That the Kanyashree Scheme has been a massive success needs no mention. It has been feted at various international forums, including at the United Nations Public Service Awards last June.

Now, further proof of it has come out – Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose brainchild it is, said at a recent meeting that because of the scheme, meant for girl students across Bengal, the dropout rate in State Government schools has reduced by 16.5 per cent.

The scheme was initiated on October 1, 2013.

As a part of the scheme, 41 lakh girl students from 15,500 government schools get monthly stipends – Rs 750 till class XII (K-1 stage), a one-time grant of Rs 25,000 if the student decided to continue higher or technical education (K-2 stage) and the recently introduced stipends for those continuing their education at universities in the state (K-3 stage).

Also as part of the scheme, more than 5,000 students have received training in self-defence.

 

 

কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে কমছে স্কুলছুটের হার

 

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের স্বপ্নের প্রকল্প কন্যাশ্রী। কন্যাশ্রী’‌ প্রকল্পের জন্য রাজ্যের স্কুলগুলিতে মেয়েদের স্কুলছুটের সংখ্যা কমেছে প্রায় ১৬.৫ শতাংশ। শিক্ষক দিবস উপলক্ষে নজরুল মঞ্চের অনুষ্ঠানে এ কথা ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের সূচনা হয় ২০১৩ সালের ১লা অক্টোবর। এই প্রকল্পের মূল উদ্দেশ্য বাল্য বিবাহ বন্ধ করা ও মেয়েদের মধ্যে শিক্ষার প্রসার করা।

অষ্টম শ্রেনী থেকে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত বার্ষিক ৭৫০ টাকা করে আর্থিক সহায়তা, যাকে সরকারি ভাষায় বলা হয় ‘কে-১’ ও দ্বাদশ শ্রেণীর পর উচ্চ শিক্ষা বা কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য এককালীন ২৫,০০০ টাকা দেওয়া হয় মেয়েদের, যাকে সরকারি ভাষায় বলা হয় ‘কে-২’। এবার থেকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্তরের ছাত্রীরাও কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের সুবিধা পাবে, যাকে সরকারি ভাষায় বলা হয় ‘কে-৩’।

রাজ্যের ১৫,৫০০ শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রায় ৪১ লক্ষ ছাত্রী এখনও পর্যন্ত কন্যাশ্রীর আওতায় এসেছে। এখনও পর্যন্ত ৫,০০০ এর বেশি কন্যাশ্রী পেয়েছে আত্মরক্ষার প্রশিক্ষণ।

২০১৭ সালের জুন মাসে বাংলার এই প্রকল্প ৬২টি দেশের ৫৫২টি সামাজিক প্রকল্পের মধ্যে সেরার সম্মান পেয়েছে রাষ্ট্রসংঘের তরফ থেকে। এছাড়াও বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক পুরস্কার পেয়েছে এই প্রকল্প।

A jewellery hub is coming up in Bonhooghly near Kolkata on a 6-acre plot. It is going to be developed by the State Government in collaboration with the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). This was announced on August 29 by the Bengal Commerce & Industry and Finance Minister, Dr Amit Mitra.

Most of the jewellers who have workshops in the traditional jewellery hub of Bowbazar in Kolkata would be allotted plots there. This is a major effort by the State Government to bring down the level of pollution in Kolkata.

Plans are also on to build two common facility centres (CFC) in the state, which would house costly, state-of-the-art instruments for crafting jewellery. Smaller jewellers who would not be able to afford the cost to make use of the instruments can make parts of their jewellery there.

In this connection, it must be mentioned that the State Government, in collaboration with the GJEPC, has initiated the process of getting a geographical indication (GI) registration, conventionally known as a GI tag, for Kolkata-made jewellery, under the brand name of ‘Kolkatti’.

The reasons for going for the GI registration of such jewellery are that these fine, hand-crafted jewellery are in big demand in the Middle East, US and UK, and, precisely because of this big demand, many people are selling jewellery, improperly branding them as Kolkata jewellery.

গয়নার হাব গড়তে ৬ একর জমি দিচ্ছে রাজ্য

 

কলকাতার বনহুগলিতে তৈরি হচ্ছে গয়না হাব। রাজ্যের সঙ্গে যৌথ উদ্যোগে এটি তৈরি করবে জেম অ্যান্ড জুয়েলারি এক্সপোর্ট প্রমোশন কাউন্সিল (জিজেইপিসি)।

মঙ্গলবার জিজেইপিসি আয়োজিত সভায় রাজ্যের অর্থ ও শিল্পমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র জানান, এই প্রকল্পের জন্য রাজ্য ৬ একর জমি দেবে।

বিশেষত বৌবাজারের কারিগররা গয়না তৈরির জায়গা পাবেন হাবে। কলকাতাকে দূষণমুক্ত করার অন্যতম প্রয়াস এটি।

রাজ্যে নতুন দুটি কমন ফেসিলিটি সেন্টার গড়ার পকিকল্পনাও আছে। ওই কেন্দ্রে গয়না তৈরির দামী যন্ত্রপাতি রাখা হবে। যে-সব কারিগরের সেগুলি কেনার ক্ষমতা নেই, তাঁরা সেখানে গিয়ে গয়নার অংশ তৈরি করাতে পারেন।

কলকাতার নিজস্ব গয়না ‘কলকাত্তি’র পেটেন্ট নিতে রাজ্য উদ্যোগী হয়েছে বলে জানান অমিতবাবু। ভৌগোলিক ভাবে যে-সব পণ্য তৈরি কোনও রাজ্যের নিজস্ব বৈশিষ্ট্য, সেগুলির জন্য ডব্লিউটিও-র কাছ থেকে তা নিতে হয়।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today chaired an All-Party meeting regarding the ongoing impasse in the Hills. Terming the meeting as positive, she said the next meeting will be held on October 16. She added that the issue of tripartite meeting will be discussed in that meeting.

The CM said she wanted a permanent solution to the ongoing impasse. “We will immediately restore the public distribution system. We want the bandh to be withdrawn fully and normalcy to be restored as soon as possible. The process of dialogue will continue,” she said.

The CM announced that the Government has decided to call the owners of tea gardens immediately for a meeting to discuss pending wages, bonus for puja etc. for the workers. A GoM (Group of Ministers) will be formed for this purpose.

Mamata Banerjee further said, “Every citizen has a democratic right and prerogative to protest. We want peace and normalcy to be restored. Binay Tamang (representing GJM) had raised the demand for compensation for those who were killed (during agitation). We have agreed to that. They also demanded a high-level investigation for the police firing (during agitation). We have accepted that also.”

She maintained that the Hills are a part of Bengal and the State Government wants the well-being of the people of the Hills.

 

আমরা চাই পাহাড়ের সমস্যার স্থায়ী সমাধান হোকঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ উত্তরকন্যায় পাহাড়ের সমস্যা নিয়ে সর্বদলীয় বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি জানান, আজকের বৈঠক ভালো হয়েছে। পরবর্তী বৈঠক হবে ১৬ অক্টোবর। তাঁর মতে এখনই ত্রিপাক্ষিক বৈঠক সম্ভব নয়। আগামী ১৬ অক্টোবরের বৈঠকে এই নিয়ে আলোচনা হবে। চা বাগানের কর্মীরা যাতে বেতন ও পুজোর বোনাস পান তাঁর জন্য একটি মন্ত্রীগোষ্ঠী তৈরি করা হবে। শীঘ্রই এই মন্ত্রীগোষ্ঠী চা বাগানের মালিকদের সাথে বৈঠক করবেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, “প্রতিবাদ করা মানুষের গণতান্ত্রিক অধিকার। আমরা চাই শান্তি ফিরুক। অশান্তির সময় যারা নিহত বা আহত হন তাদের জন্য ক্ষতিপূরণের দাবি করেছেন বিনয় তামাং। আমরা রাজি হয়েছি। বনধ চলাকালীন পুলিশের গুলি চালানোর জন্য উচ্চ পর্যায়ের তদন্তের দাবি জানিয়েছেন ওনারা। আমরা উচ্চ পর্যায়ের তদন্ত করব”।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আবারও বলেন, “আমরা চাই বনধ তুলে নেওয়া হোক, পাহাড়ে স্বাভাবিক পরিস্থিতি ফিরে আসুক। যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব শিল্প, পর্যটন, পরিবহন সব কিছু স্বাভাবিক হোক। আলোচনা প্রক্রিয়া চলবে। পাহাড় বাংলার অংশ। আমরা চাই পাহাড়ের ভাই বোন ভালো থাকুক, শান্তিতে থাকুক। আমরা চাই দ্রুত সমস্যার সমাধান হোক”।

The Bengal Panchayat and Rural Development Department has decided to set up more kilns to produce bricks from fly ash.

The units are non-polluting and require less space than the traditional kilns. Also, the bricks have been tested by IIT Kharagpur and National Test House, and have been found to be stronger than traditional bricks.

New brick kilns are coming up at Andal in Paschim Bardhaman district, at Sagardighi in Murshidabad district, at Bakreshwar in Birbhum district and at three places in Nadia district.

Kilns to manufacture bricks made from fly ash were first set up two years ago. There are already 10 such brick kilns in the state. All these brick kilns are being run by Self-Help Groups managed by women.

They have been set up under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and have helped women to become economically self-reliant.

The production cost of each fly ash brick is Rs 2 and are sold at Rs 4 per brick, whereas bricks available in the market are priced anything between Rs 8 to Rs 12 per piece.

The bricks made out of fly ash are being used in various constructions carried out by the Panchayats and Rural Development department, in the construction of pavements and in buildings.

মহিলাদের স্বনির্ভর করার লক্ষ্যে রাজ্য সরকার বাড়াবে উড়ো ছাই দিয়ে তৈরি ইট ভাঁটার সংখ্যা

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন দপ্তর আরও ইটভাঁটা তৈরি করবে যেখানে উড়ো ছাই থেকে ইট তৈরি হবে। এই ইটভাঁটা গুলি অপেক্ষাকৃত কম দূষণকারী ও কমজায়গায় তৈরি হয়। আইআইটি খড়গপুর ও ন্যাশানাল টেস্ট হাউস পরীক্ষা করে জানিয়েছেন এই ইটগুলি সাধারণ ইটের থেকে বেশী শক্ত এবং এই ইট তুলনামূলকভাবে অনেক কম তাপ বিকিরণ করে।

এই নতুন ইটভাঁটা গুলো তৈরি হবে পশ্চিম বর্ধমানের অন্ডাল, মুর্শিদাবাদের সাগরদিঘি ও বীরভূম জেলার বক্রেশ্বরে। আরওতিনটি নতুন ইটভাঁটা তৈরি হবে নদীয়া জেলায়।

এই উড়ো ছাই থেকে ইটভাঁটায় ইট উৎপাদন শুরু হয় আজ থেকে ২ বছর আগে। মালদায় প্রথম এই ধরনের ইটভাঁটা চালু হয়। এই মুহূর্তে রাজ্যে ১০টি ইটভাঁটা আছে, দুটি বাঁকুড়ায়, তিনটি নদীয়ায়, দুটি পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরে ও একটি করে পুরুলিয়া, মালদা ওহুগলীতে। এই সবকটি ইটভাঁটা চালাবে মহিলাদের দ্বারা পরিচালিত স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী।

১০০দিনের কাজের মাধ্যমে এই ইটভাঁটাগুলি তৈরি হয়েছে। রাজ্যের মহিলাদের স্বনির্ভর করার ক্ষেত্রে এটি একটি বড় পদক্ষেপ।

এই ইট তৈরির কাঁচামাল, মানে ছাই-এর যোগান দেবে তাপবিদ্যুত কেন্দ্রগুলি। এই পদ্ধতিতে প্রতিটি ইট তৈরি করতে খরচ পড়বে ২টাকা, যা বিক্রী করা হবে ৪ টাকা করে। যেখানে বাজারে ইটের দাম ৮ টাকা থেকে ১২ টাকা।

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন দপ্তরের বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পে এই ইট ব্যাবহার করা হচ্ছে। সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে এই ইটের ব্যাবহার বৃদ্ধির জন্য প্রচার করা হচ্ছে।

The Bengal Agriculture Department is encouraging farmers to cultivate varieties of rice that have become nearly extinct and is also devising ways to create awareness among the people about these varieties in order to create a market for them. The department is also helping farmers to adopt organic farming methods.

These indigenous varieties, also known as folk rice varieties, have properties which make them suitable for particular regions and are also highly nutritious. For example, there is a variety, once almost lost and now being revived, grows well in the saline soil of the Sunderbans, where the popular rice varieties would fail to grow.

The Agriculture Department is also working in collaboration with organisations some to further its aims. For the past few months, they have been trying to revive forgotten varieties of aromatic rice like Radha Tilak, Kala Bhat, Dudheshwar, Hamai, Jhumpuri, Khara and Balam, to name a few, with technical support from the State Government’s Agricultural Training Centre in Phulia in Nadia.

This initiative was launched to bring back traditional aromatic varieties of rice by using natural methods. The use of chemicals to enhance production is discouraged because, in the long run, it will badly affect the environment, including the quality of the soil.

 

কৃষকদের লুপ্তপ্রায় প্রজাতির ধানের চাষ করার আর্জি জানালেন কৃষিমন্ত্রী

রাজ্য কৃষি মন্ত্রী চাষিদের আর্জি জানান যে সব ধরনের চাল আজ প্রায় অবলুপ্তির পথে, সেগুলি চাষ করার। তিনি কৃষকদের সব ধরনের সহায়তার আশ্বাস দেন। পাশাপাশি নির্দেশ দেন কৃষি দপ্তরের সকল আধিকারিককে এই ধরনের চালের বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বাড়াতে। পাশাপাশি তিনি চাষিদের অরগ্যানিক ফারমিং পদ্ধতি শেখানোর কথাও বলেন।  তিনি আশা করেন আরও কৃষক এই অরগ্যানিক ফারমিং পদ্ধতিতে আগ্রহী হবেন সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে।

গত বেশ কয়েক মাস ধরে  প্রায় অবলুপ্তির পথে যেসকল সুগন্ধী চাল যেতে বসেছে, সেগুলি ফিরিয়ে আনার চেষ্টা চলছে। যেমন, রাধা তিলক, কালা ভাত, দুধেস্বর, হামাই, ঝুম্পুরি, খারা এবং বলম। এদের কারিগরি সহায়তা করে ফুলিয়ার এগ্রিকালচারাল ট্রেনিং সেন্টার।

এই বিভিন্ন ধরনের চাল পরীক্ষা করে কৃষি বিজ্ঞানীরা জানিয়েছেন আবহাওয়া ও মাটি এই ধরনের চাল চাষের জন্য উপযোগী। এই চাসে কোনও রাসায়নিক ব্যবহার হয় না তাই স্বাস্থ্যের কোনও ক্ষতির সম্ভাবনা নেই।

The Marine Aquarium and Research Centre (MARC) in Digha will have an added attraction in the form of a walkthrough diorama for the visitors. The entire mangrove ecosystem of the Sundarbans along with its flora and fauna is being recreated at MARC by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI).

The six-month-old project is in its final lap. According to the director of MARC, the mangrove ecosystem museum will feature life-sized models of animals like royal Bengal tigers, crocodiles, and several varieties of crabs and birds that are found in the Sunderbans.

Though flora and fauna of the region would be displayed, the main aim is to portray the life of the people in the villages of the Sundarbans region, particularly the fishermen and their boat life. They spend uncomfortable nights in boats so that they can catch fish to eke out a living.

Among the attractions will also be the coloured skeleton of a gigantic sei whale, an endangered species, one of which was excavated from the shore near Digha a year back. The carcass had been buried there after the dead whale was found on the shore in December 2012. The skeleton has been on display at the MARC campus for some time now.

MARC will also be of immense help to researchers studying any aspect of the Sundarbans. A museum hall with study material will be set up, with equipment pertaining to marine science on display as well.

“The carcass of the gigantic sei whale has been a huge crowd-puller. We are now colouring the skeleton to give it a fresh look,” a ZSI scientist said.

দীঘায় খুব শীঘ্র ম্যানগ্রোভ অরণ্যের প্রতিকৃতি ও মেরিন অ্যাকোরিয়াম ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে

দীঘার মেরিন অ্যাকোরিয়াম ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্র খুব শীঘ্রই আরেকটি কারনে আকর্ষণীয় হয়ে উঠতে চলেছে পর্যটকদের কাছে। সুন্দরবনের পুরো ম্যানগ্রোভ অরণ্য এবার দেখা যাবে দীঘায়।

এটির উদ্বোধন হওয়ার কথা পুজোর আগেই। এখানে তৈরি হবে একটি ম্যানগ্রোভ অরণ্যের মিউজিয়াম, যেখানে আসল আয়তনের বাঘ, কুমির, বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির কাঁকড়া, ও পাখি থাকবে যা সুন্দরবনে পাওয়া যায়।

এখানে মূলত তুলে ধরা হবে সুন্দরবনের মৎস্যজীবীদের ও নৌকায় তাঁদের জীবনযাপন। যারা জীবিকার জন্য রাতের পর রাত জেগে থাকেন নৌকাতে। এর ফলে উপকৃত হবে সুন্দরবন নিয়ে কাজ করা গবেষকরা। মিউজিয়াম হলে থাকবে বইপত্র ও মেরিন বিজ্ঞানের প্রয়োজনীয় নানা যন্ত্রপাতির প্রদর্শনী।

কিছুদিন আগে দীঘার সমুদ্রতটে বিশালাকার নিলতিমি’র দেহ পাওয়া যায়। এটিও আছে মেরিন অ্যাকোরিয়াম ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে, যা পর্যটকদের মধ্যে আলোড়ন সৃষ্টি করেছে। আপাতাত এই দেহে রঙ করা চলছে এই দেহকে সজীব রুপ দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে।

The Bengal Power Department will focus on the development of alternative energy resources on a large scale so that natural energy sources can be used in the generation of power.

The department has already developed a comprehensive strategy on how to develop solar and other non-conventional energy in the state. Some solar parks have come up in the state while many more will also be set up.

The above comments were made by the State Power Minister while speaking at the 10th edition of the annual Environment and Energy Conclave, organised in Kolkata by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on August 23-24. The conclave is an international forum for climate change mitigation and business opportunity.

The Power Department has set a target of setting up solar panels on rooftops of 1,500 government offices, school s and colleges under the State Government’s Aloshree Scheme. Under the scheme, panels have already been set up in more than 500 office buildings and schools.

Installation of solar lights in villages situated on the banks of rivers across the state has already been planned, since in such villages electric poles are often damaged due to erosion.

 

 

বিকল্প শক্তি উদ্ভাবনে উদ্যোগী রাজ্য সরকার

 

 

রাজ্যের বিদ্যুৎ মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায় বলেন, আগামী কয়েক বছর তার দপ্তরের মূল লক্ষ্য হবে বৃহতাকারে বিকল্প শক্তির উৎস উন্নয়নে। এর ফলে প্রাকৃতিক শক্তির উৎসগুলি বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনে লাগানো যায়। রাজ্য বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তর ইতিমধ্যেই একটি সার্বিক কৌশল নিয়েছে যাতে সারা রাজ্য ব্যাপী সৌর ও অন্যান্য অচিরাচরিত শক্তির ব্যবহার বাড়ানো যায়। মন্ত্রী বলেন, ইতিমধ্যেই অনেকগুলি পার্ক উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে যেগুলি সৌরবিদ্যুৎচালিত, এরম আরও পার্ক ভবিষ্যতে উদ্বোধন করা হবে।

অনেক জায়গায় সৌরবিদ্যুতের প্ল্যান্ট তৈরি করা হবে। ক্যানাল ব্যাঙ্ক সোলার প্রজেক্ট হচ্ছে যার প্রতিটির ক্ষমতা ১০ মেগাওয়াট। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী, আলোশ্রী প্রকল্পে রাজ্য বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তর ১৫০০টি সরকারি দপ্তর, স্কুল, কলেজের ছাদে সোলার প্যানেল তৈরি করার লক্ষ্য নিয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যেই ৫০০টি দপ্তর ও স্কুলের ছাদে এই প্যানেল বসানোর কাজ হয়ে গেছে।

Bengal Education minister Partha Chatterjee Friday accused the Centre of trying to saffronise the education system by asking the institutions of higher education to make arrangements for students to view the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 11.

The prime minister will deliver the speech that day on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s centenary celebration and 125th year of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address.

“This is nothing but an attempt to saffronise the education system in the country. I have never seen such a ‘Tughlaqi’ decision ever,” Chatterjee told reporters at the state secretariat today. He added that the Centre was “forcibly” trying to impose such orders.

“There has been no discussion with the state government regarding this matter. And the UGC is sending instructions directly to state-run universities despite there is an education department of the state government,” he said.

The minister also criticised the Centre for putting Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Swami Vivekananda on the same platform and described it as a “wrong move”.

“Vivekananda is a global figure and the move to keep him on the same platform with Deendayal Upadhyaya is not a correct move,” he said.

রাজ্যের শিক্ষামন্ত্রী শুক্রবার অভিযোগ করেন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থায় গৈরিকিকরনের চেষ্টা করছে।

পণ্ডিত দিনদয়াল উপাধ্যায়ের জন্ম শতবার্ষিকী ও স্বামী বিবেকানন্দর শিকাগো বক্তৃতার ১২৫বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে ইউজিসি উচ্চশিক্ষা কেন্দ্রগুলিকে নির্দেশিকা পাঠিয়েছে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের সম্প্রচার করতে। এমনকি রাজ্যের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলিকেও এই নির্দেশিকা পাঠানো হয়েছে। এই প্রেক্ষিতেই মন্তব্য করেছেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী।

“শিক্ষায় গৈরিকীকরণের প্রচেষ্টা চলছে। প্রতিটি বিষয়ে তারা নিজেরা সিদ্ধান্ত নিচ্ছেন। ইউজিসির এরকম তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্ত আগে কখনো দেখিনি” শিক্ষামন্ত্রী বলেন।

“রাজ্যের সঙ্গে এ নিয়ে কোন আলোচনা হয়নি। এই ধরনের চিঠি উপাচার্যের কাছে পাঠিয়ে ইউ জি সি সঠিক কাজ করেছে বলে মনে হয় না। যেহেতু আমাদের কাছে কোন নির্দেশ সরাসরি আসেনি তাই আমরাও কিছু বলতে পাড়ি না” মন্ত্রী বলেন।

শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পণ্ডিত দিনদয়াল উপাধ্যায় ও স্বামী বিবেকানন্দকে এক পিঁড়িতে নিয়ে আসার নিন্দাও করেন তিনি। “স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ শুধু ভারত নয় সারা বিশ্বের তরুণদের আদর্শ। তাঁর সাথে দিনদয়াল উপাধ্যায় কে এক পিঁড়িতে এনে কাজটা সঠিক করেছেন কিনা জানি না” মন্তব্য পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়ের।

The State Cabinet on Friday cleared a proposal to name the state to ‘Bangla’.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier proposed that the state be named ‘Bangla’ in Bengali, ‘Bangal’ in Hindi and ‘Bengal’ in English. But the Centre had rejected the proposal.

Minister for parliamentary affairs Partha Chatterjee on Friday said the state cabinet had decided that the state will be renamed ‘Bangla’, and will be called so in all languages.

 

রাজ্যের নাম বদলে সিলমোহর মন্ত্রিসভার

রাজ্যের নাম বদলে ‘বাংলা’ রাখার সিদ্ধান্তে সিলমোহর দিল রাজ্য মন্ত্রিসভা।

২০১৬ সালের আগস্ট মাসে রাজ্যের নাম বদলে বাংলা (হিন্দিতে বাঙ্গাল ও ইংরাজিতে বেঙ্গল) রাখার কথা ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। কিন্তু কেন্দ্র সেই প্রস্তাবটি মানেনি।

শুক্রবার মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকের পর পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি বলেন এবারের সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী সব ভাষাতেই রাজ্যের নাম হবে বাংলা।

Bengal government today decided to allow IT major Infosys to get land on freehold basis for its first IT development centre in the state. The company had purchased 50 acres from the government at Rajarhat for the project.

Speaking about the outcome of the cabinet meeting, State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said, “Earlier we had decided to allow 75 per cent of the 50-acre land for IT and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS). Now today in the Cabinet we have decided to bring it down to 51 percent for IT and ITeS.”

“They (Infosys) had written us requesting that 51 per cent will be used for IT and ITeS besides, asking for freehold instead of leasehold which we have decided to allow,” he said.

Partha Chatterjee said that Infosys will invest around Rs 100 crore in the first phase while 1000 persons were expected to be employed.

On August 29, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that IT major Infosys would invest in the state without the special economic zone (SEZ) status, which the company had sought.

“The company (Infosys) has agreed to accept all other facilities offered by the state government,” she had said.

 

ইনফোসিসকে জমির মালিকানা দেবে বাংলা

বাংলায় বিনিয়োগ করছে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি সংস্থা ইনফোসিস। জমির মালিকানা এবং ব্যবহারের ক্ষেত্রে ছাড় পেতে চলেছে দেশের অন্যতম সেরা তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি সংস্থাটি। শুক্রবার এই নয়া প্রস্তাবে রাজ্য মন্ত্রিসভা সিলমোহর দিল।

লিজ স্বত্ত্ব নয়, ইনফোসিসকে পুরোপুরি ৫০ একর জমির মালিকানা (ফ্রি-হোল্ড) দেবে সরকার। নিয়ম অনুযায়ী, লিজের জমি বিক্রি করা যায় না। কিন্তু ফ্রি-হোল্ড জমি বিক্রি করা সম্ভব। জমির মিশ্র ব্যবহারের অনুমতিও দেওয়া হয়েছে ইনফোসিসকে। জমির ৫১% এলাকা জুড়ে তৈরি করতে হবে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি শিল্পে ব্যবহার করার মতো পরিকাঠামো। বাকি ৪৯% জমি তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি শিল্প ছাড়াও অন্য কাজে ব্যবহার করতে পারবে সংস্থা।

গত মাসের শেষেই ইনফোসিসের জট খুলেছে বলে স্বয়ং মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় জানিয়েছিলেন। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেছিলেন, ‘‘সেজ দেওয়া হবে না। অন্য সব সুবিধা দেবে রাজ্য। ইনফোসিসও জানিয়েছে দেশের অন্যতম সেরা শিল্পবান্ধব রাজ্য পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। প্রাথমিক ভাবে ৫০ একর জমিতে প্রকল্প গড়তে ১০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করবে বলে জানিয়েছে সংস্থা।’’

তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি শিল্পে বিনিয়োগ টানতে নয়া ‘ইনসেনটিভ’ নীতিও তৈরি করছে রাজ্য। পুজোর পরেই এই নীতি তৈরি হয়ে যাবে।
