Mitali Bag’s Supplementary Question on the stagnancy in the market share of BSNL and MTNL
Namaskar Hon. Chairman Sir, thank you for Namaskar, thank you chairman sir for allowing me to speak. Sir, only 38% of the total families of the country are digitally literate and in rural areas it is 25%. Why is the government failing to provide subsidised 5G service to economically weaker districts? The Central Government promised to allocate more than Rs. 3.2 lakh crores for BSNL and MTNL between 2019 and 2025, but only 8% of the population is using BSNL and MTNL. Private companies have acquired more than 91% of the share. How can we justify this expenditure of taxpayers’ money, and why is this share still the same? This is what I would like to ask the honourable minister, Sir.
