The 2017 Banga Samman awards ceremony was held at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata today. The evening was lit up by colourful cultural programmes, including folk songs and dances, and Rabindrasangeet.

Two categories of awards are presented as part of Banga Samman – Banga Bhushan and Banga Bibhushan. They were given away by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

These awards, which are the highest civilian awards of the State, were instituted in 2011, after Mamata Banerjee came to power. Celebrated artistes, sportspersons, film-makers and intellectuals have been honoured with these awards in the past.

The recipients of Banga Bibhushan this year are YC Deveshwar, Dr Dhiman Ganguly, Dr Arun Prasad Mukherjee, Soumitra Chatterjee and Nirendranath Chakraborty. The recipients of Banga Bhushan are Khidmat Fakir, Chapal Bhaduri, Lakshman Das Baul, Rezwana Chowdhury Bonya, Dr Abhijit Chowdhury.

 

The salient points of the Chief Minister’s speech are:

  • We are honoured to have felicitated poet Nirendranath Chakraborty. He is our inspiration.
  • Shri YC Deveshwar is a celebrated industrialist. Dr Dhiman Ganguly is a venerated doctor.

  • Our Maa-Mati-Manush Government took oath on May 20, 2011. We celebrate this day every year by giving away the Banga Samman awards.
  • Bengal is a powerhouse of talent. Bengal shows the way to the world.
  • Bengal is the epicentre of culture, harmony and progress.
  • We are proud that we were born in Bengal. As long as we live, we will work for our motherland.

‘বঙ্গ সম্মাননা’ প্রদান করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

প্রতিবারের মতো এবছরও ‘বঙ্গ সম্মাননা’ প্রদান করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী । অনুষ্ঠানটি আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে পরিবেশনা করা হল। পুরস্কার প্রদানের পাশাপাশি বিশিষ্ট শিল্পীরা পরিবেশন করলেন সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই রাজ্যের গুণী মানুষজনদের সম্মানিত করতে ‘বঙ্গ সম্মাননা’ শুরু করেন। নানা কৃতি মানুষজনকে ‘বঙ্গ বিভূষণ’ ও ‘বঙ্গ ভূষণ’ সম্মাননায় ভূষিত করা হয়।

এবছরের বঙ্গ বিভূষণ পুরস্কারের প্রাপকরা হলেন ওয়াই সি দেবেশ্বর, ডাঃ ধীমান গাঙ্গুলি, ডাঃ অরুণ প্রসাদ মুখোপাধ্যায়, সৌমিত্র চট্টোপাধ্যায় এবং নীরেন্দ্রনাথ চক্রবর্তী। বঙ্গ ভূষণ পেলেন খিদমত ফকির, চপল ভাদুরি, লক্ষ্ণণ দাস বাউল, রেজওয়ানা চৌধুরী বন্যা এবং ডঃ অভিজিৎ চৌধুরী।

To celebrate the anniversaries of the oath-taking ceremonies of the first and second Trinamool Congress Governments in Bengal, blood donation camps are going to be organised across the State from May 20 till May 27.

Donating one’s blood is perhaps the greatest gift that one can give, as it means saving a life, and so, through these camps, Mamata Banerjee would be giving the message that Trinamool Congress has always stood by the people, and will do so always.

The camps are going to be organised at all the police station in the State from 8 pm to 11 pm.

Blood donation camps are also going to be organised at the panchayat and block levels. The camps are going to run for a month. The various clubs in the State are also going to organise such camps during this period.

Requirements for blood become acute particularly during the summer and so these camps would also help in fulfilling that demand.

Trinamool Congress has always stood by the needy, the poor and the downtrodden, and these blood donation camps are just another way of affirming it.

 

মা, মাটি, মানুষের সরকারের বর্ষপূর্তি উপলক্ষে রক্তদান উৎসব

নিজের সরকারের বর্ষপূর্তিকে সামনে রেখে প্রবল গ্রীষ্মে রাজ্যের মানুষের রক্তসঙ্কট মেটাতে বিশেষ কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করলেন জননেত্রী মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। জানিয়ে দিলেন, রাজ্য প্রশাসনের পাশাপাশি এই কর্মসূচি নিয়ে মানুষের পাশে থাকবেন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের নেতা ও কর্মীরা।

জননেত্রী ঘোষণা করেছেন, আগামী ২০ মে থেকে ২৭ মে রাজ্যজুড়ে রক্তদান উৎসব হবে।

২০ মে প্রথমবার ৩৪ বছরের অপশাসন ও রক্তাক্ত অধ্যায়ের সমাপ্তি ঘটিয়ে অগ্নিকন্যার নেতৃত্বে ইতিহাস সৃষ্টি করে বাংলায় ক্ষমতায় এসেছিল মা-মাটি-মানুষের সরকার। পরেরবার বিরোধীদের জোটবদ্ধ কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার এবং কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের সীমাহীন ‘প্রশাসনিক সন্ত্রাস’ উপেক্ষা করে মানুষের আশীর্বাদ নিয়ে বিপুল গরিষ্ঠতার মধ্য দিয়ে ২৭ মে ক্ষমতায় ফিরেছে জননেত্রীর সরকার। এই দু’দিন মানুষের পাশে থাকার জন্য বিশেষ কর্মসূচি নিয়েছেন তিনি।

২০ মে থেকে ২৭ মে বাংলার সমস্ত থানায় রক্তদান শিবির হবে। গরমের কারণে রাত ৮টা থেকে ১১টা পর্যন্ত শিবির চলবে। প্রশাসনের পাশাপাশি তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস দলও এই কর্মসূচি পালন করবে। কর্মসূচি চলবে একমাস ধরে। রক্তদানের মতো মহৎ কর্মসূচির মধ্যে দিয়ে তৃণমূল নিজেদের ত্যাগ ও সেবার কথা আরও একবার মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছে দেবে।

সরকারের প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস পালনে তিনি অভিনব এবং মানব ধর্মের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ দান ‘রক্তদান’ কর্মসূচি নিয়ে মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়ালেন। গরমের সময় রক্তদান কর্মসূচি নয়া ইতিহাস রচনা করবে রাজ্য।

13 May, 2011 was a red letter day in the history of Bengal politics. On that day, Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee uprooted the 34 year old Left Front Government. Mamata Banerjee faced her first election as incumbent Chief Minister in 2016. On 19 May, 2016, the people of Bengal handed her a massive mandate with 211 out of 294 seats.

Like 13 May, 19 May is also thus marked in golden colours in our calendar. On that day, the Maa, Mati, Manush Government came back to power on the plank of development. Social justice, economic reforms and massive growth in infrastructure were the main reasons for the huge victory.

The past one year saw the continuance of the development agenda set by Mamata Banerjee. In the face of a huge debt burden, political vendetta and an onslaught on the social fabric of the State, Didi remained steadfast in her goal and took Bengal to newer heights.

The biggest achievement in the past one year was definitely the historic verdict of Supreme Court declaring the land acquisition in Singur (during Left Front regime) as unconstitutional and ordering the return of land to farmers. On 16 September, 2016, Didi finally fulfilled her promise and handed over land deeds to the farmers in Singur.

Mamata Banerjee had started the tradition of holding administrative review meetings in districts where the entire administration from CMO to BDO were present. She continued this practice and has already conducted at least one meeting in every district. In fact, in the last one year, the CM announced the formation of three new districts: Kalimpong, Bardhaman West and Jhargram.

This year the Bengal Global Business Summit saw the participation of 29 countries with investment proposals worth Rs 2.35 lakh crores.

This year, the number of registered girls under Kanyashree touched 40 lakhs. The CM started distribution of 30 lakh new cycles under Sabuj Sathi scheme. A new scheme called Sabuj Shree was launched where in every family was given a sapling for the birth of a baby. The other schemes like Siksha Shree, Khadya Sathi, Gatidhara, Gitanjali among others continue with equal importance.

The government took a major decision to abolish khajna tax on agricultural land. This would help the farmers, who have been affected by demonetisation. As a matter of fact, the government has started a scheme called Samarthan to financially assist 50,000 workers who lost their jobs due to demonetisation.

In short, the surge of development continues under Mamata Banerjee. As she says, Bangla hobe Biswa Sera (Bengal will become the best in the world).

 

‘বাংলা হবে বিশ্ব সেরা’ মন্ত্রেই কাজ করে চলেছে মা-মাটি-মানুষ সরকার

বাংলার রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে ১৩ মে ২০১১ এক অবিস্মরণীয় দিন। ৩৪ বছরের বাম রাজত্বের অপসাশন ও রক্তাক্ত অধ্যায়ের সমাপ্তি ঘটিয়ে অগ্নিকন্যার নেতৃত্বে ইতিহাস সৃষ্টি করে বাংলায় ক্ষমতায় এসেছিল মা-মাটি-মানুষের সরকার। শুরু হল এক নতুন রাজনৈতিক অধ্যায়। ২০১৬ সালে প্রথমবার  মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসাবে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ভোটে  দাঁড়ালেন এবং  বাংলার মানুষ ১৯ শে মে ২০১৬ তে  ২৯৪ টি আসনের মধ্যে ২১১টি আসন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসকে  জয়যুক্ত করল।

১৩ই মে ও ১৯শে মে দুটি তারিখই ক্যালেন্ডারে স্বর্ণাক্ষরে লেখা আছে। এই ব্যাপক জয়ের কারণই হলো ক্ষমতায় আসার পর মা ,মাটি,মানুষের সরকার উন্নয়ন ,সামাজিক ন্যায় ,অর্থনৈতিক পরিকাঠামোর যে  উন্নতি ঘটিয়েছে এটা  তারই ফল।

গত একবছরে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় যে উন্নয়নের ধারা তৈরী  করেছে তা আমরা দেখেছি। বাম সরকারের ঋণের বিশাল বোঝা,গণতান্ত্রিক কাঠমোর উপর বারবার আক্রমন করা সত্বেও ,দিদি  তার লক্ষ্যে স্থির থেকে বাংলা এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।

জেলায় জেলায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেছেন সিএমও, বিডিও দের। গত একবছরের মধ্যে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তিনটি নতুন জেলার ঘোষণা করেন কালিম্পঙ,পশ্চিম বর্ধমান ,ঝাড়গ্রাম।

এই বছর বেঙ্গল গ্লোবাল বিজনেস সামিটে ২৯টি দেশ অংশগ্রহনের সাথে সাথে ২.৩৫ লাখ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাবও পেয়েছে বাংলা।

এই বছর কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পটি  ৪০লক্ষে পৌঁছেছে। সবুজ সাথীতে ৩০লক্ষ নতুন সাইকেল প্রদান করা হয়েছে। সবুজ শ্রী নামে একটি নতুন প্রকল্প চালু করা হয়েছে যেখানে প্রতিটি পরিবার একটি শিশুর জন্মের জন্য একটি চারা গাছ দেওয়া হয়। অন্যান্য প্রকল্পের মধ্যে যেমন শিক্ষাশ্রী ,খাদ্যসাথী ,গতিধারা সমান গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে চলছে।

কৃষি জমির খাজনা বাতিলের একটি বড় সিদ্ধান্ত সরকার নিয়েছে। নোটবাতিলের প্রভাবে যে সকল কৃষকরা প্রভাবিত হয়েছেন তারা এর মাধ্যমে সাহায্য পাবেন। এছাড়া নোটবাতিলের কারণেই যে সকল কর্মী তাদের চাকরি হারিয়েছেন তারা সমর্থন প্রকল্পের দ্বারা ৫০০০০ হাজার টাকা করে সাহায্যে পাবেন।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে বাংলা হবে বিশ্বসেরা।

On May 13, 2011, the counting of the votes started at 8 AM for the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2011. Earlier the polling had been completed between April 18 and May 10, in six phases. At around 12 noon, the results indicated that Poriborton had finally come to Bengal led by Mamata Banerjee. History was rewritten.

Earlier, Trinamool Chairperson Ms Mamata Banerjee had ended her campaign on 9 May, 2011, in the constituency of Jadavpur. Before campaigning ended at 17:00, she appealed to the electorate to “Help me bring about change”. People showered their blessings.

The 34 years of Left oppression were washed away by the waves of change and the slogan, Bodla Noy, Bodol Chai. Mamata Banerjee became the first woman to be the Chief Minister of West Bengal.

Since then, the Maa Mati Manush of Bengal has never left the side of Ms Mamata Banerjee and the ensuing developmental wave that swept past Bengal.

The successive wins in the Panchayat Elections in 2013, the Municipal Elections in 12 municipalities in 2013, the General elections in 2014 and the Municipal Elections in 2015 reaffirmed the faith of people on West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress. Besides, Trinamool Congress won several by-elections that happened time to time.

Panchayat Election 2013

The Panchayat Election 2013 was the first major challenge to Trinamool Congress after the massive win in 2011.

Of the 17 districts, the Trinamool Congress won Zilla Parishads in 13 districts. Out of the 824 zilla parishad seats, the Trinamool Congress won 530 seats.

On September 21, 2014 elections were held at 12 municipalities: – Mekhliganj (Cooch Behar), Haldibari (Coochbehar), Alipurduar (Jalpaiguri), Balurghat (South Dinajpur), Dalkhola (North Dinajpur), Chakdaha (Nadia,)Panihati (North 24 Parganas), Habra (North 24 Pargana), Diamond Harbour (South 24 Parganas),Burdwan Town, Guskara (Burdwan)and Dubrajpur (Birbhum).

The Trinamool Congress continued with its streak of electoral victories in the State, winning eight of the 12 civic bodies. It won at Diamond Harbour, Habra, Guskara Burdwan, Panihati, Chakdah Balurghat and Dubrajpur.

Over 80 per cent of the 8.4 lakh voters in the State had exercised their franchise on September 21 for the elections to the civic bodies spread across nine districts in the State.

Later in the year, Municipal elections were conducted in Jhargram, Krishnnagar, Medinipur, Baharampur and Howrah. Trinamool won the election in four out of the five bodies, winning at Jhargram, Medinipur, Krishnanagar and the prestigious Howrah municipal board.

General Election 2014

The opposition parties had only one weapon to campaign against the developmental wave of Bengal under Mamata Banerjee. The major media houses were brought into alliance and a campaign of slander through television and print media tried to undermine 2 and half years of restructuring Bengal under Trinamool Congress. People of Bengal didn’t bother much before casting their votes. Out of the 42 seats, Trinamool Congress won 34, compared to 19 in 2009.

Trinamool Congress got 39.40% votes, up from 31.18% in 2009 to finish as the 4th largest party in the Lok Sabha. Around 5, 16, 22,555 people voted and the turnout of voters was 82.16%.

The Trinamool Congress had in 2009 Lok Sabha election won 19 seats. In 2014, Trinamool Congress won all these 20 seats and bagged 14 more.

Municipal Election 2015

Trinamool Congress continued its winning streak by recording a thumping majority in 71 of the 92 civic bodies in West Bengal. The party wrested control of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation by winning 114 of the 144 wards. Twelve civic bodies have no clear winner. In 2010, Trinamool won 66 municipalities.

Trinamool Congress improved its performance from 95 to 114. Of the 2,090 wards in the State, the Trinamool won an overwhelming 1,425 wards.

Assembly Election 2016

Trinamool Congress won a massive victory in the 2016 Assembly elections by winning 211 out of 294 seats. In the bypoll for Cooch Behar and Tamluk bypolls also the party increased its vote share and registered a massive victory.

Bypolls and Municipal Election, 2017

In the bypoll for Kanthi Dakshin Assembly Constituency, the party again registered a massive victory.

In the elections held in 7 municipalities, Trinamool bagged 4 (Raiganj, Domkal, Pujali and Mirik). The party became the first non-mainstream Hill party to win a municipality (Mirik).

Bottomline

It is the voice of the people that matters in democracy. The people of Bengal now know who can make their life better by bringing in actual change they had waited for years. Development speaks for itself. The Trinamool Government strives for development of the people, especially the poor, the financially backward class. People of Bengal understand this simple point and their faith on their Didi remains unhindered.

 

২০১১ সাল থেকে বাংলা জুড়ে শুধুই তৃণমূল

২০১১ সালের ১৩ মে দীর্ঘ ৩৪ বছরের বাম শাসনের অবসান ঘটে। এক নতুন ইতিহাসের সূচনা হয়। অবশেষে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে বাংলায় এল পরিবর্তন।

‘পরিবর্তন আনতে আমাকে সমর্থন করুন’ নির্বাচনী প্রচারের সময় তৃণমূল সুপ্রিমো মানুষের কাছে এই আবেদনই জানিয়েছিলেন। মানুষ তাঁকে আশীর্বাদ করেছেন।

৩৪ বছরের অপশাসন থেকে মুক্তির জন্য পরিবর্তনের ডাক হিসেবে ‘বদলা নয় বদল চাই’ এই স্লোগানই বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছিল। বাংলার প্রথম মহিলা মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে শপথ নিলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তারপর থেকে মা-মাটি-মানুষ তাঁকে সমর্থন করে এসেছেন এবং বাংলায় উন্নয়নকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছেন।

২০১৩ সালে পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনে ধারাবাহিক জয়লাভ, ২০১৩ সালে ১২ টি পৌরসভা নির্বাচন, ২০১৪ সালের সাধারণ নির্বাচন এবং ২০১৫ সালের পৌর নির্বাচনের ফলাফল মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের প্রতি মানুষের বিশ্বাস ও আস্থার উদাহরন। এর পাশাপাশি তৃণমূল অনেক উপনির্বাচনেও জয়লাভ করেছে।

২০১৬ সালের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে ২৯৪ টি আসনের মধ্যে ২১১ টি আসন পেয়ে আবার ক্ষমতায় আসে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। কোচবিহার ও তমলুক উপনির্বাচনেও জয়ী হয় তৃণমূল। ২০১৭-র কাঁথি দক্ষিণ উপনির্বাচনেও বিপুল ভোটে জ্য লাভ করে তৃণমূল। এরপর পুরসভা নির্বাচনেও ৭ টির মধ্যে ৪ টি পুরসভা (রায়গঞ্জ, ডোমকল, পূজালি ও মিরিক) আসে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের দখলে। দীর্ঘ ৪০ বছর পর পাহাড়ে এই প্রথমবার ঘাসফুল ফুটিয়েছে তৃণমূল।

গণতন্ত্রে মানুষই সব কথা বলে। বাংলার মানুষ এখন জানে কে প্রকৃত পরিবর্তনের মাধ্যমে তাদের জীবনযাত্রার মান আরও উন্নত করতে পারবে। তৃণমূল সরকার জনগণের উন্নয়ন, বিশেষ করে গরীব, আর্থিকভাবে পিছিয়ে থাকা শ্রেণীর উন্নয়নের জন্য অনেক প্রকল্প চালু করেছে। বাংলার মানুষ তাই বারবার আস্থা রেখেছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ওপর।

Trinamool Congress started the celebrations of its sixth consecutive year in power today with a grand display of tableaux at Nabanna.

Two tableaus, one titled Ekatai Sampriti (‘unity leads to harmony’), were taken out from the State secretariat, Nabanna at 1.01 pm and simultaneously from the district capitals too. The time of 1.01 pm was chosen because at that moment on May 20, 2011 Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as Chief Minister for the first time. The slogan, Ekatai Sampriti has been coined by Mamata Banerjee herself.

One tableau has the slogan along with the names of the State Government’s developmental schemes. Besides Ekatai Sampriti, it also have a handful of other slogans, all coined by the Chief Minister – Bangla Hobe Biswasera (‘Bengal would be the world’s best’), Unnoyoner Pothe Manusher Sathe (‘With the people on the path of development’), Ashun Sobai Mile Sapath Kori (‘let us all pledge together’) and Gorber Bangla Gori (‘let us create a Bengal we can be proud of’).

The other tableau hosts some of the artistes getting benefits under Lok Prasar Prakalpa, who, through cultural programmes, would spread the message of development and harmony.

These tableaus would travel all over the State, from the hills to the plains. They are meant to highlight the fact that in this atmosphere of social and political instability across the nation, Bengal is a role model of peace.

Also, from May 26 to June 20, in all the districts, three-day celebrations would be organised centering on exhibitions and sales (including handicrafts), cultural programmes and various competitions, in which the party wants to involve everyone, right from students.

The artistes covered under Lok Prasar Prakalpa would also be a part of these three-day programmes, where they would spread the benefits of developmental schemes like Kanyashree, Yuvashree, Khadya Sathi, etc.

 

তৃণমূল সরকারের ৬ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে বিশেষ ট্যাবলো

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকারের ক্ষমতায় আসার ছ’বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে জেলায় জেলায় বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দেওয়া ‘একতাই সম্প্রীতি’ নামে ২ টি ট্যাবলো নবান্ন সহ প্রতিটি জেলা সদর থেকে পরিক্রমায় বেরোয়। এই ২ টি ট্যাবলোর আনুষ্ঠানিক সূচনা করেন পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় ও অমিত মিত্র।

২০১১ সালে এই দিন দুপুর ১টা ১১ মিনিটে রাজভবনে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে শপথ নিয়েছিলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। ওই দিন ও সময়কে স্মরণীয় করে রাখতেই এই আয়োজন।

আজ থেকে গোটা রাজ্যে অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হল। প্রথম পর্যায়ে অনুষ্ঠান শেষে আবার তিনদিন করে এক একটি জেলার সদর শহরের প্রেক্ষাগৃহেও অনুষ্ঠান হবে। এই অনুষ্ঠানের থিম বা নামকরণ করা হয়েছে, ‘একতাই সম্প্রীতি’।

দেশ জুড়ে যে সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা তৈরী হয়েছে তার মাঝে দাঁড়িয়ে রাজ্যের সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতিকে অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখাই এই উদ্যোগের মূল উদ্দেশ্য। পাশাপাশি তৃণমূল সরকার ৬ বছরের শাসনকালে রাজ্যবাসীর জন্য যে উন্নয়নমূলক কাজ করেছে, তার সুফল সাধারণ মানুষের কাছে তুলে ধরা।

একটি ট্যাবলোয় সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি সহ উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্পগুলি প্রদর্শিত হবে। ট্যাবলোর গায়ে স্লোগান থাকবে – বাংলা হবে বিশ্বসেরা, উন্নয়নের পথে মানুষের সাথে, আসুন সবাই মিলে শপথ করি, গর্বের বাংলা গড়ি। প্রতিটি স্লোগান মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নিজের লেখা। অন্য ট্যাবলোটিতে লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পের শিল্পীরা সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে মানুষের কাছে উন্নয়ন ও সম্প্রীতির বার্তা পৌঁছে দেবেন। প্রায় ৩২০জন লোকশিল্পী এই অনুষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে যুক্ত থাকবেন। প্রতিদিন ছ’টি করে অনুষ্ঠান হবে। কন্যাশ্রী, যুবশ্রী, সমব্যথী, সবুজশ্রী, এসবের প্রচার করা হবে। এই অনুষ্ঠানে স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর সদস্যরা নিজেদের হাতে তৈরী জিনিসের প্রদর্শনী ও বিক্রি করবেন।

এক মাস ধরে সারা রাজ্যব্যাপী, পাহাড় থেকে সমতল সর্বত্র এই ট্যাবলো ২টি পরিক্রমা করবে। এই উপলক্ষে গোটা রাজ্যে অনুষ্ঠান চলবে ২৬ জুন পর্যন্ত।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has come out with a new concept for Bengal’s health sector – ‘budget hospital’.

A plan to set up such a hospital at the SSKM Hospital campus in Kolkata had already been taken. Now, a decision has been taken to set up similar Government hospitals across the State.

The five medical college hospitals in Kolkata, viz., SSKM Hospital, Medical College Hospital, RG Kar Medical College Hospital, NRS Medical College Hospital and National Medical College Hospital, Burdwan Medical College Hospital, North Bengal Medical College Hospital and Bankura Sammilani Medical College Hospital, among other hospitals, would build such hospitals within their campuses.

These hospitals would be equipped with facilities like private cabins with ACs and TVs, single, double and four-bedded cabins, ICUs, etc. The user charges would be decided later.

These budget hospitals would serve a two-fold purpose: the rush of patients at the general hospitals would lessen as patients with better means would find an alternative inside the same campuses; as a result of competition, private hospitals would have to bring down their costs.

‘বাজেট হাসপাতাল’ তৈরী করবে রাজ্য সরকার

বাংলার স্বাস্থ্য ব্যাবস্থাকে আরও উন্নত করতে এক অভিনব উদ্যোগ নিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। মধ্যবিত্তদের জন্য তৈরী হবে বাজেট হাসপাতাল। পিজি হাসপাতাল তৈরির সিদ্ধান্ত আগেই নিয়েছিল রাজ্য। এবার কলকাতা ও রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জেলাতেও এই হাসপাতাল তৈরির নির্দেশ দিলেন তিনি।

কলকাতার পিজিসহ পাঁচটি মেডিকেল কলেজের অধ্যক্ষরা ছাড়াও বর্ধমান, উত্তরবঙ্গ ও বাঁকুড়া সম্মিলনী মেডিকেল কলেজের কর্তারা শীঘ্রই এ প্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হবে।

এসি-টিভিতে সাজানো ঝাঁ চকচকে সিঙ্গল, ডবল, ফোর বেডের কেবিন, ওয়ার্ড, আইসিইউ—সবই থাকবে সেখানে। খরচ নিশ্চিতভাবেই মধ্যবিত্তের সাধ্যের মধ্যেই থাকবে।

‘বাজেট হাসপাতাল’ করলে একসঙ্গে একাধিক লক্ষ্যপূরণ হবে। প্রথমত, রোগীর চাপ কিছুটা হলেও কমবে। যাঁদের কিছুটা আর্থিক সামর্থ্য আছে, তাঁরা একই ক্যাম্পাসের মধ্যে বাজেট হাসপাতালে রোগীকে ভরতি করতে পারবেন। দ্বিতীয়ত, প্রতিযোগিতার বাজারে বেসরকারী হাসপাতালগুলি খরচ কমাতে বাধ্য হবে। তৃতীয়ত, কর্পোরেট হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসার খরচ দিতে গিয়ে হয়রান মধ্যবিত্তরা স্বস্তির নিঃশ্বাস ফেলবেন।

Trinamool Congress swept the municipal polls held in seven municipalities, winning in Mirik , Domkal, Pujali and Raiganj. People of Bengal have yet again reposed their faith on the development initiatives of Mamata Banerjee.

For the first time in decades, a party which is not based in the Hills has won majority in a municipality of the Hills. Trinamool won Mirik municipality and won several seats in Kurseong, Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

Trinamool retained their hold on Pujali municipality and wrested Raiganj municipality from Congress. Domkal, which is a new municipality, also came this way.

The people of Bengal have yet again rejected the opposition forces and ploys to play divisive politics.

Congratulations to Ma Mati Manush for again & again putting their trust in us. We are honored, privileged & humbled.

Congratulations to my brothers/sisters in hill areas of Darjeeling Kurseong Kalimpong Mirik for participating in the democratic process.

সাত পুরসভার ভোটেও তৃণমূলের জয়যাত্রা অব্যাহত

সাতটি পুরসভার ভোটের ফলাফল বেরোতেই পাহাড় থেকে সমতল সব জায়গাতেই তৃণমূলের জয়জয়কার। সাতটির মধ্যে ৪টি পুরসভায় বিপুল ব্যবধানে জয়ী তৃণমূল। সমতলে পূজালি, রায়গঞ্জ ও ডোমকলে জয়ী দল।

পাহাড়ে এই প্রথম খাতা খুলল তৃণমূল। মিরিক পুরসভার দখল নিল দল। কার্শিয়ং, দার্জিলিং ও কালিম্পঙেও খাতা খুলেছে তৃণমূল।

বাংলার মা, মাটি, মানুষ আবারও বিরোধীদের কুৎসার রাজনীতিকে নস্যাৎ করে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উন্নয়নকেই বেছে নিলেন।

নির্বাচনের ফলাফল ঘোষণার পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী টুইট করে মা-মাটি-মানুষকে অভিনন্দন জানান।

আমাদের ওপর আস্থা রাখার জন্য মা-মাটি-মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ। দার্জিলিং, কালিম্পং, কার্শিয়াং, মিরিকের ভাই বোনেদেরও আমার শুভেচ্ছা। আমাদের ওপর বিশ্বাস রাখার জন্য মিরিককে বিশেষ ধন্যবাদ। আমরা আপনাদের জন্য কাজ করব। কয়েক দশক পর পাহাড়ে এক নতুন অধ্যায়ের সূচনা হবে। পাহাড় হাসছে।

The Bengal government will help by providing basic infrastructure like space to set up banks in villages where they are yet to be established, the state Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra has said.

Dr Mitra held a meeting with the top brass of all banks and chambers of commerce at Nabanna on Monday. Senior officials of the state government were also present at the meeting in which district magistrates gave their views on the matter through a video conference. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had expressed her concerns over the issue of villages in Bengal without banks while presiding over an administrative review meeting in Howrah on Friday. She had also expressed her wish to be present at the Finance minister’s meeting but couldn’t as she had to leave for Delhi before it was conducted.

Dr Mitra said that it was decided in the meeting that the state government will be providing basic infrastructure to set up banks. The government will provide space of around 300 to 400 square feet in panchayats and other office buildings where branches of nationalised banks could be set up. The first issue that came up at the meeting was that there are around 706 gram panchayats and 359 villages with a population exceeding 5,000 that do not have any bank.

The district magistrates have been asked to file a report stating the availability of space in such villages that can be given to banks to set up their branches. A detailed report on this issue has to be submitted within the next 15 days. The Chief Minister had recently also expressed concerns that farmers were not getting loans despite having Kisan Credit Cards (KCC). Both the issues came up during the meeting held at the state Secretariat on Monday. A decision has been taken to take the necessary steps to ensure that loans are sanctioned to KCC card holders.

At present, farmers having KCC are entitled to loans of Rs 37,091 and a new target has been set to give them a loan of Rs 50,000. Each of the SHGs gets loans of Rs 1.48 lakh. In 2016-17, a target was set to give a loan of Rs 3,263 crore to SHGs but Rs 3,417 crore was instead given as loan to the SHGs. In Monday’s meeting, issues like the Artisan Credit Card and the setting up of more micro ATMs and ATMs in rural areas have also been discussed.

 

রাজ্যের সব গ্রামে ব্যাঙ্ক তৈরী করবে রাজ্য সরকার

রাজ্যের সমস্ত গ্রামেই এবার ব্যাঙ্ক গড়ে তুলতে তৎপর রাজ্য সরকার।  সোমবার এই মর্মে অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র নবান্নে একটি উচ্চপর্যায়ের বৈঠক করেন।

বৈঠকে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে ,গ্রামাঞ্চলে ব্যাঙ্ক গড়ে তুলতে রাজ্য সরকার ৩০০ থেকে ৪০০ স্কোয়ার ফুট করে জায়গা দেবে। সমস্ত জেলাশাসককে নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে আগামী ১৫ দিনের মধ্যে মুখ্যসচিবের কাছে রিপোর্ট জমা করতে।

রাজ্যের যে ৭০৬ টি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত এলাকায় এখনও কোনও ব্যাঙ্ক নেই ,সেখানে ব্যাঙ্ক গড়ে তুলতে গেলে কি ধরণের পরিকাঠামোর প্রয়োজন তারই বিস্তারিত রিপোর্ট জমা করতে বলা হয়েছে জেলাশাসকদের। এছাড়া ও আর ও যে ৩৫৯ টি গ্রাম চিহ্নিত হয়েছে ,যেখানে জনসংখ্যা ৫ হাজারের বেশি ও আশপাশের ৫ কিলোমিটাররে মধ্যে কোনও ব্যাঙ্ক নেই সেই সমস্ত জায়গার রিপোর্ট আগামী ১০দিনের মধ্যে জমা করতে বলা হয়েছে জেলাশাসকদের।

গ্রামগুলোতে ব্যাঙ্ক না থাকার সমস্যা দীর্ঘদিনের। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী একাধিকবার গ্রামের সাধারণ মানুষের এই বাস্তব সমস্যার কথা তুলে ধরেন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কাছে। গ্রামগুলোতে ব্যাঙ্ক না থাকায় জন্য গ্রামের কৃষকদের কৃষাণ ক্রেডিট  কার্ডে ঋণ পেতে বা স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীগুলো ব্যাঙ্ক ঋনের টাকা পেতে প্রতিনিয়তই সমস্যার মধ্যে পড়তে হয়।

এমনকি ক্ষুদ্র ও কুঠির শিল্পে সরকারি ঋনের টাকা পাওয়াও সমস্যা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী সোমবারই অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র সমস্ত বণিকসভার প্রতিনিধি ,একাধিক ব্যাঙ্কের প্রতিনিধি ও রাজ্যের সমস্ত দফতরের সচিব ও প্রধান সচিবদের নিয়ে বৈঠক করেন নবান্নে। এদিন বৈঠকে সমস্ত জেলার জেলাশাসকদেরও ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে সামিল করা হয়েছিল।

রাজ্যে ব্যাঙ্ক সংক্রান্ত সমস্যা থাকা সত্ত্বতেও কিষান ক্রেডিট কার্ড ,স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীগুলোকে ঋন প্রদান বা ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটির শিল্পে রাজ্যের সাফল্য চোখে পড়ার মতো।

Bengal has created a record in thalassaemia testing – 6.5 lakh people have been tested in the last four years. This data was recently revealed by the State Health Department.

There are 21 thalassaemia-testing centres in the State, where anyone can go and have themselves tested. As an encouraging sign, more and more people from all walks of life are coming forward to have themselves tested for the presence of the disease.

Basically, there are three categories of people who come for testing – couples wanting to get married, couples planning to have children and couples who already have a thalassaemia-affected child and don’t want to have another such.

Doctors also hold regular thalassaemia awareness and testing camps in schools and colleges all over the State.

There are 25,000 thalassaemia-affected people in the State.

থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষায় এবার রেকর্ড গড়ল বাংলা। রাজ্য স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তর সূত্রে এ খবর জানা গেছে গত ৪ বছরে সাড়ে ছয় লাখের থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষা হয়েছে বাংলায়।

কলকাতা ও জেলা মিলিয়ে বর্তমানে রাজ্যের ২১টি জায়গায় থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষা করা হয়। সেখানে এসে বহু মানুষ থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষা করিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।

মূলত তিন ধরনের মানুষ আসছেন। এক, বিয়ে হতে চলা দম্পতি, সন্তান গ্রহণের কথা ভাবা দম্পতি এবং একটি সন্তান থ্যালাসেমিয়া আক্রান্ত হওয়ায় দ্বিতীয়বার যাতে সে ভুল না হয়, সেকথা ভেবে সচেতন হওয়া স্বামী-স্ত্রী।

স্কুল কলেজ সহ সমগ্র রাজ্য জুড়ে সর্বস্তরে সচেতনতা বাড়াতে বিভিন্ন রকম প্রচার চালাচ্ছেন ডাক্তাররা।

বর্তমানে সরকারী হিসাব অনুযায়ী, রাজ্যে ২৫ হাজার থ্যালাসেমিয়া রোগী আছে।

A new method of deep-sea pisciculture is soon going to be introduced in Bengal – cage culture. As the name suggests, the practice consists of culturing fish inside big floating cages in the middle of the sea. This type of fish culture is being successfully practiced in Norway, Thailand, Japan, the Philippines, etc.

The project is in the pilot stage. Two 4.5 metre-diameter cages made out of GI pipes and Netlon mesh have been set up 2 km off the coast of Mandarmani. The cages are covered with nets to prevent sea birds from feeding on the fish. They are tied down with buoys to provide stability. Each cage is going to last eight to ten years.

Hatchlings for the pilot project would be released in September, which would grow to the right size – 1 to 1.5 kg – within six months. Mostly, bhetki and pomfret would be reared in these cages, since these are fishes in high demand and are costly as well. Such deep-sea culture in large numbers would bring down the prices.

This is also being encouraged to bring down the pressure on the lakes and inland hatcheries; culture in the open seas would have no environmental impact.

Scientists are also researching the viability of culturing pearls in the cages.

In the State, the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences is in charge of the project, which is a part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-led All India Network Project on Mariculture. Five other States are part of the project.

মাঝসমুদ্রে খাঁচায় মাছ চাষ করবে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর। মাঝসমুদ্রে ভাসছে খাঁচা আর সেখানে খেলা করছে মাছ। সেই মাছ যাতে বেরিয়ে না যায় বা অন্য কোনও জলজ প্রাণী সেখানে ঢুকে পড়তে না পরে, সেজন্য ঘিরে রাখা হয়েছে সেটিকে।নরওয়ে, থাইল্যান্ড, জাপান, ফিলিপিন্সে অনেক আগেই এ ধরনের কাজে অনেক সফল হয়েছে।

আগামী দিনে সমুদ্রে মাছ চাষের ক্ষেত্রে জোর দিতে হবে। সেখানে জায়গার কোনও অভাব হবে না!‌ তাই বিজ্ঞানীরা বেছে নিয়েছেন সমুদ্রকে। কী করে মাছের উৎপাদন আরও বাড়ানো যায় তাই নিয়ে চর্চা চলছে। ইন্ডিয়ান কাউন্সিল অফ এগ্রিকালচারাল রিসার্চের অল ইন্ডিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক প্রজেক্ট অফ মেরিকালচারের অন্তর্গত এই প্রকল্পটি। বিশেষজ্ঞদের কাছে যা পরিচিত ‘কেজ কালচার’ নামে‌।

এটি একটি পাইলট প্রজেক্ট। বছরের শুরুতে বসানো হয়েছে জিআই পাইপ আর নেটলন দিয়ে তৈরী খাঁচা।  মন্দারমনির সমুদ্রের পাড়ে ২ কিমি দূরে তৈরী করা হচ্ছে এটি। আপাতত বসানো হয়েছে সাড়ে চার মিটার ব্যাসের দুটি খাঁচা। ভাসমান ওই খাঁচা ৮–১০ বছর টিকবে।  তবে নোঙর দিয়ে বেঁধে রাখা হয়েছে যাতে সেটি জলতরঙ্গে ভেসে না যায়।

সেখানে পুজোর আগেই ছাড়া হবে মাছের চারা। মাস ছয়েকের মধ্যে তা বড় হয়ে যাবে। ভেটকি, পমফ্রেটের মতো মাছ চাষ করা হবে। কারণ বাজারে এগুলির চাহিদা রয়েছে। দামও বেশি। এই পদ্ধতিতে চাষ করার খরচ কম হবে বলে আশা করছেন প্রকল্পের সঙ্গে যুক্ত আধিকারিকরা। এক–একটি মাছের ওজন হবে এক থেকে দেড় কেজি। এমনই হিসেব বিশেষজ্ঞদের।

মুক্তো চাষেরও চেষ্টা করে দেখছেন বিজ্ঞানীরা। স্থানীয় মাছ ব্যবসায়ীদেরও যুক্ত করা হচ্ছে। তাঁদের প্রশিক্ষণেরও ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে। এছাড়া, আরও ৫টি রাজ্যের এই প্রকল্পের কাজ চলছে।
