Mamata Banerjee rushes to Midnapore in the evening

Midnapore Jan 31: Today evening, Mamata Banerjee rushed to Midnapore risking her own life to stand beside the injured Trinamool workers and journalists. After speaking with the injured she commented that the ruling party ‘Harmads’ have joined hands with the state police in attacking the Trinamool party workers and common people. This time they even did not spare the journalists. She was of the opinion that all of today’s action was a ‘story’ planted by the left. She promised to report to New Delhi about today’s incident. The state police started its operations from the morning. First it was understood that the state police is jointly conducting the actions with the central forces. But later, the IG of CRPF categorically denied his forces involvement in today’s incident. Ms. Banerjee was keeping a close vigil on the happenings from the morning. She thought that things will calm down during the day. But unfortunately, things began to get murkier as the day went on. By early evening, news reached Kalighat that apart from party workers, a large number of journalists have also been hit. She took the decision of going to Midnapore at that instant without fearing about her own security. She reached Midnapore around 9 p.m in the evening. She went to the hospital and talked with every party worker and journalists who were injured. She was accompanied by MP Subhendu Adhikari. She directed the local leadership to transfer the critically injured to Kolkata. Later in the Midnapore Circuit House she held a press conference and said “cadres wearing CRPF uniforms and police had jointly raided†the guesthouse, which was doubling as a “relief camp for our supporters who had fled their homes because of Left atrocitiesâ€. She also said “after the incident we talked with the Home Ministry officials. The IG of CRPF has denied their presence in the incident. Then who were wearing the uniforms of the central forces?â€
