৃণমূলের ছাত্র পরিষদের প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস। প্রতি বছরের মত এ বছরও গান্ধীমূর্তির সামনেও সমাবেশ অনুষ্ঠিত হল। অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান বক্তা ছিলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এদিন তিনি বলেন ছাত্ররাই দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ। ২০১৯ এর লড়াই সারা দেশে পরিবর্তন নিয়ে আসবে।

বিজেপি সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় যে কুৎসা ছড়াচ্ছে, তার বিরুদ্ধে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের আরও সরব হওয়ার পরামর্শ দেন তিনি।

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু বিষয়ঃ

ছাত্ররাই আমাদের দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ। সবুজের দল কোন বাধা মানে না। এরাই দেশ গড়বে, সমাজ গড়বে। শিক্ষক – ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এই সুদৃঢ় বন্ধন আরও সংগঠিত করতে হবে।

রাজনীতি করলে কেউ খারাপ হয় না। আমার রাজনৈতিক কেরিয়ার ছাত্রজীবন থেকেই শুরু।

শুধু পড়াশোনা করার নাম জীবন নয়। আমরা চাই ছাত্ররা ভালোভাবে সমাজসেবা করুক, ভালো মানুষ হোক, প্রকৃত মানুষ হোক। স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ বলেছিলেন, ‘আমি চাই উন্নততর মানুষ’।

২৮ আগস্ট আমাদের কাছে একটি ঐতিহাসিক দিন। এটি ভবিষ্যৎকে পাথেয় করে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার দিন, শপথ নেওয়ার দিন, অঙ্গীকার করার দিন, মানুষকে সঙ্গবদ্ধ  করা দিন।

ছাত্রছাত্রীরাই নিশ্চয়ই সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া ব্যবহার করে। কোন কোন রাজনৈতিক দল টাকার জোরে ফেসবুককে ফেকবুকে পরিণত করছে। ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এই ব্যাপারে আরও সতর্ক হতে হবে।

৩৪ বছর ধরে আমরা সিপিএমএর বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করেছি। এখন ওরা এখন দক্ষিণপন্থী দলের কাছে মাথা নত করছে। রাম রাবণের সাথে যুদ্ধ করেছিলেন, রহিমের সাথে নয়। দিল্লি থেকে এসেছে ‘নকল’ রাম, আর তার সাথে জুটেছে বাম।

আজ মানুষের privacy কেড়ে নেওয়া হচ্ছে। আমরা মাননীয় সুপ্রিম কোর্টের কাছে কৃতজ্ঞ যে তারা বলে দিয়েছিলেন – গোপনীয়তা মানুষের মৌলিক অধিকার। তৃণমূল প্রথম stand নিয়েছিল।

একটা বাচ্চার জন্ম হলেই আধার কার্ড বাধ্যতামূলক। আরে, বাচ্চাদের চোখ matured হতে সময় লাগে।  মূর্খের মত সব বলে দিচ্ছে। আপনার সব personal details এর access থাকবে ওদের কাছে। কি বলছেন, কি করছেন, কোথায় যাচ্ছেন, কি খাচ্ছেন – সব জানা যাবে মোবাইল ও আধার লিঙ্ক করলে। মানুষের কোন নিরাপত্তা নেই। যদি সব তথ্য হ্যাক হয়ে যায় তখন কি হবে?

মোহাব্বাত কাম সে হোতা হ্যায়, ভাষনো শে নেহি। কোথায় গেল আচ্ছে দিন? বলছে মিষ্টি খাওয়া বাদ দিন, সিঙ্গারা খাওয়া বাদ দিন, চাকরি বাদ দিন, বেকার বাড়িয়ে দিন, হিন্দু মুসলমান ভাগ করে দিন, সব্বাইকে বাদ দিন। আমরা করলাম ডিজিটাল, রাস্তা পরিষ্কার, বাথরুম নির্মাণ আর ভাষন বাজি দিচ্ছে ওরা।

 ২০১৯ এর লড়াই পরিবর্তন নিয়ে আসুক ভারতবর্ষের বুকে, বাংলা থেকেই ডাক দিতে হবে পুরো ইন্ডিয়াতে পরিবর্তন দরকার আছে। স্টুডেন্ট ও ইউথ জেনারেশন নিউ ব্লাড দিয়ে নিউ ইন্ডিয়া গঠন করবে।

 বলছে বেটি বাঁচাও বেটি পড়াও, এই প্রজেক্ট পুরো দেশে ১০০ কোটি টাকার, আড়াই কোটি করেও একটা রাজ্যের জন্য হবে না।আমাদের কন্যাশ্রী প্রজেক্ট ৫,০০০ কোটি টাকা খরচ করেছি শুধু বাংলায়।

 রাম রহিমের নামে আমাদের এখানে রোজ দাঙ্গা লাগানোর চেষ্টা করে। গণপতি পুজোর বিসর্জন ও মহরম একসঙ্গে পড়লে সামলাতে পারবে তো? পেরেছে কোনোদিনও? একাদশীর দিন আমরা মাকে বিসর্জন দিই? অমাবস্যার দিন দিই? না। কোনও কোনও জেলায় গিয়ে বিজেপির একটা পরিকল্পনা হয়েছে ধর্মীয় সুড়সুড়ি দিয়ে দাঙ্গা লাগানোর।

 আগে পঞ্চকুলা সামলাও তারপর বাংলার দিকে তাকাও, আগে উত্তরপ্রদেশ সামলাও তার পর বাংলার দিকে তাকাও, আগে মধ্যপ্রদেশে কৃষক হত্যা সামলাও তার পর বাংলার দিকে তাকাও।

 একটা রামরহিমকে ঠেকাতে গিয়ে ৩০ জনের ওপর মানুষ মোড়ে গেল একদিনে, কত মানুষ আহত। দার্জিলিঙের জন্যও ৪ ব্যাটেলিয়ান সেনা চেয়েছিলাম,  কোর্টের অর্ডারের পরে পেয়েছি। আর হরিয়ানা পেয়েছে ৪০ ব্যাটেলিয়ান। বিজেপির রাজ্য হলে একরকম, অন্য রাজ্য হলে আরেকরকম।

 তৃণমূল কখনও নরম, কখনও গরম, যখন জনগণের জন্যও প্রয়োজন, তৃণমূল মানবিক, আর কেউ যদি মনে করে দলটাকে শেষ করে দেব, তাকে তৃণমূল কিন্তু রুখে দাঁড়ায়, প্রতিবাদ করে, গর্জন করে।

 বাংলায় স্লোগান উঠবে, “বিজেপি হাটাও, দেশ বাঁচাও”। বাংলাই আগামী দিনে পথ দেখাবে।

The online issuance of fire license by the Bengal Government has helped industrialists in a big way, according to the Fire and Environment Department.

This is a part of the State Government’s policy to bring about ease in doing business, as a part of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s grand plans to bring more and more industries to the state.

The online issuance of fire license will not only bring down the time period required for getting such a license but will also, for those setting up industrial units, remove the associated hassles and hardships.

The Bengal Government is not only investing adequate funds in fire prevention but is also in the process of devising a mechanism to make sure a foolproof fire safety system is in place and also that it is being regularly checked.

The government has bought four hydraulic ladders, the tallest among them being 66 metres high.

It is being seen that people are whole-heartedly adopting a culture of fire safety in the state – becoming more safety-compliant and adhering to safety rules more than ever before.

অনলাইনে ফায়ার লাইসেন্সে উপকৃত হচ্ছে ব্যাবসায়ীরা

অনলাইনে ফায়ার লাইসেন্স পাওয়ার পরিষেবা চালু করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। এর ফলে, রাজ্যে ব্যবসা করতে সুবিধা (ease of doing business) হয়েছে বলে খবর দমকল বিভাগ সূত্রে।

অনলাইনে ফায়ার লাইসেন্স পাওয়ার ফলে লাইসেন্স পেতে কম সময় লাগছে; এতে ব্যবসা স্থাপনে যেমন সুবিধা হচ্ছে, অন্যান্য প্রক্রিয়াগত বিলম্বও অনেকটা লাঘব হচ্ছে।

গত ছয় বছরে রাজ্যের অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ব্যবস্থাকে ঢেলে সাজিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। তৈরী করা হয়েছে পরিকাঠামো। যেহেতু শহরে বহুতলের সংখ্যা বেড়ে চলছে, সরকার ৪টি হাইড্রোলিক সিঁড়ি কিনেছে; সব থেকে উঁচু সিঁড়ি’টির উচ্চতা ৬৬ মিটার। অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ব্যবস্থা ঠিক আছে কিনা সেটা নিয়মিত পরীক্ষণও করা হয়।

পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের পাশাপাশি মানুষের মধ্যে অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ব্যবস্থা সম্বন্ধে সচেতনতা সৃষ্টিতেও নজর দিচ্ছে সরকার।

The region of Bardhaman (now divided into the districts of Purba and Paschim Bardhaman) is known as the Rice Bowl of Bengal; and what better recognition of that than the Gobindobhog rice, a speciality of the district, getting the much-coveted Geographical Information (GI) status. The State Government had applied for the status on August 24, 2015.

As a result of getting the GI tag, as the certification is also called, rice from other regions or rice of other varieties cannot be branded as ‘gobindobhog’. Hence, the marketability of the rice would be strengthened, for the local, national and international markets.

This variety of rice is primarily cultivated in Purba Bardhaman district, in the southern basin of the Damodar River in the Raina 1, Raina 2 and Khandaghosh blocks. Gobindobhog was cultivated in an area of 35 hectares last year, and of this, 20 hectares were spread over an area of Raina 1 and Raina 2 blocks.

The south Damodar belt has been the traditional area of gobindobhog rice cultivation. The rice has several advantages. It is cultivated late, hence not much affected by rains. It is less prone to pests. The productivity per area is high, and also the price the cultivators get.

সীতাভোগ-মিহিদানার পর জিআই পেল বর্ধমানের গোবিন্দভোগ ধান

শস্যগোলা বলে পরিচিত বর্ধমান জেলা। সেই জেলায় এবার সীতাভোগ-মিহিদানার পর জিআই স্বীকৃতি পেল বর্ধমানের গোবিন্দভোগ ধান। ২০১৫ সালে রাজ্য সরকার গোবিন্দভোগ ধানের জিআই রেজিস্ট্রেশনের জন্য আবেদন করেছিলেন।

এই গোবিন্দভোগ ধান চাষ মূলত বর্ধমান জেলার দক্ষিণ দামোদর এলাকার রায়না এক ও দুই ব্লকে ও খণ্ডঘোষে বেশী হয়ে থাকে। পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলায় এই ধান চাষের ওপর গুরুত্ব দিচ্ছে কৃষি দপ্তর।

দক্ষিণ দামোদর এলাকার মাটি গোবিন্দভোগ চাষের প্রতি উপযুক্ত। এই ধানের চাষ দেরিতে শুরু হয়। রোগপোকার উপদ্রপ কম হয়।ফলে বর্ষাকালে এইসব এলাকায় বন্যার মত পরিস্থিতির সৃষ্টি হলেও সেইভাবে ধানের ক্ষতি হয় না। অন্য ধানের তুলনায় এই গোবিন্দভোগ ধানের ফলন বিঘে প্রতি ভালো হয়।
