Taking Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee’s plan of producing solar power on a major scale, the West Bengal Government is setting solar domes in every district.

The Power Minister, Manish Gupta announced this while inaugurating a 10-kW grid-connected solar project at Sonarpur in South 24-Parganas district. The solar power generated by the Sonarpur-Rajpur Municipality, worth Rs 86-87 lakh, would be linked to the state’s electricity grid.

The Minister also said that the world’s first 120-feet high solar dome is coming up at Eco Park in Rajarhat.

Already, 500 schools in the State are using solar power for various purposes. Soon, every panchayat and municipality will have access to siolar power.

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সৌর শক্তি ব্যবহারের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন তাই প্রতিটি জেলায় তৈরি হচ্ছে সৌরপ্ল্যান্ট।

সোনারপুরে একটি গ্রিড সংযুক্ত ১০ কিলোওয়াট শক্তিসম্পন্ন চিরাচরিত সৌরশক্তি ব্যবহারের উদ্বোধনে এসে একথা জানান মণীশ গুপ্ত। সোনারপুর-রাজপুর পুরসভার ৮৬-৮৭ লক্ষ টাকার বিদ্যু९ সরাসরি গ্রিডে পাঠানো হবে।

বিদ্যু९মন্ত্রী জানান, বিশ্বে প্রথম ১২০ ফুট উচ্চতাবিশিষ্ট অচিরাচরিত শক্তির সোলার ডোম হবে রাজারহাটের ইকো পার্কে।

রাজ্যের ৫০০টি স্কুলে সৌরবিদ্যু९ পৌঁছে গিয়েছে। শীঘ্রই প্রতিটি পঞ্চায়েত ও পুরসভায় বসানো হবে সৌরবিদ্যু९।

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a host of developmental projects in Nayagram, Paschim Medinipur district.

Two bridges were inaugurated – one over the Subarnarekha River at Bhasraghat in Nayagram, named Jangal Kanya, connecting Keshiary and Nayagram block, and the other, Lalgarh Bridge, over the Kansabati River at Aamkala Ghat in Lalgarh, connecting Medinipur and Jhargram.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated six super-speciality hospitals and other health projects from Nayagram. The six are Jhargram Super-speciality Hospital, Kakdwip Super-speciality Hospital, Bishnupur Super-speciality Hospital, Panskura Super-speciality Hospital, Baruipur Super-speciality Hospital and Gopiballavpur Super-speciality Hospital.

The other health projects are a Mother & Child Hub at Krishnanagar District Hospital, Critical Care Units at Bankura and Burdwan Medical College & Hospitals, a High-Dependency Unit at Kakdwip Sub-divisional Hospital, an SNCU at Alipurduar, Digital X-Ray Units at Rampurhat and Raiganj District Hospitals, and Canning Sub-divisional Hospital, Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres at Tapsia Rural Hospital in Gopiballavpur Block-II, Mohanpur Block Primary Health Centre (BPHC) in Jhargram Block, Salboni Rural Hospital in Salboni Block, Kewakole BPHC in Garbeta Block-II and Depara BPHC in Medinipur Sadar Block.

Foundation stones of two health units – Trauma Care Unit and High-Dependency Unit at Amtala Rural Hospital, South 24-Parganas – were laid.

Two wildlife projects were also inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee – naturalistic enclosures of Jangalmahal Zoological Park in Jhargram and the State Forest Training Institute in Hijli.

Jangalmahal under the Trinamool Congress has seen a huge surge of developmental activities. The dark days of Amlasole are over. Now, the picture of plenty is eye-catching. Various schemes on food security, health, irrigation and drinking water have put smiles on the faces of all the people of Jangalmahal.

  • I feel proud that I am able to be present with you here in Nayagram.
  • I convey my best wishes to all the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinees this year.
  • I have named the new bridge over the Subarnarekha river inaugurated today ‘Jangal Kanya.’
  • This is the longest bridge in West Bengal.
  • We have spent Rs 170 cr to build the Jangal Kanya Bridge. It will benefit the people on both sides.
  • Nayagram Stadium is going to be built soon.
  • Of 25 lakh bicycles to be distributed, 20 lakh have already been given, 2 lakh are being given today, and the rest 3 lakh are going to be given soon.
  • Jhargram is to be made into a district, within the next six months. Now it is a subdivision.
  • Six super-speciality hospitals have also been inaugurated from Nayagram today.
  • In the first six months, only the out-patients department (OPD) would operate; after that would the hospitals become fully operational.
  • Many other health projects have been inaugurated today.
  • A Forest Training Institute has come, and renovations have been done to two zoological parks.
  • We are extending benefits of Government programmes to 93% of the people of the district.
  • Within the next 6 months, Jhargram will become a new district.
  • Two Kisan Mandis have come up in Paschim Medinipur district – in Binpur-2 and Garbeta-2 blocks.
  • This district has seen all-around development.
  • The earlier Government did nothing for Jangalmahal for 34 yrs, and transformed it into a land of bloodshed.
  • We have brought the smiles back to the people of Jangalmahal, we have brought back peace.
  • What did those people, who are making so much of noise now, do in the 34 yrs that they had?
  • This Government has been under a huge debt, but the work that has been done has reached the people in the grassroots.
  • The good work that has been done is only due to the blessings of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush.’
  • I do not want the ICDS to close down, I want it to function smoothly for the benefit of the people.
  • That is why the State is funding the programme; the Central Government has stopped its funding.
  • Those who are doing politics with the Sabuj Sathi programme today did not think of anything close to it in the 34 years.
  • We have allotted Rs 500 crore for the areas which are dry, so that water can be conserved.
  • Rs 700 crore has been spent for a programme to safeguard Purba and Paschim Medinipur districts from flooding.
  • We have put in place a mechanism so that the police constables are recruited from the civic volunteers and Home Guards; there is a 15% quota in those two forces.
  • We have worked for all people irrespective of their status.
  • We have distributed livestock to the people to support their livelihood.
  • We have introduced a security programme for the kendu leaf collectors.
  • We love the people of Jangalmahal and we love the soil of this region which has stood through so much.
  • We answer all the slander from the Opposition through development.
  • Bengal will show the way forward in the future.

জঙ্গলমহলে বেশ কিছু প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের নয়াগ্রাম ও অন্যান্য জায়গায় বেশ কিছু উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন।

২টি সেতুর উদ্বোধন হল – একটি নয়াগ্রামের ভসরাঘাটে সুবর্ণরেখা নদীর ওপর, যার নাম জঙ্গলকন্যা এটি খড়গপুর। এই সেতুটি কেশিয়াড়ি ও নয়াগ্রামের মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপন করেছে। অপরটি লালগড় সেতু, আমকলা ঘাটে কংসাবতী নদীর ওপর অবস্থিত, এর মাধ্যমে মেদিনীপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রামের মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপন করেছে।

আজ নয়াগ্রামে ৬ টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটালেরও উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এগুলি হল, ঝাড়গ্রাম সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল, কাকদ্বীপ সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল,বিষ্ণুপুর সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল, পাঁশকুঁড়া সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল, বারুইপুর সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল এবং গোপীবল্লভপুর সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল।

কৃষ্ণনগর জেলা হাসপাতালে মাদার ও চাইল্ড হাব, বাঁকুড়া ও বর্ধমান মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ক্রিটিক্যাল কেয়ার ইউনিট, কাকদ্বীপ মহকুমা হাসপাতালে এস.এন.সি.ইউ, রামপুরহাট জেলা হাসপাতালে, ক্যানিং মহকুমা হাসপাতালে এবং রায়গঞ্জ জেলা হাসপাতালে ডিজিটাল এক্স-রে উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এছাড়া, গোপীবল্লভপুর-২ ব্লকের তপসিয়া গ্রামীণ হাসপাতাল, ঝাড়গ্রাম ব্লকের মোহনপুর ব্লক প্রাথমিক স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র, শালবনি গ্রামীণ হাসপাতালেরও উদ্বোধন করলেন।

আমতলা গ্রামীণ হাসপাতালে (দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগণা) ট্রমা কেয়ার ইউনিট ও হাই-ডিপেনডেন্সি ইউনিটের শুভ শিলান্যাস করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

জঙ্গলমহলের ঝাড়গ্রামে প্রকৃতি পরিবেষ্টিত চিড়িয়াখানা এবং খড়গপুরের হিজলিতে রাজ্য বোন প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

আমলাশোল থেকে শুরু করে সমগ্র জঙ্গলমহলে উন্নয়নের জোয়ার বইছে, তৃণমূল সরকারের আমলে। শিক্ষা, খাদ্য সুরক্ষা, পানীয় জল, স্বাস্থ্য, সেচ সব ক্ষেত্রেই নতুন প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে। জঙ্গলমহলের সর্বত্র শান্তি বিরাজ করছে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যর কিছু বিষয়ঃ

  • মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার্থীদের আমার অনেক অভিননদন এবং উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার্থীদের আমার অনেক শুভেচ্ছা

The Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal Government is laying a lot of stress on water transport.

It has started a new water transport project, a ferry service for both people and goods together. Such a ferry service is called ‘RORO’ or ‘roll on roll over.’ The idea behind such ferries is that vehicles, including heavy vehicles like goods trucks, would roll on over ramps on to these huge ferries and then roll off over ramps on the opposite bank of the river.

Rs 100 crore has been allotted for this new RORO service.

RORO services from Raichak in South 24 Parganas district to Kukrahati in Purba Medinipur district, from Budge Budge in South 24 Parganas to Bauria in Howra, and from Chandannagar in Hiighly Jagaddal in North 24 Parganas, all over the Hooghly River, would be started as a part of the new project.

Also a part of this project would be services from Katwa and Kalna in Bardhaman district to Ballavpara and Nrisinghapur, respectively, in Nadia district.

It should be noted that such services have already been started from Hasnabad to Par Hasnabad over the Ichhamati River and from Nebukhali to Dulduli over the Sahebkhali River, all in North 24 Parganas district, and from Narayanpur to Namkhana over the Hatania-Doania River in South 24 Parganas district. Ferries used in these services would be renovated and modernised as a part of the Rs 100-crore project.

According to State Government data, almost 10,000 people, and vehicles ranging from motorbikes and bicycles to goods trucks and even ambulances, cross the Hooghly River from Kalna to Nrisinghapur every day.

In days to come, the Transport Department would introduce more projects centred on the Hooghly River.

 

জল্পথ পরিবহনে নতুন উদ্যোগ রাজ্য সরকারের

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস পরিচালিত রাজ্য সরকার জলপথ পরিবহনে বিশেষভাবে জোর দিচ্ছে।

গ্রামবাংলার নিত্যদিনের নদী পারাপারের বৃত্তান্তকে আধুনিকীকরণে উদ্যোগী হয়েছে পরিবহণ দপ্তর। একটি নির্দিষ্ট ভেসেলে চড়ে যাত্রী এবং পণ্যবাহী ট্রাক নদীর পাড়ে ওঠার ও নামার জন্যে জন্য রোরো ফেরি সার্ভিস শুরু করবে পরিবহণ দফতর।

১০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে এই প্রকল্পের জন্য।

হুগলি নদীর ওপর দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার রায়চক থেকে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের কুকড়াহাটি, দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার বজবজ থেকে হাওড়ার বাউরিয়া, হুগলির চন্দননগর থেকে উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার জগদ্দল পুরসভা এলাকায় রোর ফেরি সার্ভিস চালু করার বিষয়ে উদ্যোগী রাজ্য সরকার।

বর্ধমানের কাটোয়া থেকে নদিয়ার বল্লভপাড়া এবং বর্ধমানের কালনা থেকে নৄসিংহপুর পর্যন্ত রোরো ফেরি সার্ভিসের জন্য জেটি নির্মাণ করবে পরিবহণ দপ্তর।

উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার ইছামতী নদীর ওপর হাসনাবাদ থেকে পার হাসনাবাদ, সাহেবখালি নদীর ওপর নেবুখালি থেকে দুলদুলি এবং দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার হাতানিয়া-দোয়ানিয়া নদীর ওপর নারায়ণপুর থেকে নামখানা পর্যন্ত ইতিমধ্যেই এই পরিষেবা শুরু হয়ে গেছে।

সরকারী তথ্য অনুযায়ী, নদীপথে প্রতিদিন প্রায় দশ হাজারের বেশি মানুষ হুগলি নদীর ওপর দিয়ে কালনা থেকে নৄসিংহপুর পর্যন্ত যাতায়াত করেন। নিত্য যাত্রীদের পাশাপাশি পণ্যবাহী ট্রাক, মোটরবাইক, সাইকেল সহ অ্যাম্বুলেন্স পর্যন্ত ভেসেলে যাতায়াত করে।

আগামী দিনে হুগলি নদীকে কেন্দ্র করে পরিবহণ দপ্তর তাদের একাধিক একাধিক প্রকল্প রাজ্যবাসীকে উপহার দেবে।

Speaking at the inauguration of ITC’s food park at Panchla in Howrah district, chairman YC Deveshwar praised the Bengal Government’s commitment to industry. He said that ITC has set up as many as 12 manufacturing units in the State during the four years of Trinamool Congress. He has committed Rs 4500 crore in the food processing, hospitality and IT businesses, including the Rs 3000 crore in the units inaugurated today.

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone of ITC’s food park (named Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing Facility), and two other business units of the company, today.

The other units inaugurated were another food park in Uluberia, also in Howrah district, and an IT hub of ITC Infotech, called Information Technology Park, in Rajarhat, both by remote control.

The Panchla facility would have a built-up area of 8 lakh square feet and the Uluberia facility, of 4 lakh square feet. The IT park would have a built-up area of 27 lakh square feet, and would be situated on 16 acres. It would employ 10,000 people.

The Trinamool Congress Government has created an industrial revival in West Bengal. Many projects, both big ones and on the MSME scale, have come up or are on the verge of coming up in the State. The last five years have changed the state of industry in the State.

কৃষি ও শিল্প দুই বোন: মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আজ হাওড়ার পাঁচলায় একটি ফুড পার্কের শিলান্যাস করলেন।

প্রায় ১৬ একর জমির ওপর ২৭ লক্ষ বর্গফুট এলাকা জুড়ে গ্রিন পার্ক ও তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি পার্ক তৈরি হবে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আজ আরও দুটি প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করবেন। একটি পাঁচলায় ৮ লক্ষ বর্গফুট এলাকা জুড়ে এবং অপরটি উলুবেড়িয়ায় ৪ লক্ষ বর্গফুট এলাকা জুড়ে। ২টি প্রকল্পই হাওড়ায়।

আইটিসির এই তিনটি প্রকল্পের জন্য তিন হাজার কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে। কোম্পানি মোট ৪,৫০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করবে।

আইটিসি চেয়ারম্যান এদিন রাজ্য সরকারের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন। তিনি বলেন, আইটিসির ১২টি ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং ইউনিটের বেশিরভাগ এই সরকারের আমলে তৈরি হয়েছে।

The West Bengal Government, under the inspiration of Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee, has initiated a Rs 154-crore project to provide 80 lakh primary school students free shoes.

The distribution of shoes to the students of classes I to IV will begin from the end of February. A seven-member committee has been formed to implement the scheme.

Currently textbooks are being distributed free of cost to all students of recognised primary schools up to Class V and free school dress is being provided to girl students of primary schools.

The Trinamool Congress-led Kolkata Municipal Corporation is distributing ‘education kits’ to the students of its primary schools. Each kit has a school dress, a school bag, socks, a pair of shoes, a pencil box, a sharpener, an eraser, copies and an identity card.

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় রাজ্য সরকার প্রাথমিকের স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের জুতো প্রদানের যুগান্তকারী সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই প্রকল্পে প্রাথমিকের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য ১৫৪ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। প্রাথমিকের সব স্কুল মিলিয়ে ৮০ লক্ষ ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে দেওয়া হবে।

ক্লাস ওয়ান থেকে ক্লাস ফোরের ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের দেওয়া হবে। এই প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হবে ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসের শেষ থেকে। ৭ সদস্যের এক প্রতিনিধি দল তৈরি করা হয়েছে এই প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নের জন্য।

ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকার স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের জন্যও বিনামূল্যে বইয়ের ব্যবস্থা করেছে। এছাড়া ক্লাস ফাইভ পর্যন্ত ছাত্রীদের বিনামূল্যে পোশাক দিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

কলকাতা পুরসভা প্রাথমিকের স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের ‘এডুকেশন কিট’ বিতরণ করছে। প্রতিটি কিটে রয়েছে স্কুলের পোশাক, একটি স্কুল ব্যাগ, মোজা, জুতো, পেনসিল বক্স, রবার, শার্প্নার এবং পরিচয় পত্র।

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the Khadya Sathi Scheme on January 27, 2016.

As per this scheme, 7 crore, or almost 90% of the State’s population, would get rice and wheat at Rs 2 per kg. Around 50 lakh more would get the same at half the market price.

For the last few months, the State Government has been conducting the process of digitising ration cards. The digital ration cards replace the earlier ones.

The process is still ongoing. So those who have any issues regarding the ration cards, can log in to the website of the Food and Supplies Department of the Government of West Bengal, wbpds.gov.in to download the following forms, fill them up and submit them at the concerned borough or municipality office:

 

Those who have any enquiries regarding the getting of food grains through the public distribution system (PDS), that is, from ration dealers, can call up 1967 or 18003455505, from 8 am to 8 pm.

Those who still have the old ration cards can, however, get non-PDS goods (there are 50 such items) and kerosene oil.

Also, as the Chief Minister announced at the press conference in Nabanna yesterday, rations would be valid for a period of two months, so that even if one is unable to take one’s share due to a delay in getting new cards, there is two months’ time.

‘খাদ্য সাথী’ প্রকল্প – কি সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় ২৭শে জানুয়ারি ২০১৬ থেকে সারা রাজ্যে শুরু হয়েছে ‘খাদ্য সাথী’ প্রকল্প।

এই প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৭ কোটি মানুষ ২ টাকা কিলো দরে খাদ্যশস্য পাবেন। আরও ৫০ লক্ষ মানুষ বাজার দামের অর্ধেক মূল্যে খাদ্যশস্য পাবেন।

বিগত কয়েক মাস ধরে রাজ্য সরকারের ডিজিটাল রেশন কার্ড তৈরির প্রক্রিয়া চলছে। প্রক্রিয়া এখনোও চলছে। যেসকল ব্যক্তি এখনোও রেশন কার্ড পাননি অথবা যার রেশন কার্ডে ভুল আছে তারা খাদ্য দপ্তরের ওয়েবসাইট wbpds.gov.in থেকে ফর্ম ডাউনলোড করে সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্লক অফিসে/মিউনিসিপালিটি বা বোরো অফিসে ফর্ম জমা করবেন।

  • নতুন নাম তোলার জন্য: Form III-R / Form III-U
  • পরিবারের কেউ বাকি থাকলে তার নাম অন্তর্ভুক্তির জন্য: Form IV-R / Form IV-U
  • নাম বা ঠিকানা সংশোধনের জন্য: Form V-R / Form V-U
  • রেশন দোকান পরিবর্তনের জন্য: Form VI-R / Form VI-U

প্রাপ্য খাদ্যসামগ্রী পেতে অসুবিধা বোধ করলে বিনা খরচে ফোন করুন ১৯৬৭ অথবা ১৮০০ ৩৪৫ ৫৫০৫ এই নম্বরে। এটি সকাল ৮টা থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত প্রতিদিন খোলা থাকবে।

যাদের পুরনো রেশন কার্ড আছে তারা সেটির মাধ্যমে রেশন দোকানে উপলব্ধ নন-পি.ডি সামগ্রী (৫০টি আইটেম) ও কেরোসিন তেল সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী গতকাল নবান্নে একটি সাংবাদিক বৈঠক করে বলেন যারা রেশন কার্ডের অভাবে এখনোও রেশন তুলতে পারেননি তারা ২ মাস পরও এই রেশন পাবেন।

Double-decker buses have made a comeback to the streets of Kolkata.

The Trinamool Congress Government has brought many changes to the city’s transport system. No-refusal taxis and buses along new routes are some of them.

Now, it is the double-decker bus, which is a heritage of Kolkata. In fact, Kolkata is the only city to have double-decker buses.

The buses, painted in soothing shades of blue and white, will primarily run between Rajarhat and New Town, especially around Eco Park. Later, the service would be extended to other places.

কলকাতার রাস্তায় আবার ফিরতে চলেছে দোতলা বাস।

রাজ্যের পরিবহণ ব্যবস্থায় অনেক পরিবর্তন এনেছে তৃণমূল সরকার।

এবার কলকাতার ঐতিহ্য দোতলা বাস ফিরতে চলেছে কলকাতায়। কলকাতা একমাত্র শহর যেখানে এই বাস আছে।

বাসটি নীল-সাদা রঙের। প্রাথমিক ভাবে এটি নিউটাউন এবং রাজারহাট বিশেষ করে ইকো পার্ক এলাকায় চলবে। পরে এই পরিষেবা অন্যত্র বিস্তৃত হবে।

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee’s personal initiative, Kanyashree Scheme, would now appear in sari designs.

The Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Textiles has appointed an award-winning weaver from Fulia in Nadia district to come up with the designs.

Fulia is famous for Jamdani saris and so, naturally, the designs would be created on such saris. The saris will be displayed at Biswa Bangla stalls in Kolkata’s Dakshinapan, in Darjeeling and at the various airports.

The saris will showcase the rigorous crafting and delicate details that Jamdani saris are known for. The design consists of a collage of schoolgirls, Bengali alphabets and verses by Kazi Nazrul Islam woven on them, along with the Kanyashree logo.

Through these saris, not only would the Chief Minister’s pioneering initiative for the welfare of schoolgirls be held up, but also the glory of the exquisite craftsmanship that the hand-woven Jamdani sari is known for.

 

এবার শাড়ির মাধ্যমে কনাশ্রী প্রকল্পের প্রচার

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ব্যক্তিগত উদ্যোগে এবার ডিজাইনার শাড়ির মাধ্যমে কনাশ্রী প্রকল্পের প্রচার করা হবে।

এই কাজের জন্য নদিয়ার ফুলিয়া থেকে একজন পুরস্কার প্রাপ্ত ডিজাইনারকে নির্ধারণ করেছেন ক্ষুদ্র-মাঝারি কুটির ও বস্ত্রশিল্প উন্নয়ন দপ্তরের মন্ত্রী।

নদিয়ার ফুলিয়া জামদানি শাড়ির জন্য বিখ্যাত; সুতরাং স্বাভাবিক ভাবেই এই ধরনের শাড়ির ওপর ডিজাইন করা হবে। কলকাতার দক্ষিণাপন, দার্জিলিংসহ বিভিন্ন বিমানবন্দরে বিশ্ব বাংলা স্টলে এই শাড়ি প্রদর্শিত হবে।

শাড়ির ডিজাইনের মধ্যে থাকবে স্কুল ছাত্রীদের ছবির কোলাজ, বাংলা বর্ণমালা, কাজী নজরুলের কবিতা এবং কন্যাশ্রী লোগো।

এই ধরনের শাড়ির মাধ্যমে শুধুমাত্র স্কুলছাত্রীদের কল্যাণে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর পথিকৃত উদ্যোগ বাস্তবায়িত হবে তা নয় তার সাথে সাথে সূক্ষ্ম কাজের জন্য খ্যাত জামদানি শাড়ির গৌরব ও খ্যাতির প্রসার ঘটবে।

Under the inspiring leadership of West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee, two crèche-cum-playschools for children of female convicts inaugurated today at Alipore Women’s Correctional Home and Dum Dum Correctional Home.

The crèches have been named Shishu Aloy. Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Minister, Dr Shashi Panja today inaugurated at Alipore Women’s Correctional.

 

আজ আলিপুর এবং দমদম সংশোধনাগারে শিশু আলয়ের উদ্বোধন হল

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় আজ ২টি শিশু আলয়ের উদ্বোধন করা হল। একটি আলিপুর মহিলা সংশোধনাগারে এবং অপরটি দমদম মহিলা  সংশোধনাগারে।

শিশু বিকাশ এবং নারী উন্নয়ন ও সমাজ কল্যাণ বিভাগ মন্ত্রী ডাঃ শশী পাঁজা এটির উদ্বোধন করেন। এছাড়া, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের সংশোধন প্রশাসন বিভাগের মন্ত্রী জনাব হায়দার আজিজ সফি উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই অনুষ্ঠানে।

West Bengal’s food processing sector is poised for a nine-fold growth – from the current Rs 4144 crore to Rs 35,745 crore by 2020, according to a study jointly conducted by the industry body, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the international consultancy, KPMG.

The CII-KPMG report, titled ‘Developing the Food Processing Industry in West Bengal,’ states that this mega-growth would generate 2.2 lakh jobs between 2017 and 2022. It was released on Friday by West Bengal Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra.

The report says that West Bengal has the suitable climate, the perfect geographical location and the required infrastructural support for the development of the food processing industry.

According to Dr Amit Mitra, who released the report, “The report proves that the State has immense potential in the food processing sector. We want to maximize this potential.” He further said, “West Bengal is the leading state in India in horticultural production.”

West Bengal has six agro-climatic zones, all-weather roads, uninterrupted power supply and enabling policies, in addition to its location as a gateway to the North-East. It also has easy connectivity with the rest of the country and international markets, especially in South-East and East Asia.

Between August 2013 and August 2014, 50 food processing projects have come up in West Bengal.

 

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্পে ব্যাপক বৃদ্ধি

আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা কেপিএমজির রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ বিভাগের বৃদ্ধির হার নয় গুন – যা ২০২০ সালের মধ্যে ৪১৪৪ কোটি টাকা থেকে বেড়ে ৩৫,৭৪৫ কোটি টাকা হতে চলেছে।

কেপিএমজির শুক্রবার প্রকাশিত রিপোর্টে বলা হয়েছে খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্পে রাজ্যে প্রায় ২ লক্ষ কর্মসংস্থান হবে ২০১৭ থেকে ২০২২ সালের মধ্যে।

খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্পের জন্য পশ্চিমবঙ্গ আদর্শ। এখানকার আবহাওয়া, ভৌগলিক পরিবেশ এবং প্রয়জনিয় পরিকাঠামো সব কিছুই রয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে।

শিল্পমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র এই রিপোর্ট পেশের পর জানান, “এই রিপোর্টে প্রমাণিত খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে সমূহ সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। আমরা এই সম্ভাবনার পূর্ণ বাস্তবায়ন চাই”। তিনি আরও বলেন, “সবজি উৎপাদনেও পশ্চিমবঙ্গ প্রথম”।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গে ছয়টি কৃষি জলবায়ুপূর্ণ এলাকা আছে। আবহাওয়া উপযুক্ত সড়কপথ, নিরবচ্ছিন্ন বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ ও শিল্প উপযুক্ত নীতি রয়েছে, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের প্রবেশদ্বার।  এছাড়া, দেশের ও আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারের  সঙ্গে এর সহজ সংযোগ রয়েছে, বিশেষ করে দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব ও পূর্ব এশিয়ায়।

২০১৩ সালের আগস্ট মাস থেকে ২০১৪ সালের আগস্ট মাস পর্যন্ত রাজ্যে প্রায় ৫০টি খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ প্রকল্প এসেছে।
