Md Nadimul Haque’s Supplementary Questions on the reason for inadequate IPM sessions for farmers and whether any farmer field schools have been conducted to teach them about reducing pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables
Sir, the farmers’ population in India is around 146 million as per the Agriculture Census. But, the number of Farmer Field Schools through which IPM activities are propagated are only 70 and only 20 Human Resource Development Programmes were conducted where 3,350 farmers were trained in IPM activities. Sir, I want to know from the Minister as to why training activities by IPM are disproportionate to the number of farmers.
