The Bengal Government is planning to set up a police commissionerate in Hooghly district. It is expected that the new police commissionerate will be named Chandannagar Police Commissionerate.  This will be the sixth police commissionerate in Bengal after the change-of-guard in the state after Howrah, Bidhannagar, Barrackpore, Asansol-Durgapur and Siliguri police commissionerates.

As many as nine police stations including Bhadreswar, Rishra, Serampore, Chinsura, Dankuni and two women police stations will be under the police commissionerate. The remaining 17, including a woman police station, will remain under the jurisdiction of the state police that will be headed by the Superintendent of Police.

The proposal was mooted to ensure better policing in the area and the bifurcation has been done in such a manner that all the police stations under the jurisdiction of the proposed police commissionerate are along the river Hooghly.

According to plans, the headquarters of the police commissionerate will be Chinsura while the headquarters of the Hooghly rural part will be Singur. After Trinamool Congress took charge of the Government, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had taken steps to set up separate police commissionerates in urban parts of the districts.  At the same time, the area that was under the jurisdiction of Kolkata Police was also doubled.

 

হুগলী জেলায় একটি নতুন পুলিশ কমিশনারেট গঠন করছে রাজ্য সরকার  

রাজ্যের আইন শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি আরও ভালোভাবে রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের জন্য আরও একটি নতুন কমিশনারেট গঠনের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। হুগলী জেলা থেকে আলাদা করে তৈরী হচ্ছে চন্দননগর পুলিশ কমিশনারেট, এটি ষষ্ঠ পুলিশ কমিশনারেট। ইতিমধ্যেই ৫টি পুলিশ কমিশনারেট রয়েছে রাজ্যে। এগুলি হল – হাওড়া, বিধাননগর, ব্যারাকপুর, আসানসোল-দুর্গাপুর এবং শিলিগুড়ি কমিশনারেট।

এই নতুন পুলিশ কমিশনারেটের অধীনে রয়েছে চুঁচুড়া, ভদ্রেশ্বর, শ্রীরামপুর, রিষড়া সহ ৭ টি থানা ও ২ টি মহিলা থানা। পাশাপাশি হুগলী জেলা গ্রামীণে থাকবে অবশিষ্ট ১৭ টি থানা যার মধ্যে ১টি মহিলা থানা।

হুগলী জেলার আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি ভালোভাবে রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের জন্যই এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার ।

পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী, এই নতুন কমিশনারেটের হেড কোয়ার্টার হবে চুঁচুড়ায়। হুগলী জেলা পুলিশের সদর দপ্তর তৈরী হবে সিঙ্গুরে। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ক্ষমতায় আসার পর মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় রাজ্যের আইন শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি উন্নত করার লক্ষ্যে জেলার বিভিন্ন প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলে আলাদা আলাদা পুলিশ কমিশনারেট তৈরীর উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন। এর পাশাপাশি, কলকাতা পুলিশ আওতাধীন এলাকাও দ্বিগুণ করা হয়েছে।

The inmates of three correctional homes in Bengal are being trained in the making of jute bags.

Twenty-five inmates – 15 from Dum Dum Central Correctional Home and five each from Berhampore and Jalpaiguri Central Correctional Homes – are being trained by the correctional home authorities in collaboration with the National Jute Board and a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The inmates are trained from 11 am to 4 pm. The products they make have found a good response from buyers at the jail depots and at various fairs they are sold in.

The correctional homes of Bengal, under the guidance of the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government، are running long-term programmes to train their inmates in various activities – making puffed rice (muri) and phenyl, stitching (for female inmates), wood carving, making uniforms, etc. A hundred and fifty inmates, covering all the correctional homes in the State, are getting the benefits of training.

The number of training programmes and activities, and the number of inmates being involved are being gradually increased.

These activities encourage the inmates to keep their minds away from negative thoughts and also form the basis for a crime-free life after coming out of jails.

 

সংশোধনাগারের বন্দিদের  স্বাবলম্বী করতে উদ্যোগী হল কারা দপ্তর

দমদম কেন্দ্রীয় সংশোধনাগারের আবাসিকদের স্বাবলম্বী করতে উদ্যোগী হল ন্যাশনাল জুট বোর্ড ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থা।

এই দুই সংস্থার যৌথ উদ্যোগে দমদম কেন্দ্রীয় সংশোধনাগারের বন্দিদের পাটের ব্যাগ তৈরীর প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হচ্ছে। তাদের তৈরী জিনিসপত্রের বাজারে ভালো চাহিদা রয়েছে ।

৪ মাস ধরে রাজ্যের তিনটি সংশোধনাগারের ২৫ জন আবাসিককে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হচ্ছে। তাদের মধ্যে ১৫ জন দমদম কেন্দ্রীয় সংশোধনাগারের আবাসিক, ৫ জন বহরমপুর ও ৫ জন জলপাইগুড়ির সংশোধনাগারে আবাসিক রয়েছে।

সকাল ১১ টা থেকে ৪ টে অবধি আবাসিকদের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়। তাদের তৈরী সামগ্ৰী জেল ডিপোতে বিক্রি হচ্ছে। বিভিন্ন মেলায় তাদের তৈরী জিনিসের স্টল দেওয়া হয়েছে ফলে ভালো সাড়া মিলেছে।

সংশোধনাগারের আবাসিকদের ক্রিকেট ও ফুটবল দল  রয়েছে।  তারা থিয়েটারে অভিনয়ও করছে। আবাসিকদের মুড়ি ও ফিনাইল তৈরীর প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়াহচ্ছে। মহিলা বন্দিদের সেলাইয়ের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হচ্ছে। বন্দিদশা কাটিয়ে তারা যাতে সমাজে সুস্থ ভাবে ফিরে যেতে পারে , সেই জন্যই এই প্রয়াস।

মেদিনীপুর  সংশোধনাগারের কিছু পুরুষ বন্দিকে কাঠের কাজের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হচ্ছে। অনেক আবার ইউনিফর্ম  তৈরী করছে। এইরকম প্রায় ১৫০ জন সংশোধনাগারের আবাসিককে স্বাবলম্বী হওয়ার জন্য প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হছে ।

এই ধরনের কাজ তাদের আরও উৎসাহ দিচ্ছে এবং তাদের মন থেকে অপরাধপ্রবণতা মুছে দেওয়ার সবরকম চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে।

Soon, Bengal will be among the first few states to complete the rural electrification project successfully.  Come June and the project will witness completion with state Power minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay laying emphasis that the rural electrification work is all set to be complete as soon as infrastructure in four villages of Sunderban area gets over.

This apart, the electrification work is more or less complete throughout the state. “Infrastructural works have been going on in four islands. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June this year. The Power department has been facing hurdles in some parts as many villagers were reluctant to get an electricity connection due to financial constraints. Despite the challenges, the state government will achieve 100 percent electricity coverage by June,” the Minister added.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after coming to the power, had asked the power department to provide electricity to the entire Sunderbans area through power grid. Banerjee had taken a pledge to electrify each and every village across the state. The state government is trying hard to resolve the issues with the involvement of local panchayat functionaries and the zilla parishads.

According to West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), state’s nodal distribution agency, the total number of subscribers has gone up to 1.72 crore from around 88 lakh in 2011. A few years ago, the pace of electrification work in Bengal was quite slow in comparison to the other states in the country but Trinamool government has done a major revamp in infrastructure development.

 

রাজ্যে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হবে জুন মাসে

খুব শীঘ্রই গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরন প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পন্ন করবে বাংলা। আগামী জুন মাসেই শেষ হবে সেই কাজ। যত তাড়াতাড়ি এই কাজ সম্পন্ন করা যায় তার ওপর জোর দিচ্ছেন বিদ্যু९ মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়। সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলের চার’টি গ্রামে বিদ্যুতের পরিকাঠামো তৈরীর কাজ শেষ হলেই এই প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হবে।

এ ছাড়া রাজ্যের অন্যান্য জায়গাতেও এই প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় শেষ। মন্ত্রী জানান, “এই চার’টি জায়গায় পরিকাঠামো তৈরীর কাজ চলছে, আশা করা হচ্ছে এই বছরের জুন মাসের শেষের দিকে এই কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে। অর্থনৈতিক কারনে অনেক গ্রামবাসীই বিদ্যুতের ব্যাপারে আগ্রহী নন তাই বিদ্যু९ দপ্তরকে বেশ কিছু বাধার সম্মুখীন হতে হচ্ছে। তবু এত বাধা সত্ত্বেও আগামী জুনের মধ্যেই রাজ্যের ১০০ শতাংশ অঞ্চলে পৌঁছে যাবে বিদ্যু९।”

ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল সরকার পাওয়ার গ্রিডের মাধ্যমে পুরো সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলে বিদ্যু९ পৌঁছে দিতে উদ্যোগী হয়। রাজ্য সরকার পঞ্চায়েত ও জেলা পারিষদদের সহযোগিতায় এই কাজ দ্রুতগতিতে শেষ করতে চাইছে।

রাজ্য বিদ্যুত পর্ষদের তথ্য অনুযায়ী বিদ্যু९ গ্রাহকের সংখ্যা বেড়ে এই মুহূর্তে হয়েছে প্রায় ১.৭২ কোটি যা ২০১১পর্যন্ত ছিল মাত্র ৮৮ লক্ষ। কিছু বছর আগে পর্যন্ত রাজ্যে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ ছিল অন্যান্য রাজ্যের তুলনায় খুবই মন্থর  গতির। কিন্তু তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস রাজ্যের দায়িত্ব পাওয়ার পর থেকে এই পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের কাজে এসেছে এক নতুন গতি।

The West Bengal State Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society Limited, selling its products under the brand name, Tantuja, has announced its partnership with Amazon to enter the US market. This is the first expansion of Tantuja into the global stage. Through the e-commerce portal, Tantuja would sell sarees in USA.

Amazon is a pioneer in global e-commerce space with over 20 years of experience.

Tantuja has been selling handloom products crafted by local artisans and weavers of Bengal on the portal since last year. The brand has seen excellent response from customers across the country. This association with Amazon will help the co-operative society satisfy the huge global demand for traditional Indian products.

The West Bengal State Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society, after being rejuvenated through the personal initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has enabled thousands of local weavers, artisans and craftsmen to get direct access to customers while ensuring that they get the right value for their offerings.

The Trinamool Congress Government has been giving special thrust to the textile sector of Bengal, which has a huge potential. Among other things, the Biswa Bangla brand has been created as an umbrella brand to sell the textile and handicrafts of the State, through the Biswa Bangla-branded showrooms.

 

এবার মার্কিন মুলুকেও পাওয়া যাবে বাংলার তন্তুজর শাড়ি

অ্যামাজনের সাথে চুক্তি করল দি ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল স্টেট হ্যান্ডলুম উইভারস কোঅপারেটিভ সোসাইটি লিমিটেড যারা নিজেদের তৈরি সামগ্রী বিক্রি করে তন্তুজ’র নামে। এর ফলে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রেও এবার পাওয়া যাবে বাংলার শাড়ি। এই প্রথম বিশ্ব বাজারে পাড়ি দেওয়ার উদ্যোগ নিল তন্তুজ।

বাংলার তাঁতিদের তৈরি শাড়ি ও অন্যান্য বস্ত্রসামগ্রী অনলাইনে ই-কমার্সের মাধ্যমে তন্তুজ বিক্রি করছে গত বছর থেকে। সারা দেশ থেকে মিলেছে ব্যাপক সাড়া। এবার অ্যামাজনের সঙ্গে চুক্তিবদ্ধ হয়ে তন্তুজ মেটাবে আন্তর্জাতিক চাহিদা।

Trinamool Chairperson and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today teared into the BJP at party’s organisational polls. Slamming the ruling party at Centre she said that It is the need of the hour for all regional parties to come together for the sake of the nation. Didi said, my message to all regional parties is ‘Be Together, Be United’.

She said, “Trinamool is targeted because we speak for the common people. How many leaders will you put in jails? I dare you to arrest all our MPs, Ministers, MLAs. They are carrying out malicious propaganda. Wherever I go, London, Puri or Delhi, they send workers to disrupt.”

The Chairperson added, “Who are you to decide what a person can eat or wear? Trinamool works for people of all castes, creed, religions. I believe I am a worker of the party. In Trinamool, workers and not leaders are the biggest assets.”

BJP is dividing people based on religious identities. We respect all religions but humanism is our biggest identity. They (BJP) have destroyed the democratic culture of the country with their vindictive politics and vendetta,” Didi said.

Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the BJP for indulging in divisive politics. She said, “Religion means peace and harmony. But BJP gave arms to children during their rally. BJP only believes in conspiracies not rule of law.

I am proud of my religion. I am proud of all religions. Hinduism means tolerance. BJP is defaming Hinduism. Riots cannot be religion. Religion unites people, does not divide them. Be proud of the land you are born in. This is our motherland. We are proud of it.”

She told party workers that the next two years as a challenge. “We have to fight against the malicious propaganda and conspiracies. They are bringing cadres from other States to incite trouble in Bengal. We have to be very careful,” Didi added.

She also took on the BJP for their malicious propaganda on social media. “BJP spends crores on social media. They put fake photos and distort my words. We have to counter them. They post photos and videos of Bangladesh and say it is Bengal. They are spreading rumours.”

She also reiterated that Trinamool will continue to fight for the people. “As a political party we have a responsibility. We have to fight valiantly. We will not tolerate politics of vindictiveness. India is a vast country with a lot of diversity. We will not allow politics of ‘Divide & Rule’. Let us stand for unity,” was her message.

She slammed the BJP for destroying the federal structure of the country. She maintained the voice of the press-media has been muzzled by the Centre.

আজ তৃণমূলের সাংগঠনিক নির্বাচনের অনুষ্ঠানমঞ্চ থেকে আরও একবার বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগলেন তৃণমূলের সভানেত্রী ও বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এদিন তিনি বলেন দেশের স্বার্থে আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির একজোট হওয়া প্রয়োজন। সব সব আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির প্রতি দিদির বার্তা ” এক হও, একজোট হও”।

তিনি বলেন, “তৃণমূলকে বারবার টার্গেট করা হয় কারণ তারা সাধারণ মানুষের হয়ে কথা বলে। কত জন নেতাদের ওরা জেলে পাঠাবে? ওদের সাহস থাকলে আমাদের সব সাংসদ, বিধায়ক, নেতা মন্ত্রীদের গ্রেফতার করুক”।

সভানেত্রী আরও বলেন, “মানুষ কি খাবে, কি পরবে সেটা ওরা ঠিক করার কে? তৃণমূল সব ধর্মের, সব জাতির মানুষের জন্য কাজ করে। আমি মনে করি আমি দলের একজন কর্মী। নেতারা নয়, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের কর্মীরাই দলের বড় সম্পদ”।

বিভাজনের রাজনীতি করার জন্য এদিন বিজেপির উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, “ধর্ম মানে শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি। অথচ বিজেপির মিছিলে ছোট শিশুদের হাতে অস্ত্র তুলে দিচ্ছে। মানুষের মধ্যে বিভেদ সৃষ্টি করছে বিজেপি। আমরা সব ধর্মকে শ্রদ্ধা করি কিন্তু মানবিকতাই আমাদের প্রধান পরিচয়। কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার করে ওরা দেশের গণতন্ত্র ও সংস্কৃতিকে ধ্বংস করে দিচ্ছে।

বিজেপি শুধু চক্রান্ত ও ষড়যন্ত্র করে। ওরা দেশের যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় কাঠামো ধ্বংস করছে। প্রেস মিডিয়া ওদের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলছে না, ওদের কণ্ঠ রোধ করে দিয়েছে।

আমি আমার ধর্মের জন্য গর্বিত। হিন্দুধর্ম মানে সহনশীলতা। বিজেপি হিন্দুধর্মকে অপমান করছে। দাঙ্গা কখনো ধর্ম হতে পারে না। ধর্ম মানুষকে জোরে, ভাগ করে না।

আপনি যে মাটিতে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছেন সেই দেশের জন্য গর্বিত হোন। এটা আমাদের মাতৃভূমি”।

দলীয় কর্মীদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি বলেন, “ওদের কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার ও চক্রান্তের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের রুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে। অন্য রাজ্য থেকে লোক নিয়ে এসে ওরা বাংলায় সমস্যার সৃষ্টি করছে। আমাদের আরও সতর্ক হতে হবে। সোশ্যাল মিডিয়াতে কোটি কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে বিজেপি। জাল ফটো দেয় আর আমার কথাকে বিকৃত করে। ওদের মোকাবিলা করতে হবে। বাংলাদেশের ফটো, ভিডিও পোস্ট করে তা বাংলার বলে চালায়। গুজব ছড়াচ্ছে ওরা, ওতে কান দেবেন না”।

তাঁর বার্তা, “রাজনৈতিক দল হিসেবে আমাদের কিছু দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য আছে। সাহসিকতার সঙ্গে আমাদের এই লড়াই চালিয়ে যেতে হবে। প্রতিহিংসাপরায়ণ রাজনীতি আমরা বরদাস্ত করব না ভারত বৈচিত্র্যময় দেশ। আমরা কাউকে বিভাজনের রাজনীতি করতে দেব না। আসুন আমরা এক হই”।

The Bengal Government has set a record in the 100 Days’ Work Scheme by creating 33 per cent more man-days during financial year 2016-17, the highest increase in the country. Almost 24 crore more man-days were created during the year.

Another record was the number of women employed in the scheme, set up under MGNREGA. In the last financial year, 46.46 per cent of the workforce in Bengal comprised of women.

Enthused by this record-breaking performance, the Panchayats and Rural Development Department has set a target of 23 lakh man-days for financial year 2017-18.

Most of the workers were engaged in irrigation-related work. More people are planned to be engaged in this type of work in the next financial year.

Over the last few years, the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government has consistently performed well in the 100 Days’ Work Scheme and this is just the latest feather in the cap.

 

শ্রমদিবস বাড়িয়ে ১০০ দিনের কাজে ‘রেকর্ড’ গড়ল বাংলা

২০১৬-১৭ অর্থবর্ষে ৩৩ শতাংশ বেশি শ্রমদিবস তৈরী করে সারা দেশে ১০০ দিনের কাজে রেকর্ড গড়ল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার। উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে এই অর্থবর্ষে প্রায় ২৪ কোটি শ্রমদিবস তৈরী হয়েছে৷

নারীশক্তিরও ক্ষমতায়ন হয়েছে৷ তথ্য অনুযায়ী, গ্রামের কাজে পুরনো রেকর্ড ভেঙে এবারই বিগত বছরগুলির তুলনায় সর্বাধিক মহিলা MGNREGA প্রকল্পে কাজ পেয়েছেন৷ রাজ্যে পঞ্চায়েত ভোটের আগের বছরে নারী ক্ষমতায়নের নতুন নজির এটি৷ এবার নিযুক্ত মোট কর্মীর মধ্যে ৪৬.৪৬ শতাংশই মহিলা।

রাজ্যের সাফল্যের কারণে চলতি অর্থবর্ষে লক্ষ্যমাত্রাও বাড়ানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। ২০১৭-১৮ অর্থবর্ষে ২৩ কোটি শ্রমদিবস তৈরি করার ‘টার্গেট’ রয়েছে।

মূলত সেচের কাজে এই কর্মীদের যুক্ত করা হয়েছে৷ এবার আরও মানুষকে এই কাজে যুক্ত করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে রাজ্য।

গত কয়েক বছর ধরে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ১০০ দিনের প্রকল্পের কাজের ক্ষেত্রে ভালো পারফর্ম করছে এবং এরসঙ্গে এক নতুন পালক যোগ হল তার মুকুটে।

The organisational election of the Trinamool Congress was held today where Mamata Banerjee was unanimously elected the Chairperson of the party.

The programme was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Trinamool Congress was set up in 1998 and Mamata Banerjee has been elected the Chairperson of the party in 2001, 2006 and 2011 in the past. The next election will be held after 6 years.

Didi said she considers herself a worker of the party. Our workers are our biggest assets, she added.

আজ তৃণমূলের সাংগঠনিক নির্বাচনে দলের সর্বভারতীয় সভানেত্রী নির্বাচিত হন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

আজ নেতাজি ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়ামে দলের কর্মীদের উদ্দেশে বক্তব্য রাখেন তিনি। ১৯৯৮ সালে তৃণমূল দলটি তৈরী হওয়ার পর ২০০১, ২০০৬ ও ২০১১ সালে দলের সর্বভারতীয় সভানেত্রী নির্বাচিত হন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

দিদি বলেন তিনি দলের এক কর্মী মাত্র। দলের কর্মীরাই সবচেয়ে বড় সম্পদ।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the newly-constructed open air stage – Uttirna – at Alipore. Uttirna is a state-of-the-art open-air stage with the capacity to accommodate 1,968 people at a time and it is one of the dream projects of the Chief Minister.

Uttirna comprises a stage, green room, banquet hall, food court, media centre, cafetaria, conference room and other services. Uttirna is part of the ‘Dhana Dhanyo’ project being carried out by the Public Works Department.

The state government for the first time held a programme on the occasion of Civil Services Day at Uttirna today. It was be attended by officials of the West Bengal Civil Service, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service and dignitaries of the cultural field.

 

The salient points of Mamata Banerjee’s speech:

  • Our civil services cadets are like our family members. We are proud of them.
  • This place was a waste land before. We have turned it into an open-air theatre now.
  • Conferences and exhibitions can be held at Uttirna. It has a seating capacity of 2,000.
  • We are also building a stadium, ‘Dhana Dhanyo’ with a seating capacity of 3,000.
  • We are also setting up ‘Saujanya’ – a State Government guest house – at Hastings.
  • We respect all languages but we cannot forget our own language and our roots. We must respect Bengali.
  • We are setting up a convention centre of international standards at New Town. We have set up Mother’s Wax Museum there.
  • We have set up 41 multi super hospitals, 300 SNCUs, 60 SNSUs, polytechnics, ITIs, 66 colleges, 15 universities.
  • There is a lot of potential in Bengal. We want more IAS and IPS officers to come to the State.
  • We have registered 80,000 folk artistes under the Lok Prasar Scheme. We will register 1 lakh more artistes.
  • Health care is free in Bengal. Even private hospitals are covered under the Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
  • We have started paternity leaves for State Government employees.
  • Civil services cadets are sent to Singapore for training.
  • Civil services officers form the policy implementation groups of the State Government.
  • We have conducted over 160 meetings at the block level covering all the districts. This is a precedent for other States.
  • We have set up 26 helipads in the State.
  • We are setting up airports in Malda, Balurghat and Cooch Behar.
  • We are developing six theme cities across the State.
  • From day one, we have worked for e-governance. We received the Golden Peacock Award for e-services.
  • Scholarships like Kanyashree and Yuvashree, pensions and salaries are all paid online.
  • There are 716 villages in Bengal without banks or post offices, so we cannot insist on cashless payment there.
  • Eight crore people in Bengal receive rice at Rs 2 per kg.
  • We are bearing the burden of a huge debt. But still we are following FRBM and working for the people.
  • We need more and more civil services officers. They create employment opportunities for others.
  • Every year we will observe Civil Services Day at Uttirna.

 

আজ ‘উত্তীর্ণ’ মুক্তমঞ্চের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ আলিপুরে ‘উত্তীর্ণ’ মুক্তমঞ্চের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। ২০০০ আসন বিশিষ্ট এই ৫ তলা মুক্তমঞ্চটি পূর্ত দপ্তরের ‘ধন ধান্য’ প্রকল্পের অন্তর্গত।

‘উত্তীর্ণ’ তে থাকছে একটি স্টেজ, গ্রীন রুম, ব্যাংকোয়েট হল, কনফারেন্স রুম, মিডিয়া সেন্টার, ক্যাফেটেরিয়া, ফুড কোর্ট ও অন্যান্য পরিষেবা।

আজ ‘উত্তীর্ণ’ তে রাজ্য সরকার সিভিল সার্ভিস দিবস উদযাপন করে।

  • বাংলায় অনেক কাজের সুযোগ আছে। আমরা চাই আরও আইএএস, আইপিএস অফিসার আসুক রাজ্যে
  • ৮০ হাজার লোকশিল্পীকে আমরা লোক প্রসার প্রকল্পের আওতায় এনেছি, আরও ১ লক্ষের নাম নথিভুক্ত করা হবে
  • বাংলায় বিনামূল্যে স্বাস্থ্যপরিষেবা পাওয়া যায়। বেসরকারী হাসপাতালগুলিকেও স্বাস্থ্য সাথী প্রকল্পের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে
  • আমরা সরকারী কর্মীদের জন্য পিতৃত্বকালীন ছুটি চালু করেছি। সিভিল সার্ভিস কর্মীরদের প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য সিঙ্গাপুর পাঠানো হচ্ছে
  • সিভিল সার্ভিস কর্মীরাই নীতি বাস্তবায়ন করেন
  • বিভিন্ন জেলার ব্লকস্তরে আমরা ১৬০টি প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেছি। অন্য রাজ্যগুলির জন্য এটি একটি উদাহরণ
  • আমরা ২৬ টি হেলিপ্যাড তৈরী করেছি। মালদা, বালুরঘাট, কোচবিহার বিমানবন্দর তৈরী হচ্ছে
  • আমরা ৬ টি থিম সিটি তৈরী করছি
  • প্রথম দিন থেকে আমরা ই-গভরন্যান্স চালু করেছি। ই-সার্ভিসের জন্য আমরা গোল্ডেন পিকক অ্যাওয়ার্ড পেয়েছি
  • কন্যাশ্রী, যুবশ্রী, পেনশন, বেতন সব কিছু অনলাইন মাধ্যমে দেওয়া হচ্ছে
  • বাংলার ৭১৬টি গ্রামে ব্যাঙ্ক ও পোস্ট অফিস নেই। সেখানে ক্যাশলেস পেমেন্ট বাধ্যতামূলক করা যাবে না
  • বাংলার ৮ কোটি মানুষ ২ টাকা কেজি দরে চাল পাচ্ছেন
  • আমাদের মাথায় বিপুল ঋণের বোঝা। তাও আমরা মানুষের জন্য কাজ করে যাচ্ছি
  • আমাদের আরও সিভিল সার্ভিস কর্মী চাই। ওরা অনেক বেকার ছেলেমেয়েদের জন্য কর্মসংস্থান করেন
  • প্রত্যেক বছর আমরা উত্তীর্ণতেই সিভিল সার্ভিস দিবস উদযাপন করব

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday called on her Odisha counterpart Naveen Pattanaik in Bhubaneshwar.

Addressing the media following the meeting, she said that BJP is not a threat to regional parties and that the regional parties can together defeat the BJP. She also said that she wanted to strengthen the federal structure of the country.

The CM also slammed the BJP for indulging in “divisive” politics. She said: “They (BJP) wanted to divide the nation in the name of religion, region and caste. They pit Hindus against Muslims, Christians against Hindus, SC/STs against General caste. They are even dividing Hindus. We don’t do it. We want unity.”

Mamata Banerjee said that regional parties are always in contact. “It is a continuous process. We want to strengthen the federal structure in the country. All the States are important.”

বৃহস্পতিবার ভুবনেশ্বরে ওড়িশার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী নবীন পট্টনায়েকের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বিজেপি কোন থ্রেট নয়। আঞ্চলিক দলগুলি একসাথে ওদের (বিজেপি) হারাতে পারবে”।

বিজেপির বিভাজনের রাজনীতির নিন্দা করে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “ওরা জাতিধর্মের নামে বিভাজনের রাজনীতি করছে। মুসলমানদের বিরুদ্ধে হিন্দুদের, হিন্দুদের বিরুদ্ধে খ্রিস্টানদের, জেনারেল কাস্টের বিরুদ্ধে SC/ST-দের উত্তক্ত করছে। এমনকি হিন্দুদের মধ্যেও ওরা বিভেদ সৃষ্টির চেষ্টা করছে। আমরা এসব করি না। আমরা একতায় বিশ্বাস করি”।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আঞ্চলিক দলগুলি সব সময় একে অপরের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ রাখে। এটি একটি ধারাবাহিক প্রক্রিয়া। আমরা চাই দেশের যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় কাঠামো আরও শক্তিশালী হোক। সব রাজ্যই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ”।

The Bengal Government will soon export 1,000 Mega Watt (MW) electricity to various neighbouring countries including Nepal and Bhutan. Meanwhile, the capacity of the export of electricity to Bangladesh will also be increased.

The power plants in Bengal have been generating nearly around 7,000 MW of electricity every day on an average and private power plants around 11,000 MW.  During peak hours, the state needs nearly 9,000 MW a day. Bengal ranks second after Maharashtra in terms of production of electricity without the assistance of the Centre.

Bengal is among the few Indian states to have surplus power which is a major achievement as it has been viewed by many. Production of power in the State has gone up in the last few years.

 

নেপাল, ভুটানে ১০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করবে বাংলা

শীঘ্রই নেপাল ও ভুটান সহ বিভিন্ন প্রতিবেশী দেশগুলোকে ১০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করবে রাজ্য সরকার। এর পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশে বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহের পরিমাণও বৃদ্ধি করা হবে।

বাংলার সরকারী পাওয়ার প্ল্যান্ট গুলি প্রতিদিনে প্রায় ৭০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন করে এবং বেসরকারী পাওয়ার প্ল্যান্ট গুলি প্রতিদিনে প্রায় ১১০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন করে। একটি কর্মব্যস্ত দিনে প্রায় ৯০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ প্রয়োজন রাজ্যের।  কেন্দ্রের সহযোগিতা ছাড়া বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলার স্থান (দ্বিতীয়) মহারাষ্ট্রের পরেই।

ভারতবর্ষের কয়েকটি মাত্র রাজ্যের মধ্যে বাংলা একটি যেখানে পাওয়ার সারপ্লাস আছে যা নিঃসন্দেহে একটি বড় অ্যাচিভমেন্ট। গত কয়েক বছরে রাজ্যের বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনও বেড়েছে।
