West Bengal number one state in rice production
The Economic Survey 2015-16 released recently by the Union Government has painted a bright picture for West Bengal. It is one of the best-performing States in many respects.
The State has seen the least rise in the price of goods, in general, in India in the last one year. The price inflation is less than 3%.
West Bengal is the largest rice-producer in the country, with Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh following it.
On many other aspects, like neonatal death, average life span, primary schools, etc., the State is the best or among the best, proving that the five years of Trinamool Government rule in West Bengal has been all about development and empowerment of the people.

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের ২০১৫-১৬ অর্থনৈতিক সমীক্ষা অনুযায়ী পশ্চিমবঙ্গ আর্থ-সামাজিক উন্নয়নের বহু ক্ষেত্রে অন্য রাজ্যগুলির থেকে অনেক এগিয়ে।
অর্থনৈতিক সমীক্ষা অনুযায়ী চলতি আর্থিক বছরে গোটা দেশের মধ্যে সবথেকে কম মূল্যবৃদ্ধি হয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে। পরিসংখ্যান প্রকাশ করে দেখানো হয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুদ্রাস্ফীতির হার এই বছর ৩ শতাংশেরও নীচে নেমে এসেছে, যা গোটা দেশে রেকর্ড।
দেশের ধান উ९পাদনকারী তিনটি প্রধান রাজ্যের (পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, উত্তরপ্রদেশ এবং অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ) মধ্যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উৎপাদন সবথেকে বেশি। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রয়েছে শীর্ষ স্থানে।
অর্থনৈতিক সমীক্ষায় ন্যাশনাল ফ্যামিলি হেলথ সার্ভের একটি সমীক্ষা রিপোর্টের ভিত্তিতে বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের সদ্যোজাত শিশু স্বাস্থ্যের একটি বিস্তারিত পরিসংখ্যান উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। সেই বিবরণে বলা হয়েছে, ১২ মাস থেকে ২৩ মাস বয়সী শিশুদের সম্পূর্ণ প্রতিষেধক কর্মসূচি সম্পন্ন করার নিরিখে প্রথম সারিতে রয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ।
গ্রামীণ এলাকার শিশুদের প্রতিষেধক প্রদান কর্মসূচিতে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ৮৭ শতাংশ কর্মসূচি সমাপ্ত করেছে। এছাড়া জন্মকালীন শিশুমৃত্যুর হার, প্রাথমিক স্কুল নির্মাণ, সেচসেবিত এলাকা সম্প্রসারণে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ অনেক এগিয়ে।
