The Bangla Government has taken up an initiative to tea cultivation in the Ayodhya Hills in Purulia district and produce crush-tear-curl (CTC) tea in the next five to six years. The project has been undertaken as part of the 100 Days’ Work Scheme.

The government is taking technical assistance from IIT Kharagpur in this venture. The laterite soil of the Ayodhya Hills has been found to be ideal for tea plantation.

The Ayodhya gram panchayat has planted 16,000 tea saplings on 20 acres on the slopes of the Ayodhya Hills, in the Mirmi and Kalhay mouzas in Baghmundi block. The saplings have been supplied by the Panchayats and Rural Development Department.

The tea gardens will be operated by self-help groups, who will be given all necessary help by the government. The government has set a target to plant around 30,000 tea saplings in total.

This venture of producing tea in non-traditional areas will create a new industry opportunity in the district. The suitability of other districts like Bankura, Jhargram and Paschim Medinipur is being studied too.

Besides generating income opportunities, the venture will attract tourists too, like they do in the Darjeeling Hills.

The State Forest Department’s Parks and Gardens North Division, in charge of north Bengal, has decided to showcase the diverse flora of the region through a series of flower shows in the districts of the region. Entry to the flower shows will be free.

The almost a month-long series of flower shows began on January 12 in Cooch Behar and will end on February 9 in Malbazar. The other places to host the shows would be Falakata on January 14, Balurghat on January 19, Islampur on January 23, Dhupguri on January 26, Alipurduar on January 27, Jalpaiguri on February 2 and again in Cooch Behar on February 6.

The department has also decided to encourage people to have more plants in their homes, having adopted the theme, ‘Keep your homes clean and green’.

The focus of the shows will be on school and college students in order to inculcate their interest in plants, to understand the important fact that plants are natural air purifiers and gift us a clean environment, said a senior official of the Forest Department.

The flower shows will include plant sculptures for the first time, to be displayed at the shows at Teesta Udyan in Jalpaiguri and at NN Park in Cooch Behar.

The Bangla Government has released Rs 1,600 crore to give a momentum to paddy procurement, taking the total amount for the purpose to Rs 5,100 crore since November last year.

The move is to ensure that maximum farmers get the minimum support price (MSP) offered by the State. While the government’s MSP for paddy is Rs 1,770 per quintal, the market price is hovering between Rs 1,400 and Rs 1,450.

The target is to procure 50 lakh tonnes of paddy by September 2019, said a senior government official. However, the government wants to buy the maximum quantum of paddy by February to ensure that no small farmer goes for distress sale. This is the reason for the release of Rs 1,600 crore now.

The State Government has also decided to involve more self-help groups and cooperative societies in the process to ensure that farmers do not need to travel long distances to sell their produce.

Moreover, the state has decided to issue account payee cheques to the farmers on the spot when they will visit a procurement centre to sell their produce.

Calling for the ouster of the BJP at the Centre, the All India Trinamool Youth Congress president and party’s MP Abhishek Banerjee said on Sunday that there will be a ‘new sunrise’ in Delhi in the days to come under the leadership of Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee.

He also stressed that the 2019 Lok Sabha polls would be a fight between dictatorship and democracy. “The upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be fight between an authoritarian rule, and fight to save democracy and constitution of this country,” he said.

Abhishek further maintained: “Our party supremo Mamata Banerjee has transformed herself as one of the favourites among 130 crore Indians. This is the reason why so many national leaders who are anti-BJP have responded to her call to attend the grand Brigade Rally on January 19 and strengthen her resources in her fight to oust the BJP government at the Centre.”

Addressing a public gathering at Hazra Crossing, he said national leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, Stalin, Shatrughan Sinha, Farooq Abdullah and several others will attend the rally.

He accused the BJP of ‘family tradition’ in elections and reiterated that the Trinamool Congress does not believe in the same. “We field those people in elections whom we feel can be a good representative and leave it to the people to elect or reject him,” he added.

Abhishek also came down heavily upon the CPI(M) alleging that they have surrendered themselves before the saffron party. “The BJP has taken anti-people decisions one after the other which include note ban, soaring prices of petrol diesel and the GST but the CPI(M) has not raised its voice against a single issue.”

“The Trinamool Congress under the leadership of our party chief has been vocal against all the decisions as we are pro-people which is clear from the several schemes like Kanyashree, Khadya Sathi, Sabuj Sathi, Sikshashree that have been initiated by Mamata Banerjee in Bengal,” he added.

Taking a dig at the saffron party over its politics of appeasement, he maintained: “We are against politics in the name of religion. We are with the people and will continue to stand by them. We are elected by the people so our only religion is the peoples’ religion.”

Criticising Modi for his assertion at the BJP national convention in New Delhi on Saturday, Abhishek questioned whether the saffron party-led NDA government from 1999-2004 or various coalition governments that it was a part of were “majboot” or “majboor”.

Abhishek slammed the Prime Minister’s call of Achhe Din and maintained that good days will come only when the government at the Centre is toppled. The MP has been addressing rallies across the state to garner support for the party’s Brigade rally for nearly a month. It ended with the address at Hazra on Sunday.

Bangla has been hailed a role model for bringing about the all-round development of scheduled castes. This has been stated recently by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC).

At a recent review meeting of the commission in Kolkata, the chairman praised the programmes adopted by the State Government in bringing about development of backward castes. He said that it is Bangla that will show the path to the country in implementing social justice. Officials of the government apprised the commission chairman of the ways in which it helps the scheduled castes (SC).

The giving of jobs in the government for SCs came in for special praise by the national commission. The State Government reserves 22 per cent posts for SCs. The government also undertakes special recruitment drives for all people belonging to backward castes.

The State Backward Classes Welfare Department also maintains a 100-point roster of precedence for direct recruitment and a 50-point roster for promotion.

Then, there’s the 100 Days’ Work Scheme which has also come in for praise. In the State, 26.53 per cent of the beneficiaries are SCs, which surpasses the 22 per cent reservation in jobs under the category as mandated by the Government of India.

Another achievement of the State Government in this respect is that the full hundred per cent of the land distributed for free by the government has gone to SCs.

In the sector of skill development, till date, more than 400 girls belonging to the scheduled caste category have been given training by the government in running beauty parlours (beautician), binding books, etc.

Besides the above, State Government officials informed the commission that the Trinamool Congress Government has brought in the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to various backward castes and communities.

At present, there are 60 communities identified by the Bangla Government as SC and 40 communities identified as scheduled tribe (ST).

Calling for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for the MSMEs, the State Finance and Industry Minister Dr Amit Mitra urged IT industry body NASSCOM to come out with AI-based solutions.

He was speaking at NASSCOM’s first international SME (small and medium enterprises) Conclave at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata.

He said that sectors of public interest like health, education, and small business can benefit a lot from AI and machine learning-based solutions. Applications like sowing, timing management, students’ management and traffic management can also be taken up, he said.

Importantly, Dr Mitra also touched upon the ills of AI and machine learning if not deployed judicially.

The meet saw the participation of around 600 SMEs from 40 cities across 18 States of the country.

The State Health Department has decided to open 27 more institutes for teaching General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). One of the main objectives of the initiative is to boost the health infrastructure in the rural areas.

There are currently 89 GNM-teaching institutes in the state. This will soon become 116. With this initiative, the total number of GNM seats would also be raised by 890 seats, that is, from 3,065 to 2,175.

The State Government will also create around 890 posts to ensure proper functioning of the 27 new schools.

General Nursing and Midwifery is a three-year diploma course run by the West Bengal Nursing Council, under the Health Department. The council also runs the two-year Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (Revised) course.

For the development of nursing education, the government had allotted around Rs 57 crore for financial year (FY) 2017-18. During this period, 2,175 students had been admitted to the GNM course, 52 to MSc (Nursing) and 444 to BSc (Nursing). In September 2017, five new GNM courses were started, with 60 seats for each course.

Meanwhile, the State Government has already started imparting special training among the nursing aspirants and as many as 10,000 nurses would be recruited as community health officers for the district and subdivisional hospitals and the district health centres.

For the first time ever, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be sending personalised New Year’s greetings cards this year to all students of all State-aided schools. She herself has prepared the message to be printed on the greetings cards.

Nearly 15 million students study in State-aided schools. The School Education Department will handle the logistics to ensure that the cards reach all the students in State-aided primary, secondary and higher secondary schools.

The cards will first reach the district magistrate’s office, from where they will be sent to different schools. The headmasters of schools will take the responsibility of writing the names of the students on the cards and handing them over.

It may be mentioned here that every year the chief minister holds a programme to felicitate the toppers of different board in the State. Not only that, and this is a first for a chief minister of the State, she also listens to the students’ problems, if any, and accordingly instructs the administration to take steps so that they face no difficulty in continuing with their higher studies.

The three-day Digha Folk Festival has been running from January 11. It will get over today. This is the second edition of the festival.

The festival is a place for exhibiting and selling handicrafts, and for the performance of folk performances. This year folk performances are being held from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Purba Medinipur, where Digha is located, is famous, along with Paschim Medinipur, for patachitra (storytelling through scroll painting) and madur weaving. And both have received the geographical indication (GI) tag.

Madur weavers from villages like Patashpur, Ramnagar, Bhagwanpur and Moyna, which are famous for the craft, have come to the Digha Folk Festival. Many of the artistes who have come are also taking part in workshops.

A few initiatives for folk artistes by the Bangla Government may be mentioned here. The 10 Rural Craft Hubs, developed by the State Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Textiles in association with the United National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), have benefitted 3,000 handicraft artistes. The setting up of Rural Craft and Cultural Hubs (RCCH) has benefitted an additional 12,000 rural artistes.

Then there is the Lok Prasar Prakalpa for folk performers. Now, over 2 lakh folk artistes get a monthly stipend from the government and the State Government has given them musical instruments. Folk artistes are invited for paid performances at the programmes organised the government departments and for the promotion of government schemes through their songs and dances.

আগামী ১৯শে জানুয়ারি ব্রিগেড চলো সমাবেশকে সামনে রেখে আজ হুগলীর চুঁচুড়ায় অমরপুর ফুটবল মাঠে এক জনসভায় বক্তব্য রাখেন সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সভামঞ্চ থেকে বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগেন।

এখানে উপস্থিত সকলকে ধন্যবাদ ও অভিনন্দন। হুগলীর মানুষ আজ যে বিশ্বাস আমাদের মধ্যে জাগিয়েছে, তাতে মনে হয় হুগলী জেলা একাই কলকাতার ব্রিগেড প্যারেড গ্রাউন্ড ভরিয়ে দিতে পারে। আগামীদিনে হুগলী জেলার তিনটি লোকসভা আসনে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস প্রার্থীদের বিপুল ভোটের ব্যবধানে জয় নিয়ে কোনও সংশয় নেই।

আমাদের নেত্রী ২০১৮ সালের ২১শে জুলাই ধর্মতলায় ব্রিগেড চলোর ডাক আমরা মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে শেষ ব্রিগেড চলো সমাবেশ করেছিলাম ২০১৪ সালের ৩০শে জানুয়ারি দুর্নীতিগ্রস্থ কংগ্রেস, অপদার্থ সিপিএম এবং সাম্প্রদায়িক বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে। ফলস্বরূপ বাংলার মানুষ দুহাত তুলে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যাইয়ের আশির্বাদধন্য প্রার্থীকে জোড়াফুলে ভোট দিয়ে বাংলার মানুষ ৪২টি লোকসভা আসনের মধ্যে ৩৪টি আসনে জয়লাভ করিয়েছিল।

আমরা তার পর থেকে মানুষের স্বার্থে রাজ্যে, রাজ্যের বাইরে, সংসদের ভিতরে, সংসদের বাইরে প্রতিবাদ চালিয়ে গেছি। অন্যান্য ব্রিগেড চলোর সঙ্গে এই আসন্ন ব্রিগেড চলোর একটা আলাদা তাৎপর্য আছে।

ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টির শেষের শুরু হয়ে গেছে। বিজেপির কফিনের শেষ পেরেকটা আগামী ১৯শে জানুয়ারি মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কলকাতার বুকে পুঁততে চলেছেন। বাংলার আপামর মানুষ সেখানে উপস্থিত হয়ে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ হবেন। আমাদের নেত্রী আমাদের গর্ব।

আমাদের নেত্রী আজ শুধু বাংলার ১০ কোটি মানুষের নয়নের মণি নন, ১০ কোটি মানুষের মুক্তিসূর্য নয়, আজ তিনি দেশনেত্রীতে পরিণত হয়েছেন। কাশ্মীরের ওমর আবদুল্লা, ফারুক আবদুল্লা যেমন ব্রিগেড সমাবেশে আসবেন, দিল্লীর আম আদমি পার্টির অরবিন্দ কেজরিওয়াল আসবেন, তামিলনাডুর এম কে স্ট্যালিন আসবেন, এছাড়া, শরদ পাওয়ার, শরদ যাদব আসবেন, শত্রুঘ্ন সিনহা আসবেন, যশোবন্ত সিনহা আসবেন, রাম জেটমালানি আসবেন, বিহারের তেজস্বী যাদব আসবেন, উত্তর প্রদেশ থেকে অখিলেশ যাদব আসবেন। কাশ্মীর থেকে কন্যাকুমারিকা আগামী দিন একটাই হুমকার উঠতে চলেছে মমতাদি তুম আগে বাড়ো হাম তুমহারে সাথ হ্যায়। এটাই আমাদের গর্ব।

ভারতের অনেক রাজনৈতিক দলকে ভয় দেখিয়ে বিজেপি বশ্যতা স্বীকার করিয়েছে। কিন্তু, আমাদের নেত্রী বিজেপির ধমকানি, চমকানি, চোখ রাঙ্গানির কাছে বশ্যতা স্বীকার করেননি। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসকে যত আঘাত করবে, যত প্রহার করবে, আমাদের দলের কর্মী সমর্থকদের রাস্তায় নেমে আন্দোলনের ভাষা তত তীব্রতর হবে।

উন্নয়নের মাধ্যমে আমরা কুৎসার জবাব দেব। আমরা সিপিএমের মত নাস্তিকও নই আবার বিজেপির মত ধর্ম বেচে রাজনীতিও আমাদের করতে হয় না। আমরা উন্নয়ন ও পরিসংখ্যানকে হাতিয়ার করে রাজনীতি করি।

আমরা আমাদের ধর্ম বাড়িতে পালন করব। আমি একজন হিন্দু, আমি সকালে উঠে সুর্য নমস্কার করব, চান করে আমি দেব-দেবীর পুজো করব, মা কালীর আরাধণা করব, আমি গায়ত্রী মন্ত্র জপ করব। আমি ইসলামে বিশ্বাসী হলে মসজিদে গিয়ে মাটিতে মাথা ঠেকিয়ে পাঁচবার নামাজ পড়ব। আমি যদি খ্রীষ্টান হই, তাহলে প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করব। আমি যদি বৌদ্ধ হই, তাহলে বৌদ্ধ ধর্মের প্রবর্তক গৌতম বুদ্ধের কাছে আরাধনা করব। আমি যদি শিখ হই, তাহলে গুরুদ্বারে যাব।

আমি যখন মানুষের ভোটে নির্বাচিত তখন আমার একটাই ধর্ম – মানব ধর্ম। কে উন্নয়ন পাচ্ছে, কে গীতাঞ্জলি পাচ্ছে, কে কন্যাশ্রী পাচ্ছে, কে যুবশ্রী পাচ্ছে, কোথায় রাস্তা হয়েছে, কোথায় লাইট লেগেছে, কোথায় কলেজ হয়েছে, কে বিধবা ভাতা পাচ্ছে আমাকে সেটাই নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।

ভারতবর্ষের প্রধানমন্ত্রী মানুষকে ভুল বুঝিয়ে ২০১৪ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার আগে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিল, আচ্ছে দিন আনেওয়ালে হ্যায়। বলেছিল, ভারতবর্ষের বুকে ২কোটি বেকারের চাকরি হবে, রাস্তাঘাট তৈরী হবে, সকলের অ্যাকাউন্টে ১৫লক্ষ টাকা করে দেওয়া হবে, কিচ্ছু দেয়নি।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় যা কথা দিয়েছিলেন, সব অক্ষরে অক্ষরে পালন করেছেন। পরিবর্তনের চাকা যখন ঘুরেছিল, এই জেলায় আমাদের একটা অধ্যায় আছে যেটা স্বর্ণাক্ষরে আগামী কয়েক শতাব্দী লেখা থাকবে, সেটা হল ঐতিহাসিক সিঙ্গুর আন্দোলন। আমরা বলেছিলাম আমাদের সরকার ক্ষমতায় এলে সিঙ্গুরে কৃষকদের জমি ফিরিয়ে দেওয়া হবে, আমাদের সরকার দিয়েছে। আমরা বলেছিলাম, ক্ষমতায় এলে জঙ্গলমহলে শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হবে, আমাদের সরকার করেছে। আমরা বলেছিলাম আমাদের সরকার ক্ষমতায় এলে গ্রামে গ্রামে নিরবিচ্ছিন্ন বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ পৌঁছে দেবে, আমরা দিয়েছি। আমরা বলেছিলাম আমাদের সরকার ক্ষমতায় এলে বাড়িতে বাড়িতে পানীয় জলের সুব্যবস্থা করব, আমরা করেছি।

কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী গত পাঁচ বছরে নিজের প্রচার করেছে ৫২৭১ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে। গুজরাটে সর্দার বল্লভভাই প্যাটেলের মূর্তি তৈরী করেছেন ৩০০০কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী বিদেশ ভ্রমণে ব্যয় করেছে ২০০০কোটি টাকা। সব মিলিয়ে ১০০০০কটি টাকা খরচ করে, ফলাফল শূন্য।

আমাদের নেত্রী ৩১শে ডিসেম্বর ২০১৮ সালে ঘোষণা করলেন ‘কৃষক বন্ধু’ প্রকল্প অর্থাৎ আমি যদি একজন কৃষক হই আমার পরিবারের কেউ কৃষির সাথে জড়িত থাকে তাহলে আমাদের সরকার একটা নতুন প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছে যা যে আপনার যদি আঠারো বছর থেকে ষাট বছরের মধ্যে আপনার স্বাভাবিক বা অস্বাভাবিক মৃত্যু ঘটে, তাহলে আপনার পরিবারের সদস্যদের মা-মাটি-মানুষের সরকার দু’লক্ষ টাকা চেক তুলে দেবে। এই প্রকল্পে নেত্রী ১০০০০কোটি টাকা খরচা করলেন। এরম প্রকল্প অভূতপূর্ব। এটাই বিজেপির সঙ্গে আমাদের তফাৎ।

ফসলবীমা প্রকল্পে ৮০ শতাংশ টাকা রাজ্য সরকার দেবে, কিন্তু, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নামে নামকরণ করতে হবে। গ্রাম সড়ক যোজনা প্রকল্পে ৫০ শতাংশ টাকা রাজ্য সরকার দেয়, কিন্তু, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নামে নামকরণ করতে হবে। আমাদের নেত্রী বলেছেন, তোমাদের টাকাও লাগবে না, তোমাদের নামও হবে না। বাংলাকে কোনওদিন আমরা আত্মসমর্পণের পথে নিয়ে যাব না।

এই বাংলা রবীন্দ্রনাথের বাংলা, স্বামীজির বাংলা। আজ স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের ১৫৬তম জন্ম দিবস। বিশ্ববন্দিত এই সন্ন্যাসী আমাদের যা শিখিয়েছেন, তাঁর দীক্ষা, তাঁর বাণী আমাদের পথ দেখায়। ২০১৪ সালে যে স্বামীজির ফটো সামনে রেখে নরেন্দ্র মোদী প্রচার করল, সেই স্বামীজিকে ন্যুনতম সম্মান বিজেপি দেয়নি।

যারা বলে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকার একটি সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য কাজ করে, আমি তাদের বলতে চাই, আমাদের ধর্ম আমাদের শিখিয়েছে, নিজের ধর্মের প্রতি আস্থাশীল, পরের ধর্মের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল। আমাদের ধর্ম কোনওদিন বিভাজনের কথা শেখায়নি। স্বামীজি বলে গেছেন, উনবিংশ শতাব্দীর শেষ প্রান্তে দাঁড়িয়ে, আমাদের সমাজকে যদি বলিষ্ঠ, শক্তিশালী করতে হয়, সর্বক্ষেত্রে আমাদের স্বাধীনতার প্রয়োজন। সেই স্বামিজির বাণীকে বুড়ো আঙুল দেখিয়ে কে কি খাবে, কে কি পরবে, নিদান দিচ্ছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। এটা হতে পারেনা।

অর্থের বিনিময়ে অন্য রাজ্য গেরুয়া হতে পারে। কিন্তু, বাংলা কোনওদিন অর্থের বিনিময়ে গেরুয়া হবে না। নেতাজী সুভাষচন্দ্র বসু বলেছিলেন, “তোমরা আমাকে রক্ত দাও আমি তোমাদের স্বাধীনতা দেব।” দিলীপ ঘোষ, অমিত শাহ ও মুকুল রায়রা বলছে, ”তুমি আমাকে গদি দাও আমি তোমাকে রক্তস্নাত নদী দেব”। আর মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কী বলছেন? “হে বাংলা বীরযোদ্ধা মা মাটি মানুষ, তুমি আমাকে ৪২ শে ৪২ দাও, আগামীদিন দিল্লীর বুকে নতুন প্রগতিশীল শান্তিপ্রিয় ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ ভারতবর্ষ ভারতবর্ষের মানুষকে আমি দেব”। এটাই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

দার্জিলিং থেকে দেগঙ্গা মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় জেভাবে উন্নয়নের কাজ করেছেন, সারা দেশে তা নজিরবিহীন। প্রফুল্ল ঘোষ, প্রফুল্ল সেন, অজয় মুখোপাধ্যায়ের মত ফুল টাইম মুখ্যমন্ত্রীদের কোনওদিন আচমকা হাসপাতাল পরিদর্শন করতে দেখিনি। কোনওদিন গ্রামে গ্রামে অঞ্চলে অঞ্চলে ব্লকে ব্লকে পাড়ায় পাড়ায় এসডিও, ওসি, ডিএম, এসপি সংশ্লিষ্ট দপ্তরের উন্নয়ন পরিদর্শন করতে দেখিনি। একমাত্র যদি কেউ করে থাকে, মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় করেছেন, বিজেপি আমাদের সাথে উন্নয়নের নিরিখে লড়াই করতে পারছে না।

তৃণমূলের আবর্জনা বিজেপির রত্ন। বিজেপি খুঁজে খুঁজে কুড়িয়ে তাদের মাথায় রাখছে; এই হচ্ছে ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টি। আমরা যাদের বর্জন করছি, ওরা তাদেরকে গ্রহণ করছে। সমস্ত গদ্দারদের একটাই ঠিকানা, বিজেপি অর্থাৎ ভারতীয় জঞ্জাল পার্টি। এদের জেনে রাখা উচিত হার্মাদ বাহিনীদের দিয়ে খুন করে এই সরকার প্রতিষ্ঠা হয়নি। এই সরকার মানুষের আশির্বাদকে পাথেয় করে প্রতিষ্ঠা হয়েছে।

যে গেছে যাক, যে থাকবে থাক। সাধারণ মানুষ যদি চায় আগামীদিন ৪২-এ ৪২ কেউ আটকাতে পারবে না। যত ক্ষমতা আছে তা প্রয়োগ করে দেখাও। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আগামীদিন ৪২-এ ৪২ করবেন, মানুষ করবে, এটা মানুষের দল। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় চাইলে ২ লক্ষ মুকুল রায় আর ৫ লক্ষ সৌমিত্র খাঁ হবে। কিন্তু সৌমিত্র খাঁ আর মুকুল রায় চাইলে একটা শতাব্দীতেও একটা মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় তৈরী করতে পারবে না।

আমি যে জেলাতেই গিয়েছি, সেখানে দেখেছি সকলে মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের কর্ম যজ্ঞকে সমর্থন করেছেন। আর বিজেপি বড় বড় কথা বলছে, এই দলের সভাপতি মিটিং করে বলেছেন, আমরা বাংলায় আসছি, প্রস্তুতি হয়ে গেছে। অমিত শাহ যদি বাংলায় দাঁড়ায় তাকে হারানোর দায়িত্বটা আমি নিজের কাঁধে তুলে নিচ্ছি। ক্ষমতা থাকলে কোথায় লড়বে আগে থেকে ঘোষণা করে দেখাও।

আমরা বৈচিত্রের মধ্যে একতার কথায় আমরা বিশ্বাস করি। আমাদের নেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই শিক্ষাই আমাদের শিখিয়েছেন। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় হিন্দু ধর্মের জন্য যা করেছেন ভারতবর্ষের বুকে সেই কাজ কেউ করে দেখাতে পারেন নি।

আজ স্বামীজির ১৫৬-তম জন্মদিবস। বেলুড় মঠের জাহাজ পরিষেবা, ভগিনী নিবেদিতার বাড়ি সংরক্ষণ করে হেরিটেজ ঘোষণা, তারপীঠের উন্নয়ন, তারকেশ্বরের উন্নয়ন, দক্ষিণেশ্বরে যে স্কাইওয়াক মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায় করেছেন। কালীঘাটে ১২৫ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে আরেকটা আন্তর্জাতিক মানের স্কাইওয়াক মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় করতে চলেছেন। গঙ্গাসাগরের আমূল পরিবর্তন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় করেছেন। আমরা যা বলি তা করি। আমরা ফুরফুরা শরীফের উন্নয়ন করেছি।

সবাই যদি চুপ করে থাকত, ভারতবর্ষ কোনওদিন স্বাধীন হত না। আর মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন, বাংলায় কোনওদিন পরিবর্তন হত না। নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসু যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন আজাদ হিন্দ ফৌজ তৈরী করে ব্রিটিশদের ভিতকে নড়িয়ে দেওয়ার মত একজন উজ্জ্বল ব্যক্তিকে আমরা খুঁজে পেতাম না। ক্ষুদিরাম বসু যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন তো আজও আমাদের ব্রিটীশদের স্তাবকতা আর দাসত্ব করে যেতে হত। ঈশ্বরচন্দ্র বিদ্যাসাগর যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন, ছোটবেলায় যদি কোনও তরুণী তার স্বামী হারাত তার কোনও ভবিষ্যৎ ভারতবর্ষের মাটিতে থাকত না।স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন ভারতবর্ষে হিন্দু ধর্মের নাম উচ্চারণ করার মত একজন নাগরিক আমরা খুঁজে পেতাম না। রামমোহন রায় যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন আজকে আমার বাবা বা আপনার বাবা মারা গেলে সেই চিতাতে আমাদের মাকে পুড়ে ঝলসে মরতে হত। সতীদাহ প্রথা রোধ করেছিলেন একজন বাঙালি, আর মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় যদি চুপ করে থাকতেন আজও সিপিএমের বন্দুকের নলের নীচে আমাদের দাসত্ব করে থাকতে হত। হাজার চেষ্টা করো মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়কে ধমকে চমকে লাভ নেই।
