Derek O’Brien makes a Point of Order on maintaining the integrity of Parliament


Sir, please refer to Rule 29. We seek your protection because it is thanks to you, Sir that we managed to get a meeting between the Government and the Opposition, the meeting which the Honourable Leader of the House was referring to about Bills, even though we are not referring to what percentage was passed last time. The Opposition together had a list of six Bills, four which were passed, a plus.

Sir, we seek your protection, that we want to examine these Bills. If the Government has the numbers, it can pass the Bills but let us fight for the integrity of Parliament. That is what I want to ask for.
