IT&E Dept exploring potential of digital marketing
The State Information Technology & Electronics (IT&E) Department is exploring ways to use digital marketing, especially in the tier II and tier III cities.
Places like Bardhaman, Asansol, Durgapur and Purulia are some of the places where this digital marketing strategy can be adopted successfully, say officials of the department. They say that during their visit to IT parks across the State, they have come across a good number of youths who have evinced interest in working in the area of digital marketing.
According to a senior official of the department, more and more businesses are heading towards adopting digital marketing or publicity tools and techniques, as they provide business-owners the best chances for competition, survival and even business growth. They want to capture a growing and very lucrative online marketplace.
Hence, the government feels, this could be an area in which small groups, particularly the youths, could work upon.
