Trinamool Congress swept the bypolls held for the Tamluk and Coochbehar Lok Sabha constituencies and the Monteswar Assembly constituency. Polling was conducted at these constituencies on November 19.

Trinamool won the Monteshwar Assembly seat by a margin 1,27,127 votes. The party won Tamluk Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 4,97,525 votes and Cooch Behar by a margin of 4,13,231 votes.

“This is a verdict against the Tughlaqi Govt at Centre. This is a verdict in favour of mass protests against demonetisation,” Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee said.

The by-election in Cooch Behar was necessitated by the death of TMC MP Renuka Sinha while the by-election in Tamluk in Purba Medinipur district was caused by the resignation of MP Suvendu Adhikari who joined the state cabinet as transport minister. The by-polls to Monteswar Assembly seat in Burdwan district is due to death of TMC MLA Sajal Panja.

১৯শে নভেম্বর হয়ে যাওয়া ২টি লোকসভা ও ১টি বিধানসভা আসনে উপনির্বাচনে দাপটের সঙ্গে জয়লাভ করলো তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস।

মন্তেশ্বর আসনে ১,২৭,১২৭ ভোটে জয়লাভ করেন তৃণমূল প্রার্থী। তমলুক আসনে তৃণমূলের জয়ের ব্যবধান ৪,৯৭,৫২৫ ভোট। কুচবিহার কেন্দ্রে তৃণমূল ৪,১৩,২৩১ ভোটে জয়লাভ করেন।

“মানুষের এই রায় গণ বিদ্রোহের রায়। নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে এই রায়। কেন্দ্রের তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে এই রায়,” প্রতিক্রিয়া মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের।

কুচবিহারের তৃণমূল সাংসদ রেণুকা সিনহার আকস্মিক মৃত্যুতে ওই আসনটি খালি হয়ে গেছিল। পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের তমলুক কেন্দ্রের সাংসদ শুভেন্দু অধিকারী, ২০১৬-র বিধানসভা ভোটে জিতে রাজ্য মন্ত্রিসভায় যোগ দেওয়ার পর ওই আসনটিও খালি হয়ে যায়। মন্তেশ্বর বিধানসভা কেন্দ্রের বিধায়ক সজল পাঁজার আকস্মিক মৃত্যুতে ওই কেন্দ্রটিও খালি হয়।

Trinamool MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today protested at the entrance of Parliament today raising slogans against the ‘financial emergency’ unleashed by Centre due to demonetisation.

Wearing placards saying ‘Financial Emergency’ the MPs demanded rollback of demonetisation and asked the Centre to bring back all the black money stashed abroad.

‘Modi Sarkar Financial Emergency Vapas Lo, Vapas Lo’, ‘Tanashahi nahin chalegi’ and ‘Videsh se kala dhan vapas lao, vapas lao’ were some of the slogans raised by the MPs.

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের নোট বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে দেশে যে অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা তৈরী হয়েছে তার প্রতিবাদে প্রতিবাদে তৃণমূল সাংসদরা আজ সংসদের প্রবেশ দ্বারে বিক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করেন।

সাংসদরা দাবি করেন নোট বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত ফিরিয়ে নেওয়া হোক ও বিদেশ থেকে সব কালো টাকা ফেরত নিয়ে আসা হোক।

“অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা” লেখা প্ল্যাকার্ড গলায় ঝুলিয়ে তারা “মোদী সরকার ফিনান্সিয়াল ইমার্জেন্সি বাপাস লো বাপাস লো”, “তানশাহী নেহি চলেগি”, “বিদেশ সে কালা ধন বাপাস লাও, বাপাস লাও” সহ আরও অনেক স্লোগান দেন।

Yesterday the demonetisation discussion happened in the Rajya Sabha without the prime minister being present. What changed today?

We obviously prefer the prime minister to be there for the discussion. Yesterday was day one of the debate, today is day two. That’s the minimum. Even speeches will not help now. This has now become a people’s movement. Mamatadi has fought many battles for the people. This government has to act.

Today Mamata Banerjee gave the government three days to roll back its move. What will happen after that?

Within one hour of the announcement on November 8 , Mamatadi’s instincts and her understanding of grassroots politics made her respond quickly to the impending calamity. It is time for action now. People are suffering. In the next three days something serious has to be done. Otherwise this people’s movement will intensify. Things could spiral out of control. If you deprive people of money, food and baby food, you could have a civil uprising on your hands.

Is your party going to push for a vote?

We want a vote in both Houses because this is the time to stand up and be counted. We will do all that can be done within the parliamentary mechanism to raise this issue. Some parties want a joint parliamentary committee. They are entitled to their view and we respect their view . Even on Singur a decade ago, our view was our view. Today many parties and even the Supreme Court share our view…

When will Rajya Sabha function?

Different parties have different views on how to approach the subject. The name of my party is Trinamool which means grassroots. Our thinking and actions are guided by what we can do to reduce her suffering, her pain. Restore normalcy. This has gone beyond the stage of “inconvenience”.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal skipped your march, yet West Bengal CM Banerjee went for his meeting.

Nothing like that. This is not some ego battle. Let’s focus on the task at hand: how to restore normalcy after this government rolled out a scheme in haste. The two CMs jointly addressed a huge gathering at the sabzi mandi. Mamata Banerjee is willing to work with all for this cause. She called the CPM general secretary, we walked with parties to Rashtrapati Bhawan. We don’t mind being in the third row. It’s about solving a problem.

Sir, I first want to thank you. Yesterday, you admitted all the notices of all the opposition parties. Even though my notice was the first, we could not speak because as you know we had a programme outside. All the opposition parties expressed their views, they had different views, many, many objections – but the objective is the same.

Now many other opposition parties are left to speak. Many have spoken yesterday. This discussion continued the whole of yesterday. We have a different view. We think that beyond the debate there should be a voting. But that’s my party’s view; others may not agree with the view.

The person who made this announcement at 8 O’clock on the 8th of November, where is he? Even if he’s here, we want a vote on this.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the Centre, urging it to withdraw the decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. She was addressing a rally at Azadpur Mandi in Delhi, where Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was also present.

In her speech, she highlighted the sad plight of the general public due to the sudden move of demonetisation. Mamata Banerjee said that before the election, the ruling party had said “good days are on their way”, while in reality, the poor are in tears. People have run out of supply of vegetables, she said, while accusing the Centre of inaction despite the plight of the people.

The Bengal Chief Minister pointed out that there has been a huge loss in GDP due to the Centre’s sudden decision. She referred to her interaction with the Punjabi community which has suffered a huge loss in the transportation sector. All the trucks carrying food and other goods are stalled at State borders, she said. She pointed out that the farmers have nothing to do and nothing to eat.

“Every day, the Government is coming out with new rules. This is an economic emergency and the entire country is suffering”, the CM said.

The Bengal Chief Minister strongly criticised the move by the Centre to mark the fingers of the common people who are depositing money with indelible ink and said that the people will blacken the Centre’s face for the mistrust being shown towards them. She maintained that joint parliamentary committees (JPC) are useless as seven such JPCs have been formed till date, none of which have yielded any results.

The Bengal Chief Minister pointed out that the Central ministers spend so much time in foreign countries that they have forgotten the country. She stated that the ruling party is out of sync with reality as it is talking about plastic economy. She also questioned the BJP on funds received from unknown sources.

Mamata Banerjee added that Trinamool Congress will cooperate with the Central Government if it is serious about bringing back black money from foreign countries. She also demanded to know what steps the Government is going to take regarding non-performing assets (NPA) of banks.

The Bengal Chief Minister said she has the people’s support in her struggle, which has made her fearless. The Chief Minister reiterated that it was not an ego battle; this is a fight for the people, she maintained. “We will not allow them to sell the country, we will not allow poor people to suffer”, said Mamata Banerjee while concluding her speech.

 

 

নোট বাতিল ইস্যুতে আজাদপুরে কেন্দ্রকে তুলোধোনা করলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

৫০০ ও ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিলের ইস্যুতে আজ একটি জনসভার আয়োজন করে আম আদমি পার্টি। মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং দিল্লির মুখ্যমন্ত্রী অরবিন্দ কেজরিওয়াল  ভাষণ দেন এই জনসভায়।

জনসভাটি হয় দিল্লির সবচেয়ে বড় সবজি ও ফলের পাইকারি বাজার আজাদপুর মাণ্ডিতে।

কেন্দ্রের এই হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত প্রত্যাহারের দাবি জানিয়ে গতকাল রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়ের দ্বারস্থ হন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং একটি স্মারকলিপিও জমা দেন।

  • পাঞ্জাবী কমিউনিটি আমায় জানিয়েছে পরিবহন ব্যবস্থা সমস্যার সম্মুখীন, সব ট্রাক আটকে রয়েছে
  • কৃষকরা কি করবেন? তারা কি খাবেন? প্রত্যেকদিন সরকার নতুন নতুন নিয়ম আনছে। এটা কি তামাশা হচ্ছে?
  • নোট বাতিল সমস্যা অর্থনৈতিক বিপর্যয়ের সমান। সমগ্র দেশ এই সমস্যায় জেরবার
  • ওরা চায় সাধারণ মানুষের হাতে কালি লাগিয়ে দিতে। মানুষ ওদের মুখে কালি দেবে
  • ওরা মনে করে সবাই চোর আর ওরা সাধু
  • আজ অবধি সাতটা জেপিসি গঠিত হয়েছে কিন্তু কোনো ফল হয়নি
  • ওরা বিদেশে গিয়ে দেশের কথা ভুলে যাচ্ছে
  • ওরা প্লাস্টিক অর্থব্যবস্থার কথা বলছে। ওরা দেশের অবস্থা জানে না
  • কেন্দ্র সংবিধান বিরোধী কাজ করছে। দেশে জরুরি অবস্থার চেয়েও খারাপ অবস্থা
  • বিজেপি বলুক অজানা উৎস থেকে কত টাকা পেয়েছে তারা পার্টি তহবিলে?
  • কালো টাকা ওরা ফিরিয়ে আনুক বিদেশ থেকে। আমরা ওদের সাথে সহযোগিতা করব
  • ব্যাঙ্কগুলির নন-পারফর্মিং অ্যাসেট এর ব্যাপারে কি পদক্ষেপ নিচ্ছে কেন্দ্র
  • মানুষ আমাদের সাথে আছে। আমরা কাউকে ভয় পাইনা
  • এটা অহংকারের লড়াই নয়, এটা মানুষের লড়াই। আমরা লড়তে ভয় পাই না
  • আমরা লড়াই করি। আমাদের দমানো যাবে না। আমাদের জেলে পুড়লেও না, গুলি করে মেরে ফেললেও না
  • সরকারের উচিত আরও টাকার যোগান দেওয়া। বাজার খোলার জন্য ওদের পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া উচিত
  • আমরা ওদের দেশকে বিকিয়ে দিতে দেবনা। সাধারণ মানুষকে আর কষ্ট সহ্য করতে দেবনা

Trinamool Congress today urged the Centre to withdraw the draconian decision of demonetisation for the time being and give people some breathing space.

Trinamool voiced its concerns about this ‘financial emergency’ at an All-Party Meeting ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament. Sudip Bandyopadhyay (Leader of the party in Lok Sabha) and Derek O’Brien (Leader of the party in Rajya Sabha) represented Trinamool at the meeting.

“Trinamool was the first party to submit a Suspension Notice in Rajya Sabha on November 10. We are happy other parties followed us,” Sudip Bandyopadhyay said.

“We outlined the suffering of the common people due to demonetisation. We maintained that a proper plan of action is needed before proceeding. This is a hasty, unprepared decision” he added.

“Trinamool is not in favour of black money. We are the first party to wear black shawls in Parliament as a mark of protest,” said the veteran leader.

Trinamool also raised the issues of surgical strike in Jammu & Kashmir, federalism, state funding of elections and OROP implementation at the meet. The party also demanded that the Citizenship Bill be withdrawn.

As the All Party Meet began, Sudip Bandyopadhyay announced that Trinamool Congress has now been recognised as a National Party. This announcement was greeted with thumping of desks by representatives of all parties.

 

নোট বাতিলের এই হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত অবিলম্বে প্রত্যাহার করা উচিতঃ সর্বদল বৈঠকে তৃণমূল

আজ সর্বদল বৈঠকে নোট বাতিলের এই হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্তকে প্রত্যাহার করার এবং সাধারণ মানুষকে আর কিছু সময় দেওয়ার আর্জি জানিয়েছে তৃণমূল।

সংসদের শীতকালীন অধিবেশনের আগে সর্বদল বৈঠকে দেশে অর্থনৈতিক জরুরী অবস্থা চলছে বলে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে তৃণমূল। লোকসভার দলনেতা সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং রাজ্যসভার দলনেতা ডেরেক ও ব্রায়েন তৃণমূলের প্রতিনিধি হিসাবে বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস প্রথম দল যারা রাজ্য সভায় সাসপেনশন নোটিস দিয়েছে। আমরা খুশি যে অন্য দলেরাও আমাদের অনুসরণ করেছে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “নোট বাতিলের জন্য সাধারণ মানুষের চরম ভোগান্তি হচ্ছে। এই প্রক্রিয়া চালু করার আগে একটি সঠিক পরিকল্পনা করার প্রয়োজন ছিল। এটা একটা হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত”।

সাংসদ জানান, “তৃণমূল কালো টাকার পক্ষে নয়। আমরাই প্রথম দল যারা সংসদে কালো শাল গায়ে দিয়ে কালো টাকার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছে”।

এদিন সর্বদল বৈঠকে জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরে সার্জিক্যাল স্ট্রাইকের ইস্যু, যুক্ত রাষ্ট্রীয় পরিকাঠামো, নির্বাচনী সংস্কার, ওআরওপি বাস্তবায়ন এই সব বিষয়ও উত্থাপিত করে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। এদিন নাগরিকত্ব বিল প্রত্যাহার করার দাবিও জানায় তৃণমূল।

সর্বদল বৈঠক শুরু হওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় জানান, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস এখন জাতীয় দল হিসাবে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে। এই ঘোষণার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সব দলের প্রতিনিধিরা তাদের অভিনন্দন জানান।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she will be meeting the President of India tomorrow, no matter what.

“Old Rs 500/1000 notes are being allowed in railways, petrol pumps. NHAI too have been exempted. But no exemption for state sector agriculture, co-operatives… No exemption for patients in private hospitals, nursing homes or for non-prescription medicines. Why this discrimination? The situation is serious. Very grim. People are suffering. We will meet the Hon. President tomorrow, no matter what,” Mamata Banerjee tweeted.

The Bengal Chief Minister lashed out at the Government’s decision to mark the depositors with indelible ink.

“Desperate attempt to start a ‘black mechanism’ with indelible ink shows this Govt distrusts the common people… Also, there are by-elections on Nov 19. What will the EC say about this decision to put indelible on prospective voters?” the Bengal CM tweeted.

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় জানান, আগামীকাল নোট বাতিল সমস্যা নিয়ে তিনি রাষ্ট্রপতির সঙ্গে দেখা করবেন।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় টুইট করে বলেন, “পুরনো ৫০০ এবং ১০০০ টাকার নোট রেল এবং পেট্রোল পাম্প, ন্যাশনাল হাইওয়েতে নেওয়া হচ্ছে। রাজ্য সরকারের অধীন কৃষিক্ষেত্র  ও সমবায়কে কোন ছাড় দেওয়া হয়নি কেন? বেসরকারি হাসপাতাল, নার্সিং হোমে রোগীদের জন্য ওষুধে কোন ছাড় নেই। কেন এই বৈষম্য? পরিস্থিতি খুবই সংকটজনক ও ভয়াবহ। সাধারণ মানুষ এর জন্য চরম সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হচ্ছেন। আমরা আগামীকাল যেভাবেই হোক রাষ্ট্রপতির সঙ্গে দেখা করব”।

নোট বদলের পর হাতে কালি লাগানোর কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্তকে কটাক্ষ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের উদ্দেশে তাঁর টুইট, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার কি মানুষকে বিশ্বাস পর্যন্ত করে না? সাধারণ মানুষের হাতের কালি এবারে ওদের মুখে পড়বে। আগামী ১৯ নভেম্বর উপ-নির্বাচন। নির্বাচন কমিশন সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্তকে কি বলবেন?”

Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee once again criticised the Prime Minister for Centre’s demonetisation move on Monday. She said that the move has hit the poor of country badly, adding that the statement issued by PM is “bad in taste”.

“The PM in his speech had said the poor are sleeping peacefully. This is an insult to commoners and in bad taste. My humble suggestion is not to hit the common people like this ,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee had earlier given a call for a “joint movement” by Opposition parties against the Centre to give people some respite from the ongoing “financial anarchy” that has been caused due to the decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.

On Sunday, she had tweeted: “This is not an ego battle. I humbly appeal again to the Govt at the Centre. Save the common people from more suffering,and the country from financial catastrophe, by withdrawing this hasty decision. First please put a proper action plan in place. Breathing space for people. Today I spoke with several political leaders regarding a joint movement and to meet Rashtrapati Ji together. Let us all fight this together to give relief to common citizens, the poor and stop this financial anarchy.”

Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday appealed to everyone, specially the younger generation to assist the elderly, physically challenged, pregnant women, labourers, farmers and workers in bank queues.

He wrote: “I urge everyone, especially the younger generation and all brothers and sisters of our state, to do our bit in assisting the elderly, the physically challenged, pregnant women, labourers, farmers, workers and all those who are very worried and do not know how to fill bank forms and physically lack the strength to stand in long queues.

Please reach out and help them. Let us help each other irrespective of caste, creed, religion and political affinity. Try and make drinking water arrangements outside ATMs and bank branches with the consent and approval central/state/local authorities. There’s no bigger religion in the world than HUMANITY.

Let’s rise up and do our bit for a better tomorrow.”

 

মানুষের পাশে থাকার আবেদন অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের

রবিবার অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সবার কাছে বিশেষভাবে তরুণ প্রজন্মকে মানুষের পাশে থাকার আবেদন জানান। বৃদ্ধ, শারীরিকভাবে প্রতিবন্ধী, গর্ভবতী নারী ব্যাংক লাইনে দাঁড়িয়ে কৃষক ও শ্রমিকদের সহায়তা করার আবেদন জানান তরুণ প্রজন্মকে।

তিনি বলেন, “আমি সকলকে আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি, বিশেষ করে রাজ্যের যুবসমাজকে, যে তারা যেন জাতি, ধর্ম, রাজনৈতিক মতভেদ অগ্রাহ্য করে বয়স্কদের, প্রতিবন্ধিদের, গর্ভবতী মহিলাদের, শ্রমিকদের, চাষীদের এবং বাকি সকলকে যাদের লম্বা লাইনে দাঁড়ানোর ক্ষমতা নেই কিংবা যাদের ব্যাঙ্ক ফর্ম ভরার পদ্ধতি জানা নেই, উপযুক্ত সাহায্য করে। ওদেরকে এটিএম-র এবং ব্যঙ্কের বাইরে, উপযুক্ত প্রশাসনিক সম্মতি নিয়ে, পানীয় জলের সুব্যাবস্থা রাখার আর্জি জানাচ্ছি। পৃথিবীতে মনুষ্যত্বের চেয়ে বড় আর কোনো ধর্ম নেই।

On Sunday, Trinamool Chairperson and Bengal Chief Minister said Mamata Banerjee said she spoke to the President of India on the issue of demonetisation and he has kindly consented to meet her and leaders of other Opposition parties on November 16 or 17.

Mamata Banerjee gave a call for a “joint movement” by Opposition parties against the Centre to give people some respite from the ongoing “financial anarchy” that has been caused due to the decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.

She later tweeted: “The Hon President was kind enough to take my call now. I briefed him about how common people are suffering because of demonetization. I thank him for agreeing to meet reps of political parties on Nov 16 or 17 where we will brief him in detail on the grim situation.”

She also spoke to leaders of various parties and requested them to accompany her to meet the President.

In another tweet Mamata Banerjee stated: “This is not an ego battle. I humbly appeal again to the Govt at the Centre. Save the common people from more suffering,and the country from financial catastrophe, by withdrawing this hasty decision. 1st pl put a proper action plan in place.Breathing space for people. Today I spoke with several political leaders regarding a joint movement and to meet Rashtrapati Ji together. Let us all fight this together to give relief to common citizens, the poor and stop this financial anarchy.”

নোট নিয়ে তাঁর তীব্র প্রতিবাদ এবার তিনি ভারতের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে ছড়িয়ে দিতে চান। তিনি চান দেশ জুড়ে বিরোধী ঐক্য গড়ে তুলতে। তাই এবার কোমর বেঁধে ময়দানে নামলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। তাঁর প্রতিবাদে সামিল হতে সব বিরোধী দলের কাছে আবেদনও জানিয়েছেন তিনি। সমস্ত দলের প্রতিনিধিদের নিয়ে তিনি রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখার্জির সঙ্গেও দেখা করতে চেয়ে রবিবার রাষ্ট্রপতিকে ফোনও করেন। সময় পেয়েছেন। আগামী বুধবার দুপুর দেড়টায় মমতা ব্যানার্জি যাবেন রাষ্ট্রপতির কাছে। মমতার সঙ্গে ফোনে কথা হয়েছে বেশ কয়েকজন বিরোধী নেতার।

মমতা ব্যানার্জি রবিবার টুইট করে জানিয়েছেন, ব্যাঙ্ক ও এ টি এমের সামনে টাকা তোলার জন্য যাঁরা লাইন দিয়েছেন, তাঁদের অপমান করা হচ্ছে। তিনি এদিন বিনম্রচিত্তে কেন্দ্রের কাছে নোট বাতিলের বিষয়টি পুনর্বিবেচনার করার আবেদন জানিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেছেন, এটা কোনও ইগোর লড়াই নয়। সাধারণ মানুষকে স্বস্তি দিতে সব দলের একসঙ্গে নামা উচিত। তিনি অর্থনৈতিক নৈরাজ্য বন্ধ করার ডাক দিয়েছেন। তিনি জানিয়েছেন, অর্থনৈতিক বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টিকারী হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত প্রত্যাহার করা উচিত। আগে সঠিক পরিকল্পনা করা উচিত ছিল। যেখানে সাধারণ মানুষ স্বস্তি পেত। সাধারণ ও গরিব মানুষকে হয়রানি থেকে মুক্তি দিতে অর্থনৈতিক নৈরাজ্য বন্ধ হওয়া উচিত।

নোট বাতিল নিয়ে মানুষের হয়রানি দেখতে শনিবার রাজপথে নেমেছিলেন মমতা ব্যানার্জি। শরৎ বোস রোড, ভবানীপুর আশুতোষ মুখার্জি রোডে বেসরকারি ব্যাঙ্কে যান। এ টি এমের অবস্থাও দেখেন। নোট বাতিলের ঘোষণার দিন মমতা ব্যানার্জিই প্রথম প্রতিবাদের সুর চড়িয়ে বলেন, এই সরকারকে বরখাস্ত করা উচিত। তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্ত। অনেক মানুষ আত্মহত্যা করতে পারেন। গরিব মানুষ টাকা রাখবে কোথায়?‌

শনিবার নবান্নে মিডিয়াকে বলেন, সাধারণ মানুষের হয়রানি চোখে দেখে এলাম। অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে। কেন ব্যাঙ্ক, এ টি এমে টাকা থাকবে না?‌ লাইন দিয়ে সাধারণ মানুষকে কেন শূন্য হাতে ফিরে যেতে হচ্ছে?‌ ২০০০ টাকা নিয়ে মানুষ কী করবে?‌ দোকানদার নিচ্ছে না। ভাঙাতে পারছে না। ১০০ টাকা বেশি পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না। আমি আবার রাজপথে নামব।‌‌‌
