WB Govt sets up Kanyashree Clubs and creates career guidance programme
After the stupendous success of the Kanyashree Scheme for the girl child, conceived by West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee, the State Government has now taken the idea forward and created Kanyashree Clubs in schools.
The members of a club are the Kanyashree recipients of that school. Already, six schools in East Medinipur district have set up such clubs.
Along with the clubs, the State Government is also starting a special career guidance programme for the benefit of Kanyashree recipients. Among other things, the recipients would be guided on how to join the police.
In the almost two-and-a-half years of its existence, the Kanyashree Scheme has created a massive wave of awareness among girl children in West Bengal on the need for a proper education. Education ensures that these children have the wherewithal to fight social evils like child marriage and trafficking in women.
কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব তৈরি করছে রাজ্য সরকার
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ‘কন্যাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পের অসামান্য সাফল্যের পর রাজ্য সরকারের নতুন উদ্যোগ বিদ্যালয় গুলিতে কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব তৈরি করা।
কন্যাশ্রী সুবিধাপ্রাপ্ত ছাত্রীদের নিয়ে বিদ্যালয়গুলিতে কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। ইতিমধ্যেই পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার ৬টি বিদ্যালয়ে কন্যাশ্রী ক্লাব গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
রাজ্য সরকার কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পে বিদ্যালয়গুলিতে কেরিয়ার গাইডেন্স প্রোগ্রামও শুরু হতে চলেছে। এই কেরিয়ার গাইডেন্সের মাধ্যমে কন্যাশ্রী সুবিধাপ্রাপ্ত ছাত্রীদের পুলিশে নিয়োগের বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বাড়ানো হবে।
বিগত আড়াই বছরে কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্প রাজ্যের মেয়েদের মধ্যে শিক্ষার প্রসারে সফল হয়েছে। শিক্ষার মাধ্যমে মেয়েরা স্বাবলম্বী হয়েছে এবং নারী পাচার, শিশুবিবাহের মত সামাজিক কুব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াতে পারছে।
