In a unique initiative, the state Food and Supplies department has tied up with the Health department to distribute free food grains among mothers and their newborns suffering from malnutrition.

Under this new scheme, the Food Supplies department will distribute various food grains including rice, pulses, wheat and soyabean among mothers and their children on the basis of the list provided by the state 2.

The State Food and Supplies Minister said that a pack weighing around 9 kg of food grains will be supplied for the mothers and their babies suffering from malnutrition every month. They would be able to avail the service for one year since a mother gives birth to a child and suffers from malnutrition. One packet will be distributed among each family in a month and they will be able to avail the benefits for one year.

একটি অভিনব উদ্যোগে রাজ্য খাদ্য ও সরবরাহ দপ্তর জোট বেঁধেছে স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তরের সঙ্গে যাতে করে অপুষ্টিতে আক্রান্ত মা ও শিশুদের খাদ্য সরবরাহের পরিকল্পনা করা যায়। এই নতুন প্রকল্পে, খাদ্য সরবরাহ দপ্তর চাল, ডাল, গম, সোয়াবিন বিতরণ করবে মা ও শিশুদের রাজ্য সরকারের তৈরি করা লিস্ট অনুযায়ী।

খাদ্য মন্ত্রী বলেন, ৯ কিলো ওজনের একটি ফুড প্যাক দেওয়া হবে প্রতি মাসে মা ও শিশুদের। ওই পরিবারগুলি এই পরিষেবা পাবে ১ বছর। স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তর খাদ্য ও সরবরাহ দপ্তরকে একটি লিস্ট দেবে যেখানে অপুষ্টিতে আক্রান্ত মা ও শিশুদের নাম নথিভুক্ত থাকবে, যার ওপর ভিত্তি করে এই প্যাকেজ তৈরি করা হবে।

এই প্যাকে থাকবে ১কিলো চাল, ২কিলো ডাল (দুরকম), ১কিলো সোয়াবিন, ১কিলো গম। এই প্যাক তৈরিতে সরকারের খরচ হবে ৪৫০টাকা। মন্ত্রী বলেন, আরও একটি নতুন প্রকল্প আসবে সোনাগাছির যৌনকর্মীদের জন্য, এইচআইভি আক্রান্ত, কুষ্ঠ পীড়িতদের জন্য। এদেরও বিনামুল্যে খাদ্য শস্য প্রদান করা হবে। একটি স্পেশ্যাল টিম তৈরি করা হবে যারা এদের বাড়ি বাড়ি গিয়ে ফুড প্যাক বিতরণ করবে।

Muslin-khadi material produced by weavers of Howrah has received widespread accolades from fashion designers and connoisseurs from the country. West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB) has tied up with Udaynarayanpur Pancharul North Harishchandrapur Khadi and Village Development Organisation to unite the weavers.

After coming to power in 2011, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took initiatives to revive muslin and those weavers whose financial condition had gone from bad to worse. After the revival of muslin, the weavers were given training.

Accordingly, the weavers of Udaynarayanpur began to carry out experiments with khadi and muslin respectively. It is for the first time in the state when the unique muslin-khadi material is being produced in the state for the first time and probably in the country.

The muslin produced by the weavers has received international appreciation. Apart from sarees, shirts, kurtas, kurtis and bed linen and pillow covers made of muslin are being sold through different outlets of Biswa Bangla. Even costume jewellery made of muslin has received appreciation from the buyers from abroad.

In view of the success of muslin, it is hoped that the mixed material will have a very good market both in the country and abroad, said a senior state government official. Various schemes taken up by the state government have helped over 6,000 weavers in Howrah district to become financially stable. Artisan Welfare Trust has been set up to look after the interests of the weavers.

Under Janashree scheme, children of the weavers studying in Classes IX and X are getting a monthly stipend of Rs 1,200. The family of the weavers who die while working get Rs 3,000. The weavers can also take loans from the trust in times of need. As the financial condition of the weavers has improved manifold, they are working hard to improve the quality of their produce.

 

 

ফ্যাশন প্রেমীরা বাংলার মসলিন-খাদি মিশ্রিত বস্ত্রের প্রশংসায় পঞ্চমুখ

দেশের ফ্যাশন ডিজাইনার ও ফ্যাশন প্রেমীদের প্রশংসা পাচ্ছে হাওড়া জেলার মসলিন-খাদি বস্ত্রের শিল্পীরা।

২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় এসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় উদ্যোগ নেন মসলিন শিল্প পুনরুজ্জীবিত করার। শিল্পীদের দেওয়া হয় প্রশিক্ষণ। উদয়নারায়নপুরের শিল্পীরা এখন খাদি ও মসলিন নিয়ে বিভিন্ন পরীক্ষামূলক কাজ করছে। সম্ভবত দেশে এই প্রথম খাদি-মসলিন মিশ্রিত বস্ত্র তৈরি হয়েছে।

মসলিন শিল্পীরা পেয়েছে আন্তর্জাতিক প্রশংসা। মসলিনের তৈরি শাড়ি, শার্ট, কুর্তা, কুর্তি, বিছানার চাদর, বালিশের ওয়াড় বিশ্ব বাংলার অনেক দোকানে পাওয়া যায়। এমনকি মসলিনের তৈরি গয়নাও প্রশংসা পেয়েছে বিদেশে।

মসলিনের এই জনপ্রিয়তা দেখে আশা করা যায় মসলিন-খাদি মিশ্রিত বস্ত্রও জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করবে বিশ্বজুড়ে।

হাওড়ার ৬০০০ শিল্পীদের আর্থিকভাবে সহায়তা করতে রাজ্য সরকার চালু করেছে একাধিক প্রকল্প। আর্টিসান ওয়েলফেয়ার ট্রাস্ট তৈরি করা হয়েছে শিল্পীদের সাহায্যার্থে।

যেসকল শিল্পীদের সন্তান অষ্টম থেকে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণীতে পাঠ্যরত তাদের সরকারের তরফে দেওয়া হয় মাসিক ১২০০ টাকা। এই প্রকল্পের নাম জনশ্রী। প্রয়াত শিল্পীদের পরিবারদের দেওয়া হয় ৩০০০ টাকা। শিল্পীরা নিজেদের প্রয়োজনে ওই ট্রাস্ট থেকে ঋণ নিতে পারেন।

যেহেতু আগের তুলনায় শিল্পীদের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নতি হয়েছে, তারা আরও ভালো মানের কাজ করতে চেষ্টা করছেন।

Soon, Jorasanko Thakurbari, home to a campus of Rabindra Bharati University as well, would get its own light-and-sound show, the work for which is almost complete. The Bengal Tourism Department is overseeing setting up of the equipment for the state-of-the-art 3D shows. The shows would commence this winter.

According to the vice-chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University, the shows would take place all through the year, except during the rainy season. Rs 1.4 crore has been spent for setting up the infrastructure.

Similar shows used to take place years back but the present set-up is a complete change in terms of the whole get-up.

The new shows would be 3D shows. They would present the life and times of Rabindranath Tagore and scenes from the heydays of the Thakurbari, whose members during the 19th century were an integral part of the Bengal Renaissance, through a series of life-like images composed of light and laser beams, accompanied by songs composed by Rabindranath Tagore.

Bits of songs sung by Ramkumar Chattopadhyay, Ustad Rashid Khan, Lopamudra Mitra, etc. would be used. The narration would be voiced by Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Bratati Bandyopadhyay, etc. Even Tagore’s own voice would be used in places.

The façade of Thakurbari would be used as the screen for the light-and-sound show. Still images to be used for the shows have been collected from the Rabindra Bharati University archives.

Some of the greatest writers, poets, artists and philosophers of not just Bengal, but India, and in some cases, the world, were members of the Thakur or Tagore family of Jorasanko.

At a time, 80 to 100 people would be able to view a show. Two shows per day would take place, starting from 7 pm. Initially, all the shows would be in Bengali. Later on, English and Hindi shows would be introduced. Tickets have to be bought for the show, separate from the one bought for the museum at Jorasanko Thakurbari.

কবিগুরু রবীন্দ্রনাথের বেড়ে ওঠা কিংবা ঠাকুরবাড়ির অবদান। নতুন আঙ্গিকে গোটা বিষয়টিকে তুলে ধরছে রবীন্দ্রভারতী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। শীঘ্রই জোড়াসাঁকো ঠাকুরবাড়িতে লাইট অ্যান্ড সাউন্ডের মাধ্যমে বিশেষ প্রদর্শনী শুরু হতে চলেছে। যার কাজ এখন শেষ পর্যায়ে। আধ ঘণ্টার এই প্রদর্শনীতে আলাদা মাত্রা যোগ করবে কবিগুরুর গান। এক যুগের বেশি সময় পর এই প্রদর্শনী শুরু হচ্ছে এই ক্যাম্পাসে। পর্যটন দপ্তরের সহায়তায় এই কাজ করা হচ্ছে। আসন্ন শীতকালেই এই শো চালু হয়ে যাবে।

পুরানো প্রযুক্তিকে ফেলে দিয়ে একেবারে নতুন রূপে আসছে এই লাইট অ্যান্ড সাউন্ড। থ্রি ডি প্রযুক্তি তো থাকবেই। ঠাকুরবাড়ির ভবনটিকেই স্ক্রিন হিসাবে ব্যবহার করা হবে। তার উপরই আলো এবং লেজারের মাধ্যমে এই প্রদর্শনী হবে। এর জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আর্কাইভ থেকে স্থির চিত্র ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। ৮০-১০০ জন মানুষ এই শো একেকবার করে দেখতে পারবেন।

ফিল্মের বিষয়বস্তু নিয়ে রবীন্দ্রভারতীর উপাচার্য বলেন, মূল আকর্ষণ অবশ্যই রবীন্দ্রনাথ। তার সঙ্গে ঠাকুরবাড়ির অবদান এবং বাংলার নবজাগরণ নিয়েও তথ্য রাখা হয়েছে। বিভিন্ন ঘটনার প্রেক্ষিতে কবিগুরুর গানকে আবহ সংগীত হিসাবে ব্যবহার করা হবে। তবে কোনও গানই পুরো থাকবে না। অনেক গানই টুকরো টুকরো করে জোড়া হয়েছে। তথ্যচিত্রের স্ক্রিপ্টের জন্য একাধিক ভয়েস ওভার শিল্পীকে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। তার মধ্যে রয়েছেন বিশিষ্ট অভিনেতা সৌমিত্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়, ব্রততী বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় প্রমুখ। গানে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে রামকুমার চট্টোপাধ্যায়, পণ্ডিত রশিদ খান, লোপামুদ্রা মিত্র প্রমুখকে। এমনকী রবীন্দ্রনাথের গলায় গাওয়া গানও সাধারণ মানুষ শুনতে পারবেন।

আপাতত বাংলাতেই এই প্রদর্শনী হবে। সন্ধ্যার পরই দু’টি করে শো প্রতিদিন হবে। তা দেখার জন্য টিকিট কেটে ঢুকতে হবে সাধারণ মানুষকে। আগামীদিনে এই প্রদর্শনী হিন্দি ও ইংরেজিতেও চালু করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন উপাচার্য। জোড়াসাঁকো ক্যাম্পাসে একটি মিউজিয়ামও রয়েছে। তার জন্য টিকিট কেটে ঢুকতে হয়। তবে এই লাইট অ্যান্ড সউন্ডের ক্ষেত্রে সেই টিকিট প্রযোজ্য হবে না। উপাচার্যের কথায়, বর্ষাকাল বাদে সারা বছরই এটি চলবে।

পর্যটন দপ্তর থেকে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জন্য প্রায় আড়াই কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে। সেই টাকার একাংশ দিয়েই এই লাইট অ্যান্ড সাউন্ড প্রকল্পটি করছে কর্তৃপক্ষ। বিশ্বের বহু মানুষই রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের সম্পর্কে জানতে এখানে আসেন। ফলে এমন একটা প্রদর্শনী পর্যটক টানতেও সাহায্য করবে।

New Digha will soon have a first-of-its-kind convention centre with facilities for organising international conventions, exhibitions and business meet to promote tourism, commerce, trade and industry in the state’s coastal areas. The project work has already begun.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had laid the foundation stone of the project in July 11, 2017.

The project has been planned on a 5.5 acre land in New Digha comprising a 1000 sq/mt exhibition centre, a 300 capacity seminar hall, a conference room and a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 people. It will be a four-storey building with each floor planned to have an area of 1722 sq/mt.

 

২০১৮-য় দিঘায় কনভেনশন সেন্টার

নিউটাউনের পাশাপাশি সৈকত নগরী দিঘাতেও আন্তর্জাতিক মানের কনভেনশন সেন্টার তৈরি করছে রাজ্য সরকার। যা আগামী বছর উদ্বোধন হবে।

বাণিজ্য ও পর্যটনের মেলবন্ধন ঘটিয়েই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বণিকমহলকে আরও একটি কনভেনশন সেন্টার উপহার দিতে চান। নিউটাউনের অত্যাধুনিক কনভেনশন সেন্টারের পর এটি হবে আরও একটি চমক। এই সেন্টারটি তৈরি করতে খরচ হচ্ছে আনুমানিক ৩৫০ কোটি টাকা। আনুমানিক ১০০০ জনের বসার জায়গা থাকবে।

কার্যত বাণিজ্যিক সম্মেলনের দরজা খুলে দিতেই পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার পর্যটননগরীতে এমন প্রাসাদপ্রমাণ বাণিজ্য সেন্টার খোলা হচ্ছে, যা রাজ্যের উন্নয়নের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে লগ্নিকারীদেরও আকর্ষণ করবে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee performed Kali Puja at her residence at Kalighat last night.

The CM, who was fasting during the day and prepared ‘bhog’, played host to a large number of guests including VVIPs, cabinet colleagues, politicians and commoners last night.

The puja has been performed at her house for several decades now.

 

কালীঘাটের বাড়িতে কালীপুজো করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

কালীঘাটে নিজের বাড়িতে কালীপুজো করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বহুদশক ধরে তার বাড়িতে হয়ে আসছে এই পুজো। এবারেও কোনো অন্যথা হয়নি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী পুজো উপলক্ষে সারাদিন উপোস করেন এবং ভোগও রান্না করেন। কালীপুজো উপলক্ষে তার বাড়িতে সমাগম হয় বহু মানুষের।

মন্ত্রী থেকে সাধারণ মানুষ – অভ্যাগত অতিথিদের আপ্যায়নে কোনও খামতি রাখেননি মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a number of Kali Puja pandals. Speaking on the occasion, she once again communal politics of the BJP.

She said that the BJP is doing communal politics and is trying to divide people on the basis of religion, something which the people of Bengal won’t tolerate. The BJP is doing this because it does not have any acceptance here.

She said she has nothing but hate for those who use others’ religious beliefs to hold on to their existence. It is a personal matter as to who wants to follow which religion; nobody can force a belief on another person. It is the duty of those in power to unite people, not divide them.

Many people intentionally keep beef inside temples and then spread the rumour that someone has done it hurt religious beliefs. One of them was caught red-handed and had admitted that he was a BJP member. Therefore the Chief Minister asked everyone not to fall into the trap of communal misinformation.

She said that the colour of the blood of both Hindus and Muslims was the same – red. In Bengal, people of different religious denominations and beliefs stay in unity. Hence, she appealed to everyone to stay together in peace.

মঙ্গলবার শহরে একাধিক কালীপুজোর উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সেখান থেকে আরও একবার কেন্দ্রের বিজেপি সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

ধর্মের নামে ভেদাভেদের রাজনীতি করছে বিজেপি যা বাংলায় বরদাস্ত করা হবে না। বিজেপির কোন গ্রহণযোগ্যতা নেই তাই ওরা গুরুত্ব পেতে ভাগাভাগির রাজনীতি করছে। তাঁর কথায়, “যারা নিজেদের অস্তিত্ব বজায় রাখতে ধর্মকে বিক্রি করে তাদের আমি ঘৃণা করি। কে কোন ধর্ম পালন করবে সেটা তাঁর ব্যক্তিগত বিষয়। কেউ চাইলেই কিছু চাপিয়ে দিতে পারে না। চেয়ারে যারা থাকে মানুষের মধ্যে ভেদাভেদ তাদের মানায় না, সকলকে একজোট করে রাখতে হবে”।

“অনেকে মন্দিরে গরুর মাংস ফেলে যায়। আবার নিজেরাই তার প্রচার করে অশান্তি ছড়ায়। একজন হাতে নাতে ধরা পড়েছিল এবং সে যে বিজেপির সদস্য তাও স্বীকার করেছিল।” তাই মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সতর্কবার্তা কোনও প্ররোচনায় পা দেবেন না।

তাঁর কথায়, “হিন্দু মুসলমান সকলের রক্তই এক। বাংলায় বিভিন্ন ধর্মের, বিভিন্ন বর্ণের মানুষ বাস করে”। তাই সবাইকে নিয়ে একসাথে চলার আবেদন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee today held an all-party meeting with Hill parties at Nabanna. Addressing the media after the meeting, she said it was constructive and positive. The next meeting will be held at Pintail Village (in Darjeeling district) on 21 November at 4 PM.

Excerpts of her statement:

We all want peace and normalcy to be restored in Darjeeling. We are working towards finding a permanent solution. Darjeeling is an inseparable part of Bengal.

The Centre unilaterally decided to withdraw central forces from Darjeeling, without even informing the State. We were not consulted. This is unfortunate and shocking.

There were 11 companies in Darjeeling earlier; after the order of honourable Calcutta High Court, they sent 4 more. Out of these, 7 companies are being withdrawn. This is a violation of court’s order. This decision is bad both politically as well as administratively. We must extend all cooperation to the people of the Hills.

BJP is stoking tension in Darjeeling. Does the Centre not want normalcy to be restored in the Hills? One leader of the BJP went to Darjeeling and then came this decision. I think this decision was taken based on BJP’s party report. This was a political decision of BJP, not an administrative decision of the Centre. This is political game plan, a conspiracy to divide Bengal.

Few neighbouring countries and states, some insurgent groups from the North Eastern States are aiding these people in inciting violence in Darjeeling. We have all the evidence. We lost one of our officers of the Bengal Police; the BJP did not offer any condolence.

I have written to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on this issue. I hope justice will be done. The number of central forces deployed in Bengal is much lesser than other States:

Jammu & Kashmir: 402 companies
Chhatisgarh: 252 companies
Jharkhand: 144 companies
NE States: 120 (excluding Army)
Delhi: 50 companies
Odisha: 84 companies
Bihar: 48 companies
Bengal: 15 coils of which 7 are withdrawn

Why is Bengal being discriminated against? Just because we speak against the BJP? How many central forces were given to Haryana during the violence by Gurmeet Ram Rahim supporters? Is it not the duty of the Centre to provide forces when States seek them?

This is an insult to Bengal. This is an insult to the people of the Hills. They want justice. They want peace. They want unity. They want integrity.

 

 

বাংলা ভাগের চক্রান্ত করছে বিজেপি: মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

 

আজ পাহাড়ের সব দলগুলি নিয়ে বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান আজকের বৈঠক ইতিবাচক ও গঠনমূলক হয়েছে। পরবর্তী বৈঠক ২১ নভেম্বর বিকেল ৪ টেয় দার্জিলিং জেলার পিনটেল ভিলেজে হবে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

অশান্তি নয় আমরা দাজিলিং এর উন্নয়ন শান্তি চাই। এই সমাধান করার চেষ্টা করছি এবং আমরাই এর সমাধান করব । দার্জিলিং বাংলার অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ।

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার রাজ্যকে না জানিয়ে কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী তুলে নিয়েছে, আমরা এই ঘটনায় হতবাক, এটা অপ্রত্যাশিত । রাজ্যের সঙ্গে কোনও রকম আলোচনা করেনি। আমরা এই ঘটনায় আমরা খুশি নই, এটা দুর্ভাগ্যজনক।

দার্জিলিঙে আগে ১১ টি বাহিনী ছিল; কোর্ট নির্দেশ দেওয়ার পর সব মিলিয়ে মোট ১৫ টি বাহিনী দিয়েছিল কেন্দ্র। তাঁর মধ্যে ৭ টি বাহিনী প্রত্যাহার করে নিয়েছে। রাজনৈতিক ও প্রশাসনিকভাবে এটা খারাপ সিদ্ধান্ত। এর মাধ্যমে আদালতের অবমাননা করা হয়েছে। আমাদের উচিত পাহাড়বাসীর সাথে সহযোগিতা করা।

বারবার বিজেপি দার্জিলিঙে অশান্তি ছড়াচ্ছে। কেন্দ্র কি চায় না দার্জিলিং এ শান্তি ফিরে আসুক? আমার মনে হয় এটা বিজেপির দলীয় সিদ্ধান্ত, সরকারি সিদ্ধান্ত নয়। আমরা এই সিদ্ধান্ত মানব না। এটা পলিটিকাল গেম প্ল্যান , বাংলাকে ভাগ করার চক্রান্ত।

বিজেপি-র এক নেতা দার্জিলিং গেলেন আর তারপরে সেখানে কি কি হল সবাই দেখেছেন। ওখানে কিছু প্রতিবেশি দেশ ও রাজ্য থেকে মদত দেওয়া হচ্ছে। উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের কিছু বিচ্ছিন্নতাবাদী সংগঠন মদত দিচ্ছে, অস্ত্র সরবরাহ করছে। আমাদের কাছে সমস্ত তথ্যপ্রমাণ আছে।

আমরা আমদের মাথা নত দেব না। আমাদের অফিসার মারা গেছেন ওরা কোনও সমবেদনা জানায় নি। আমি প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীকে চিঠি দিয়েছি, ব্যাপারটি গুরুত্ব দিয়ে দেখার জন্য আবেদন জানিয়েছি। আশা করি আমরা সঠিক বিচার পাব।

বাংলার প্রতি কেন এই বঞ্চনা? অন্য রাজ্য থেকে থেকে কেন কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী প্রত্যাহার করা হচ্ছে না? রাজ্যের সাহায্য দরকার হলে তাকে সাহায্য করা কি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কর্তব্য নয়?

রাম রহিমের সময় হরিয়ানাকে কত কোম্পানি দিয়েছিলি? যেহেতু বাংলা বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলে তাই এত বঞ্চনা? এটা বাংলার বড় অপমান, বাংলার পাহাড়ের মানুষের অপমান। পাহাড়ের মানুষ ন্যায় চায়, শান্তি চায়, একতা চায়।

The State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC), under the Bengal Fisheries Department, has started the facility of ordering fish online and through SMS. From rohu to catla to bata to all the favourite fishes of Bengalis, are now available from the comfort of one’s home.

The fishes are delivered the day after being ordered. They are delivered on motorbikes, fitted with freezer units to keep the fishes fresh.

Since the fish are procured directly from the fishery cooperatives under the Fisheries Department, they are available at a price cheaper that in the markets. For now, the service is available in Salt Lake and New Town.

এবার এসএমএসের মাধ্যমে এবং অনলাইনে মাছের অর্ডার দেওয়া যাবে

রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর এবার জনগণের জন্য আনল এক বিশেষ পরিষেবা। এবার এসএমএসের মাধ্যমে অনলাইনে মাছের অর্ডার দিতে পারবে যে কেউ। রুই, কাতলা বা বাটা মাছ সবই মিলবে অনলাইনে।

যেদিন অর্ডার দেওয়া হবে তার পরের দিনই মাছ পৌঁছে দেওয়া হবে ফ্রিজযুক্ত মোটরসাইকেলে করে।

যেহেতু এই মাছগুলি মৎস্য দপ্তরের অন্তর্গত মৎস্য সমবায়গুলি থেকে পাওয়া যায়, বাজারের থেকে এই মাছের দাম কম হবে। এই মুহুর্তে এই পরিষেবা সল্টলেক ও নিউটাউনে শুরু করা হয়েছে।

The West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board (WBKVIB) is constructing a ‘Common Production Centre’ for machine-making nolen gur, which are sold in tubes.

The manufacturing centre is coming up in Majdia in Nadia distirct. Till now, the gur for selling in tubes was made by hand, in the traditional way. Now, to increase the amount of gur being produced, automation is being introduced. This would also result in employment.

Two years back, WBKVIB had introduced an all-time favourite item of Bengalis’ – nolen gur – in tubes, like toothpaste tubes. The tubed gur is easy to use and store, and for this reason has become very popular.

WBKVIB falls under the administrative control of the Micro and Small Scale Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles Department of the Bengal Government.

Another good news for those buying the nolen gur tubes is that recently, the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) has increased the expiry period of the tubed gur from 120 days to 180 days, that is, from four months to six months.

নলেন গুড়ের ‘কমন প্রোডাকশন সেন্টার’ গড়ছে রাজ্য 

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ড একটি নলেন গুড়ের ‘কমন প্রোডাকশন সেন্টার’ গড়ছে যেখানে যন্ত্রের মাধ্যমে নলেন গুড় তৈরি হবে, যেগুলি টিউবে করে বিক্রি হবে।

এটি তৈরি হচ্ছে নদীয়া জেলার মাজদিয়ায়। এখনও পর্যন্ত যে নলেন গুড় টিউবে বিক্রি হয়, তা হাতে তৈরি হত। এখন উৎপাদন বাড়াতে নেওয়া হবে যন্ত্রের সাহায্য। এর ফলে বাড়বে কর্মসংস্থান।

দু’বছর আগে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ড প্রথম বাজারে আনে টিউবের মাধ্যমে নলেন গুড়। যেহেতু এই গুড় সংরক্ষণ ও ব্যবহার করা খুব সহজ, তাই দুবছরেই এটি বেশ জনপ্রিয়তা লাভ করেছে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ডকে প্রশাসনিক ভাবে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটির শিল্প ও বস্ত্র দপ্তর।

আরও সুখবর হল এই যে, সম্প্রতি ইন্ডিয়ান স্কুল অফ প্যাকেজিং এই গুড়ের মেয়াদ ১২০ দিন থেকে বাড়িয়ে করেছে ১৮০ দিন।

The Bengal Government has been taking a lot of steps to help the traditional patachitra artistes of Bengal.

Patachitra is a form of art which presents paintings on scrolls or flat canvases depicting mythological tales or narrating current events. A unique aspect of this art form is that it is not just that the paintings are presented, but the artiste also sings songs to describe the events depicted. Patachitra artistes have been traditional fares at fairs across rural Bengal for centuries.

The State Government has also been educating the artistes about the need to make their art form hum in tune with the times.

Artistes are now making patachitra paintings on various articles of clothing, like on shirts, kurtas, dhotis, sarees, hand fans and even on umbrellas. Some sarees may have the full story of the Ramayana or just aspects of it or indigenous folk tales, like the story about a marriage of fishes.

According to an artiste, the State Government has been doing a lot to spread awareness about the art form across the country. He said that because of the opportunities being provided, he has been able to go to three states to sell his creations. He also raised another important point about the preservation of the art form – that the songs which the artistes sing while presenting their paintings also needs to be preserved; this is the way to comprehensively preserve the art form.

The government has also been sending delegations of patachitra artistes to various exhibitions and fairs in other countries.

সরকারের উদ্য্যগে পটশিল্পকে বাঁচানোর চেষ্টা

দেশের অন্যতম প্রাচীন শিল্প হচ্ছে ‘পটশিল্প ‘যা এখন প্রায় বিলুপ্তির পথে।দেশের অন্যতম প্রাচীন শিল্পকে নিয়ে বিদেশের মাটিতে প্রচার চালাচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই শিল্পকে জিইয়ে রাখতে বিভিন্ন ধরনের মেলায় মেলায় ঘুরে বেড়ান এই পটশিল্পীরা। নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে আরও আকর্ষণীয় করতে নতুন মোড়কে ,নতুন চমকে পটশিল্পকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। তাই ব্যবহারের সামগ্রীর ওপর এই পটচিত্র তৈরি করা হচ্ছে।

আজকের প্রজন্মের মধ্যে এই শিল্পকে ছড়িয়ে দিতে শার্ট ,কুর্তা ,কুর্তি ,শাড়ি,হাতপাখা ও সর্বোপরি ছাতাতেও পটশিল্পের চল শুরু হয়েছে। কোনও শাড়ির মধ্যে পুরো রামায়ণের কাহিনি ,কখনও বা মাছের বিয়ের কাহিনি তুলে ধরা হয় ছাতার মাধ্যমে।এছাড়াও সীতাহরণ ,রাম রাবনের যুদ্ধ ,রামের বনবাসের কাহিনি তুলে ধরা হয় এই পটভূমিতে।

এক চিত্রকার বলেন ,’পটশিল্পকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখার জন্য রাজ্য সরকার অনেক কিছু করেছে। আমি নিজে এখন ভিনরাজ্য গিয়ে গান গেয়ে পট তৈরি করে বিক্রি করার সুযোগ পেয়েছি। তবে প্রত্যেক পটের আলাদা আলাদা কাহিনি রয়েছে। যা তৎকালীন ও বর্তমান সমাজের ওপর ভিত্তি করে তৈরি হয়। শুধুমাত্র ছবি আঁকলেই হয় না ,পটের গানকেও বাঁচাতে হবে ,তবেই এই পটসঙ্গীত বেঁচে থাকবে’।
