Saugata Roy makes a Zero Hour submission regarding the protest by doctors

Madam, I had given an adjournment motion on the strike by thousands of doctors all over the country. The strike call has been given by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). They are protesting against the National Medical Commission Bill. We take notice of the autonomy of the Medical Council.
Madam, you should take cognizance of this strike by the doctors. All the medical services in the country have been stopped. It is totally a draconian bill and the doctors are on the warpath. I request you to take cognizance. These bills are put in here surreptitiously and then the minister goes on to pass the bill with majority in Parliament.
The protest of the civil society, of the doctors, against undemocratic bill, which takes away the representative character of the Medical Council should be taken into account and this Bill should be scrapped. That is my demand. The minister has just gone away without replying anything, while doctors are on the streets.
