Trinamool MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today protested against the political vendetta by Central government inside Parliament complex.

Carrying placards the MPs marched inside the complex shouting slogans against the Centre’s misuse of agencies like CBI. They also protested against the arrest of a party MP and Trinamool Lok Sabha leader.

The protests ended with the MPs assembled near the Gandhi statue inside Parliament complex where they continued their sloganeering.

In Rajya Sabha, leader of AITC Parliamentary Party, Derek O’Brien registered protest against the arrest of party’s leader in Lok Sabha. He also demanded that the House maintain one minute silence on the hundreds of deaths caused due to demonetisation. Later, Trinamool walked out of the Rajya Sabha protesting against the political vendetta by Centre.

In Lok sabha Saugata Roy registered his protest on this issue.

He said, “Madam, with your permission, I want to raise the issue of misuse of CBI for political purposes by the Central government. CBI is a caged parrot”.

His speech was disrupted by BJP MPs leading to the adjournment of the House for the day.

গান্ধী মূর্তির কাছে তাদের মিছিল শেষ হয়।

রাজ্যসভায় তৃণমূলের পরিষদীয় দলনেতা ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েন দলের সাংসদদের গ্রেপ্তারের প্রতিবাদ করেন। যারা নোটবাতিলের ফলে প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন তাদের স্মৃতির উদ্দেশে রাজ্যসভায় এক মিনিট নিরবতা পালনের দাবী জানান ডেরেক।

Bengal Government launches ‘e-Vahan’ service for online payment of taxes and registration of vehicles for the Kolkata Metropolitan Area (KMA) on Thursday. The service will be extended to the rest of the State by March 31, Transport Minister said.

The objective behind taking this step is to bring more transparency to the entire process of tax collection and, secondly, to create a smart system so that people can pay taxes online without having to visiting the motor vehicles office – where they often face inconvenience.

To make payments through the e-vahan service, a citizen needs to go to the e-vahan website and register themselves by filling up all necessary details.

 

গাড়ি বাইকের অনলাইন রেজিস্ট্রেশনের জন্য রাজ্য সরকার চালু করল ই-বাহন পরিষেবা

নতুন বাইক কিংবা গাড়ি কেনার পর অনলাইনে রেজিস্ট্রেশন ও করদানের জন্য রাজ্য সরকার চালু করল ই-বাহন পরিষেবা। প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে শুধুমাত্র কলকাতা পুরসভা অঞ্চলে এই পরিষেবা শুরু করা হলেও আগামি ৩১সে মার্চের মধ্যে এই পরিষেবা সারা রাজ্যে পাওয়া যাবে, এমনটাই জানালেন পরিবহণ মন্ত্রী।

এই পরিষেবার ফলে পুরসভার কর আদায়ের ক্ষেত্রে আরও বেশি স্বচ্ছতা আসবে এবং মানুষের হয়রানিও অনেকটাই কমবে।

এই পরিষেবার মাধ্যমে গ্রাহককে ই-বাহন এর ওয়েবসাইটে গিয়ে রেজিস্টার করলেই এই পরিষেবা পেতে পারবেন।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today cautioned people against people who indulge in rumour mongering to incite communal violence.

She was speaking at the inauguration of a two day-long conference of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department today at Netaji Indoor stadium.

Panchayats that had performed well were rewarded by the Chief Minister at the conference. She announced hikes in honoriums for the three tier panchayat workers. She said that they will be included in the Swasthya Sathi scheme.

In her speech, the Chief Minister said that trust, efficiency, innovation and transparency are the keys to effective governance. She asked the audience to keep working for the people and take the State to new heights of progress.

She praised Coochbehar and Hooghly for performing well in 100 Days’ Work, Nadia in cleanliness mission, Murshidabad in Anandadhara scheme. She also praised the Hooghly district for returning land to Singur farmers in record time in cultivable condition.

The Chief Minister highlighted the plight of the handicraft workers due to demonetisation. She also said that had the government not inherited a huge debt legacy much more work could have been done.

 

গুজবে কান দেবেন না, সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি রক্ষা করুনঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

কিছু মানুষ গুজব ছড়িয়ে সাম্প্রদায়িক দাঙ্গা ছড়াতে চাইছেন, গুজবে কান  দেবেন না, দু’দিন ব্যাপী পঞ্চায়েত সম্মেলনের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে এইভাবেই সতর্কবার্তা দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
আজকের এই সম্মেলনে যে সকল পঞ্চায়েত ভাল কাজ করেছে, তাদের পুরস্কৃত করা হয়। গ্রাম সভা, পঁচায়েত সমিতি এবং জেলা পরিষদের সদস্যদের  ভাতাবৃদ্ধির কথা ঘোষণা করেন তিনি। পাশাপাশি তাদের স্বাস্থ্য সাথী প্রকল্পের আওতায় আনার কথা বলেন তিনি।
তিনি বলেন, বিশ্বাস, কর্মদক্ষতা, উদ্ভাবনী চিন্তা এবং স্বচ্ছতা এগুলোই সরকারের সুশাসনের চাবিকাঠি। তিনি উপস্থিত সকলকে আবেদন করেন মানুষের জন্য কাজ করতে ও বাংলাকে প্রগতির শিখরে নিয়ে যেতে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ১০০ দিনের কাজ প্রকল্পে কুচবিহার ও হুগলী জেলার প্রশংসা করেন। নদিয়া জেলা প্রশংসিত হয় নির্মল জেলা ঘোষিত হওয়ার জন্য। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার প্রশংসা করেন আনন্দধারা প্রকল্পের কাজ ভাল ভাবে করার জন্য।
হুগলী জেলা পরিষদ যেভাবে অল্পসময়ের মধ্যেই সিঙ্গুরের চাষিদের জমি চাষযোগ্য করে ফিরিয়ে দেয় তারও প্রশংসা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
নোটবাতিলের ফলে হস্তশিল্পীদের কষ্টের কথাও তিনি উল্লেখ করেন বক্তব্যে। তিনি আরও বলেন, বিগত সরকারের ঋণের বোঝা বইতে না হলে তাঁর সরকার বাংলার উন্নয়নের জন্য আরও অনেক কাজ করতে পারত।

Chairman Sir, women are the best support system for other women. They understand the problems best and together they can solve the problems in the best manner. It is important that more and more mahila mandals of women’s self-help groups should come up. It will provide a forum for rural women to discuss their personal, family, social and economic concerns.

Sir, my question is, what steps are being taken by the Government to establish at least one mahila mandal in each village of the country or at least in those ones which have a population of at least 500?

Sir, women’s reservation is not enough; if we want to comprehensively address some of the major issues concerning a society, we need to make women aware about their rights so that they can deal with issues like poverty, health, education, environment and local self-governance.

 

My question is, what are the details of the training programme the Government is running specially to empower rural women to deal with issues of social justice, environment and local self-governance?

She said that the IT companies and professionals must be protected and given full support.

টুইটে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী লিখেছেন, এইচ১ বি ভিসা সংক্রান্ত যে খবর সামনে আসছে তা অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগের। আমাদের তথ্য প্রযুক্তি কর্মী ও সংস্থাগুলিকে রক্ষা করা উচিত। তাদের পূর্ণ সমর্থন দেওয়াই আমাদের কর্তব্য।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “ ভারতে বিশ্বমানের তথ্য প্রযুক্তি কর্মী রয়েছেন। তাদের নিয়ে আমরা গর্বিত। তাদের সুরক্ষিত করা আমাদের কর্তব্য”। সেইজন্য তিনি সমস্ত তথ্য প্রযুক্তি কর্মীদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর বার্তা দিয়েছেন।

Sir, when the debate on demonetisation was happening between November 16 and December 16, 2016, 15-16 Opposition parties were meeting every day. There was a joint effort to highlight the pain of the people. There were deaths caused; as of now 135 people have died. There were issues for the economy, and people were suffering.

If you check the records of the Rajya Sabha, on November 24, at 2.40 PM, it was mentioned in the speech that we can oppose demonetisation in our democratic ways because we had different views – the Opposition had one view and the Government had another view. But because we are opposing demonetisation that cannot be an excuse to send your agencies after us and to scare us.

And Sir, exactly what we feared has happened. Lok Sabha leader of Trinamool Congress – with 34 and 12, that is, 46 MPs – was called and arrested January 3, 2017. Sir, within one month of speaking this happened. Today it has happened to Trinamool Congress. Tomorrow it can happen to any member of any of the 15 Opposition parties.

Sir, this is a very serious issue. We can have political differences. Mamata Banerjee was the first person to flag demonetisation, one and a half hours after the Hon’ble Prime Minister made his announcement on November 8, 2016; not just Trinamool Congress, all opposition parties opposed it.

Why is this political vendetta happening? What are we coming to, Sir? 135 people died, but not even a word from this Government.

When we spoke, the Hon’ble Prime Minister was sitting there, the Leader of the House was sitting there; and we made it very clear – do not do political vendetta. The more you do political vendetta, the more we will firm our resolve to fight you on demonetisation.

Trinamool today slammed the Centre for indulging in politics of vendetta and stifling the voice of the Opposition. The party said said that political vendetta will only firm the resolve the Centre on demonetisation.

Trinamool had submitted a Notice under Rule 267 in Rajya Sabha today to suspend the business of the House at 11 AM and 12 noon in order to discuss the issue. You can read the full Notice here.

Speaking on behalf of the party, Leader of the Parliamentary Party in Rajya Sabha, Derek O’Brien said: “On 24 November, 2016, we mentioned that political vendetta cannot be used against the Opposition for protesting against demonetisation. Exactly what we feared has happened. Lok Sabha leader of Trinamool Congress was called and arrested January 3.”

He added that what has happened to Trinamool today can happen to any other party in the future. He maintained that in a democracy one can have political differences and political vendetta should not be done.

Chief Whip of the party in Rajya Sabha, Sukhendu Sekhar Roy slammed the Centre for the ‘witch hunt’ against Trinamool. All Trinamool MPs in the Upper House walked out in protest against political vendetta and witch hunt by the Centre.

কেন্দ্রের রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের লড়াইকে আরও শক্ত করবেঃ রাজ্যসভায় তৃনমূল

আজ তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সংসদে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের প্রতিহিংসাপরায়ন রাজনীতিতে মদত দেওয়া ও বিরোধীদের কণ্ঠস্বর রোধ করার প্রচেষ্টার কড়া সমালোচনা করে।
রাজ্যসভায় আজ তৃনমূল ২৬৭ নম্বর নিয়মে নোটিশ দেয় যাতে বেলা ১১টা ও ১২টায় সংসদের সব কাজ মুলতুবি করে রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার বিষয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।
তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের তরফ থেকে রাজ্যসভার পরিষদীয় দলনেতা ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েন বলেন, “আমরা গত ২৪সে নভেম্বর উল্লেখ করেছিলাম নোটবাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে যারা প্রতিবাদ করছে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা পরায়ণ আচরণ যেন করা না হয়। আমরা যা আশঙ্কা করেছিলাম, ঠিক তাই হল। গত ৩রা জানুয়ারি তৃনমূল কংগ্রেসের লোকসভার দলনেতাকে তলব করে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।”
তিনি আরও বলেন, আজ তৃনমূলের বিরুদ্ধে বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিহিংসা পরায়ণ রাজনীতি করা হচ্ছে, কাল অন্য যে কোনও রাজনৈতিক দলের সঙ্গেও  করা হতে পারে। গণতন্ত্রে রাজনৈতিক মতভেদ থাকতেই পারে কিন্তু তার জন্য রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা প্রদর্শন করা উচিত নয়।”
রাজ্যসভায় দলের মুখ্যসচেতক সুখেন্দু শেখর রায় কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই প্রতিহিংসাপরায়ন রাজনীতির তীব্র নিন্দা করেন। রাজ্যসভার সকল তৃনমূল সাংসদ কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের বিরোধিতায় ‘ওয়াক আউট’ করেন।

Trinamool Congress today alleged that BJP collected billions of rupees from “unknown sources” and is now preaching about electoral reforms.

Party’s chief national spokesperson Derek O’Brien also said the Narendra Modi government’s decision to cap donations to political parties at Rs 2,000 will not solve anything. “You want electoral reforms & you bring down the minimum figure from 20,000 rupees to 2000. Won’t solve anything. Who you kidding?” he tweeted.

“And look who is preaching about electoral reforms? The party that has already picked up billions from “unknown sources,” the party’s leader in Rajya Sabha said.

On the Railway Budget, he said the “grand design” to merge it with the General Budget turned out to be a damp squib. “This will damage the very core of the transport system,” he said.

রাজনৈতিক দলের নগদ অনুদানের ঊর্ধ্বসীমা ২০ হাজার টাকা থেকে কমিয়ে ২ হাজার টাকা করার যে সিদ্ধান্ত কাল অর্থমন্ত্রী বাজেটে ঘোষণা করলেন, তাকে কটাক্ষ করলো তৃনমূল কংগ্রেস।

তৃনমূল কংগ্রেস এর পক্ষ থেকে জাতীয় মুখপাত্র ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েন বলেন সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্তে কোনও সমাধান হবে না। তিনি টুইট করে বলেন, “আপনারা নির্বাচনী সংস্কার চান, তাই নগদ অনুদানের সীমা ২০ হাজার থেকে কমিয়ে ২ হাজার করেছেন। কিন্তু, এতে কিছু সমাধান হবে না। কাদের বোকা বানাচ্ছেন?”

ডেরেক, যিনি রাজ্যসভায় তৃণমূলের পরিষদীয় দলনেতা, বলেন, “যে দল (বিজেপি) ‘অজানা সুত্র’ থেকে কোটি কোটি টাকা পেয়েছে তারা এখন ‘নির্বাচনী সংস্কারের’ বানী শোনাচ্ছে”।

সাধারণ বাজেটের সঙ্গে রেল বাজেটের সংযুক্তিকরণকেও কটাক্ষ করেন তিনি। বলেন, সরকরের ‘মহান পরিকল্পনা’ পুরো মাঠে মারা গেল। এই পদক্ষেপের ফলে পরিবহণ ক্ষেত্রের ক্ষতি হবে।”

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today called the Union Budget as “clueless, useless, baseless, missionless and actionless”.

Slamming the Central Government, she tweeted: “A controversial Budget which is clueless, useless, baseless, missionless and actionless. Heartless. No roadmap for the country or the future from a government that has lost all its credibility”

She added, “Tax payers still have restrictions on withdrawals. Remove all restrictions. And where are the figures for demonetisation? Misleading. Full of jugglery of numbers and hollow words which mean nothing.”

 

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের বাজেটে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের প্রতিক্রিয়া

বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের বাজেটকে “অনর্থক, ভিত্তিহীন, উদ্দেশ্যহীন কর্মহীন ও হৃদয়হীন” বলে আখ্যা দিয়েছেন।

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের বাজেটের সমালোচনা করে তিনি টুইট করে জানান, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই বিতর্কিত বাজেট আদপে অনর্থক, ভিত্তিহীন, উদ্দেশ্যহীন কর্মহীন ও হৃদয়হীন। দেশের ভবিষ্যতের কোনও পথনির্দেশ দেননি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। এই সরকার সব ধরনের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা হারিয়েছে। এই বাজেট বিভ্রান্তিকর।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “কর প্রদানকারীদের টাকা তোলার ক্ষেত্রে এখনও নিষেধাজ্ঞা বহাল রয়েছে। সব ধরনের নিষেধাজ্ঞা এই মুহূর্তে তুলে নেওয়া হোক। নোটবাতিল সংক্রান্ত কোনও তথ্য কেন বাজেটে নেই? শুধুমাত্র পরিসংখ্যানের ভেলকি ও ফাঁকা আওয়াজ, যার কোনও অর্থ নেই।”

Statement by All India Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party:

Trinamool MPs will not be present in Parliament on the first two days of the Budget Session in protest against demonetisation which was implemented without taking Parliament into confidence, and restrictions on withdrawal limits from bank accounts which are still in force.

In the ensuing session, Trinamool will, among other issues, raise the issue of the illegal arrest of its Lok Sabha leader and another MP which is a clear case of political vendetta by the ruling party at the Centre by misusing CBI and abusing its power.

সংসদকে না জানিয়ে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার নোট বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে টাকা তোলার বিধি নিষেধও এখনোও তোলা হয়নি। এর প্রতিবাদে বাজেট অধিবেশনের প্রথম দু’দিন সংসদে উপস্থিত থাকবে না তৃণমূলের কোনও সাংসদ।

नोटबंदी के मुद्दे पे संसद को विश्वास में नहीं लेने के कारण और cash withdrawal की सीमा नहीं हटाने के विरोध में , बजट सत्र के पहले दो दिनों में तृणमूल के कोई भी सांसद Parliament में मौजूद नहीं रहेंगे।
आने वाले सत्र में, दूसरे मामलों के साथ, तृणमूल अपने लोक सभा के नेता और दूसरे एक सांसद के अवैध गिरफ़्तारी का मुद्दा उठायेगा। उनकी गिरफ़्तारी राजनैतिक प्रतिशोध का एक नमूना है और जिसे केंद्र के ruling पार्टी ने CBI का ग़लत इस्तेमाल कर और अपनी क्षमता का दुरुपयोग कर सिद्ध किया है।
