Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee today addressed the extended core committee meeting at Nazrul Mancha.
In her speech, she attacked the Centre on demonetisation and hasty implementation of GST. She termed demonetisation “the biggest scam” and asked party workers to observe ‘Black Day’ on November 8 (the anniversary of demonetisation).
She also slammed the Opposition in Bengal for their negative politics.
Here are 20 things that Mamata Banerjee said at Trinamool’s extended core committee meeting:
- The festive season was peaceful without any untoward incident anywhere. Despite so many provocations and conspiracies, attempts to incite riots and violence were thwarted by the people. Credit must go to the local clubs, puja committees and administration.
- Trinamool did not come power by sitting on armchairs. There is no room for complacency. Trinamool stands for mass movement. Trinamool stands for people. Trinamool stands for struggle. We lost thousands of our party workers. The new generation must be aware of the history of the party. I have documented our struggles in my books.
- Listen to what people are saying on social media. Reach out to them. We are a pro-people party. We will never take any decision which is against the interests of the people.
- There is no place for groupism or ego-fights in Trinamool. We will not tolerate anti-party activities. Party discipline is foremost. If you cannot follow it, you are free to leave. It is difficult to earn respect but very easy to lose it. A true leader is one who has people by their side. Workers are our biggest assets.
- The media in Delhi is controlled by the ruling party at Centre. They cannot open their mouth against the Centre. If they dare to do so, they are threatened by the agencies like ED and CBI. The American can criticise Trump but the Indian media does not speak against Modi.
- The Centre is running a dictatorial regime. They cannot break the TMC with intimidations and politics of coercion. We will speak out against any injustice.
- The Opposition in Bengal does not play a constructive role. All the three parties have joined hands to fight us. Ram-Shyam and Ghanshyam have come together to form a ghont (unholy alliance).
- There is blatant use of money power by the Centre. The ruling party is using black money to finish off all small parties. They want only one party to exist. They are now buying votes with money power in Gujarat.
- We will observe ‘Kala Dibas’ (Black Day) in all blocks on November 8 to mark the anniversary of demonetisation. Rallies will be organised between 2-3 PM. Prepare slogans to reach out to people.
- Demonetisation is the biggest scam. There must be an investigation into it. I had tweeted within 45 minutes of the announcement. Today Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Arun Shourie are saying the same thing. Even eminent economists have spoken out against demonetisation.
- What purpose did demonetisation serve? Did it weed out black money? No. Did it put an end to terrorism? No. Only one party converted its black money into white. They have also stashed away their black money abroad.
- I have also received threats for speaking out. They threaten to use the CBI against me. Let them do whatever they want to. In Tagore’s words, this ‘monihar’ (necklace of gems) – referring to CBI – will turn into ‘bishhar’ (necklace of poison) once they are out of power.
- They are coercing people to link their Aadhaar with their mobile number. This is their tactic. Even a private conversation between a husband and wife will now be pried on. Will there be no privacy left? I refuse to link my mobile number with Aadhaar. Left the service providers cut off my connection if necessary.
- People are now scared of the phrase “mitron”. They keep harping on about their 56 inch ‘chhati’ (chest). We don’t need a ‘chhati’. We need a ‘chhata’ (umbrella) of unity that gives protection to people.
- Despite a huge burden of debt (around Rs 2 lakh crore), we are carrying out all developmental programmes and schemes. 8.5 crore people receive rice at Rs 2/kg under Khadya Sathi. We have distributed 70 lakh cycles under Sabuj Sathi scheme. We have distributed scholarships under Siksha Shree scheme to 1.14 crore students. Over a crore minority students have received scholarships. We have distributed 15 lakh saplings under Sabuj Shree scheme. Healthcare is free in Bengal.
- After the floods, Assam and Bihar got financial aid from the Centre. We don’t begrudge them. But Bengal was not given a single penny. Why? Because BJP is in power in these States and not in Bengal? They are systematically destroying the federal structure.
- Bengal has been vocal against the hasty implementation of GST. But the Centre did not listen to us. And now the small and medium enterprises have been badly hit. The system was not prepared at all. About 50% people could not do uplinking. Total system failure. Almost 1 lakh people lost their jobs in Surat alone.
- The Centre is manipulating growth figures. The GDP growth has fallen from 7% to 5.7% in the last quarter. They have zero performance. They only speak the language of riots and violence.
- We will keep raising the issues concerning people. We will bring them up in Parliament. They threaten to put us in jail; let them do it. We will not bow down.
- We are a pro-people party. People are our strength. Trinamool is like a big banyan tree that gives shade to all. People are the ultimate judge in a democracy.

আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের বর্ধিত কোর কমিটি বৈঠকে বক্তব্য করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। মঞ্চ থেকে কেন্দ্রকে তীব্র ভাষায় আক্রমণ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
ওনার বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ
১. বাংলায় সব উৎসব আমাদের নিজেদের মতো করে পালন করি। সকলকে অনেক শুভেচ্ছা। এত চক্রান্ত, প্ররোচনা সত্ত্বেও উৎসবের দিনগুলি শান্তি পূর্ণ ভাবে কেটেছে। সেজন্য সকল লোকাল ক্লাব, পুজো কমিটি সহ সব সাধারণ মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ।
২. তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস আরাম কেদারায় বসে ক্ষমতায় আসেনি। অনেক সংগ্রাম, ত্যাগ করে ক্ষমতায় এসেছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। হাজার হাজার কর্মী প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন, ঘর ছাড়া হয়েছেন। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সংগঠিত, সুশৃঙ্খল দল। মানুষকে নিয়ে কাজ করাই হচ্ছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের লক্ষ্য।
৩. তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস মানে মা-মাটি-মানুষ, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস মানে সংগ্রাম, আন্দোলন, জনগণ। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস যা করেছে সমগ্র রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে কেউ করে দেখাতে পারবে না। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস কেন তৈরি হয়েছিল, ১৯৯৩ সাল থেকে তার সংগ্রামের কথা আমি লিপিবদ্ধ করে রেখেছি ছাত্র যুবদের জন্য। আমরা প্রতি বছরের কার্যকলাপ লিপিবদ্ধ করে রাখি।
৪. সোশ্যাল নেটওয়ার্কে খোঁজ রাখতে হবে, মানুষ কি ভাবছে জানতে হবে। যে কাজ জনগণের পক্ষে সেটাই আমরা করব। যে কাজ জনগণের পক্ষে নয় তা আমরা করব না।
৫. তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসে গ্রুপ করার, দল বিরোধী কাজ করার কোন জায়গা নেই। আমরা প্রগতিশীল ভাবধারা নিয়ে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস তৈরি করেছি। যার মধ্যে যা ভালো জিনিস আছে আমরা তা গ্রহণ করেছি। সুনাম অর্জন করতে অনেক সময় লাগে কিন্তু বদনাম করতে এক সেকেন্ড সময় লাগে। সবাইকে নিয়ে যে চলে সেই নেতা। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের কর্মীরাই দলের সম্পদ।
৬. দিল্লি মিডিয়াকে কন্ট্রোলে রেখেছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার, তারা ওদের বিরুদ্ধে মুখ খুলতে পারে না; যদি কেউ বলে ফেলে তাকে জব্দ করার জন্য তার বাড়িতে ইনকাম ট্যাক্স বা সিবিআই বা ইডি পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। আমেরিকার মিডিয়া যেভাবে ট্রাম্পের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করেছে ভারতের মিডিয়া তা করতে পারে না। কারণ তাদের ভয় দেখানো হচ্ছে, খুন করা হচ্ছে।
৭. যেভাবে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের স্বৈরতান্ত্রিক চাবুক চলছে, যারা স্বচ্ছতা, সাহসিকতা, সংগ্রামের সাথে রাজনীতি, আন্দোলন করে তাদের জন্য তা বিষময় হয়ে দাঁড়াচ্ছে। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার টাকা আর এজেন্সির জোরে, অত্যাচার, চক্রান্ত করে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসকে ভাঙতে পারবে না। আমরা অন্যায়ের প্রতিবাদ করবই।
৮. বাংলায় যে কটা বিরোধী দল আছে ওরা শুধু নেগেটিভ রোল প্লে করে। সব দল মিলিত হয়েছে আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে। ভোট এলেই রাম-শ্যাম-ঘনশ্যাম ৩টি দল এক হয়ে গেল।
৯. কাউকে প্রচুর টাকা দিয়ে, কাউকে ভয় দেখিয়ে কিনে নিচ্ছে। ভারতবর্ষকে নিয়ে কোটি কোটি টাকার, কালবাজারির খেলা চলছে যাতে সব ছোট রাজনৈতিক দলগুলি শেষ হয়ে যায় আর একমাত্র দাঙ্গাকারী দলটি বেঁচে থাকে। গুজরাতে ক্ষমতায় আসার জন্য টাকা দিয়ে ভোট কিনছে।
১০. আগামী ৮ই নভেম্বর দুপুর ২-৩ টেয় নোট বাতিলের এক বছর উপলক্ষে ব্লকে ব্লকে ‘কালা দিবস’ পালন করা হবে। নোটবাতিল ঘোষণার ৪৫ মিনিটের মধ্যে আমি টুইট করে যা বলেছিলাম আজ মনমোহন সিং, পি চিদাম্বরম, অরুন শৌরি সহ সব অর্থনীতিবিদরা একই কথা বলছে।
১১. নোটবাতিল সবচেয়ে বড় কেলেঙ্কারি।এর তদন্ত হওয়া উচিত। এটি দুর্নীতির ধন্দ। কালো টাকা আজ পর্যন্ত উদ্ধার হয়নি। দুর্নীতি আজ পর্যন্ত রোখেনি। টেররিজম আজ পর্যন্ত রোখেনি। নোট বাতিলের ফলে সবার ক্ষতি হয়েছে, লাভ শুধু একটা দলেরই হয়েছে, যত ব্ল্যাক মানি সব সাদা হয়ে গেছে। নিজেদের টাকা বিদেশে মজুত করেছে।
১২. আমাকেও থ্রেট করা হয় এটা ওটা বলা যাবে না। ট্যাক্টফুলি সারদা নারদা করা হয়েছে তৃণমূলকে হিউমিলিয়েট করার জন্য। আমাদের পেছনে সিবিআই, ইডি লাগায় তাও আমরা প্রতিবাদ করে যাই। আজ যে মনিহার গলায় পোরে বসে আছে, যেদিন ক্ষমতায় থাকবে না, এই মণিহার বিশধর হারে পরিণত হবে।
১৩. মোবাইলেও আধার কার্ড দিতে হবে। স্বামী স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে কি কথা বলবে সেটা ট্যাপ করে পার্টি অফিসে পাঠিয়ে দেবে। মানুষের সব অধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়া হচ্ছে। মোবাইলের সঙ্গে আধার কার্ড নম্বর আমি দেব না, তাতে মোবাইল না থাকলে না থাকবে।
১৪. মিত্রোঁ বললেই মানুষ ভয় পেয়ে যাচ্ছে। কথায় কথায় কেউ বলছে আমার নেতার এত বড় ছাতি। আরে ছাতি চাই না, এই দেশকে একত্র করার ছাতা চাই।
১৫. মাথায় এত (প্রায় ২লক্ষ কোটি টাকা) দেনা নিয়ে এত প্রকল্প কোন একটা রাজ্য করে দেখাক। ২ টাকা কিলো চাল ৮.৫ কোটি লোক পায় খাদ্য সাথীতে, সবুজ সাথী সাইকেল ৭০ লক্ষ ছেলেমেয়েরা পেয়ে গেছে। শিক্ষাশ্রী প্রায় ১ কোটি ২৪ লক্ষ, সংখ্যালঘু স্কলারশিপ ১.৫ কোটি হয়ে যাবে। সবুজশ্রী প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ গাছের চারা ইতিমধ্যেই বিলি করা হয়েছে। আমাদের সরকার বিনা পয়সায় চিকিৎসা দেয়।
১৬. বন্যার পর আসাম, বিহার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে ত্রাণের টাকা পেল। কিন্তু বাংলা একটা টাকাও পেল না, যেহেতু বিজেপি সরকার নয়। টোটাল ডিস্ক্রিমিনেশন, ফেডেরাল স্ত্রাকচারে আননেসেসারিলি ইন্টারফেয়ারেন্স।
১৭. ৫০% লোক এখনও আপলিঙ্কিং করতে পারেনি জিএসটিতে। তার মানে সিস্টেম ফেলিওর। আমরা ছাড়া কেউ জিএসটির প্রতিবাদ করেনি। শুধু গুজ্রাটের সুরাটে ১লক্ষ লোক চাকরি হারিয়েছে। ছোট ও মাঝারি অনেক ব্যাবসা বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে।
১৮. দেশটাকে রসাতলে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। গত বছর এই সময় ৭.৯% গ্রোথ ছিল আর আজ সেখানে ৫.৭% এই কোয়ার্টারে। কোনও পারফরমেন্স নেই। কেউ কেউ বলছে পালিশ করে দেব, মেরে দেব, এমন ভাষা ওদের নিজস্ব। ওদের ভাষা দাঙ্গা, গুন্ডামি করার।
১৯. আমরা মানুষের কথা তুলে ধরবই। পার্লামেন্টেও কথা তুলব। আমরা প্রতিবাদ করব। তাতে যদি সবাইকে জেলে পোরে, পুরুক। আমরা মাথা নত করব না।
২০. আমাদের সরকার জনগণের সরকার, আমরা প্রো-পিপল। মানুষই আমাদের শক্তি। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস একটা বটবৃক্ষ। মানুষই তৃণমূলের একমাত্র গণ দেবতা।
