That time of the year is around the corner once again when Kolkata will play host to the grand Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF). It is accepted by one and all that this is one of the best film festivals in India, and it is also the one with the highest prize money.

The Bengal Government has made all the arrangements to make this another successful festival. The dates this time are November 10 to 17.

All through the eight days, films will be shown at 12 auditoria – Nandan 1, 2 and 3, Rabindra Sadan, Sisir Mancha, Navina Cinema, Star Theatre, Mitra Cinema, Inox at Salt Lake City Centre 1 Mall, Purbashree Auditorium at Salt Lake EZCC, Nazrul Tirtha and PVR Mani Square.

The festival is organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Bengal Government.

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and famous British director Michael Winterbottom in attendance, the government has also managed another coup of sorts by getting to screen a rare Godard film. This will be the first screening of the film in India.

Titled Rise and Fall of Small Film Company, Godard made this film for television, and was screened in 1986. According to many cine buffs, this is a watershed moment for an Indian film festival.

Among the films of Winterbottom that will be screened are Trishna, On the Road and Welcome to Sarajevo.

২৩ তম কলকাতা আন্তর্জাতিক চলচ্চিত্র উৎসব সফল করতে উদ্যোগী রাজ্য সরকার

পুজোর মরশুম যত শেষ হওয়ার দিকে এগোয়, কলকাতার চলচ্চিত্রমোদীদের মনের উড়ুউড়ু ভাবটা ততই বাড়তে থাকে। এবার অবশ্য পুজোর মরশুম এসে পড়েছিল কিছুটা আগেই। তাই শেষও হবে আগেভাগে। কিন্তু হেমন্ত যতই এগিয়ে আসছে, ততই তার সঙ্গে কাছে এসে পড়ছে কলকাতা আন্তর্জাতিক চলচ্চিত্র উৎসব। এবার তাঁর বয়স হবে ২৩।

প্রতিবারের মতো এবারও নভেম্বরের ১০ থেকে ১৭ তারিখ পর্যন্ত চলবে এই উৎসব। সিনেমোদীদের আগ্রহ থাকে কোন কোন নতুন পরিচালকের ছবি দেখানো হবে, কার কার রেট্রোস্পেকটিভ হবে, কোন কোন নতুন দেশের ছবি দেখা যাবে- সে সব নিয়ে। সব তথ্য পাওয়া যাবে অনলাইনে।

কলকাতা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফিল্ম ফেস্টিভ্যালে দুটি আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতা বিভাগ শুরু হয়েছিল আগেই। তার একটি উইমেন ডিরেক্টরস’ ফিল্মস অন্যটি ইনোভেশনস ইন মুভিং ইমেজেস। এবছর শুরু হচ্ছে আরও একটি নতুন প্রতিযোগিতা বিভাগ, ন্যাশনাল কম্পিটিশন সেকশন। এর আগে ন্যাশনাল শর্ট ফিল্ম কম্পিটিশন ও ন্যাশনাল ডকুমেন্টারি ফিল্ম কম্পিটিশন থাকলেও এই বিভাগটি ছিল না।

৮দিনে ১২টি প্রেক্ষাগৃহে উৎসবের সিনেমাগুলি দেখানো হবে। এই প্রেক্ষাগৃহগুলি হল, নন্দন ১,২,৩, রবীন্দ্র সদন, শিশির মঞ্চ, নবীনা সিনেমা, স্টার থিয়েটার, মিত্রা সিনেমা, সল্ট লেক সিটি সেন্টারের আইনক্স, সল্ট লেক ইজেডসিসি পূর্বশ্রী অডিটোরিয়াম, নজরুল তীর্থ, মণি স্কোয়ারের পিভিআর।

অমিতাভ বচ্চন, শাহরুখ খান, কাজল ও ব্রিটিশ ডিরেক্টর উইন্টারবোটম ছাড়াও, আরও চমক থাকছে দর্শকদের জন্য। গদার্দ-এর একটি দুষ্প্রাপ্য সিনেমা ভারতে এই প্রথমবার দেখানো হবে ফেস্টিভ্যালে। ‘রাইজ অ্যান্ড ফল অফ স্মল ফিল্ম কোম্পানি’ গদার্দের এই সিনেমাটি ১৯৮৬ সালে প্রথমবার টিভি’র পর্দায় দেখানো হয়েছিল।

ব্রিটিশ ডিরেক্টর উইন্টারবোটমের ‘তৃষ্ণা’, ‘অন দা রোড’ ও ‘ওয়েলকাম তো সারাজেভো’ এই উৎসবে দেখানো হবে।

Over the last few years, the annual food festival, Ahare Bangla at the Milan Mela fairground has become very popular. This annual fair held at the beginning of winter has drawn droves of food-lovers to taste some wonderful delicacies.

And not just selling food, the fair has also enabled businesses to explore new avenues and has thus, generated employment opportunities. Using their massive sales at Ahare Bangla as a plank, quite a few hotels and restaurants have been able to establish bases outside Bengal.

The State Animal Husbandry Department, which organises the fair, is busy now making preparations for holding the fair. That it has been an unqualified success is apparent from another fact: the department’s budget for the fair has jumped from Rs 75 lakh in 2015 to Rs 2.24 crore in 2017. This year, along with Animal Husbandry, the departments of Fisheries, Agriculture Marketing, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), along with five others, are lending a helping hand in the organising of the food festival.

Last year, sales at the five-day long fair had crossed Rs 2 crore. This year, officials of the department are confident that the number will rise by a few times.

Last year, well-established restaurants and hotels from Russia, China, Japan and Bangladesh had taken part and were very happy with the response. This year too, quite a few countries would be represented. And of course, the best of Bengal is represented – be it food or restaurants.

শীতের আগে মহানগর মাতাবে আহারে বাংলা

খেয়ে খাইয়ে তুষ্টি, আবার কর্মসংস্থান ও ব্যবসা সম্প্রসারণের সুবর্ণ সুযোগ। দুয়ের জব্বর মেলবন্ধন করেছে আহারে বাংলা। রাজ্য সরকারের প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তরের সাড়া জাগানো পেটপুজো পার্বণ।

গত দু’বছর যাবত শীতের মুখে কলকাতায় পসরা সাজাচ্ছে আহারে বাংলা। দু’বছর আগে এই উদ্যোগের সূচনা কালে তার বাজেট ছিল ৭৫ লাখ টাকা। দু’বছর বাদে তাই বেড়ে গিয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ২ কোটি ২৪ লাখ টাকায়। গত বছর পাঁচ দিনের এই উৎসব বিকিকিনির বহর ২ কোটি টাকা ছাপিয়ে গেছিল। শুধু কদিনের মারকাটারি বিপণন নয়। আহারে বাংলার দীর্ঘমেয়াদি সুফলও বুঝতে পারা যাচ্ছে।

আহারে বাংলা’র হাত ধরেই বেশকিছু বাঙালি হোটেল, রেস্তোরাঁর রাজ্যের গন্ডি ছাড়িয়ে পড়েছে ভিন রাজ্যে। এবছরের আহারে বাংলা আশা করা যায় আগের বারের রেকর্ড ভাঙবে, জোর কদমে এখন থেকেই চলছে প্রস্তুতি।

প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তরের সঙ্গে হাত মিলিয়েছে মৎস্য, কৃষি বিপণন, ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটির শিল্প সহ আরও পাঁচটি দপ্তর। প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তরের আধিকারিকের কথায়, বর্ধমানের সীতাভোগ বা মিহিদানার সঙ্গে পাল্লা দিয়ে বিকোয় মুর্শিদাবাদের ছানাবড়া বা মেদিনীপুর নদীয়া কৃষ্ণনগরের মিষ্টি।

আগের বছর ভারতের সঙ্গে অংশ নিয়েছিল বাংলাদেশ, রাশিয়া, চীন, জাপানের বেশ কয়েকটি হোটেল, রেস্তোরাঁ। এবারও অংশ নেবে বিদেশী একাধিক সংস্থা। এবারে আহারে বাংলা ফুড ফেস্টিভালে দর্শকরাও তাদের মনপসন্দ রান্না করার সুযোগ পাবেন। শহরের সেরা শেফদের সামনে তারা তাদের রেসিপির দৌলতে জিতে নিতে পারবেন পুরস্কারও।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced recently that the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the governing body of Indian football, would establish its Centre of Excellence in Kolkata.

The Chief Minister has promised to allot 15 acres of land in Rajarhat for the purpose. The announcement was made at a gala dinner at Eco Park held the day before the final of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, in the presence of the FIFA president and his council members.

The tournament has been a huge success, and FIFA itself has acknowledged the fact, being the best-attended Under-17 World Cup ever. On top of that, with due credit to Mamata Banerjee and her active part in making the tournament a huge success in Kolkata, Kolkata has seen, by far, the highest average attendance for the matches.

As Mamata Banerjee announced through a Facebook message, out of the 13.47 lakh spectators in India who watched the matches, Kolkata had 6.08 lakh watching them at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. This is  more than 45 per cent of the total spectator count. Furthermore, the per match average spectator count in India was 25,906, while in Kolkata it was 55,345 – which is more than double.

দেশের প্রথম ফুটবল সেন্টার রাজারহাটে

ফুটবলে দেশের প্রথম সেন্টার অফ এক্সেলেন্সের জন্য রাজারহাটে ১৫ একর জমি দেবে রাজ্য সরকার৷ শুক্রবার ইকো পার্কে ফিফা প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়ানি ইনফান্তিনোর সামনে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই ঘোষণা করার পর সর্বভারতীয় ফুটবল ফেডারেশন প্রেসিডেন্ট বলেন, প্রস্তাবিত সেন্টার অফ এক্সেলেন্স কলকাতায় হবে৷ ফিফা প্রেসিডেন্টকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী অনুরোধ করেন, ‘অনূর্ধ্ব ২০ বিশ্বকাপ এখানে হলে রাজ্য সরকার পূর্ণ সহায়তা করবে৷’

কলকাতায় ফাইনাল করার জন্য ফিফা প্রেসিডেন্টকে ধন্যবাদ দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী৷ গালা ডিনারে ফেডারেশনের প্রেসিডেন্ট বলেন, ‘এখানে ফিফা কাউন্সিল মিটিং করার জন্য ফিফা প্রেসিডেন্টকে ধন্যবাদ৷ রাজারহাটে সেন্টার করার জন্য মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর জমি দেওয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতিতে খুশি আমরা৷ জমি পেলে খুব তাড়াতাড়ি সেন্টারের কাজ শুরু করব৷’

ফিফা প্রেসিডেন্ট বললেন, ‘মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কথা আমার হূদয় ছুঁয়ে গেল৷ এ ভাবে সবাই ফুটবলের জন্য কিছু করলে ভারতে ফুটবল পিছিয়ে থাকবে না৷ বিশ্বের ছয় ভাগ লোকের এক ভাগ লোকের বাস ভারতে৷ এখানে ফুটবল যদি গুরুত্ব পায়, তা হলে ভারত একদিন বিশ্ব ফুটবলে শাসন করবে৷ অন্য দেশগুলোর কাছে ভারত একটা উদাহরণ হয়ে থাকবে৷’

Congratulating her for successfully hosting the Under-17 Football World Cup, FIFA President Giovanni Vincenzo Infantino wrote to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday assuring assistance for the projects taken up for development of football. It may be mentioned that he had earlier appreciated the role of the Mamata Banerjee-government for developing an international standard infrastructure for the FIFA Under-17 Football World Cup. FIFA president reached Zurich on Friday and wrote to the Chief Minister.

The letter reads: “The FIFA delegation has now returned to Zurich with a host of unforgettable memories and having made many warm hearted new friendships during our stay in Kolkata for the final matches of the FIFA Under-17 Football World Cup in India and the FIFA Council meeting.” He further stated in the letter that: “Herewith, I would like to congratulate your government on its role in your country’s successful hosting of the FIFA Under-17 Football World Cup. I would also like to thank you on behalf of the entire FIFA delegation for affording us such a cordial welcome and warm hospitality as well as the all the moments shared together at the wonderful All India Football Federation (AIFF) gala dinner at the Eco Park and during the exciting final match between England and Spain last Sunday which I was very pleased and honoured to attain by your side at the Vivekananda Yuva Krirangan in Kolkata. The talks we had were marked by sincere friendship and mutual respect…about your vision of the important role that football plays in breaking down cultural and social barriers making the game accessible to all.”

It may be mentioned the Chief Minister had announced that the state government will be giving 15 acre land at new Town to AIFF to set up a national level football academy. In this connection, FIFA president wrote: “Herewith, I would also like to praise the remarkable work and efforts of the AIFF, who implements new plans for development of our sport in your country…and the construction of the AIFF National Centre of Excellence which will be realised on the 15 acres of land your government has kindly decided to give AIFF. I would like to thank you for this strong contribution towards supporting football development and promoting the values of our sport in your country. I can assure you that our stay in your country has given the fresh determination to provide any assistance from FIFA and the international football community that could be helpful in the realization of these development projects.”

 

 

রাজারহাটে ফুটবল উৎকর্ষ কেন্দ্র গড়তে ৭১ কোটি টাকা দিচ্ছে ফিফা, আয়োজনের প্রশংসা করে চিঠি দিল ফিফা

 

বাংলার আতিথেয়তায় মুগ্ধ ফিফা চিঠি পাঠালো মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে। রাজ্যে ফুটবল উৎকর্ষ কেন্দ্র গড়তে ১১ মিলিয়ন ডলার দেওয়ার কথা জানিয়েছে ফিফা। শুক্রবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে চিঠির মাধ্যমে একথা জানিয়েছেন ফিফা সভাপতি জিয়ানি ইনফ্যান্টিনো। ফাইনাল সহ যে কটি ম্যাচ যুবভারতীতে হয়েছে, তার জন্যও উচ্ছ্বসিত প্রশংসা করেছেন তিনি। ফুটবলের উন্নতির জন্য যেকোনোও সাহায্যে সব সময় পাশে থাকবে ফিফা, এটাও জানিয়েছেন।

জুরিখ থেকে পাঠানো চিঠিতে তিনি মমতার প্রতি অকুণ্ঠ ধন্যবাদ জানিয়েছেন। ইকো পার্কের গালা ডিনার এবং রাজ্যের সংস্কৃতি ও মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর আন্তরিকতাকে ফিফা সভাপতি অবিস্মরণীয় বলে উল্লেখ করেছেন। রাজারহাটে উৎকর্ষ কেন্দ্র তৈরির জন্য অল ইন্ডিয়া ফুটবল ফেডারেশনকে (এ আই এফ এফ) ১ টাকার বিনিময়ে লিজে ১৫ একর জমি দিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্যোগে এই ‘এ আই এফ এফ ন্যাশানাল ফুটবল সেন্টার ফর এক্সেলেন্স’ তৈরি হবে নিউটাউনের অ্যাকশন এরিয়া ২-তে। পরিকাঠামো তৈরির পুরো খরচ, যা হল ৭১ কোটি টাকা, দেবে ফিফা।

এই উৎকর্ষ কেন্দ্রে প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র তৈরির পাশাপাশি একটি আন্তর্জাতিক মানের স্টেডিয়ামও তৈরি হবে। বিভিন্ন তথ্য থেকে দেখা গেছে, অনুর্দ্ধ-১৭ বিষ কাপে

মাঠে খেলা দেখতে যাওয়া দর্শকের সংখ্যায় সর্বোচ্চ স্থানে ছিল কলকাতা। কলকাতার প্রতিটি খেলায় মাঠে হাজির হয়েছেন ৫৫ হাজারেরও বেশি দর্শক – পুরো দেশের নিরিখে ৪৫ শতাংশ।

The Bengal Government has introduced the ‘Banglar Bari’ project to provide flats to people living below poverty line (BPL) in municipality areas.

The government has decided to build four-storied buildings in municipal areas to ensure permanent shelter to people from financially weaker sections.

The buildings will be constructed by the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA). Priority will be given to families headed by women and financially weaker families whose monthly income is less than Rs 10,000.

The beneficiaries have to apply to SUDA to get a flat under the project. Local municipalities have to ensure that the beneficiaries are from the BPL category and that the applicants don’t have any concrete houses.

The project will immensely benefit people in the BPL category in urban areas under different municipalities.

 

 

১০ হাজার টাকা পর্যন্ত আয়ের মানুষদের পুর এলাকায় নিখরচায় ফ্ল্যাট দেবে রাজ্য

 

পুর এলাকার গরিব ও দুঃস্থ মানুষ, অর্থাৎ অর্থনৈতিকভাবে পিছিয়ে পড়া গৃহহীন অংশের (ইকোনমিক্যালি উইকার সেকশন) জন্য বহুতল আবাসন বানাচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্য মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উপস্থিতিতে গৃহীত হয়েছে এই সিদ্ধান্ত।

ভূমি ও গৃহহীনদের জন্য আবাসন তৈরির এই প্রকল্পের পোশাকি নাম ‘বাংলার বাড়ি’। এখানে হবে ‘জি প্লাস থ্রি’ আবাসন। প্রতিটি ফ্ল্যাট হবে ৩৮৫ বর্গফুট কার্পেট এরিয়ার। ফ্ল্যাট পাওয়ার জন্য উপভোক্তাকে এক পয়সাও দিতে হবে না। তাই উপভোক্তা বাছাইয়ের ক্ষেত্রে ইকোনমিক্যালি উইকার সেকশন(ইডব্লুএস) নির্ধারণের উল্লেখিত শর্তাবলী কঠোরভাবে মেনে চলার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন দপ্তর।

কোনও পুর এলাকায় যে পরিবারের কোনও জমি বা বাড়ি নেই এবং যে পরিবারের মাসিক আয় ১০ হাজার টাকা পর্যন্ত, কেবলমাত্র তারাই এই আবাসনে ফ্ল্যাটের জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবে। ফ্ল্যাটের আবেদন জানাতে হবে স্টেট আরবান ডেভেলপমেন্ট এজেন্সি (সুডা)-এর কাছে।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated people from different walks of life, from administration to police as well as the spectators for making the recently concluded Under-17 World Cup tournament a grand success.

She tweeted on Monday: “Kolkata achieves a unique position in the U-17 World Cup. Out of 13 lakh 47 thousand spectators in India who watched the U-17 matches in all the venues, Kolkata is the highest with 6 lakh 8 thousand watching it at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. This is more than 45% of the total spectator count. Next highest is Delhi with 19.78%. The per match spectator average in India is 25,906, while in Kolkata it is 55, 345- more than double. It is all about our passion for football and the excellent arrangements at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan. My best wishes to all.”

It may be mentioned that FIFA officials who had visited Kolkata had praised the stadium and the infrastructure. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took a personal interest and held a series of meetings with senior officials of different departments to make the U-17 World Cup a grand success.

Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had kept the area outside the stadium clean. The roadside gardens were decorated and roads were brightly illuminated. The police along with BMC specified the areas where the spectators could park their vehicles.
State Transport department deployed special buses to ferry the spectators to the venue from the districts as well as from different important points in the city. After the matches were over, the department provided buses so that the spectators coming from the district could return home safely.

There was heavy deployment of policemen outside the stadium and after the matches ended after 10 pm, the police guided the spectators to the respective areas from where the state-run buses left for different areas.

Coordination among various government departments coupled with Mamata Banerjee’s constant monitoring had made the event a grand success.

 

যুব বিশ্বকাপে দর্শকের সংখ্যা বিচারেও কলকাতা অনবদ্য: মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

বিষয়টা যখন খেলা, বিশেষত ফুটবল, তখন তা নিয়ে আবেগের বিচারে সারা দেশের মধ্যে কলকাতার অবস্থান অনবদ্য, এক নম্বরে। যুব বিশ্বকাপ উপলক্ষে সেই কথাটা আরও একবার প্রমাণ হল।

সোমবার ফেসবুক পোস্টে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় জানিয়েছেন, অনূর্ধ্ব ১৭ বিশ্বকাপে দেশের মধ্যে কলকাতায় সবচেয়ে বেশি দর্শক মাঠে এসেছেন। গোটা ভারতের বিভিন্ন স্টেডিয়ামে প্রায় ১৩ লক্ষ ৪৭ হাজার দর্শক মাঠে এসেছিলেন। কিন্তু, শুধুমাত্র কলকাতায় এসেছিলেন ৬ লক্ষ ৮ হাজার দর্শক। যা মোট দর্শকের প্রায় ৪৫ শতাংশ। এরপরই রয়েছে দিল্লির স্থান। দিল্লিতে মোট দর্শকের ১৯.৭৮ শতাংশ মাঠে এসেছিলেন। এছাড়াও প্রতিটি ম্যাচে গোটা দেশে গড়ে যেখানে ২৫ হাজার ৯০৬ জন দর্শক মাঠে এসেছিলেন, সেখানে কলকাতায় প্রতিটি ম্যাচে গড়ে ৫৫ হাজার ৩৪৫ জন দর্শক মাঠে এসেছেন। অর্থাৎ, দ্বিগুণেরও বেশি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেছেন, ফুটবলের প্রতি আমাদের আবেগ এবং যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনের সুষ্ঠু ব্যবস্থাপনার জন্যই এটা সম্ভবপর হয়েছে। এজন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

পরিবহণ দপ্তর সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, অন্যান্য খেলার দিন গড়ে ৬০০ বাস চালানো হলেও ফাইনালের জন্য ৭০০-র বেশি বাস রাস্তায় নামানো হয়েছিল। শুধু মিলনমেলা-উল্টোডাঙা বা করুণাময়ী-উল্টোডাঙা রুটে নয়, বারাসত, জোকা, বেহালা, দমদম, ডানলপসহ শহরতলির বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে দর্শকদের মাঠে এনেছে সরকারি বাস। একই সঙ্গে প্রতিটি বাসের লোকেশন ‘পথদিশা’ অ্যাপে দেওয়ায় যাত্রীদের সুবিধা হয়েছে বলেই অনেকে মনে করছেন।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that some people were trying to create panic regarding dengue outbreak in the state and asserted that her government was taking adequate measures to combat the situation. She said that so far 40 people have died in the state due to vector-borne diseases.

“There is no need to panic. Some people are trying to create a panic with a vested interest. We are monitoring the situation 24 hours. The government is taking all measures to control the situation and provide relief to the people. Some doctors are also working 24 hours. We have also alerted all municipalities to launch special drive to kill mosquitoes,” Mamata Banerjee said after holding a meeting with state health department officials at state secretariat.

The Chief Minister said that so far 13 dengue deaths have been verified by the state government and examining other potential dengue deaths reports. “So far 13 people have been died due to dengue in government hospitals. These deaths have been verified as dengue deaths. We have also received a report of 20 deaths which were caused by malaria, dengue or swine flu. These deaths occurred in private hospitals and we are yet to verify the reports” she said.

The Chief Minister informed that deaths caused by vector-borne diseases in West Bengal were less compared to other states:

  • Gujarat: 435
  • Maharashtra: 695
  • Rajasthan: 230
  • Uttar Pradesh: 165
  • Madhya Pradesh: 141
  • Kerala: 111
  • Assam: 87
  • Odisha: 83

 

The Chief Minister said that she will not hesitate to take action against municipalities which will be seen not taking measures to combat the dengue outbreak despite receiving funds from the state health department.

“Taking care of the people is my priority. I will not compromise on that. The Opposition is trying to take political mileage out of it. We have to be human first,” she added.

আজ নবান্নে ডেঙ্গু সহ বিভিন্ন অজানা জ্বর নিয়ে পর্যালোচনা বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

ব্লকে ব্লকে ডেঙ্গু সচেতনতা কর্মসূচী নেওয়া হচ্ছে। দমদম বিধাননগর, ভাঙ্গড় সহ কিছু কিছু জায়গায় বিশেষ নজর দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

আমাদেরও সচেতন হতে হবে। ফুলের টব, বালতি, বাগান – কোথাও জল জমতে দেবেন না । সংবাদমাধ্যমকেও অনুরোধ করব সচেতনতা প্রচার করার।

অকারণে প্যানিক করার কারণ নেই, আবহাওয়া, বৃষ্টিও ডেঙ্গুরর জন্য কিছুটা দায়ী।

ডেঙ্গু চরিত্র বদল করেছে। কোথাও ডেঙ্গু, কোথাও অজানা জ্বর, কোথাও ম্যালেরিয়া, কোথাও সোয়াইন ফ্লু হচ্ছে, আরও রিসার্চ করা দরকার।

স্বাস্থ্য রাজ্যের বিষয়, তারা তাদের সাধ্যমতো চেষ্টা করে। সব রাজ্যে ব্যাপক হারে হচ্ছে এই রোগগুলি, আমরা এর জন্য কাউকে দায়ী করছি না।

যেখানে দায়িত্বশীলতার প্রয়োজন সেখানে মানুষকে দায়িত্বশীল হতে হবে। পুরসভা, পঞ্চায়েত, আশা কর্মীরা বাড়ি বাড়ি প্রচার করছে। এটা আমাদের সকলের কাছে priority।

অনেক সময় মানুষ জানে না, কি করতে হয় কি করতে হয় না, তাই বিজ্ঞাপন দেওয়া হচ্ছে, এটা পাবলিক সার্ভিস। আমরা ২৪ ঘণ্টা মনিটারিং করছি। একটা মৃত্যুও দুঃখের।

কয়েকটা রাজনৈতিক দলের কোন কাজ নেই, তারা নোংরা রাজনীতি করছে। ওরা কোন কাজ করতে চায় না।

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) is organising a get-together at Eco Island inside Eco Park today. The get together is being held a day before the final of Under-17 World Cup football which will be played at the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan.

The president of FIFA Gianni Infantino has arrived in the city to attend the final. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her council of ministers along with former players and Olympians are likely to attend the get-together.

To display the richness of Bengal’s cultural heritage, the State Government is organising a 45-minute cultural performance that will include dance performances, classical songs and fusion music by noted artistes.

Incidentally, in order to display Bengal’s heritage, the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan will showcase a giant ‘alpona’ in front of the VIP entrance near Gate No. 5 on the day of the final match. A team of around 200 artistes, mostly students of different art colleges of the State are already on to the job.

 

আজ ফিফার সভায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উপস্থিতিতে বাংলার ধ্রুপদি নৃত্য

আজ ফিফার ২৫০ টি দেশের প্রতিনিধিদের সামনে তুলে ধরা হবে বাংলার সঙ্গীত ও নৃত্যের কলাকৌশল।

আজ এই অনুষ্ঠান হবে ইকো পার্কে এবং রাজ্য সরকারের হয়ে প্রতিনিধিত্ব করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সন্ধ্যে ৭ টা থেকে রাত ৯ টা পর্যন্ত চলবে এই অনুষ্ঠান। এর মধ্যে ৪৫ মিনিট বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে বাংলার জন্য।

বাংলার সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যকে আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিনিধিদের সামনে তুলে ধরবে বাংলার শিল্পীরা। তুলে ধরা হবে বাংলার ধ্রুপদি সঙ্গীত, নৃত্য ও যন্ত্র সঙ্গীত।

বিশ্বকাপের জন্য আমূল বদলে ফেলা হয় যুবভারতীকে। রাজ্য সরকারের অনুরোধে স্থানীয় অর্গানাইজিং কমিটি এবার সাধের স্টেডিয়ামের ভোলবদলের জন্য ‘আশ্রয়’ নিল আল্পনার। যুবভারতীয় ৫ নম্বর গেটের ভিআইপি এন্ট্রান্স থেকে শুরু হয়েছে এই আল্পনা। ফাইনালের আগে বৃহস্পতিবার ও শুক্রবার ২৫০ জনের টিম এই সৌন্দর্যায়নের কাজে যুক্ত। বিশ্বভারতী, রবীন্দ্রভারতী, গর্ভনমেন্ট আর্ট কলেজ, ইন্ডিয়ান আর্ট কলেজের বাছাই করা ২১০ জন শিল্পী এনে শুরু করা হয়েছে এই আল্পনা অঙ্কণ।

Creating awareness about consumers’ rights is the most effective way to reduce cases of people getting cheated; to make people aware at an early age is the best possible way to go about it.

With this is mind, this year, the State Consumer Affairs Department has opened Consumer Clubs in schools across Bengal. These clubs comprise students and are headed by the headmaster or assistant headmaster of the school.

During the financial year 2017-18, the department is providing assistance to 840 schools across the state, up from 400 during the last fiscal. This fiscal, the amount of financial assistance to each Consumer Club has also been doubled.

These clubs in schools provide another advantage too. The students are encouraged to discuss their activities in their homes, and thus, their parents also become aware about these rights.

The Consumer Affairs Department, during the rule of the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government, has been very active in spreading awareness, running regular campaigns on television and radio as well as outdoors on various aspects of consumer rights. It ran campaigns on huge screens and posters at the popular Durga Puja pandals too.

 

রাজ্যের স্কুলগুলিতে সচেতনতা বাড়াচ্ছে ক্রেতা সুরক্ষা ক্লাব

গ্রাহক প্রতারণা আটকাতে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিই প্রধান অস্ত্র। আর একদম অল্প বয়সেই যদি সচেতন হওয়া যায় তাহলে তো কথাই নেই।

এই চিন্তাকে মাথায় রেখে এই বছর রাজ্য ক্রেতা সুরক্ষা দপ্তর রাজ্যজুড়ে স্কুলে স্কুলে ক্রেতা সুরক্ষা ক্লাব খুলছে। স্কুলের পড়ুয়াদের নিয়ে তৈরী এই ক্লাবগুলির নেতৃত্ব দেবেন ওই স্কুলের প্রধান শিক্ষক অথবা উপপ্রধান।

২০১৭-১৮ অর্থবর্ষে এই দপ্তর সারা রাজ্যে ৮৪০ টি স্কুলকে প্রশিক্ষণ দিচ্ছে; গত আর্থিক বছরে এই সংখ্যাটি ছিল ৪০০। রাজ্যের তরফে এবছর ক্লাবগুলিকে প্রদত্ত অর্থনৈতিক সহায়তাও দ্বিগুন করা হয়েছে।

এই ক্লাবগুলিতে কচিকাচারা যে সচেতনতা লাভ করবে তা বাড়িতে মা-বাবা এবং আত্মীয়দের সাথেও ভাগ করে নিতে পারবে তারা।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বাধীন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকার গ্রাহক সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির ব্যপারে প্রথম থেকেই খুব তৎপর। প্রতিনিয়ত সচেতনতা অভিযান চালানো হয় রাজ্যের তরফে। টিভি ও রেডিওতে প্রচার, রাস্তায় বড় বড় হোর্ডিং – সবই এই অভিযানের অঙ্গ। দুর্গাপুজো প্যান্ডেলগুলিতেও সচেতনতামূলক প্রচার করা হয়।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today attacked the Opposition on the dengue issue.

She said, “We do not have a control over diseases. We have to remain alert and maintain cleanliness. We must take care. Chairmen and councilors of various municipalities must visit their areas regularly. Awareness drives must be conducted.”

She added, “Instead of standing by the people at this point of time, they are indulging in politics. Let them share the statistics of the States ruled by them first.”

She stated the number of deaths in 2017 due to vector-borne diseases and swine-flu in different States:

  • Maharashtra – 685
  • Gujarat – 434
  • Rajasthan – 230
  • Uttar Pradesh – 165
  • Madhya Pradesh – 141
  • Tamil Nadu – 120
  • Kerala – 111
  • Odisha – 83
  • Assam – 87
  • Bengal – 34

 

The CM said that special anti-Dengue drives were undertaken in Bengal since January, or else the casualty figures would have been higher. She also added that Bengal has set up several dengue detection centres.

ডেঙ্গু ইস্যুতে বিরোধীদের আক্রমণ মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

আজ বর্ধিত কোর কমিটি মিটিংএ বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ডেঙ্গু ইস্যুতে কড়া ভাষায় আক্রমণ করেন বিরোধীদের।

তিনি বলেন, “রোগ আপনার আমার হাতে নেই, কিন্তু, পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন থাকতে হবে, সঠিক সময়ে সঠিক কেয়ার নিতে হবে। মিউনিসিপালিটির চেয়ারম্যানরা কাউন্সিলরদের নিজের এলাকায় বারবার ভিজিট করতে বলুন। জেলা পরিষদরাও ভিজিট করবেন। কাউন্সিলর, এমপি, এমএলএরা প্রশাসনকে সাথে নিয়ে সচেতনতা প্রোগ্রাম করুন। নিজেদের এলাকা ভালো রাখুন, সজাগ থাকুন।“

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, “সিপিএম কংগ্রেস বিজেপি মানুষের পাশে না দাঁড়িয়ে চিৎকার করতে শুরু করেছে, নিজের রাজ্যের হিসেবটা ফার্স্ট নিতে বলুন।”

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন রাজ্যে জানুয়ারী মাস থেকেই ডেঙ্গুরোধের জন্য বিশেষ উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয় নয়তো মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা আরও বেশী হতে পারত। তিনি এও বলেন এই রাজ্যের মত এতগুলো ডেঙ্গু ডিটেকশন ল্যাবোরাটরি আর কোন রাজ্যে নেই।
