Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee chaired an administrative review meeting in Nadia district today. The meeting was held at Rabindra Bhavan in Krishnanagar.

This is the second administrative review meeting in Nadia since Mamata Banerjee assumed office for the second time in 2016. Government officials, elected representatives and ministers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister launched the Standard Operating Procedure for maintaining safety during water transport.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated water supply projects for Ranaghat and Nabadwip municipalities.

নদীয়া জেলায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি শুক্রবার কৃষ্ণনগরে নদিয়া জেলার প্রশাসনিক পর্যালোচনা বৈঠক করেন। কৃষ্ণনগর রবীন্দ্র ভবনে এই বৈঠক হয়। দ্বিতীয়বার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হওয়ার পর এটাই মমতা ব্যানার্জির নদীয়ায় দ্বিতীয় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক। এর আগে গতবছর আগস্টে কল্যাণীতে নদীয়া জেলার প্রশাসনিক পর্যালোচনা বৈঠক করেছিলেন তিনি।

এই প্রশাসনিক পর্যালোচনা বৈঠকে বিভিন্ন বিভাগের জেলা পর্যায়ের আধিকারিকরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এছাড়াও মহকুমা শাসক ও বিডিও–রা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। জনপ্রতিনিধিদের মধ্যে জেলা পরিষদের সদস্যরা, পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভাপতিরা, সাংসদ ও বিধায়করা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। শুক্রবার কৃষ্ণনগর রবীন্দ্রভবনে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকের পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কলকাতার ফিরবেন।

উল্লেখ্য, ২০১১ সালে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হওয়ার পর মমতা ব্যানার্জি কৃষ্ণনগর শহরে চারটি প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেছেন। প্রথম দুটি করেছিলেন সার্কিট হাউসে ২০১২ সালে। আর শেষবার ২০১৪ সালের আগস্ট মাসে বৈঠক করেছিলেন এই কৃষ্ণনগর রবীন্দ্র ভবনেই। তখন সংস্কার কাজের পর নতুন রূপের কৃষ্ণনগর রবীন্দ্র ভবনের উদ্বোধনও করেছিলেন তিনি।‌‌

আজ এই বৈঠকে তিনি রানাঘাট ও নবদ্বীপ পুরসভার জন্য জল সরবরাহ প্রকল্প উদ্বোধন করেন। এছাড়াও জলপথ নিরাপত্তা আরও জোরদার করার লক্ষ্যে রাজ্য সরকার আজ চালু হয় ‘স্ট্যান্ডার্ড অপারেটিং প্রসিডিওর’ যার সূচনা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a bouquet of developmental projects for Malda district during a public meeting at DSA Stadium in Englishbazar. At the rally the CM announced that mangoes of Malda will now be exported to Europe, Abu Dhabi and Nepal.

The projects inaugurated today by the Bengal Chief Minister include Mother and Child Hub at Malda Medical College and Hospital, building of Manikchak Degree College, police station, Karma Tirtha, Krishak Bazar, roads, hostels, water supply projects, mini indoor stadium at a girls’ hostel, housing for doctors and nurses, health centre, administrative building, and child care home.

The Bengal Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for several projects including a power sub-station, administrative buildings, housing for the homeless, health centre, model school, hostels, mini indoor stadium, godown and renovation of Malda airport in Englishbazar block.

The Bengal Chief Minister distributed benefits like Kanyashree, cycles under Sabuj Sathi, Kisan Credit Cards, Gatidhara, assistance to purchase agricultural equipments, Geetanjali, Swasthya Sathi and other such schemes.

Highlights of her speech:

• Direct govt benefits have reached 100% people in the district. 70,000 people received benefits today
• 7 child care homes (Shishu Aloys), 3 Karma Tirthas have been inaugurated today
• A new degree college has been established at Manikchak
• We have allocated Rs 16 crore for the renovation of Malda airport
• A Mother & Child Hub has been opened at Malda Medical College and Hospital
• Malda is known for mangoes and litchies. Malda’s cultural heritage is well known
• Elections or no elections, I travel to the districts and conduct meetings at the block level every year
• No other State has administrative review meetings in districts like we do in Bengal
• People don’t have to go to Kolkata anymore. We hold meetings at block levels in districts now with full team
• We conducted a detailed administrative review meeting to assess the progress of projects in the district
• Malda, Balurghat airports will become functional within the next few months. Cooch Behar airport will also become operational
• We have opened paediatric wards in this district along with 2 SNCUs, 18 SNSUs and 1 multi super-speciality hospital
• 100% work has been completed for rural electrification under ‘Sobar Ghore Aalo’ scheme in Mald
• A skill hub has been set up at Malda Nursing Training School
• 2 new ITIs have been set up, work for one more has been completed in the district along with 8 Kisan Mandis
• We are setting up 24 Karma Tirthas in Malda. Work for 10 are complete
• We have waived off debts on agricultural land. We distribute agricultural equipment to farmers
• We will set up a new ‘Industrial Growth Centre’ in Malda before August, 2017
• 11 new ferry ghats are being developed in Malda. 250 such ferry ghats will be developed across Bengal
• Like Gatidhara, we are giving financial assistance to the youth to buy modern ferries
• 94% people in Malda receive rice at Rs 2/kg under Khadya Sathi scheme
• 30 lakh bicycles will be distributed this year under Sabuj Sathi scheme
• Kanyashree girls are our ‘bhagyashree’. Kanyashree and Shikshashree recipients will become ‘bishwashree’

মালদার আম যাবে ইউরোপ, আবু ধাবিতে, ঘোষণা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

আজ মালদা জেলার ইংরেজবাজার ডিএসএ মাঠের জনসভা থেকে একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এই জনসভা থেকে বিভিন্ন সরকারি প্রকল্পের পরিষেবা প্রদান করলেন তিনি। তিনি ঘোষণা করেন এখন থেকে মালদার আমি যাবে ইউরোপ, আবু ধাবি ও নেপালে।

মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজে মাতা এন্ড চাইল্ড হাব থেকে শুরু করে মানিকচক ডিগ্রী কলেজের ভবন, থানা, কর্ম তীর্থ, কৃষক বাজার, রাস্তা, ছাত্রাবাস, মিনি ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়াম, স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র, ডাক্তার ও নার্সদের আবাস, জল সরবরাহ প্রকল্প সহ বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

মডেল স্কুল, বিদ্যুৎ সাব স্টেশন, গৃহহীনদের জন্য আবাসন, স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র, ছাত্রাবাস, সরকারি ভবন, গোডাউন সহ ইংরেজবাজার ব্লকে মালদা বিমানবন্দরের উন্নতিকরণ প্রকল্পেরও ভিত্তি প্রস্তর স্থাপন করলেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

• এই জেলার ১০০% মানুষের কাছে সরকারী পরিষেবা পৌঁছে গেছে, আজ ৭০,০০০ হাজার মানুষকে সরকারী পরিষেবা দেওয়া হল

• মালদা জেলায় পেডিয়াট্রিক ওয়ার্ড, ২ টি SNCU, ১৮ টি SNSU এবং ১ টি মাল্টি সুপার-স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল খোলা হয়েছে
• এই জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো প্রকল্পে’ গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ ১০০% সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেছে
• মালদা নার্সিং ট্রেনিং স্কুলে একটি স্কিল হাব তৈরী হয়েছে
• এই জেলায় ২ টি আইটিআই, ৮ টি কিষাণ মাণ্ডি তৈরী হয়েছে। আরো একটি আইটিআই তৈরী হতে চলেছে
• মালদা জেলায় ২৪ টি কর্ম তীর্থ তৈরী হচ্ছে যার মধ্যে ১০ টির কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে গেছে
• কৃষিজমির ঋণ আমরা মুকুব করে দিয়েছি। কৃষকদের কৃষিকর্মের যন্ত্রপাতি সহ অন্যান্য সরঞ্জাম দেওয়া হচ্ছে
• আগস্ট ২০১৭-র আগে আমরা মালদা জেলায় একটি নতুন শিল্পকেন্দ্র তৈরী করব
• মালদার ১১টি ফেরিঘাট উন্নয়ন হচ্ছে। বাংলার ২৫০টি ফেরিঘাটের উন্নয়নের পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে
• যেমন গতিধারা প্রকল্পে গাড়ি কেনার জন্য আর্থিক অনুদান দেওয়া হয়, তেমনি ফেরি কেনার জন্য অনুদান দেওয়া হবে
• মালদা জেলার ৯৪% মানুষ খাদ্য সাথী প্রকল্পের আওতায় ২ টাকা কেজি দরে চাল পাচ্ছেন
• সবুজ সাথী প্রকল্পের আওতায় ৩০ লক্ষ সাইকেল দেওয়া হবে এই বছরে
• কন্যাশ্রী মেয়েরাই আমাদের ভাগ্যশ্রী। কন্যাশ্রী এবং শিক্ষাশ্রীরাই হবে বিশ্বশ্রী
• নোট বাতিলের ফলে বড়লোকদের সমস্যা হয়নি, সমস্যা হয়েছিল গরিব দুঃখীদের
• নোট বাতিলের ফলে যারা কর্মহীন হয়েছেন তাদের আর্থিক সাহায্যের জন্য আমরা সমর্থন প্রকল্প চালু করেছি
• বাংলাদেশ, বিহার, ঝাড়খণ্ড, নেপাল থেকে মানুষ মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজে আসেন চিকিৎসার জন্য
• বাংলার সরকারী হাসপাতালে এখন বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা পাওয়া যায়
• বেটি বাঁচাও-র জন্য ১০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করেছে কেন্দ্র। আমরা কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের জন্য ১০০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করেছি
• দেশের তুলনায় বাংলার কৃষি বৃদ্ধি র হার বেশি। অথচ দিল্লির বাবুরা এসে বলছেন বাংলায় কিছু হয়নি

In an indirect dig at the BJP, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said that a few leaders from outside the State – who do not know Bangla or the Bengali culture – are trying to spread violence in the State. She also said that development cannot be achieved by making tall speeches alone or through riots.

“Some people worship Shiv, some worship Durga, some worship Kali, some worship Ganesh, some worship Chamunda while some worship Chhinnamasta. Just like we chant Durga Stotras during Pujo, we also participate in Eid or Christmas,” she said.

Calling them a shame on Hinduism she wondered where they were when the Vedas were being written or when Ram was born. “We keep our Gods on pedestals and worship them. We do not do armed rallies to intimidate people. Hinduism teaches tolerance. Religion teaches us to love everyone. Religion means peace,” she said.

Citing the instance where a popular actress had to issue clarification on Twitter about the kind of meat she ate, the CM said why does anyone have to give an explanation about what they eat. She said there was an atmosphere of fear in the country.

“BJP’r koley CPI(M) doley (BJP and CPM are hand in hand),” the Chief Minister said. She slammed the CPI(M) for leaving behind a huge debt burden and the Centre for holding back funds for the State. “Why has the Centre stopped funds for BRGF and police modernisation? These Delhi leaders keep saying nothing is happening in Bengal. What is Gujarat’s track record? What are the figures of malnutrition?” the CM asked.

She also took a dig at the BJP for starting Aadhaar for cows even when 100% humans have not been enrolled for the same.

বাইরে থেকে কিছু নেতা বাংলায় উড়ে এসে জুড়ে বসে দাঙ্গা বাধাতে চাইছে: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নাম না করে বিজেপিকে কড়া ভাষায় আক্রমণ করলেন বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আজ দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুরের বুনিয়াদপুরে একটি জনসভায় তিনি বলেন, বাইরে থেকে কিছু লোক উড়ে এসে জুড়ে বসেছে। ওরা না জানে বাংলা, না জানে বাংলার সংস্কৃতি। শুধু দাঙ্গা করতে জানে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, উন্নয়ন একদিনে হয় না, শুধু ভাষণ দিয়ে উন্নয়ন হয় না। দাঙ্গা আর হিংসা করে উন্নয়ন হয় না।

“কেউ দুর্গার পুজো করে, কেউ শিবের পুজো করে, কেউ কালীর পুজো করে, কেউ গণেশের পুজো করে, ঠিক যেমন, আমরা দুর্গা পুজোও করি, ঈদও পালন করি, বড়দিনে চার্চেও যাই” তিনি বলেন।

ওদের হিন্দু ধর্মের কলঙ্ক বলে কটাক্ষ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি বলেন, “যখন বেদ লেখা হয়েছিল, যখন রাম জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন তখন ওরা কোথায় ছিলেন? আমরা ভগবানকে আসনে বসিয়ে পুজো করি, রাস্তায় অস্ত্র মিছিল করি না। হিন্দুধর্ম আমাদের সহিষ্ণুতা শেখায়। ধর্ম আমাদের সকলকে ভালবাসতে শেখায়। ধর্ম মানে শান্তি।”

এক সাম্প্রতিক একটি ঘটনার কথা উল্লেখ করে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, “একজন জনপ্রিয় অভিনেত্রীকে টুইটারে ব্যাখ্যা দিতে হয়েছে যে সে মোষের মাংস খেয়েছে, গরুর নয়। তাকে কেন কৈফিয়ত দিতে হবে সে কি খেয়েছে? সারা দেশে ভয়ের পরিবেশ তৈরী হয়েছে।”

দিদি বলেন, “বিজেপির কোলে সিপিএম দোলে। আমরা বাম আমলের ঋণের বোঝা বহন করছি। আমাদের সব টাকা কেটে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে কেন্দ্র। রাজ্যকে টাকা দেওয়া বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে।” তিনি আরও বলেন, “BRGF এবং police modernisation এর টাকা কেন বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে কেন্দ্র। দিল্লির নেতারা এসে বলছে বাংলায় কোন কাজ হয়নি। গুজরাটে কি কাজ হয়েছে? বাংলায় অপুষ্টির হার গুজরাটের থেকে কম। অপুষ্টিতে গুজরাট ৯ আর বাংলা ৬।”

আবারও তিনি বিজেপি’কে ব্যাঙ্গ করে বলেন, “এখনও সব মানুষেরই আধার কার্ড নেই আর ওরা গরুর জন্য আধার কার্ড চালু করছে।”

The press and the media are important pillars of a democracy. The pen is mightier than the sword. Even television channels and the digital media have all become powerful tools of communication all over India and the world.

Nowadays in our country it has been observed that the media cannot play a completely impartial and effective role because of the political circumstances. In a democratic setup, this is not acceptable to the people.

Freedom of the press must continue. News must always be impartial and bold, so the reader/viewer/internet user always gets justice. This is freedom.

We congratulate the press and the media. Let them hold their heads high and do their profession proud.

‘World Press Freedom Day’ তে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বিবৃতি

সংবাদমাধ্যম গণতন্ত্রের এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্তম্ভ। কলম তরবারির থেকেও শক্তিশালী। এখন টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল ও ডিজিটাল মিডিয়া সারা ভারত ও বিশ্বজুড়ে সংবাদের এক শক্তিশালী মাধ্যম।

আজকাল দেখা যাচ্ছে যে আমাদের দেশে সংবাদমাধ্যম পুরোপুরি নিরপেক্ষ এবং কার্যকরীভাবে কাজ করতে পারছে না, দেশের রাজনৈতিক পরিস্থিতির জন্য। গণতান্ত্রিক পরিকাঠামোয় এটি মানুষের কাছে গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়।

সংবাদমাধ্যমের স্বাধীনতা বজায় থাকুক। খবর সবসময় হোক নিরপেক্ষ এবং নির্ভীক, যাতে পাঠক/দর্শক/ ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীদের সঙ্গে ন্যায় হয়। এটাই স্বাধীনতা।

আমরা সংবাদমাধ্যম অভিনন্দন জানাই। তারা যাতে মাথা উঁচু করে নিজেদের কাজ গৌরবের সঙ্গে করে যেতে পারে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that the State Government had issued notification for the surrender and rehabilitation of Naxalites with incentives, providing gainful employment and entrepreneurial opportunities to surrendered Naxalites, so that they become a part of mainstream.

In that effect 328 Left Wing Extremists have surrendered. This includes 111 Maoists in 2017 (till date) and 205 surrenderees have already been enrolled as Special Home Guards, the CM posted on her Facebook page.

She informed that apart from employment, surrendering Maoists get financial incentives as well as assistance for housing, medical and child education, as per norms set up by the government.

মাওবাদীদের মূল স্রোতে ফেরাতে বাংলাই মডেল

নকশাল ও মাওবাদীদের সমাজের মূল স্রোতে ফিরিয়ে আনার জন্য বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগ নিচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার। মঙ্গলবার ফেসবুকে একথা জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এদিন ফেসবুকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান, রাজ্যে এখনও পর্যন্ত ১১ জন মাওবাদী সহ ৩২৮ জন অতি বাম সমর্থক আত্মসমর্পণ করেছে। এর মধ্যে ২০৫ জনকে হোম গার্ড পদে নিয়োগ করা হয়েছে। আরও ৯ জনের চাকরি দেওয়ার প্রক্রিয়া চলছে। সব মিলিয়ে ২২৫ জনের কর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।

তিনি আরও জানান কর্মসংস্থান ছাড়াও আর্থিক সহায়তা, বাড়ি তৈরী, চিকিৎসা, সন্তানদের পঠনপাঠনেও সাহায্য করবে রাজ্য সরকার।
