Bangla CM to inaugurate modern correctional home in Baruipur
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate a state-of-the-art correctional home in Baruipur on November 14.
This is Phase-I of the construction, which has a G+2 structure. After the inauguration, the largest correctional home-to-correctional home shifting in the history of Bangla, involving 700 to 800 inmates of Alipore Central Correctional Home will be carried out.
Both undertrials and convicts will be housed at the new facility, though in separate areas, with separate dining rooms.
This facility is costing Rs 250 crore to build. Later, as the rest of the facility is built, more inmates would be moved.
The swanky facility – with CCTV coverage and high-end electronic surveillance – will have a lot of open space due to its vertical structure.
