Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today thanked the people of the State for putting a bandh to bandhs. She briefed mediapersons at Dubai airport on her way to Rome.

“I congratulate the people of Bengal for putting a bandh to bandhs. Thank you to all,” said the Chief Minister. She also announced that those who came to work today will get an extra holiday during Durga Puja.

At Nabanna, Education Minister Partha Chatterjee thanked the people of Bengal for defying the bandh. He said people have shown their support towards Mamata Banerjee’s agenda of development. He said Mamata Banerjee has been working hard to restore the work culture in Bengal.

“The transport service was normal today. On a normal day 1800 buses ply on the roads. Today 2300 buses were available. There were 90 trams on the roads instead of 80. There were 37 water vehicles,” he added.

 

বনধকে বন্ধ করার জন্য রাজ্যবাসীকে ধন্যবাদ জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ বামফ্রন্ট ট্রেড ইউনিয়নের ডাকা বনধকে ব্যর্থ করার জন্য রাজ্যের মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। দুবাই থেকে রোমের বিমানে ওঠার আগে সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বনধকে বন্ধ করার জন্য বাংলার মানুষকে আমার শুভেচ্ছা। সকলকে অনেক ধন্যবাদ”। যারা আজ কাজে যোগদান করেছেন তারা দুর্গা পূজার সময় একদিন অতিরিক্ত ছুটি পাবেন বলে ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

নবান্নে সাংবাদিক বৈঠক করে স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত ভাবে এই বনধকে সমর্থন না করার জন্য মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ জানান। তিনি বলেন, মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উন্নয়নের কর্মসূচীকে মানুষ সমর্থন করছে। বাংলায় কাজের সংস্কৃতি ফিরিয়ে আনতে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় অনেক পরিশ্রম করেছেন। 

তিনি আরও জানান, “সাধারণ দিনে রাস্তায় ১৮০০ বাস চলে, আজ ২৩০০ টি বাস চলেছে। সাধারণত দিনে ৮০টি ট্রাম চলে, আজ সেই সংখ্যা ৯০। ৩৭টি জলযান চলেছে আজ”।

Bengal Tourism Department has drawn up a plan to promote on its website spots in Kolkata and the State with which Mother Teresa was intimately associated.

Tourists can book their visits to these spots that will include Mother House, the house where she first lived in Kolkata, a convent on Elliot Road and the church in Darjeeling she attended in the 1950s.

“After Sunday’s canonisation programme, we expect an increased flow of foreign tourists to the State. We will make arrangements so that they have a hassle-free experience,” said tourism minister Gautam Deb.

The minister said, the Government will also try to create a tourism circuit in which over 40 places of interest in Kolkata and all over Bengal, based on Mother Teresa, will be included.

 

মাদার টেরেসাকে নিয়ে পর্যটন সার্কিটের ভাবনা রাজ্যের

মাদার টেরেসা যেসকল জায়গার সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিলেন সেখানে পর্যটন সার্কিট করার পরিকল্পনা করছে বাংলার পর্যটন বিভাগ।

পর্যটকরা আগে থেকে এই জায়গাগুলির বুকিং করতে পারবেন। কলকাতার মাদার হাউস যেখানে তিনি প্রথমে থাকতেন, এলিয়ট রোডের কনভেন্ট, দার্জিলিং-এ গির্জা যেখানে তিনি পঞ্চাশের দশকে গেছিলেন এগুলিকেও এই সার্কিটের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হবে।

“পর্যটন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব জানান, “রোববারের ‘সন্ত’ অনুষ্ঠানের পর, রাজ্যে বিদেশী পর্যটকদের সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি পাবে। পর্যটকদের যাতে কোনরকম সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হতে না হয় সেদিকেও নজর রাখা হবে”।

মন্ত্রী জানান, কলকাতা ও তার চারপাশ এবং সমগ্র বাংলায় অবস্থিত এরকম ৪০টি জায়গা নিয়ে মাদার টেরেসা ট্যুরিজম সার্কিট করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে রাজ্য সরকারের।

Giving a call once again to thwart Friday’s strike, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the state government is going to introduce a law to ensure that a person will be liable to pay the amount of loss he or she causes by damaging property during the bandh.

The CM said that workers may have some issues. “The state government will give the compensation if there is any damage caused. At the same time vehicles should also ply and they will also be compensated if there is any damage.”

Before flying off to Rome she told reporters at airport: “The bandh will be a total failure. We are monitoring the situation. We appeal to everyone to defeat the bandh and keep Bengal running.”

 

বনধে ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়ার আইন প্রণয়নের পরিকল্পনা করা হচ্ছেঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

শুক্রবারের ধর্মঘট ব্যর্থ হবে একথা জানিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, বনধের দিনে যারা ক্ষয়-ক্ষতি করবে ক্ষতিপূরণ তাদেরকেই দিতে হবে এবং এর নিরিখে একটি আইন চালু করবে রাজ্য সরকার।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান, শ্রমিকদের কিছু সমস্যা থাকতে পারে। “যদি কোনরকম ক্ষয়-ক্ষতি হয় রাজ্য সরকার উপযুক্ত ক্ষতিপূরণের ব্যবস্থা করবে।একইসঙ্গে পরিবহণ ব্যবস্থা স্বাভাবিক রাখতে হবে এবং কোনরকম ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হলে সরকার সেই ক্ষতিপূরণ দেবে”।

রোম যাওয়ার আগে আজ বিমানবন্দরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সাংবাদিকদের বলেন,“বনধ পুরোপুরি ব্যর্থ হবে। আমরা মনিটরিং করছি। সকলকে আবেদন জানাবো বাংলাকে সচল রাখতে”।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today left for an eight-day tour of Italy and Germany. This is her first foreign trip after coming to power for the second time.

Mamata Banerjee will stay in Italy from September 2 to 5. She will attend the canonisation ceremony of Mother Teresa at Vatican City. The mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi will host a special reception for her either on September 4 or 5.

From Italy, she will fly to Munich to meet some German industrialists leading major manufacturing businesses. This is of great significance, looking ahead to the Bengal Global Business Summit scheduled on January 20, 2017.

The Chief Minister is being accompanied by a 12-member of official delegation and 29 industrialists. The official delegation includes, among others, MPs Sudip Bandopadhyay and Derek O’Brien, and the CM’s secretary Gautam Sanyal. A team of senior editors of English and vernacular dailies are also accompanying her.

আট দিনের ইতালি ও জার্মানি সফরে রওনা হলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ থেকে আট দিনের ইতালি ও জার্মানি সফরে যাচ্ছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। দ্বিতীয়বার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর এটিই তাঁর প্রথম বিদেশ সফর।

আগামী ২ থেকে ৫ সেপ্টেম্বর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ইতালিতে থাকবেন। সেখানে ভ্যাটিকান সিটিতে মাদার টেরেসাকে ‘সন্ত ঘোষণা’ অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দেবেন তিনি। রোমের মেয়র ভার্জিনিয়া রাজ্ঞী তাঁকে আগামী ৪ অথবা ৫ সেপ্টেম্বর সম্বর্ধনা জানাবেন।

ইতালি থেকে তিনি যাবেন মিউনিখে, সেখানে তিনি জার্মান শিল্পপতিদের সঙ্গে দেখা করবেন। ২০১৭ সালের ২০ জানুয়ারির বেঙ্গল গ্লোবাল বিজনেস সামিটের আগে এই সাক্ষা९ খুবই তা९পর্যপূর্ণ।

১২ জনের একটি সরকারি প্রতিনিধি দল এবং ২৯ জন শিল্পপতি মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর এই সফরের সঙ্গী।

এই সফরে তাঁর সঙ্গে থাকছেন সাংসদ সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ও ডেরেক ও’ ব্রায়েন। এছাড়া থাকছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীরসেক্রেটারি গৌতম স্যান্যাল। এছাড়া সাংবাদিকদের একটি দলও রয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে।

West Bengal Government, taking a stand to stop the menace of strikes and bandhs, is going all out to prevent the strike called by Left trade unions on September 2.

Bengal will not be stopped, announced Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The Chief Minister urged everybody to join their workplaces as all educational institutions, offices, shops and establishments and factories will remain open.

She added that vehicles will ply normally and public transport will not be hindered. There will be strongest possible action against any miscreants who try to disrupt public life, she said.

The Government will arrange for due compensation for any damage caused by miscreants to any vehicle or shop or establishment, the Chief Minister said in a post on social media.

 

বাংলা সচল থাকবেঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আগামী ২ সেপ্টেম্বর বামপন্থী ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন ডাকা বনধকে ব্যর্থ করতে এবং ধর্মঘটের নামে মানুষকে ভয় দেখানোর প্রতিবাদে ব্যবস্থা নিচ্ছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার।

বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ঘোষণা বাংলা সচল থাকবে।

ওই দিন সকল শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান, অফিস-আদালত, দোকান-বাজার এবং কারখানা খোলা রাখার এবং সকলকে তাদের কর্মস্থানে যোগ দেওয়ার আহ্বান জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

তিনি আরো বলেন, পরিবহণ ব্যবস্থা স্বাভাবিক ও সচল রাখতে হবে যাতে জনজীবন ব্যাহত না হয়। দুষ্কৃতিরা জনজীবনে কোন বিশৃঙ্খলা তৈরির চেষ্টা করলে সরকার কঠোর ভাবে তা মোকাবিলা করবে।

যানবাহন বা দোকান-বাজারের কোনরকম ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হলে সরকার উপযুক্ত ক্ষতিপূরণের ব্যবস্থা করবে, সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় একটি পোস্টে বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has put up hoardings all over the city asking people to keep offices and shops open and assured every cooperation to them. The Left trade unions have called a country-wide bandh on September 2.

The hoardings put up by KMC reads: Keep shops and markets and offices open. Let transport ply normally. The state government will stand by you and KMC will provide every cooperation.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said in the Assembly that the State Government would not support the bandh and steps would be taken to keep the offices open. “We have seen how CPI(M) had crippled the state’s economy by calling frequent  bandhs in its 34 years of rule. We are against bandhs and the state government will oppose it,” she said. The state government has decided to deduct a day’s salary for those who will not turn up for work.

The state government has decided to ply buses and requested private operators to ply them. The Chief Minister announced that the state government would give compensation if the vehicles got damaged by the bandh mongers and those doing this would be booked. Requests have also been made to the unions looking after taxis and mini buses.

 

২রা সেপ্টেম্বর বনধ ব্যর্থ করতে কলকাতা পুরসভার প্রচার অভিযান

বনধে জনজীবন স্বাভাবিক রাখার জন্য সব অফিস, দোকান খোলা রাখার আর্জি জানিয়ে শহরজুড়ে হোর্ডিং লাগিয়ে প্রচার অভিযান চালাচ্ছে কলকাতা পুরসভা। আগামী ২ সেপ্টেম্বর বাম ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন দেশব্যাপী বনধের ডেকেছে।

পুরসভার এই হোর্ডিং-এ লেখা আছে: সমস্ত দোকান, বাজার ও অফিস খোলা রাখুন। পরিবহণ ব্যবস্থা স্বাভাবিক ও সচল রাখুন। রাজ্য সরকার এবং কলকাতা পৌরসংস্থা সবরকম সহযোগিতা প্রদান করবে।

কয়েকদিন আগেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিধানসভায় বলেছিলেন, রাজ্য সরকার বনধ সমর্থন করবে না এবং সব অফিস খোলা রাখা হবে। আমরা দেখেছি গত ৩৪ বছরে সিপিএম কিভাবে বনধ ডেকে রাজ্য অর্থনীতিকে পঙ্গু করে দিয়েছে। আমরা সবসময় বনধের বিরুদ্ধে এবং রাজ্য সরকার বনধের বিরোধিতা করবে। তিনি জানান, ওইদিন যেসব সরকারি কর্মচারীরা ছুটি নেবেন রাজ্য সরকার তাদের একদিনের বেতন কেটে করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।

সরকারি ও বেসরকারি বাস গুলো যাতে ঠিকঠাক চলাচল করে সেজন্য বাস সংগঠনগুলিকে অনুরোধ করেছেন তিনি। বনধের কারণে কোনরকম ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হলে রাজ্য সরকার তার ক্ষতিপূরণ দেবে সেই আশ্বাসও দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ট্যাক্সি ইউনিয়ন এবং মিনি বাস সংগঠনগুলিকেও সহযোগিতা করার অনুরোধ করা হয়েছে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday gave a message to the people of the state urging to maintain peace and harmony during Durga Puja and Muharram. She also directed puja organisers to follow all norms to ensure safety of pandal hoppers and extended all sort of support for conducting their Puja.

The Chief Minister was speaking at an administrative and co-ordination meeting for conducting Durga Puja, Id-Ul-Zoha and Muharram smoothly.

She said: “There are some people who try to create trouble. Thus, I would like to urge people from all communities, clubs and youngsters to ensure peace and harmony during Durga Puja and Muharram. There are the brothers and sisters of Bengal to stop if they find anyone trying to play a spoilsport.”

“There are certain guidelines that are to be followed this time as well as Durga Puja and Muharram is at the same time. Like previous year, this year too immersion of Goddesses Durga and her entourage will take place on the mentioned dates.

For the first time, this year on October 14, idols of award winning Durga Puja will be passing in a procession while heading for immersion through Red Road with people watching from makeshift galleries to be set up on both sides of the road.

Chief Minister also launched the online based single window system to secure permission for organising Durga Puja. The online based system has been named ‘Aasan’ and puja orgnaisers just need to log into the website of the Kolkata Police to apply for permission.

Chief Minister directed the district police to introduce the same in their jurisdiction.

 

পুজোর সময় শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখুন: মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

মঙ্গলবার নেতাজি ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়ামে পুজো উদ্যোক্তাদের নিয়ে বৈঠক করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়৷ দুর্গাপুজোয় সাধারণ মানুষের সুরক্ষার কথা ভেবে এবং মহরম এবং বিজয়া দশমী সুশৃঙ্খলভাবে পালন করার জন্য বেশ কিছু নির্দেশ দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী৷ পাশাপাশি তিনি পূজার আয়োজক ও কর্তৃপক্ষদের মণ্ডপ এর নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য সব নিয়ম অনুসরণ করারও নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশাবলীঃ 

  • সিঙ্গল উইনডো সিস্টেমে অনলাইনে পুজোর জন্য আবেদনপত্র পূরণ করে অনুমতিপত্র পাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করল কলকাতা পুলিশ৷ ১৪ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে ‘আসান’ নামে এই প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করবে তারা৷ রাজ্যজুড়ে সেই পদ্ধতিতেই পুলিশ অনুমতি দেবে পুজো কমিটিগুলিকে৷
  • কলকাতা পুরসভা পুজোর বিজ্ঞাপনের টাকা নেয় না৷ রাজ্যের অন্য পুরসভাগুলিও সেই বিজ্ঞাপনের টাকা নেবে না৷
  • বিদ্যুতের খরচবাবদ সিইএসসির থেকে এবার ১৮ শতাংশ ছাড় পাবে পুজো কমিটি গুলি৷
  • মহিলা পরিচালিত ২৫টি ক্লাব ও গরিব ২৫টি পুজোকমিটিকে ১০ হাজার টাকা করে অনুদান দেবে সরকার৷
  • কলকাতা পুরসভা ১০০টি মহিলা ক্লাব ও ১০০টি গরিব ক্লাবকে ১০ হাজার টাকা করে অনুদান দেবে৷
  • কলকাতার বড় ক্লাবগুলি ছোট ক্লাবগুলিকে আর্থিক অনুদান দিয়ে সাহায্য করবে৷
  • পুজো করতে গিয়ে মাঠ পাওয়ার সমস্যা থেকে শুরু করে চেকবিলি নিয়ে যাবতীয় গোলমাল মেটাবেন স্থানীয় মন্ত্রী, সাংসদ, বিধায়করা৷
  • পুজোমণ্ডপের গেট চওড়া করতে হবে৷ পার্কে পুজো হলে পার্কের সব ক’টি গেট খোলা রাখতে হবে যাতে কোনওরকম দুর্ঘটনা না ঘটে৷
  • দমকল, অ্যাম্বুল্যান্স ঢোকার জন্য পর্যাপ্ত জায়গা রাখতে হবে৷
  • মণ্ডপে ভিড় সামলাতে মোড়া দড়ি, বড় টর্চ মাইক্রোফোন রাখতে হবে৷
  • রাত জেগে পাহারার ব্যবস্থা রাখুন৷
  • রাজ্যের ‘বাংলা’ নামকে সর্বত্র প্রচারে আনতে হবে৷
  • সুস্থ ট্রাফিক ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তুলতে সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফের প্রচার করতে হবে৷
  • ১১ অক্টোবর দশমী৷ বিকেল ৪ টের মধ্যে বাড়ি ও ছোট পুজোগুলির বিসর্জন দিয়ে দিতে হবে৷ তার পর বেরোবে মহরমের মিছিল৷ যদি একইসঙ্গে বিসর্জন ও মহরমের যাত্রা যাতে সুশৃঙ্খলভাবে বেরোয়, তা দেখবে পুলিশ৷
  • ১২ অক্টোবর একাদশী৷ ওই দিন মহরমও৷ ফলে ওই দিন কোনও বিসর্জন হবে না৷ পরদিন থেকে আবার হবে বিসর্জন৷ কোন পুজো কমিটি তাদের প্রতিমা কোথায় বিসর্জন দেবে, তা ঠিক করবে পুলিশ৷

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the State Government will not tolerate any kind of negligence to tackle dengue cases in the state. In her speech during the Assembly session, she said that everybody has to work together to prevent further spread of the disease.

“The State Government did not neglect diseases like dengue, malaria and encephalitis,” she said. She emphasised on taking preventive measures and asked the MLA s of the Opposition parties for helping the State Government to spread awareness of this disease.

She also said that the State Government has taken several drives to combat the deadly mosquito-borne virus. During this campaign, 87,000 additional workers have been deployed for cleaning of roads, drains, water bodies, regular lifting of waste and garbage from roads, markets,hospitals and major places of the town, scientific management of solid waste by way of using around 200 compactors.

Various cleanliness activities are being undertaken in each ward by involving councillors, health functionaries, self-help groups, ICDS workers, conservancy workers, schools, colleges, clubs, market committee members and various government organisations. In all, the 125 municipalities intensive awareness campaigns are being conducted to spread health awareness on vector-borne diseases.

 

ডেঙ্গু মোকাবিলায় কোনও গাফিলতি বরদাস্ত করা হবে না: মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

ডেঙ্গু মোকাবিলায় কর্তব্যে কোনও গাফিলতি বরদাস্ত করা হবে না একথা জানিয়ে দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়৷ বিধানসভায় এদিন তিনি তাঁর বক্তব্যে বলেন, ‘ডেঙ্গু নিয়ে রাজনীতি করা উচিত নয়৷ এই সময়ে রাজ্যের পাশে থাকা উচিত বিরোধীদের’৷ অন্যদিকে, ডেঙ্গু মোকাবিলায় কড়া ব্যবস্থা নিয়েছে কলকাতা পুরসভা৷

তিনি বলেন, “রাজ্য সরকার ডেঙ্গু, ম্যালেরিয়া এবং এনসেফালাইটিসের মত রোগ অবহেলা করে না”। তিনি প্রতিরোধমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করার ওপর গুরুত্ব আরোপ করেন এবং এই রোগ সম্পর্কে সচেতনতা ছড়িয়ে দিতে বিরোধী দলের বিধায়কদের রাজ্য সরকারকে সাহায্য করার কথা বলেন।

তিনি আরও বলেন, যে সরকার মশাবাহিত বিভিন্ন রোগের বিরুদ্ধে অনেক প্রতিরোধমূলক ব্যবস্থা নিয়েছে। রাস্তা, ড্রেন, জলাশয়, বর্জ্য ও রাস্তাঘাট, বাজার, হাসপাতাল ও শহরের বিভিন্ন স্থান পরিষ্কার করার জন্য ৮৭,০০০ অতিরিক্ত শ্রমিক মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে এবং ২০০টি কম্প্যাক্টর বসানো হয়েছে।

বিভিন্ন কাউন্সিলরসহ স্বাস্থ্য কর্মকর্তা, স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী, আই সি ডি এস কর্মী, শ্রমিক, স্কুল, কলেজ, ক্লাব, বাজার কমিটির সদস্য ও বিভিন্ন সরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের দ্বারা প্রতিটি ওয়ার্ডে পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছনতার কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। সব মিলিয়ে ১২৫টি পৌরসভায় মশা বাহিত বিভিন্ন রোগের জন্য সচেতনতামূলক কাজ শুরু হয়েছে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged people to keep all financial institutions open on September 2 and not to support the bandh called by the Left Front trade unions. The State Government has directed its employee not to take leaves between September 1 and 5.

Thus, there exists a possibility of the state government employees going on leave for five days at a stretch, from September 1 to 5 with Saturday and Sunday falling in between. Taking a proactive step, the State Government clearly stated that employees will be show-caused if they take leave anywhere between September 1 and 5 without any genuine and serious cause.

Based on the reply of the employee to the show-cause, the concerned authorities will take the decision whether he or she would be eligible to get the leave and salary for that day.It would also leave a bad remark on their service record. The step was taken to ensure a healthy turnout on the day of the strike.

The present Government is against the policy of going for a strike which causes losses in crores.

Bengal Chief Minister said that the state government has always been against bandh. “We are against the policies of the Centre. People employed in industrial units may have some problem. I am not ruling it out. But there are other processes of sorting it out instead of going for a strike,” she said.

 

২রা সেপ্টেম্বর বনধ ব্যর্থ করার ডাক মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

বনধের নামে কোনও বিশৃঙ্খলা বা কর্মনাশা-সংস্কৃতি বরদাস্ত করবে না রাজ্য সরকার৷ আগামী ২ সেপ্টেম্বর বামফ্রন্টের বিভিন্ন ট্রেড ইউনিয়নের ডাকা বনধের দিন সমস্ত প্রতিষ্ঠান অফিস খোলা রাখার আর্জি জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এছাড়া, ১ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে ৫ সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত সরকারী কর্মচারীদের ছুটি না নেওয়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

২ সেপ্টেম্বর কোনও ছুটি নেওয়া যাবে না৷ শুধু তাই নয়, তার আগের দিন বৃহস্পতিবার এবং পরবর্তী কাজের দিন অর্থাৎ সোমবারও সমস্ত ছুটি বাতিল করেছে সরকার৷ এই নিয়ে সরকারি বিজ্ঞপ্তিও জারি করা হয়েছে৷ ১ থেকে ৫ সেপ্টেম্বরের মধ্যে গুরুতর কারণ ছাড়া ছুটি নিলে কর্মীদের শো-কজ করা হবে।

শো-কজের জবাবের উপর ভিত্তি করে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ সিদ্ধান্ত নেবেন ছুটি নিতে পারবে কিনা এবং ছুটির জন্য বেতন কাটা যাবে কিনা। ধর্মঘটের দিন যাতে সব কিছু সুস্থভাবে চলে তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্যই এই ব্যবস্থা।

বনধের ফলে অনেক কর্মদিবস নষ্ট হয়, তাই বনধের নামে কোটি কোটি টাকার ক্ষতি বরদাস্ত করবে না রাজ্য সরকার।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এদিন বলেন যে, “রাজ্য সরকার বনধ সমর্থন করে না। আমরা কেন্দ্রের নীতির বিরুদ্ধে। শ্রমিকদের অনেক দাবি-দাওয়া, ইস্যু থাকতে পারে, আমরা সেটা সমর্থন করি৷ কিন্তু বন্ধের নামে অযথা একটা ছুটিকে সমর্থন করতে পারছি না”।

The Bengal Mass Education and Library Service department will observe a two-day programme on August 30 and 31 to create awareness about the facilities that are available in 2,500 state libraries located in all the 20 districts of the state.

The sole purpose of the two-day programme is to make students of both state-run and private schools to develop the habit of reading and visiting libraries regularly.

The State Government has been observing August 30 as Public Library Day since 2013 to perpetuate the habit of reading books. The day is observed in all state-run libraries. In Kolkata, a function will be inaugurated by MoS (Independent Charge) for Mass Education and Library Services, at the state Central Library in Ultadanga.

On August 31, a function will be held at the Science City auditorium, which will be inaugurated by State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee.

On Public Library Day, a sit-and-draw competition for students, quiz competition and extempore speech contest will be held. There will be competition for senior citizens as well and all the winning candidates will be awarded prizes. There will be a rally in the morning to create awareness about book reading.

A seminar on “Importance of Reading and the Influence of Books in People’s Lives” will also take place. There will be a book reading session by eminent litterateurs, along with a book exhibition-cum-sale. An exhibition highlighting the achievements made by various departments of the state government like tourism, consumer affairs, technical education, information and cultural affairs will also be held.

দুদিন ব্যাপী গ্রন্থাগার উ९সব পালন করছে রাজ্য সরকার

২০টি জেলায় প্রায় ২৫০০টি গ্রন্থাগারে সুযোগ সুবিধা সম্পর্কে সচেতনতা প্রসারের জন্য আগামী ৩০ ও ৩১ আগস্ট জনশিক্ষা প্রচার এবং গ্রন্থাগার বিভাগ দু দিনের একটি কর্মসূচি পালন করবে।

বিভিন্ন সরকারি ও বেসরকারি স্কুলের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের নিয়মিত বই পড়া এবং লাইব্রেরি যাওয়ার অভ্যাস তৈরি করাই এই কর্মসূচির একমাত্র উদ্দেশ্য। ২০১৩ সাল থেকেই ৩০ আগস্ট গ্রন্থাগার দিবস হিসেবে পালন করছে রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্যের সব পাঠাগারে এই দিনটি পালন করা হয়। কলকাতায় উল্টোডাঙ্গার সেন্ট্রাল লাইব্রেরিতে ওইদিন  একটি অনুষ্ঠানেরও আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।

৩১ আগস্ট, সায়েন্স সিটি অডিটোরিয়ামে একটি অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে যার উদ্বোধন করবেন রাজ্যের শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়। গ্রথাগার দিবসে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য একটি বসে আঁকো প্রতিযোগিতা, কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা হবে। সেখানে প্রবীণ নাগরিকদের জন্য বেশকিছু প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন হবে। বিজয়ী প্রার্থীদের পুরস্কার দেওয়া হবে। বই পড়া সম্পর্কে সচেতনতা সৃষ্টির লক্ষ্যে সকাল থেকে একটি সমাবেশের আয়োজন করা হবে। এই সম্পর্কে একটি সেমিনারেরও আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
